The food was OK at best. This IS NOT a BBQ joint. They "braise" their brisket. Had a hard time getting in on a Thursday, but I guess if it's a college bat cool. Don't go for a meal.

I knew it was a bad sign when my dining companion requested a margarita and the girl behind the register asked, "what's in that?" Never the less we plunged ahead (sans margarita). The menu sounded fantastic, so we ordered a few appetizers, plus a pork bowl. We did order and pay separately, but within moments of each other. However, her food arrived nearly ten minutes before mine. I love fried cauliflower, and have eaten it at numerous restaurants. This was the first time I encountered it heavily battered, and that did it no favors. It was heavy, greasy, and flavorless. The shishito peppers were even sadder- those too were battered and fried within an inch of their lives, then drenched in cheese. We eat had one bit and pushed them aside. I wasn't aware it was possible to ruin chili cheese fries, but they managed to: flavorless chili over limp fries and cooled by a poorly executed green chili "salsa." The pork bowl was the least offensive item we ordered. It was forgettable but edible. We won't be back.

    Table service at Blind Pig

We had table service at the Blind Pig and had an absolute blast! This place is the perfect combo of club, food and a great crowd! The management was great to work with and they made it easy for our group to focus on the fun! Until next time.....

Amazing service. The pho is one of the best in Tucson. Would highly recommend coming here!

    Pulled Brisket Sandwich with fries

We visited the Blind Pig on. Saturday afternoon. It was very pleasant atmosphere for a late lunch. My wife and I ordered the fried cauliflower, the coleslaw, the pulled pork tacos, and the pull brisket sandwich. Over all the food was well cooked. The cauliflower was breaded and fried. The cauliflower was very firm. On the other hand the Cole slaw had a lot of mayonnaise and was very creamy. The pulled pork tacos had tasty pork. However there was a slightly bitter taste. On the other hand the pulled brisket sandwich was tasty. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere is good. We rated the restaurant 4 stars due to the slightly bitter taste for the tacos as well as the very creamy Cole Slaw.

We stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. My first instinct was to leave because there was no one else in the restaurant but we had already paid $6 for parking and were determined. Food was ok. The pretzel bun for the Brisket sandwich was actually really good...but it was cold. A bbq sandwich bun IMO shouldn't be served cold. The macaroni and cheese was a little too dry and plain No real brewed sweet tea...come on...BBQ and sweet tea go hand in hand, if you don't have sweet tea and you're claiming to be a bbq joint...YOU'RE NOT ‍ sorry The corn bread was the best part of the meal. $47 for 3 entrees, 2 cornbreads, and 1 soda...we won't go back. There are too many BBQ places in town to eat bland or boring BBQ

    Crispy Chicken Sandwich

I've been coming here for a while for their pulled pork sandwich that is absolutely delicious. The pretzel bun adds the perfect touch to the nice balance of pork and bbq sauce. Personally one of my favorites and a must have on the menu! However, I have finally decided to switch it up and try their crispy chicken sandwich and it's exactly what I expected, delicious! I will definitely be having this again and can't wait to try the rest of their menu.

We came two nights for dinner as the first night was a hit for service, food and desired atmosphere. Its a casual to semi formal atmosphere but I can see a little relaxed casual in jeans or some sneaker paired attire. Outside seating was our preferred option on both days as the weather and tree with stringlighting decor set the tone. The staff were very attentive. The menu was pretty easy with a great selection of meal options but not excessive. This gave way to the chefs/cooks being able to serve up meals with precision, taste and presentation. First night dining- We chose cocktails Thai Grapefruit Martini and Fig and Ginger mule. These were made with perfection. We also ordered an Italian Espressotini. We decided on crispy calamari, greek salad, short rib ravioli. The service and food was so good we went a second night following. Second night dining We decided for drinks watermelon Spritz that was rimmed with a slice of watermelon and an unsweetened icetea. Meals were crispy calamari, short rib ravioli and Bolognese. Yet again the drinks and food were prepared to perfection. The food was light and very flavorful. The experience and food was so good that this will be the measure for dining in the future.

We made a reservation well in advance and even then there were limited time options. The atmosphere of the restaurant is slightly upscale while still being cozy. I love all the plants! The beets and everything that came with them was very fresh! I love anything with pickled onions. The steak appetizer was excellent and my dad could not stop talking about them. Next, I ordered the swordfish special and my dad got the pork chop. Everything was cooked to perfection and flavor was everywhere! For dessert we split the dark chocolate ganache. The ganache was very rich but paired wonderfully with the whipped cream and other flavors. I don't drink, but my dad also loved the cocktails he ordered! That whole St. Philip's area always has a great energy, and UPH is a big part of that. There's usually a crowd, live music or sports on, and it feels like one of those places where you can bring friends from out of town and know it'll be a fun time. Food is consistently solid. The grilled chicken sandwich is my go-to and it's good every time. We both usually get one, and a lot of the time we'll add buffalo wings, which are some of our favorites in Tucson. Good flavor, good texture, and always reliable. If anything, the wings could always use a little more sauce, but they're still one of the better orders on the menu. The only real issue, and it happens pretty often, is the service speed. Everyone there is friendly, but the place always feels understaffed, especially when it's busy. We've had multiple times sitting outside in the Arizona heat where it takes 15-20 minutes just to get water to the table, and you start wondering if you should go up to the bar yourself to get things moving. Once service gets going everything is fine, but getting that first round of attention can take longer than it should for how often this place fills up. Even with that, we keep coming back. The food is consistent, the atmosphere is great, and the plaza has a real sense of community that makes it easy to hang out there for a while. It's one of our go-to spots in Tucson, and it's still somewhere we bring friends when they're visiting. So many higher-end expensive restaurants serve bland, tasteless food, meanwhile this amazing mid-ranged restaurant is serving some of the best dishes I've ever had. The smashed chicken was probably the best chicken dish I have ever had at a restaurant. The skin was perfectly crispy while the meat was juicy and well-seasoned. The ginger and herb salsa verde was so fresh and aromatic. The cilantro rice complimented the lemongrass aioli perfectly. Everything was seasoned perfectly, and I'm usually one to reach for the salt shaker at most restaurants. Smoked olives are a concept I have never considered before. It's a concept that was executed perfectly here. So savory, flavorful, and complex. I'd love to have a few with a dirty martini. Speaking of drinks, my Casino gin cocktail was great. Perfect level of sweetness and tartness. I knew I had to order dessert after how good everything else was, even though I am usually not a dessert person. The oolong tea cake was nothing short of incredible. The tea flavor was subtle but paired well with the fluffy and light honey buttercream. Not too sweet at all. Of course, the service was great too.
