It's been a good while since I've been to a Boiling Crab. I've always gone to the one in Koreatown (if it's still there). Came to this one. If you don't come here when the doors open then you'll be waiting forever. The vibe is cool - with a beachy/shipwreck theme going. The inside is big with lots of tables. Tastes like i remembered - great. Got shrimp, corn, potatoes and a boiled egg with the Sha-Bang sauce (mild) and sausage. The flavors are great - buttery, lemony, peppery, and juicy. If you don't mind getting your hands dirty and working for your meal then I recommend, just get there early! read more

Everyone knows what Boiling Crab is and it shows with that crazy long wait! So definitely check in on the waitlist on yelp or else you be waiting like 3hr+ I feel like this BC is the most lively of the other BC that I've been to. It is always popping and the staff are always in a great mood. Everyone is willing to help out and with a smile. Onto what matters the most, the food! I'm a basic person so I go with their Shrimp, Whole Sha-bang medium and sometimes with a sausage if i'm feeling up to it. Most of their shrimps are fresh and you would occasionally get some soft and mushy shrimp. But, the sauce is the real reason why you come, tons of cajun buttery spicy goodness that goes over rice so well. Unfortunately, the rice has been underdone each time i've gotten it, but drench it in sauce and you'll be alright. The wife gets potatos with her bag and its always cooked to perfection, holds it shape but moment you bite into it kinda of a mash potato texture. Fries are always a hit, probably one of the best fries from a restaurant i've gotten. There has been times where I get 2 orders. Parking is horrible, it is shared with tons of other popular stores so plan accordingly. Food, atmosphere, and service is great. Parking, wait time sucks. Highly recommended. Food there is amazing but this location always runs oit of shoft shell crab and blie crab. no biggie though, the service there is quick, efficient and prompt. This place is always a treat if you enjoy seafood boils. The place has a very cool energy to it with cool decor and they allow customers to write or post stickers on certain sections of the restaurant. The food is always on point and delicious. Been a long-time Boiling Crab fan, I even ate at the original Brookhurst location in Westminster, CA when it first opened, and I've visited nearly all their locations since. Lately, though, I've noticed the flavor and quality slipping a bit. The oysters used to have that clean, briny taste, but that's become less noticeable. The shrimp also feels soft after boiling, which usually means it isn't as fresh as it should be. The fries are still great, and the fried soft-shell crab was a nice addition to the meal. Let me tell you a story about a guy named Kyle. He dreams of opening up his own boiling crab one day. Until then, he treats all his guests with the utmost amount of kindness, along with friendliness. Kyle believed to be the best he could. He made sure tables were cleaned off before the next guests arrived. He made sure there was no dry cup in sight. All cups were filled to the brim, gloves were handed out left and right, napkin dispensers filled. Everything was perfect, until THE spill. Kyle rushed over to grab a cone and clean up that awful spill, like a superhero. He cleaned up the spill and took care of the rest of his guests. Peace was restored and TBC was saved. Goated. You already know what's up. Reliable and always hits the spot for me. I love their Cajun fries and I always get their crawfish, live or frozen it's good. Tried their lobster roll for the first time, pricey for the amount I think you could skip this unless you're dying for it. My friend and I just finished our oceanography class so we wanted to commemorate with a good ol seafood boil! Unfortunately we were broke college students so we just got the shrimp with potatoes lol. The blue crab was also not available :( But it was soo yummy! We got to spread it out on the table and eat it with our gloved hands. We also got the fried catfish and fries and it was also very good. The Cajun seasonings were very flavorful and yummy. There were a lot of tables and very spacious but it was so crowded we still had to wait to get seated. The service was great and nice. I can see why this place is so popular. Would highly recommend that you use the waitlist in Yelp. They use it when you come in and request a table you are put on the list. The food was very good, shrimp was a little on the overcooked side but the flavor was delicious. I love that they bring you limes and peppers to the table without asking. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant and restroom are very clean and I love that they have sinks in the outside area so you can wash after eating and not go to the bathroom. Went to the Boiling Crab in Rowland Heights for the first time and it was super! The seafood was so fresh and tasty, as were the add-ons (eggs, corn, potatoes). We got the shebang. Mild seasoning, which was delicious and only produced a slight tingling of the tongue so that you could taste the food. But the real star was our waiter, Isaiah. He was hustling and had a few large parties in addition to smaller tables like ours. We didn't want for anything. I come here for the chicken tenders and the lemon pepper fries , but my family loves the shrimp here , so 100% recommend the shrimp . I went for a date with my girlfriend and went on the waiting list before we got there through yelp, the wait was about 2 hours but we had well over 70 people ahead of us so i recommend joining the waitlist about 1 1/2 hours before you want to eat. When we got in the service was casual but good, and the food was great! I definitely recommend the whole shebang sauce and their fries. The shrimp wasn't as expensive as i thought it would be, listed as market price it was about $18 a pound currently and while i though $8 was a little expensive for a sausage link at first it was well enough sausage for 2 people to share. The service and wait time of this place is fast if you place yourself on the waiting list. However, not always the case when it's packed because you still have to wait 20-30 mins still. Used to dine here quite frequently years ago and recently stopped by again. We had a great time with food and the taste and flavor is still decent, and service is excellent. However it's no longer the first place I'd think of stopping by now if I crave seafood. A one star deduction due to price and flavor. With several other similar restaurants available in the neighborhood, I've found other smaller seafood places to provide more flavorful offerings for the same quantity and at lower price point but at equal quality. The impression left here each time is that I walk out with a higher bill compared to similar seafood restaurants, yet the flavor is not better at the same portion. If you don't mind the price, The Boiling Crab is still a good place to dine. I like to explore restaurants, so I may try other places before returning again. read more
