I recently tried the Thai Curry Pizza at this place, and I must say, it was quite the unique culinary experience! This fusion of Thai and Italian flavors was a delightful surprise, and here's my take on it: The Tom Yum Pizza combines the rich, aromatic flavors of tom yum soup with the comforting familiarity of pizza. At first glance, I was a bit skeptical about how these two cuisines would come together, but the result was surprisingly harmonious. The spicy tangy tom yum paste, and the toppings, including shrimp, lemongrass, and cilantro, added a refreshing twist to the classic pizza ingredients. It's a flavor explosion that will tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving more. Now, let's address the elephant in the room, or should I say, the gnats and flies. Unfortunately, during my visit, I noticed a rather annoying infestation of these tiny pests in the dining area. It was a bit of a mood dampener and made me feel uncomfortable while enjoying my meal. There were mostly center inside the restroom's trash can and toilet bowl but do make their way out to the dining area. I really hope the management can address this issue promptly because it does affect the overall dining experience. Despite the pest problem, I'd still recommend giving the Thai Curry Pizza a try, especially if you're an adventurous eater. The unique combination of flavors is worth experiencing, and I'm hopeful that the restaurant can tackle their pest issue soon because it's not hygienic for gnats/flies to touch poop in the restroom and then lands on your pizza. Eating Thai pizza in Thailand was such a joy for me, and I'm so happy to stumble upon a spot here in SoCal. I love fusion pizzas from Korean to Indian, and so eating the tom yum pizza was number one on my list here. We ordered a tom yum pizza by phone, and we picked it up with no problem. Cash is best here to avoid the transaction cost. When it came into our hands, the actual size is actually smaller than the box and what one would imagine a large would look like. I was questioning whether we were given the wrong size, but for its price, I figured it was well worth it to support a local food outpost. The chicken didn't seem to be plenty, but oh wow the moment I took the first bite, the flavor of the tom yum rushed into my mouth. It was tastier than I imagine, and it hit it right on the spot of like the concentrated part of the soup. I look forward to trying the curry pizza next! read more

This place definitely lived up to my expectations. It's a Thai pizza restaurant that also serves common Thai dishes as well. It's definitely not located in the nicest neighborhood but I would definitely return for the food cause it's worth it. Parking is limited and I would call in your order if you don't want to wait 20+ minutes. We tried the the papaya salad which was great! We also tried the thai chicken curry pizza which was decent but definitely lacking a little bit of the thai curry flavor so we put some papaya salad on it instead. Others recommended to order extra curry sauce on the side which we sadly didn't do. The Tom Yum shrimp pizza was the star of the meal. It was extremely flavorful and we loved all the toppings that came with it. Very noticeable tom yum flavor and addicting. read more

The pizza is definitely worth it! The rolls are also delicious. Their pad see ew is also something that I enjoyed eating. The owner Sam is welcoming to his customers. The vibe of the area of the restaurant is located is definitely a bit sketch. You literally walk into a hole in the wall with several tables but it's really not meant to have any dine in guests. We waited a while to be acknowledged and serviced, the delivery guy came and asked if it was our first time. He then recommended the Tom Yum shrimp pizza, which comes only in a large size. We decided on a large Thai curry, chicken pizza, which came in a to go box, slightly warm, and not cut. It was good, but probably wouldn't order it again. The second order was the Tom Yum shrimp pizza, which came extremely hot and made to be served as a dine-in. This pizza was definitely good and full of flavor but I think it would have been OK with chicken on it. Service is OK, nothing spectacular. Will definitely be back for the Tom Yum pizza. read more

I have been coming here for awhile now but never had a chance to write a review, so here we go! I highly recommend the Tom Yum Chicken Pizza. The sauce was so umami! It was sweet, tangy, and aromatic with tom yum ingredient. The pizza had fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, chicken, cheese and cilantro. All the ingredients went really well together. Hands down, this is a really unique pizza and probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had. The large size is enough for 4-5 people. I think small or medium is a good size to share between 2 people. The parking here is really limited but it shouldn't be a problem to pick up and go. Tip: sometimes I would order a side of curry sauce to dip my pizza in, it's so good! The curry sauce is like a non-spicy version of "choo chee" curry. read more

