I tend to stop by every now and then whenever I'm in the neighborhood. Parking tends to be a hit or miss along the street and neighborhood which is where I alway park. But out of all the times I've been here, I never noticed that there's a lot in the back of the building that's covered....lol.... Clearly I wasn't paying attention. The place is decent size not overly big. A fairly good amount of seating inside which the layout is somewhat simple. There's a decent size patio seating out front which is covered and looks out to the street. So it can be quite noisy. A neighbor coffee shop that's has its regulars. I tend to pick up a bagel which I love their jalapeño cheese. Not most coffee places carries them so it's alway a treat whenever I'm here. Service has alway been great. The staff are alway pretty friendly and sweet. Of all the times I've been, it seems more of a neighborhood spot as everyone seems to know each other. read more

Good spot past the madness at the Grove. That locations good on its own but I have my doggos with me today and I need to get work done for real. Running too close to my personal deadline to have to do bark management with all the foot traffic. Neighborhood parking is available usually. Some amount of indoor seating but we sat outside. I had a deal on the app so that's usually what brings me to these places. It works on occasion, good tactic. The cold brew seems kinda bitter, I dunno if it's another type of bean they use versus regular but I wouldn't get that again, unless it's just a bad batch. I went to the one in The Grove location in Los Angeles. I ordered 2 coffees one with cream and artificial sweetener only and the other 1 with 2 artificial sugar only. He gave me both with cream. I told him that I ordered only one with cream and he insisted that he did not hear me order it. It's false because my husband cannot take any cream and he will get sick if takes it. The guy told me that he cannot make a change. He did not want to change it at all and was very snooty and rude to me. After a long conversation he did changed it and very upset about it. read more

I could be wrong but The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is what I thought of and considered to be more of an exquisite quality coffee and from reading their roots statement; TCBTL consider themselves to be "the best global coffee and tea to Southern California; known for quality and excellence and known as a gourmet coffee scene". Well based on my experience recently at the location on Hauser and 3rd; that was not my experience. I ordered a holiday mint mocha coffee and wanted coconut milk as that is really the only milk I can properly digest; however they were limited to only Almond or Oat (not so gourmet to me). I really wanted some coffee and figured let me go with the Almond; however I noticed the guy pouring the Oat. I inquired if that was the Almond milk and the guy stated that you said Oat and I replied that I'm pretty sure I said Almond because I absolutely can not drink Oat. He proceeded to appear to re-make it but I'm betting that he ended up giving me the order with the Oat because I had one of the worse experiences and reaction to the dairy. Now what I will say is that the TCBTL prices are definitely gourmet and would be consistent with quality and excellence that I definitely have no problem paying $7 for a small latte when and if it really gave me a gourmet experience; allowing me to have more dairy/non dairy choices. To say the least I'm pretty sure I won't be visiting that establishment again and unfortunately that representation of The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf corporation did not leave a longing taste to return to any of them. read more

I been frequenting this coffee shop a lot lately. I love getting their dry iced hazelnut americano with a splash of oat milk (thank me later lol). The service is quick and efficient especially if jenny, the barista, is there. This place is in a nice neighborhood, not to be confused from the farmers market location. They have free parking inside the garage but it's very limited. Restroom and dining area is clean as well as the patio. This is a great place to meet up with friends or get some work done. To start off, I'm reviewing the Coffee Bean located on Third St. and Martel and not the one at The Grove. Okay now that that's out of the way, I miss the way this Coffee Bean used to be. I've been coming to this one for years. I remember it never used to be hard to get a seat and the music was less obtrusive. It used to be one of my favourite Coffee Bean locations to have a coffee and just chill out. Fast forward to now and it's like night and day with how it's changed unfortunately. It's always super busy, music is always blaring even at night when there's just a few patrons, and the employees seem to act nicer to each other than to their actual customers. Or they seem to be very picky to just who they're friendly to and seem to exhibit a "you look suspicious to me" vibe to just about everyone else, no matter how many times a customer like myself has been going there. And I get a TikTok influencer vibe from the customers that go there now. It's almost like it's become a pitstop for snobby rich people who are on their way to shop at expensive stores on the newly revamped Fairfax Ave. or The Grove. Sometimes things are smooth here but unfortunately it's become really hit or miss in terms of customer service and general pleasantness in terms of the clientele and atmosphere. read more

PSA: DAIRY POWDER IN MOST DRINKS I consider this a public service announcement to customers. I just moved to LA from Seattle and the coffee options here are underwhelming to say the least. Most egregiously, at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, none of the flavored coffee drinks can be made without dairy as ALL the drinks contain "powder" and ALL the powders contains dehydrated dairy (even the vanilla latte). It's unclear why they think someone ordering a drink with alt milk would want dairy powders as well, but clearly they don't care about their customers. If you are lactose intolerant, plant-based, veg, vegan, or just prefer alt milk, AVOID Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. I won't ever be going back to any of their locations until they change their ingredients. read more

