I was excited to try this spot because of the Todd English name, but I should have assumed this would be the normal vegas tourist restaurant with a famous chef attached. I'm not sure the real Todd English would go for this food. We were a table of four and we ordered the Unicorn Fish Bowl Drink which came with a huge ball of cotton candy on top and four straws. Not sure there was even alcohol in it, but it tasted good. However, upon trying the cotton candy, it had the flavor of BBQ infused into it... like it had been just sitting next to or above the grill in the kitchen. We got the loaded fries, those were great! The Korean corn dogs were average, the fish and chips were like elementary school hot lunch, like giant fish sticks. Our friends ordered the fig and prosciutto pizza, and we all agreed that we'd never seen so much fig on a pizza in our lives. See the attached picture for how much fig was scraped off of 3 very small pieces... yikes. First and foremost I want to thank the Chef for serving my order firsthand!! The Korean-style chicken wings were deliciously tender and cooked Al-dente and that sauce was exquisite (this wings DO NOT need any ranch or other side sauce... trust me). Smokey Mushroom Pizza - WOW, this was one of the best Pizza's I have ever had. Suppose you have never had a smoked pizza before. YOU MUST TRY IT! It has a smokey mushroom puree on the dough with giant mushrooms and onions and Brie cheese on top. I could have had much more of this and will be ordering it again. Korean Wings - the wings were nicely coated with a Korean sauce and topped with green onions. They were fantastic with lots of flavors. We had reservations for 9 and interrupted the host cleaning menus. It wasn't a super friendly welcome, but we were seated quickly. First I'll talk about ambiance. It's interesting and artistic, but in my opinion they took the beast theme a little too far. We left feeling like we needed to say a handful of Hail Marys. The beast/demon theming was a little intense, even for Vegas. In regards to our dining experience, I think we had a rough start because our server welcomedus with cheap plastic cups (I've never seen this at a sit down restaurant) of tap water that tasted absolutely disgusting. We were rushed to order and she didn't seem overly excited to share her opinions on the menu. The cocktails were cute, especially the capris sun pouches, but I was disappointed they weren't stronger. For starters we ordered the Bavarian pretzel, the Korean hotdogs and the tuna tartar tacos. The tacos were phenomenal, but a small portion. For our mains we ordered a pizza, the Cuban sandwich and the ribs. All were ok, but the ribs were delicious and that's coming from a Texan so you're welcome All and all is was an ok experience overall, just to come and walk around in AREA15 is worth it, but I doubt we will return. read more

Pretty disappointed with our visit. My "Korean corn dog" was undercooked and looked nothing like the photos. It was bland pancake-like batter that was half raw and inedible. They are supposed to be coated with panko crumbs and fried so not sure why it was stuck in a waffle iron and I was charged $8. Amsterdam burger was decent but my partner felt it was too greasy. The stand out item for me was the side of mac & cheese. It was flavorful for me personally, but there's maple syrup in it. For a restaurant that advertises itself as great for picky eaters, you should LIST the ingredients in your food on the menu. There's no excuse for not doing it. If you're going to put syrup in a pasta dish, let folks know. So many kids wouldn't touch it, and many adults may not like sugary cheesy pasta. It's as simple as putting details on the online menu so people know what you plan on including in their food. The customer service is good. We asked to be reseated because the ambiance of the restaurant is amazing but they sat us at a 2 top in a dark corner. It was my partners bday and she wanted a nice atmosphere with the meal. Kinda sucks the designers of the place didn't care to decorate all the tables with a little something, so only half the guests get the ambiance of the cute industrial candle decor. The two tops aren't even next to the wall art. When you pay $20+ for a dilly darn hamburger you kinda want the "food hall" dining experience. This place kinda makes me angry because it has so much potential to be great. The food is promising, the atmosphere is bomb besides couples being left out of it. We decided to check this place out after Meow Wolf. The menu looked interesting enough and has a good variety. Now, it was a Saturday night and Area15 was pretty busy but they were able to seat us right away. It fits the vibe here that it's pretty loud so prepare to do some yelling. We wanted to try a few things so we ordered a Caesar salad, Korean Wings, the Frenchie burger and some Parmesan fries. The server informed us that food arrives here as it's finished so there is no timing. First we received the salad, then the fries and wings. The burger arrived well after everything else. We