To say I'm obsessed with this restaurant is an understatement. I've been coming here for years and always get the same thing-- Tom yum pizza with tofu and a side of curry sauce. It is always absolutely incredible, and always ready on time after I call in my order. Any time I hear that someone is going to be in Long Beach I tell them they HAVE to try the Thai curry pizza, and I've never had a single person not fall in love with it. It broke my heart to move further away, but still make trips to LB every few months just for the pizza (with a stop at the dog beach). read more

Food 5/5 The tom yum pizza was one of the most unique and flavorful pizzas I've tried. I love thai food and I love pizza, but I never thought that combining them would make it even better. The tom yum pizza had concentrated tom yum sauce instead of a regular tomato sauce, creating such a flavorful profile. The dough was cooked to perfection-crunchy and chewy. The toppings were decently portioned. If anyone is curious to see how curry pizza tastes like, but unable to get two pizzas, I recommend getting a curry sauce on the side and using it as a dipping sauce! Service 4/5 I ordered online and requested cilantro to be on the side, but the food came with the cilantro on top. Ultimately, it did not compromise the taste of the food because I was able to remove them, but I hope they will take notice of the note next time. Ambiance 3/5 The place is located in a small plaza with a small parking structure, so you might have to find street parking. Inside is casual and fairly clean, and there are seats to dine in. read more

This is seriously Long Beach's best kept secret. My sister brought some home after a date and then I was hooked! My favorite is the Tom Yam but the Thai curry one is delicious as well! I don't think I ever would have imagined the fusion but something about the sweet/sour tom yum sauce with the melty cheese is perfect. A must try if you are in long beach! Protip: this is good even when lukewarm. Grab a pizza and go watch the sunset on the beach! read more

This place shortly after the first try became our favorite specialty pizza place. Our go to is the Tom Yum Chicken Pizza and Spicy Salty Squid as the appetizer. The parking may be tricky depending on the time of the day, only a few spots available. The service is acceptable, nothing special, but they do offer utensils and plates, the pizza comes with parmesan and pepper flakes. The vibe is literally like a mom and pop restaurant, like a hole in the wall pizza shop; you literally order your food through a hole. (window) I'd give this place 5/5. I will drive an hour just to pick up this pizza. It satisfies my cravings of Thai food and pizza. My absolute favorite is the Tom Yum Pizza (literally 10000/10) and I will never stop recommending this place. It's a small shop tucked away in this plaza next to a gas station. Parking sucks but I usually order on the phone and come pick it up real quick so I'll have my boyfriend wait in the car as I head in to pay. Love love love this place! read more

I could only take close ups because as soon as we got the pizzas home we devoured it. I used to know this place as Dean's Pizza, but you should know what to order with its new name. When my sister lived in downtown Long Beach she introduced me to this place and it's one of my favorite unique pizzas ever. This place is pretty much take out only, and we were so happy to put in our order 10 minutes before closing and drove from Anaheim to pick it up. We figured out our favorite: Thai curry pizza with tofu, extra large, extra sauce, add mushrooms. It's like one of those hometown pizza places you remember as a kid, except instead of tomato sauce they dump red curry with bell peppers, onions and mushrooms and then it's topped and held together with cheese. I can't describe it further, but if you like red Thai curry and pizza, then you'll probably love this. There's a small parking lot for pick up. It's your typical strip mall take out- no frills. So happy I got my Thai curry pizza fix by the end of the year! read more