I ordered a 32 ounce cold brew with specific ingredients and instructions on how to make it a perfect blend of coffee along with the desired sweetness. The barista made a small sized and I advised her that I ordered a 32 ounce. After watching her poor the small coffee into a 32 ounce cup. She filled the rest of the cup with ice. I immediately advised her I noticed what she did ; I told her I wanted her to Make the drink over in the correct way with the fair amount that I ordered. While I don't have an opinion on the app services, I can say that as a visitor of LA, this place defines what good classic coffee tastes like. Their Vanilla Bean Latte has just the right amount of sweetness while not sacrificing the boldness from the coffee beans, reminding you that this ain't your mothers coffee. For a location in such a busy area (Farmer's Market at 3rd and Fairfax) one would think that management might put a premium on customer service. I am only reviewing after MANY bad experiences here. I kept thinking that the complete lack of care of the employees, rudeness, and botched orders were each a one-off, but now it is clearly their modus operandi. The last straw was recently. Understandably there are intelligent Covid protocols: No more than 2 people in store + 2 employees. I would think that with the small number of orders that this would mean they could actually get the order right (Spoiler: NOPE). I order a latte with a Splenda and 2% milk. This is literally THE ONLY ORDER they are working on, and they manage to get BOTH things wrong lol. Regular milk and no sweetener added. With the bad attitude thrown in for free after I pointed out the mistakes and asked for my money back (since at that time who wants to even give money to this location at this point?) I am a regular customer almost everyday and I forgot my mask, Mary the supervisor (22July at 1:30PM) gave me a very hard time not accepting that i was covering my mouth and nose with my thick jacket (better than one layer mask) to just place an order and sit on my chair and made me to leave the store. She could be much more professional and ask me for the next time to make sure to bring my mask! Her reason was the mask should be attached to your face and it is written on the entry door. 1) There are scarf mask and also removable! She really disappointed me as the regular customer and felt very much forced for no reason, specially I had to go back to bring my mask, as I had a zoom meeting....as I was covering my face and addressing the purpose of having a mask!! I love this Coffee Bean! It's a close distance from my apartment and I always feel safe walking there. The vibe is much more relaxed than a Starbucks and I never have to wait for more than a couple minutes in line. The coffee is probably the cheapest in the area, but it's just as tasty. I've only had the cold brew which is really strong. At their additive table, they have liquid sugar which I prefer a lot more than the sugar packets. They're pastries look delicious (even though I've never eaten one) but their sandwiches are overpriced for what you're getting. They have a few tables inside, but they don't have a ton of seating. It's more of a grab-and-go shop. I definitely recommend this place if you want some delicious, cheap, fast coffee! read more

TLDR: tasty coffee and nice people! This is my neighborhood CBTL and I feel so lucky! The staff are welcoming and kind and although I'm not in there so regularly that they know me, I love that when I walk in there I almost always hear staff greeting customers by name and with a smile. The manager, Marvin, seems to create such a positive environment. Recently I've had more interaction with the crew who opens the store in the morning and they are especially nice (thanks, Evan!) to me in my pre-caffeine state. read more

This is my go-to place for coffee/tea on the way to work. There's a few spots in the parking lot, but if it's full, street parking is plentiful in the mornings. The store is on the corner and there's some tables/umbrellas outside to chill, as well as the usual comfy chair or two inside. I love the staff here. Always greeted with a friendly smile and conversation to follow. As warm as the coffee. Speaking of the coffee, I feel this location is always very consistent with how they make the drinks. This cb is very convenient just a few blocks east of the famous Farmers' Market. The Staff is good. There is also nice outdoor seating with solar power shade stands with usb power ports to charge computers smart phones etc. The main drawbacks are the small size, very loud fire engines going by regularly and vagrants walking by who steal stuff, act crazy so keep an eye if you sit outside(I had a battery stolen). I am a die hard fan of Coffee Bean and have been for a very long time. In fact, I travel out of my way two miles daily just to get my Coffee Bean fix. The coffee and flavors are far superior to its competitors. I couldn't figure out why they kept closing so many stores until today. I use the app daily out of convenience since I am literally going out of my way to this location to get my order. Might as well be ready for me when I arrive. Today was just like everyday except when I went to pick it up my order wasn't ready. I showed the baristas my order and for whatever reason the app switched to a store that I have never once ordered from before. I order from this same exact store every single day and the app tracks the order so the history is easily shown. The barista said it happens all the time and that he would make me my drink. That was a very kind gesture and a nice relief. The manager or other barista, a woman with multiple hair colors came up and said if I wanted a refund I needed to call the store that I have never been to. I replied that's ok he is nice enough to make me a new one. She then replied "yes but I will have to charge you." In that moment it's very clear why all the Coffee Beans are closing down. Lack of customer service and not appreciating their loyal customers. As a regular it was appalling for her to take this stance when she could have just easily made the drink and given it to me. They do have a spillage allowance as all establishments account for things of this nature. In the midst of a pandemic she suggested that I go into a crowded Coffee Bean at the Grove and threaten my safety. No thanks. I also use the app for convenience and don't want to have to call a busy store and haggle to remove a charge because the app made an error. That defeats the entire purpose of being convenient. I will use the remainder of my $10 on my pre-paid card and delete the app and will NEVER visit a Coffee Bean again and just watch them disappear one by one because they don't value their loyal customers. read more

The coffee and pastries were good. The staff was friendly and helpful. That said, even though I was not there during the morning rush, the impression of the store was that it was messy. While baristas were happily chatting away on one occasionn, the tables had not been wiped down, the rest room was needing a cleanup (although a barista went to clean up when I mentioned that it the paper towels were out), the tables and chairs needed to be put in order, and the floor could have used a quick sweep.
