I have heard nothing but good about this place, so I made a few attempts to visit. Make sure to check Facebook for hours before driving over. Right off of Congress, maybe 2 blocks South of 290. I think I can't say enough good things about the service. One of the nicest, most sincere people I've ever met. They definitely deserve the rave reviews, for the service alone. I tried 5 flavors, shared with a group of friends. I think amaretto was the agreed favorite. Next the classic NY cheesecake. I also enjoyed cookies and cream. The orange cream was worth trying, very enjoyable. The crust was everyone's favorite part. Thick, firm, flavorful. I wish I knew the secret, I'll be working on trying to replicate the crust at home. So, I need to be honest...I got just the tiniest hint of a soapy flavor with each bite. But it was only me, and I have no idea why. No one else could at all. All my friends, husband and kids loved them. Maybe my tongue is weird (like people who think olives taste bitter). Maybe with covid going on I got some kind of chemical/antibiotic on the pieces I tried. The trailer's name is very fitting as biting into the "bite sized" cheesecakes is a blissful experience. They make over 30 flavors of their artisan cheesecakes and are priced at $3. I took a classic, apple cinnamon and the raspberry white chocolate to go. When I got home and opened the pretty pink box Jesse and I spilt them in halves so we could indulge in all 3 flavors. All of them had the perfect texture and were delicious! The classic stood up well on its own but I do prefer something a little extra on my cheesecake. The apple and cinnamon was subtle and light. The richer raspberry chocolate was my absolute favorite! Midway is very kid friendly and dog friendly. I was craving cheesecake, so naturally I looked up best cheesecake in Austin and I came across this place. She sells cheesecake in a food truck, but let me just tell you she should have a cute little bakery for everything she puts out. The first couple times I came to see if she was there her food truck was closed. (Note: she's only available Thursday through Sunday.) If you order at least a week in advance she will make you any cheesecake off her list! If you see one that's not on there that you'll like she will make you it! The cheesecake were the bomb and can I say her service was the best I've ever received! She was sweeter than the 12 cheesecakes I devoured in a day. Keep up the good work! The service was super friendly and informative. For those with wheat sensitivities, I was able to just scrape off the thin crumb bottom without any issues. Some of her flavors have ingredients that have wheat baked in like the butter crunch, so I went for the strawberry instead. The cheesecake actually had bits of strawberry baked throughout. The flavor was well balanced between strawberry and cheese and wasn't too sweet. The texture was light and fluffy and it melted with every bite. Having lived in NYC for over 5 years automatically qualifies me as a cheesecake expert. Now that we have that established, I'm happy to announce that Celia Jacobs knows how to make damn good cheesecake. In my first visit, I tried the Black Forrest (4 out of 5), original (5 out of 5), and Neapolitan (5 out of 5). As many others have mentioned, the portions are small and you'll need probably 3 of these $3 delights to match the equivalent of a normal piece of cheesecake so they are a little on the pricey side. But you're on Yelp which means you care about food... I'd rather pay $9 for the best than $6 for all the rest. read more

I'm not generally a cheesecake person...except here. They make the BEST cheesecake I've ever, ever had. That's pretty much all you need to know to get yourself there asap, but yelp tells me this review is shorter than most, and I could certainly say more about this place. I first had their little cakes on Rainey Street, where I discovered their big green airstream and met the wonderful women who both bake and sell the cakes themselves. I have more recently tried their Midway location, which is super far from me, but worth it for the aesthetic of the place. I've had a shameful number of their flavors by now, including (but not limited to) some of my favorites: NYC vanilla, strawberry, blueberry, lemonade, peanut butter, coffee, cookies n creme, butter crunch (like a butterfinger but waaaaaay better) cookie dough, red velvet, dark chocolate, white chocolate, and that crazy one they had at the 4th of July that had three flavors!? Each one was equally as good...each bite was equally flavored as the previous. When I tell you these are the real deal...THEY ARE! As if that wasn't enough, the over the top customer service sealed the deal for me. Thank you, Dessert God, for placing Celia Jacobs' delectable cheesecakes so near to my home. I'm not a big dessert person, so I almost missed out on these tasty delights. I'm eager to fulfill my intermittent sweets cravings with one of her many cheesecake varieties. Each day, she offers different cheesecake varieties. When we stopped by her food truck at the Midway Food Park on 360 South, she had Oreo, strawberry, turtle, and New York-style cheesecake bites. Though they are BITES, I'd say they're a solid 3 bites if you tend to scarf your food. If you're going to enjoy every blissful taste, it could be up to 8 bites. And those bites are worth it. After enjoying our 1st of 3 cheese cakes (Oreo, strawberry, New York-style), I looked Celia up on Facebook to see her other varieties. My God. She has about 30 varieties and all of them sound equally as decadent as the ones I tasted. Having recently had the most disappointing cheesecake at Siena, I was pleasantly surprised to learn of a nice local truck producing quality cheesecake Wednesday-Sunday from 11am-9pm (check for daily hour changes). Celia needs to show up at Siena with her own version of lemon marscapone cheesecakes to blow the Siena chefs out of the water. How awesome would it be to get a cheesecake gig with Siena? Now, I know how it