didn't care since we were kind of sharing everything but you might want to know if this isn't your thing. The Caesar was nice, well plated and had a nice eggless dressing. I liked the split romaine as opposed to chopped. It was fresh, crunchy and cool. The Wings were decent with a nice Sesame aioli. They were a bit messy and I mean that in a good way. The Frenchie was wonderful with a big amount of melted rich cheese and a perfectly cooked patty. I loved this burger. It was served with a tall spiral sliced potato they call chips. It was really dry and although it creates a neat visual, I could've gone without. They drizzle an insanely small amount of sauce on them but the whole thing was kind of a mess. The fries were also just kind an afterthought. All in all it was very good. The food timing situation was a bit odd and I could see that being a bother. I'm from Texas, so I was raised on bbq, and I'm somewhat a connoisseur of smoked meats. The pulled pork was really good, sausage was good, and the ribs were ok. I prefer my ribs to fall off the bone with little effort, and these guys were more spare rib/Asian style. They had really good flavor though. Now for the shocker...I normally loathe potato salad and slaw, but both of these sides were VERY tasty. I'm a tough customer when it comes to these items and I was super impressed! Coming from the south, that's a staple. If you say you don't like potato salad, every southern woman says, "Well, it's because you haven't had MY potato salad." in truth, I just don't like Mayo and cold potatoes. We were going to see the Van Gogh exhibit inside Area 51 and arrived early just so we could eat here. We came on a Wednesdag at 5pm and we're seated right away - as others have mentioned, there are no reservations and its only first come first serve. We were seated at a hightop that faced the kitchen so we could see everything being made which was cool. Definitely gives you an appreciation for the kitchen staff, especially running around with masks on the whole time!! I ordered the Mermaid to start and it was cool and refreshing, exactly what I was looking for. We ordered some loaded fries to start are they were AMAZING. Definitely shareable and our waitress Maria brought out extra plates which was necessary. They are ooey, gooey, and hit the spot. For my entree I got the Frenchie burger which is served with the potato spiral tower. The burger didn't look like much, but it was tasty. A little messy because of all the cheese on top, but I have never been one to complain about too much cheese. The potato spiral was a nice side too, but after eating the loaded fries they just didn't compare. Overall the experience was great, food was out quickly and servers were friendly. Absolutely a terrible experience. We entered intending to have a nice lunch while visiting the weird place of Area 15. Our server came to the table to take our drink orders and we asked for water with no ice. one of the runners came to the table and hastily set our waters on the table, walking away towards the bar, not saying a word, stone-faced and looking like he couldn't wait to get home so he could stare at the ceiling and cry about his life. We immediately noticed that our water had ice in then and I was like "excuse me, sir, we need no ice in the water" he grabbed both cups and I saw him go back towards the kitchen area where he literally threw the water into the sink and filled the cups again bringing them back to the table without a word and the look on his face said, "I hate my job". As we started to place orders I noticed that our waitress had a sarcastic snarky attitude and could not control the expressions on her face. Whether it was a nerve problem or not, she was not friendly and did not make us feel welcome. Once the food arrived and we finished, we were literally presented with the bill on a machine that we had to immediately pay for. what kind of system is this? they didn't do anything to deserve a tip though they get to stand there and watch you put one in. The beast is a beast. Todd English slays all the dragons here. Truly exceptional culinary foray that delivers from end to end. The billing says that "even the pickiest eater will find something mouthwatering" here, and I have to agree. I came here with my husband on a date, with the challenge of keeping our New Year's resolution of being vegetarian for a month. (We started after a delay). And it was hugely tempting to order the Tomahawk or BBQ chicken wings, respectively. (My husband, with the penchant for steak, and I, for the chicken wings). But we decided to stick to the plan. And boy, am I glad we did. The cauliflower "wings," with the Korean sauce (including sesame aioli and scallion), were one of the best things I've ever had in Las Vegas, vegetarian or not, in many moons. Richly flavorful, perfectly textured, and surprisingly meaty, and left you wanting more. I did not miss the chicken one bit. I really mean that. Not just in a rah-rah, "Now I'm a vegetarian, I feel compelled to cheer all things vegetarian" kind