It mostly came across as generic black coffee without much sweetness, clarity, or complexity. The milk and espresso never really came together, and the drink quickly lost its structure. It lacked the smooth, integrated texture that I look for in a well-executed cortado. The cup choice also didn't fit the drink--it was too large and wide for a cortado and took away from both the presentation and the overall experience. That said, the barista was friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated the service. My feedback is strictly about the drink itself. Overall, this cortado just missed the mark for me. Between the temperature, lack of flavor clarity, poor integration, and the cup choice, it wasn't the experience I expect from a specialty coffee shop. No adjustments necessary, and they had the right amount of sweetness. The sliders were very tasty, and it came in four with two sauces on the side. There are plenty of seats available outdoors and a little space indoors. The person taking our order and the baristas were nice and made sure we had everything as well. This particular shop is incredibly popular and always full but if you're lucky you'll get a seat in their adorable little outdoor area. Once again, I'm obsessed with the aesthetics at a Verve location. They really seem to focus on rustic wood vibes inside and incorporating nature in a fun way.
