A cool history and the curiosity for the long lines brought us to be one of those people standing in line one morning. First of all, I am slightly terrified of diners thinking the service would be bad but from the moment we were greeted to when we left the place, the atmosphere has been very welcoming and friendly. Our waitress sat us at a small booth close to the kitchen. I ordered coffee and their bird nest thinking... it should be fine, it's a bird nest, not a full blow whatever other huge breakfast plates they have! I was wrong. My husband ordered their famous hashbrown omelette that I felt could have fed an entire village! My bird nest came. My eyes got really big because honestly, it was the size of an eagles' nest. I apologized profusely for not finishing and since it was our last full day before moving on from Holland, I couldn't take the leftovers home. My husband felt the same way but he at least ate half of his food. To me, I think my food needed a bit more flavor but they have salt and pepper on the table. We noted that there seemed to be a lot of regulars or repeat customers. No doubt, this place is a very nostalgic place for a lot of people who have moved away or have visited here previously. The cinnamon roll was quite yummy, big enough for 4 of us to quarter. Smothered in yummy cream cheese, all of it was delicious. Service was good, friendly and attentive. They have Delight brand coffee creamer.

My oldest enjoyed her burger, and my youngest thought the chicken was too spicy (read: peppery) but they've been uber picky lately so take that with a grain of salt (or pepper). Although we dined inside on this visit outside dining is enjoyable as well. The music selection was perfect! We all commented on it and the volume was just right. Loud enough to be enjoyed but still conversation-friendly. Boatwerks is quickly becoming our favorite restaurant. Whether we are sitting at the bar for appetizers and drinks, or enjoying dinner we have never had a food or drink that we haven't loved. Food presentation is attractive. And service is always excellent, especially at the bar.

The Biscuit is everything it's cracked up to be. Delicious unique dishes, quick table service (even if you have to wait to get a table) in a cozy little place located in a cute part of town. I had the Spanish Bennies...which were delish. Not too spicy, and not overly filling. Just right Goldilocks. I musta been a little sleepy as I didn't realize why they called the dish "bennies" until I was in my car driving away. I understood the "Spanish" part... but Duh!