Found this place online and finally got around to try the Thai curry pizza here. I really enjoyed the pizza and thought it was a good blend of both sweet and savory. The pizza was lighter on the curry than I expected and I would have preferred some more curry on it. If the pizza came with some curry on the side as a dipping sauce, it would have amped it up for me. They also have a tom yum pizza that seemed interesting and I'll probably try that one next time I visit. The place is a basic, hole-in-the-wall, mom-and-pop shop. It's not very big with only a handful of tables for seating. Most people took their orders to-go though so there was plenty of seating available when I was there on a weekend late afternoon. It's a small plaza with shared parking so there aren't a lot of spots but we didn't have any trouble with parking while we were there. The workers were nice. Our server was friendly and eager to chit chat a bit. I think one thing they could have done was been more proactive with service though, like providing napkins for those dining in without us having to request them, especially since their set up makes it hard to get their attention. Overall, I thought the pizza was really tasty and would visit this place again. read more

I was quite surprised about this Thai Fusion style. The Tom Yum Pizza is good. The flavor base is decent. The restaurant mainly caters to take out orders, but they do have a fee table set up. The service is very warm. I recommend trying this place if you are in the area. read more

Tom Yum pizza is amazing. Order it with a side of Tom Yum sauce you won't be disappointed. Burgers (for the kids) were really good and a nice size. Tried the beef salad but wasn't impressed. Rating that dish 3/5. Will go back time and time again for the Tom yum pizza!!! read more

What a unique twist on pizza! I'd definitely recommend the Tom Yum Pizza ($15.99 for large size). The pizza comes topped with a Tom Yum sauce, mushrooms, tomatoes, cilantro, and chicken. While I'm not too crazy about tomatoes and cilantro as toppings, the taste and flavor profile really works as a pizza. The absolute best part of this is actually the Tom Yum sauce. Make sure you get extra sauce on the side. The sauce is sour, yet spicy. It truly made the pizza extra delicious! I also liked that they cut the pizza into small slices, which is helpful when you want a 3rd slice but also nearing your limit. If you know, you know. I've been dying to try this place for a few years now and last Sunday I was in the area and figured it would be the time to give it a try. I ordered some chicken egg rolls and the tom yum pizza and here are my comments: Egg rolls: huge portion and delicious. I ended up eating the egg rolls for lunch and then saved the pizza for dinner. They were delicious and crispy and the sweet sauce was on point Tom Yum Chicken Pizza: this pizza was so amazing it transported me back to my younger days when my mom used to buy me Tom Yum soup when I was sick or when the weather got chilly. The flavor is so delicate and soft and somehow makes a great topping for pizza. Order takes about 20-35 minutes depending on the night. We had a 45 minute drive and the food was still warm. They didn't give us a total on the phone order. Came out to be $32 for 2 items. Worth the drive and every penny!! 5/5: curry chicken pizza: we added fresh garlic and ordered an extra cup of curry sauce. We were happy we added garlic. I didn't miss tomato sauce at all. I would have liked more basil. 5/5: pad see ew: eggs came on the side not scrambled but it was yummy. The noodles are extra thick and tummy. I love the generous amount of broccoli. Unlike most places, this dish had no sweetness and was slightly salty. I would ask for less salt and more sweetness next time. I can't wait to come back to try their Tom Yum pizza (add garlic and sauce on the side too) Take out only. No delivery at this time. Service is quick and easy. There were no lines. Add $1 for credit card fees for any amount. The parking lot is tiny. It parks about 7-8 cars, so be careful. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Thai Curry Pizza! I mean the name alone is cause to order from! I stumbled upon it late one night after driving around trying to find a spot open past 10 PM (really, Long Beach?). The owner is SO sweet and kind. Phoned my order and it was ready rather quickly for a Friday night. I ordered the signature Thai Curry Pizza with chicken. It was just the right amount of sauce and the dough has just the right amount of outside crisp without being hard and inside fluff. Sauce wasn't overpowering but could've used a little more spice, so you might wanna ask them for that. Pictures don't do it justice but thought I'd add anyway. read more

