We came to eat a few nights ago with family visiting from Hawaii. We waited at the front hostess area for a few minutes while the hostess and manager were wiping menus nearby. The bartender was the first to acknowledge us and kindly told us it would be a few minutes. Then the manager told the hostess to seat us and she came over very unhappy. She didn't greet us or thank us for our patience and then when she took us to our table, she put the menus down and just walked away while we were thanking her. Carla, our waitress came over with a friendly smile and was so kind. She provided suggestions to my mom since she was unsure which wine to order. My mom ended up going with the Waterbrook Chardonnay and loved it. Then when our seafood feasts came out, there were too much seasonings on the corn and potatoes for my 7-year old niece, that Carla offered to bring a few unseasoned versions. Carla took really good care of us and we appreciated her friendly, caring nature and would recommend requesting her section when visiting. This establishment is so lucky to have her! We had such a great experience at The Crab Pot and a huge part of that was thanks to Harrison. He was attentive, warm, and incredibly personable from the moment we sat down. Even after what I'm sure was a very busy Valentine's Day the night before, he still managed to show up with such positive energy and an easygoing attitude. Food was okay. I guess crab is expensive so the price is somewhat justified. Service was not bad. The wait staff seems a bit clunky and disorganized. Overall this establishment has the feel of a failing business. Mainly discounting stars for the ambiance. Upon being served, a guy came up to our table and started taking photos and having us make hand gestures to pose for the pictures. This caught us off guard. After finishing our meal, the guy comes up with tons of framed pictures and sets them on the adjacent table. This kind of forced reciprocity shouldn't be allowed while in an establishment, especially without a heads up. It's evidently a cash grab by both the photographer and the management and has no place in any respected place of business. read more

I love a place with a unique experience, and The Crab Pot delivers. If you order a "Feast," you get a bib and mallet, and they pour the seafood into the middle of the table on butcher paper! I then had an order of Oysters Rockefeller, which I enjoyed. They were warm and creamy and perfect to dip bread into. My dad and I ordered "The Clambake" feast for two. It was an assortment of clams, oysters, crabs, and more. The clams, oysters, and mussels were great, but the crab was a little dry - I imagine it's hard to time all the different seafood cooking times in one pot. The feast had plenty of butter, and wearing the bib and eating with my hands was fun. We ordered the Mud Pie for dessert, which was a colossal piece of pie! I have been there about a year ago and service was extremely slow and I thought it's time to try it again. I was there on a Sunday at 6pm a lot of staff and restaurant was 1/3 full. This is the sister location to the one located on the waterfront which is where I dined in the past. The location is under major construction in the parking lot and front of the restaurant. Once you make it inside, the location has a rustic feel and has patio seating out the back which overlooks the water. As far as the service, it leaves quite a bit to be desired. During the time there, heard multiple staff members complaining amongst themselves and often just chatting since the restaurant was not very busy. It definitely was quite the opposite from prior visits to the waterfront location. Often had to wait to flag down another server in order to get drink refills. Now to the food. Ordered The Alaskan, which is the same thing we got in the past, and while the price has gone up, the portion size paled in comparison. Not sure if it was a location difference, or if it has really shrunk that much. I'd have to say 35-40% less, and the seafood was mostly overcooked. Was disappointed to say the least as enjoyed the prior visits. May have to head back to the waterfront location and wait 90+ min. to see if that experience and portion size has changed. It has been years since we tried the Seattle waterfront location so we used a teenager's birthday as an excuse to check out the Bellevue location as a family. We went during lunch hours on a weekend and the restaurant was pretty much empty. We had made a reservation anyway so we were seated right away and service was friendly and courteous. We ordered The Alaskan and the one that also has lobster. I think we ordered about 7 total and ordered a couple of kids' meals for a group of 10. I think it is a pretty unique experience to be able to have all the food poured on the table in front of you and everybody just digs in. We came here for this particular experience. Yes, you can definitely get better quality seafood and value somewhere else. But I think this unique experience is fun for the whole family. I've never seen is truly packed, but when I come the window seats are highly coveted. Especially if you're coming in the summer, I highly suggest sitting near the windows. All seating is made of wood, which gives the restaurant a pirate ship feel. Very authentic! Food I highly suggest getting a feast, which is essentially a big pot of seafood. They have 5-6 types of feasts to choose from, which vary greatly in terms of offerings between clams, mussels, shrimp, crab, and lobster, along with potatoes and sausage. We decided to get the Alaskan, which had: Dungeness, Snow, and King crab, clams and mussels, and shrimp. It was an amazing experience, and paired great with old bay and butter! As much as I loved all the food, it was a little bit too much food. Luckily, they do provide to-go boxes if you want to take your meal home. Service All the servers are amazing. An OK place for Seafood boils, close to downtown Bellevue. This restaurant harkens back to a different time: big dining area, white folks crowding around a table, using mallets to eat seafood/crusteans with their hands, a place that would not be out of place at Fisherman's Wharf in San Fran. ....but with the proliferation of ethnic seafood places, there is a lot more seafood competition for the hardearned dollar. The Crab Pot has three locations: 2 in the Seattle area, but the other in Long Beach and we HAD been to the LBC before, so wanted to take our daughter to this location. It wasn't very crowded at all on a Monday night, and in fact, they had a sign that last seating was only 7 pm. We had a reservation for 6:30, so the benefit was we got very dedicated service (plenty of servers for the number of diners left), and the food was prepared quickly. But the place was pretty empty. It sits on the 'shores' of a man-made 'lake' (more the size of a large pond), but I imagine it would be very pretty on a sunny afternoon. We got a nice window seat. Water was given quickly, and a nice delicious sour dough loaf was given. Two of us ordered the 'The Cove' Seafood feast, which requires a minimum of 2 at $32.95 per person. There was a lot of food: large well cooked red potatoes (good that it wasn't pre-quartered, and it was cooked well through), couple of corn ears, and plenty of head-on shrimp, mussels, and some small clams, along with slices of cajun sausage It's all tossed in just old-bay seasoning. It tasted OK, but the shrimp was of smaller size and came from frozen and I'm guessing the mussels were frozen as well. The sausage was delicious, and the corn was well cooked. My wife ordered the crab mac and cheese ($18.95), and it might have been the best thing we ate. As promised, there was a decent amount of real crab meat in the dish, and the consistency of the sauce was perfect. The final dish was the Salmon Fillet for $29.95. The food was OK, blackened and moist. It came with the same red potatoes and mixed, steamed vegetables. The service was excellent, but the ambience wasn't great (very empty inside), and the food was OK, similar to what you would expect at tourist areas. For the four of us, the bill came out to around $126 (not including tip)...and would have been double that if we had ordered crab or lobstor. With all the seafood inspired restaurants in the Seattle area, there are better choices if willing to travel a bit. read more