of way. (Not calling you out, Veganites--I'm trying to BE you.) If I am blessed to return here, I would order that dish again, and not be in the slightest bit interested in the cluck-cluck version. We also sampled the Greek salad with Romaine, Cucumber, Crispy Chickpea, purple onion, tomato, olive, and feta. It was bright, fresh, and lemony. And again, surprisingly hearty. The Falafel Burger, with Tzatziki and Arugula (and we substituted tomato for red onion), came on a soft, doughy bun and hit the spot. All the flavors of the Mediterranean in a statuesque format American burger. You might want to ask for a tad more Tzatziki sauce. The Barley-mushroom burger with scallion-sesame relish was more of a sandwich than burger (but definitely looks like a burger). It was so tasty that it earned my hardcore meat-lover husband's admiration. He opined about this veggie burger, quite poetically, "It's sort of like watching a stunt team perform in an action movie. You can get into the action moves, but they're not really fooling anybody." Can you see why we're married? They were out of cauliflower crust for the vegan pizza, so we got the white pizza with arugula. It's delicious. Dewy, luscious, and tangy, with spicy notes. Somehow we managed to save some to box for later, but "later" came immediately upon arriving at home, and it was gone, son! The Mozzarella Dog. Gooey and mildly-sweet, without overpowering the cheese and complementing it. The ketchup is a piquant addition to the salty flavors. It's light even though that is not what you would expect from a corn dog. Service was perfectly appropriate, and the ambience was both lively and ombré at the same time. All the adult drinks are here. You have to purchase a ticket for Area 15 to get in at the moment (or, alternatively, for one of the attractions there). Reservations for the general public, without paying for entrance, are not yet available. But I'm sure that'll change soon enough. And knowing the general up and down of restaurant establishments here in the Valley, you should do your best to get here while the getting is still good. At the same time, I have no doubt that four-time James Beard winner, Todd English, (and who has apparently been spotted behind the bar counter), will do all that is humanly or beastly possible to maintain the highest quality and consistency it currently has in its opening run--despite the rather extensive menu and highly volatile serving environment, which is a cross between a pub and Grand Central station. BUT...life being the way it is, I would get into the belly of this Beast sooner rather than later. read more

Shocked at how amazing this place was! I would come back here just for the food and nothing else! Came to Area 15 for the first time and decided to grab some dinner while we were exploring. This restaurant to me is one of the "experiences" here in Area 15! Todd English is an amazing chef and came over from the Aria so the food is high quality tasting food! Watching all the cooks was really cool you can tell they love what they do. Food comes out as it's made and it came out super fast. We were recommended to try the brisket and boy we were not disappointed! Smoking meats and brisket is tough and they nailed it!! Wasn't dry and the flavor was on point. We were really intrigued by the menu so of course we had to check it out. My husband and I shared the peanut butter and jam wings and the loaded fries. The food was good, but I think I was expecting more? I'm not sure. The wings had a dipping sauce (the jam part of the wings) but I feel like there wasn't enough for the wings. The Beast doesn't take reservations, probably because it's the only restaurant to sit down and eat at Area 15. We had to wait about 25 minutes before getting a table. We ordered the Amsterdam burger and a side of Mac and cheese. The burger had too much of a mustard taste for me, but my husband was fine with it. The Mac n cheese was a little greasy and overly spiced (see photo below), but after a few bites it surprisingly got better. Came for Valentine's Day and was seated at a high top facing the kitchen. Great view, although I wish the table was a little bigger. We ordered the Frenchie burger, Fried chicken sandwich, tuna taco, and the Korean 1/2 mozz 1/2 dog corn dog. Everything came out perfect. The frenchie came out first and the truffle was not overwhelming and perfectly cooked. The menu didn't state that the tuna in the tuna taco was served poké style! It didn't bother us, we love poké! The Korean corn dog had a yummy crunchy shell and the contents within were delicious! And lastly the fried chicken sandwich..oh the fried chicken sandwich.. it was by far the best thing we ordered. We consider ourselves fried chicken sandwich connoisseurs, and this ones slaps. I usually eat my chicken sandwich with ranch, and had asked for a some before I had tried it, but upon tasting it I realized it didn't need it at all! The meat was juicy, crispy and rolled in a sauce of some sort. After dinner we went to meet with some friends and could not