Thai Curry Pizza is a hidden gem here in Long Beach! The other day I was in the area and wanted to try something new. After reading some of the raving reviews here, I decided to give this place a try. Upon arrival, the plaza and store itself looked a bit run-down, cramped, and was noticeably very old. The store was also a bit small and cluttered, but never judge a book by its' cover because the service and the food here were excellent! The men who helped us in the front were also so incredibly sweet. A tip I must recommend is placing your order over the phone and coming to pick up, we were in and out in a matter of minutes, even though the store was pretty much empty. It saved us a lot of time! We ordered the famous Thai Curry pizza with chicken and the Tom Yum pizza with chicken - both size small. Biting into both pizzas for the first time was absolutely amazing. The way the cheese melts in your mouth...and the fusion taste of both the Thai Curry and the Tom Yum flavors were so delicious, unlike anything I've ever had! I would definitely recommend this if you are ever in the area looking for a quick bite to eat, Thai Curry Pizza is the place to be. read more

Thai Food and Pizza combined?!?! Who would have thought that this is the kind of fusion pizza that we needed in this world. The joint is located in a relatively small plaza with limited parking. If you can't find parking in the lot, there's plenty of street parking in the area. I called in and ordered two medium pizzas, the tom yum pizza and the thai curry chicken pizza. After reading reviews, I requested to get an extra side of curry sauce to dip in the pizza. I walked into the store and the cashier seems to be super busy being stuck on the phone with tons of people calling in to place their orders. You can tell the food is going to be good if the cashier is constantly taking phone calls. After waiting about 5 mins, my pizza was ready to be picked up. The tom yum pizza was my fiance's favorite. It definitely had the tom yum flavors of spicy and sour on the pizza. The thai curry chicken pizza was my favorite. Dipping it in the curry sauce was definitely a game changer. It was really savory and had some sweetness to it. It was like having panang curry sauce on top of your pizza. The pizzas were so filling that we could barely finish half. It was more than enough for two people. I would have never thai flavors on a pizza could go so well with each other. This is definitely a spot that I will definitely have to come back to! I highly recommend this place if they want to try a new and interesting take on pizza! read more

2.5 Stars. I love fusion food so when this place popped up on my Yelp feed, I wanted to check it out. I wanted to try their signature pizzas so I ordered a small Tom yum pizza no mushrooms and a small Thai curry tofu pizza. First I'd like to note how the shop itself was a bit dirty/ messy when I walked in, which made me a little worried about how the pizzas are being cooked here. Another issue I had was that despite repeating no mushrooms at least 4 times when I called in my order, there were mushrooms on the tom yum pizza they brought out to me. The lady took the pizza back and I'm guessing she just removed the mushrooms and added parsley to cover those spots. This place is the definition of hole in the wall. It is literally a hole in the wall. When I pulled into the parking lot, I thought I came to the wrong place because it was so small and a little bit run down. It also didn't really look like the place was open. And when I got inside, all the chairs were up and no one was really sitting there. Needless to say I was not sure I was gonna like this place. But I was pleasantly surprised. Me and my cousin ordered the large Chicken Tom Yum Pizza ($22.50), and it was SO GOOD. If I could give this pizza 10 stars, I would. I have never had anything like it before. I've been told that they check parking at the Burger King next door, so don't park there. The 4th Horseman is located off of 4th St & Solana Ct. It's a 21 and over bar, so absolutely no kids allowed (completely heavenly to get away from screaming brats for a while). There's a small stage in front for when they have bands, trivia nights, comedy shows, movie nights, etc. There's bar seating and plenty of tables all throughout the joint, so if you don't readily find a spot to squat keep on walking and you'll find something. It's a full bar, so they have whatever's your poison. For food there's pizza (by the slice or full pies), calzone, salad, brussels sprouts, and sourdough knots. We kept it simple and had the Slasher Pizza (pepperoni) with a Basic Salad. We sat in the back past the bar, which is where they have a pool table and a bunch of arcades to kill some time. There's a self-serve water station, but if you need anything else just go to the bar and they'll be more than happy to help you out. The pizza and salad were pretty good! If you're more health-conscious, they have a lot of vegan options to choose from. If you don't care about that, the pizza slices are huge and have the perfect amount of grease while you're pounding drinks! Honestly, I'm a big fan of The 4th Horseman! Growing up a metalhead, the music and atmosphere are nice and cozy for me. The employees were all really nice, which is always a big plus when trying something new. When it was time to pay, my aunt was figuring out how much everyone needed to Zelle her since the restaurant only allows a maximum of two cards for split payments. While we were trying to do the math, our waiter stood over us watching the payment screen like he was supervising a final exam. He was clearly waiting to make sure a tip was entered. My aunt politely asked him to give us a minute, and thankfully he walked away. Maybe when you see a family actively calculating a bill, that's your cue to...actually give them a minute. Keep in mind we also tipped 20% despite all this. Throughout the meal, he did stop by our table, but it rarely felt like he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. If anything I felt rushed. He also gave off that "customer service smile" that disappears the moment you stop looking. The cherry on top for me happened as we were leaving. We had been sitting on the outdoor patio talking for a bit after paying, which is pretty normal for my family. Before leaving, I went inside to ask where the restroom was. The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. I'll happily support a restaurant that appreciates my business instead of making me feel like I have to prove I earned the right to use the restroom after paying for dinner.