is. Sometimes, when you hear great things about a restaurant or a movie, you set this unreasonable expectation when you experience that thing. No, the cheesecakes aren't magical. You're not going to eat them and get skinny, eat them and discover the cure for cancer, or eat them and become a 5-star pastry chef. Disappointment comes from having expectations that aren't met. Upon visiting today I realized this was the same place that used to be on Rainey Street, which I visited a year or so ago. Both times I've been here, Celia and/or her staff have been extremely warm and friendly and the Cheesecake was easily warranting of a 5 star review as well. Perfectly rich, creamy and not overly sweet at all, and the crusts are perfection on the NY Cheesecake. Typically I go for more adventurous flavors of anything when given the option, and I probably never would have chosen the standard NY Cheesecake flavor on my own, but I came for Truck by Truckwest today and had a sample of it and have to say it was amazing. Simple, but perfect and good enough to get me to buy 4 more to bring home with me. The miniature sizes are perfect for a non-gluttonous dessert or to sample a few different flavors. Groovy, baby. This van looks like it came out of an Austin Powers movie . Look for the one with hippie flowers painted all over- you can't miss it. The ladies at the truck were really talkative, and they are clearly passionate about their cheesecakes. They gave me a preview of what's to come on their fall menu- pumpkin and winter spice (AKA snickerdoodle). Um, YES. Yet another reason to look forward to the fall, in addition to Starbucks PSL's, oversized sweaters, and leaves changing colors (oh wait, that doesn't happen here). I tried all of the flavors that day- Oreo, Chai, caramel apple, and New York style. It's really everything you'd want in a cheesecake. Creamy, rich, and good crust to cheese ratio. Oh, that crust. I especially liked the caramel apple. You get cheesecake and apple pie in one- best of both worlds! The New York style was weakest; I'd skip that one. THE BEST CHEESECAKE IN AUSTIN. I challenge you to find a cheesecake in Austin with a more amazing crust than the ones offered by Celia Jacobs. Like most normal people in the world, I think the crust is the best part of a slice of cheesecake. The crust that is on the mini cheesecakes here have an awesome crunch and texture to them that others just do not have. Ms. Jacobs is also a very friendly person. She gave us the run down on her daily flavors, showed us each of the cheesecakes available, and explained how her menu changes weekly. She also mentioned with a 3-4 day notice, you can request a flavor and she will custom bake you an order of a dozen or so. Originally, the GF and I got 4 mini cheesecakes: 2 NY originals, 1 white chocolate, and 1 Lemonade. It was a really hot day, so we decided to go back to the car and eat them in the comfort of cold AC. 10 minutes later, I went back to Ms. Jacobs for a second round of an additional 3 mini cheesecakes... The NY original and white chocolate were both damn amazing. While I am not a big fan of lemon flavored desserts, the lemonade cheesecake here was really quite good. Very refreshing, with the texture of the classic cheesecake with a hint of lemon flavor. Not overpowering like I was anticipating. But to be honest, you can put a pile of shit on this cheesecake crust and I would still give it 4 stars lol... The price at the moment is $3 each mini. I'd say 3-4 of the minis are comparable to 1 full sized cheesecake slice. So its definitely not cheap. BUT, it is worth the price. Go try this great food truck. It is worth the calories. If you don't know already, you will now! I'm from NY and know good cheesecake, and Celia's is exquisite! The outer texture of the NY bite is very much like a traditional NY style cheesecake, but when you go right past that initial layer, the cream inside is just a smidgen lighter and fluffier than it's richer cousin. I've always felt that the heaviness of a traditional cheesecake is a bit too much for a dessert, so this lighter variation is perfect! Also, it's slightly more spiced than is traditional, but that doesn't change the overall flavor pallet, it just gives the original one more depth. This delightful cake is then placed on a light and crispy crust, which is the ideal vessel for the confection. Celia's Cheesecake Bites create the perfect bite, which is what everyone should strive for. read more

Their signature dish for the competition was simply their New York Style Cheesecake. HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT! You remember that scene in Disney's Ratatouille, where Anton Ego tries Remy's dish and it is so good that he is instantly transported back to his childhood at his loving mother's table and a single tear falls from his eye? It's that good. It's transportingly good. It's so good I'm angry at it and I DON'T know why! Let me try to describe what I put in my mouth to you: A cheesecake that that was such an extraordinary achievement of culinary craft that the first flavor note was coconut, despite there being none in it. That turned into a creamy, almost vanilla-flavored transcendence perfectly enhanced by the finest, hand made graham cracker crust I may have EVER tasted, that perfectly crumbled and spread itself evenly in the mouth to lend a truly remarkable, utterly satisfying texture to the bite. And then ended on a flavor note of honey, so perfect in it's recreation that you would swear it had to be an ingredient. It was magnificent, honestly. A show-stealer. Also, it was served to me at the hand of the smiling, beautiful co-owner who to my shame, I cannot remember the name of, who readily answered my questions and who sincerely sought my comments and critique of the entry. Her personality and verve for the business was obvious and charming. She and her partner will provide you with nothing less that the finest cheesecake you may ever eat, served with a professional and hospitable attitude, at a good price.