stop raving about our meal. It wasn't very busy and everyone wore their masks. I heard wonderful things about the restaurant and the pictures on Yelp looked amazing. We ordered Parmesan fries as an appetizer (they accidentally sent us 2 bowls and I was so thankful). Those fries are delicious. I could have eaten them as a meal. I ordered the mushroom Marsala, parpadelle, Parmesan burro fusso as an entree and my friend ordered the Classic T.E. Double-Stack Burger. My entree was amazing. AMAZING! Her burger had a stack of potato chips skewered on top. Those chips were over done and the burger she said tasted like an In N Out Burger. Not bad, because she loves those haha. We also ordered drinks. Alien Blood & The Mermaid. The mermaid was delicious, but the Alien Blood tasted like bath salts. Don't get it. Really, really bad. Area 15.....what a cool, fun place. Didn't know what to expect. You need to check it out. The Beast was very lively, nice ambiance, chairs were miserable for a big guy. Service was spotty. Slow to respond and slow to follow up. Food was excellent. One look at the kitchen and cooks and you knew they were taking the food serious. Just missed happy hour, which looked good. This spot inside Area 15 has an almost "goth rock" vibe- it's dark, with art projection walls, candelabras, and great 90s grunge blaring. But the food is what makes it even more amazing. I had a fantastic flatbread pizza on my first visit, so when we returned I was worried I wouldn't recapture that greatness- but the Birria Queso Taco was even better! So, so good. My husband had the TE Basic Burger with a side of house made chips, which does indeed sound basic, but it was definitely elevated above your average hamburger. We tried the S'more for dessert- definitely big enough for 2 (or even 3 or 4!). It has 3 wonderful graham cracker cookies, drizzled with rich chocolate and the marshmallows truly taste like they were roasted over a campfire. Very fun! The food was just ok, factor in the price and it was disappointing. Courteous wait staff, so that's nice. We ordered a 36 Oz Tomahawk steak for $145; honestly I have had a better Porterhouse from Longhorn for $30. It left me wondering if Longhorn would ever sell a Tomahawk. The waitress boasted on the size, thickness. We were underwhelmed. The weight is likely a bone. It was extremely juicy! The Charcoal grilled shrimp were pretty awesome; large, tender and flavorful. Bang Bang Shrimp 6 for $24 is crazy. Delicious but small and few. We were actually on the hunt for a Tomahawk, of course all the steak houses on the strip were booked. Pretty good spot if you're okay with dropping some $$! They have 2 vegan options: a veggie burger and a pizza. I would've liked to see a better burger option, such as the impossible. If I'm paying $20 for a burger, it better not just be vegetables from a blender! I went with the BBQ vegan pizza. I removed the beyond sausage and instead added mushrooms. It was really good. It definitely had a kick and was the perfect size for one person. I wouldn't have had room for an appetizer or dessert. There are no vegan dessert options. There are very many cocktail options, so this would be a fun spot if you wanted to hang out and drink. They are VERY pricey, however. I ended up skipping these options. For example, a bud light is $10. A cocktail, you're looking $16+ Service was quite slow. We were there on a busy Saturday, but it would've been nice to see them hire additional staff vs waiting 20 minutes to place our order. Once we did get our order in, the food was done very quickly - we had one person's food, no joke, 5 minutes after ordering. However, it didn't all come out at the same time, so my friend started eating her burger before the rest of us got our food. After about 10 minutes, the rest of us received our food. It wasn't a great experience as our friend then had a colder meal (she wasn't comfortable eating without us). The drinks arrived after we received our food. Our waiter told us the bartenders were really slow. That was also a bit of a mishap, as I'd rather have the drink before a meal, or at the same time. Seating layout could be better, there were some tables in the middle of the walkway. Despite the price and service issues, I did enjoy the overall experience. The decor is very cool. After going through Area 15 and Omega Mart, we ate dinner at The Beast (food by Todd English). The atmosphere is more like a dark bar with projections on the walls which fits with the look of Area 15. We ordered the loaded fries, Korean hotdog, octopus, falafel burger, calzone, Korean chicken wings, and the Frenchie burger. All were good except the octopus which was too smokey tasting and overpowered the octopus. I was surprised that almost everything was good as a diverse menu can mean they do not do every cuisine well. We did order way too much food but managed to eat almost everything. A tip is if you get a burger it comes with a spiral fried potato on top so don't need to get the loaded fries. Though the loaded fries are good on their own.