I showed up around 5pm and sure enough there was already a line forming in front of the restaurant. The restaurant is located around a neighborhood, so you have to find street parking, which can be challenging. I already did my research on what I wanted to order, so my process went fairly smoothly. I imagine some other people were not as prepared and asked a lot of questions at the counter which can make the wait time even longer for other people in line. We ordered caesar salad, pizza focaccia with soppressata, squid ink tonnerelli, and ribeye tagliata. We also ordered some glasses of wine. After ordering, they walked us to our table inside. This location used to be a bbq restaurant- shady grove- before they closed down. And wow I was so impressed by the change of the patio vibe. It looked way nicer now under Due Fuori. I truly believe the vibe of a restaurant is equally important to the quality of the food, and this place nailed it. Also, apparently you can still order more stuff even after you're seated. They don't really have dedicated server for each table but the service was pretty efficient in my opinion. Now the food, everything was delicious, I have no notes! Caesar salad, very good. Pizza, omg amazing. And I'm not a pizza kinda person, so this is really a compliment! It's the thick kind of pizza, and they put some honey on it too which makes it even more delicious to me. Next was the squid ink pasta, another delightful dish. My only complaint is that it's not big enough of a portion, haha! The ribeye tagliata was so good. It was served with some salad that's very refreshing. The server explained to us that the original dish comes with the greens and cherry tomatoes underneath the meat, but they serve it separately to keep the freshness and crunch. The meat has some nice crust on the outside, very flavorful. We ended up taking some of the ribeye home, as we were already really full. It was plenty of food to share between two people. I definitely will come back to try other dishes, especially the other popular pasta dishes. This place has been really popular and I heard the line is still long even after a few months (or maybe it has been a year now?). Definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Italian food in town. Very hip, vibey place, and delicious food!

