This coffee bean has the nicest and coolest staff! I enjoy coming here on a weekly basis and if you download the app you save on your orders! Super easy and helpful. I appreciate Jenny for constantly asking if I had the app, in which I then decided to download it lol matcha iced tea is my go to but on hotter days the tropical passion iced tea is the way to go!

The cold brew seems kinda bitter, I dunno if it's another type of bean they use versus regular but I wouldn't get that again, unless it's just a bad batch.

You are paying for both quality and taste, and it is a lot of self service in different ways, but the people who make the food and the ingredients they use, you can tell are pretty good. This is gonna be your typical LA scene where they're seating on the street and everyone is talking about the next movie or show they are doing. I really like the decor and the variety of baked goods. They also have a restroom for customers.

When I tried to take a sip, the lid shifted and the hot tea spilled onto my leg, burning my lip and causing a significant burn on my leg. Over the next several days, the burn blistered and the skin peeled. I contacted the café privately and sent photos because I wanted to give them an opportunity to respond before posting publicly. Unfortunately, I never received a reply. I'm sharing this so others can be aware. Hot beverages should be served safely, lids should be secure, and customers should be warned when a drink is hot enough to cause burns. I hope the café takes this seriously and improves its safety practices.

This point is key as this neighborhood can be tricky to park in during peak business hours even though there are several metered spots available in front of the shop and on surrounding streets. I recently visited on a Friday morning and found nearby parking within walking distance, and you could also park at the nearby library and walk if the cafe if circling around for a spot is getting you nowhere. Now, on to the cafe itself! Verve offers a variety of drinks along with pastries for sale, and they even hosted a cookbook popup during my recent visit. I usually get espresso-based drinks or their cold brew, and I've never been disappointed by the drink quality or the time it takes to prepare my beverages. There's ample seating both indoors and outdoors, and I could see why this would be a popular spot for reading or getting work on your laptop done.

The matcha latte is a must. Their breakfast sliders are incredibly fluffy, fresh, and light--I always add both avocado and bacon, and it's the perfect combo. But the real star for me? The pistachio spread toast. It might honestly be my favorite thing on the menu, even more than the sliders or the matcha. Now for the reality check: be prepared to wait. Anywhere from 30-50 minutes is pretty normal, and if you show up later in the day, there's a good chance they'll already be sold out some of the items. I got there before they opened at 8 a.m., and the line was already around the corner. LA people are professional line waiters lol. The one upside is that it's far enough east that you don't get the full 405 west crowd bcz its "too east 405" to show up... so there's that. ;))) A couple of downsides: there's no indoor seating, and the inside has a pretty strong greasy kitchen smell. Don't be surprised if your clothes smell like the restaurant after you leave. Even with all that, this is still an easy 5-star spot for me. Great food, excellent matcha, and a pistachio toast I'll happily wait in line again with the LA unemployed crowd that stresses out that they can't make it to their pilates class bcz of the long line... :))

It has a nice, smooth flavor without being too sweet and it's worth trying if you're a matcha lover. The downside is the line. There's so many fun options on the menus from scrumptious desserts, hot and cold beverages like teas and coffees. I had to have an iced boba beverage. So yummy.