Unfortunately, by the time I sat for dinner, they were out of most of their menu, including the al pastor. I am NOT docking them for points for running out of things on opening weekend. It's so hectic I'm sure, and it's a lot to have to figure out. They were able to make the pizza with pork belly instead of al pastor though. It was pretty good, but honestly forgettable. I also think that their menu is pretty expensive for their portions and offerings. I know they were running low on items, but the toppings were definitely skimpy. LITTLE BLACK CURLY HAIR IN MY FOOD... AND ON PURPOSE!!! I came in and tried ordering a calzone, after arguing w the old man behind the counter for 5 minutes because he could not understand that I wanted a calzone w no cheese, an older woman came to take his place after he told me "mother fucker you can eat somewhere else." wow. so I tried ordering crab fried rice without egg... but she got mad (again, wow) and yelled at me that she could not make it w no egg because it would stick to the pan and she would not do it. so I said fine and ordered it as is. as I went to pay she smiled and said no refunds. I asked her why she was telling me that prior to me even getting my food and if she was going to spit in it and she started yelling at me... again. I was almost in tears at this point. why are these people so MEAN??? and UGLY!!! I got my rice and it was okay... there was absolutely no flavor and it was made sloppily (the rice was still balled up in some places, not completely fried). then at the very end... I found it... the black pubic hair in my food. I brought it back and the WHOLE STAFF started yelling at me... the fat faced short little female cook even put her middle finger in my face to the point where I thought she was going to physically assault me. they accused me of putting my own hair in my food... (I have platinum blonde hair by the way). I find it rather curious that the b**** behind the counter informed me of their cheap, (possibly illegal?) no refund policy and then I am served food w nasty black hair in it. oh and then cussed out by the little old man, woman, and cook. DON'T EAT HERE. STAY AWAY! I WAS RACIALLY DISCRIMINATED. I ordered a pizza here tonight it arrived at around 8:30 pm. The delivery guy handed my friend the pizza. Then he walked away without giving change to my friend. My friend asked for it and he immediately started yelling at my friend because he was demanding a tip. Then we asked him if he does free delivery and said yea but the tip is mandatory. Completely contradictory!!!!. THIS PART GETS APPAULING. He drives away tells me I'm a cheap Mexican for not tipping him and calls me an asshole. He also told be that I could never order from him again. I looked at other reviews and they all have the same experienced with this emotionally unstable young boy. I will never be coming back after that. Through word of mouth, we decided to try Dean's, to see if this would be a place to add to our list of restaurants that deliver. We were told to try the Thai Curry Pizza with chicken. The thought of Thai curry flavors on a pizza seemed strange. But since we love Thai food, we said "Why not?" Delivery of our large pizza ($15) was very fast! The delivery man was pleasant (I didn't get his name) and friendly! We loved the flavors and couldn't stop eating it!!!! Normally, I eat just two pieces of pie! I ate 3 and wanted to eat yet another! This place is f-ing awesome! The owner (a small Thai fellow) is so friendly and he (in addition to the delicious cuisine) are the reasons I will go out of my way to visit this place. I have been going here for more than 10 years and it is by far some of the best pizza I've ever had. The Thai curry sauce is awesome with pizza, and if you don't want pizza you can get burgers, chicken strips, or various asian dishes. This place is definitely one of those hidden gems in Long Beach (or elsewhere) and it is a must when visiting the area. read more

IF YOU ARE LOCAL YOU NEED TO GET THIS!!! I recently moved to Long Beach, and Thai Curry Pizza is one of those places that we regular once a week for pizza. It is so good, it is to die for. I can't say it enough, if you are local you must taste even a slice of it. I must warn you, if you are the type of person to like simpler tastes, it's not for you. The pizza can come in 2 thai flavors from what I saw: Yellow Curry, and Tom Yum. Both are Amazing, and I recommend getting both. read more

I love Dean's !! They always come through for me when Im too lazy (or hungover) to leave the house. The menu variety is what I love most. Where else can you get a cheeseburger, french dip, fried catfish, Thai food, AND pizza at your door in 30 minutes? The food is always consistent and the delivery guy is fast every time! This is one busy little place! That is for good reason though. We had the chicken curry pizza, spicy fried rice, and crab roll. They were all delicious! She comes across as combative, takes no accountability for mistakes, and makes resolving simple issues unnecessarily difficult. My daughter called in our usual order for pickup. When she arrived, she immediately noticed something was wrong because the total was much lower than expected. When she politely brought it to Marisol's attention, instead of acknowledging that there may have been a mistake, Marisol insisted the order had never been placed that way. She then asked my daughter if she wanted to order the missing item while she was already there to pick up her food, which would require waiting another 15 minutes. Since the delay was the result of an incorrect order, my daughter asked if she could at least receive fresh fries while waiting. Marisol told her she would have to pay extra for fresh fries. Marisol also claimed that she had repeated the order back over the phone when it was originally placed. That simply isn't true. She rushed my daughter off the phone, saying she'd see her in 15 minutes, without reviewing the order. We've continued to support A&J's because the food is consistently excellent, but experiences like this make it harder to keep coming back. Great food can only go so far when customers are made to feel dismissed instead of valued. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides additional customer service training so loyal customers receive the experience they deserve.
