Ok, let's break this down. This place is decent, but honestly trying too hard with its food selection. Lil' Piggy Mac and Cheese- Heavy smoke and pork flavor with some underlying vinegar essence. Not great and certainly not designed for kids. Burger- Brioche bun was a nice touch, burger itself juicy enough. Again, some flavor profile I can't exactly identify and I'm not sure is good. Pickles were WAY too sweet. Husband liked it, son only got through a quarter of it before giving up. Waffle fries- The Star of the show with the homemade ranch. Don't miss these gems. Tater tots- Hmmmm..... these were head scratchers. Not your typical toys. More like slightly burnt shredded potatoes. Dipped in enough ketchup they were not too bad. Cole slaw- Wow, make sure you have something cold to wash the heat down with. The spice level was off the hook. Hot dog and chips- Ordered as a replacement to the Mac and cheese my daughter refused to eat. Not bad, not great. Irish salad with steak- Drowning in anchovy heavy dressing and packed full of giantic pieces or pork fat. I could feel my arteries clogging after 3 bites. Ate the steak, left the salad. Bahn Mi Sandwich- I didn't try this one myself but our friends reported it as tasty. Beer selection was amazing and delicious. I give it 5 stars for that. read more

Food: Roasted Peach and Goat Cheese Sourdough Flatbread Rating 7/10 Crust was solid but I think that everything would've benefited from a bit more thought- cheeses (as other reviewers noted) were inconsistently melted- but hey, mammoth folks might not be obsessed with melty cheese- so the flatbread should be put in the oven with just the cheese and onions, to get a consistency of browning and melting, hit it with the goat cheese and peaches halfway but the peaches should already be roasted peaches, not peaches being roasted on the pizza. That one thing makes the execution of the flatbread a bit soggy, and they overdid the goat cheese a bit. Not too mad because I love goat cheese but still, just throwing these suggestions out there to the chefs. It was still tasty. Arugula would've been better than whatever thry currently have on top of it. I hope to try a fig? Or someone in the reviews said black currant? I'll be back. Churro Fries Rating 9/10 Love. Only thing is they skimp on the sugar in the dough and the dusting to encourage your use of the sauces for obvious reasons. A powdered sugar option might solve this for me. And boysenberry jam, and other jam options. Maybe make them a tiny bit thinner. Ok I'll shut up now. Still NOM. Cider: Lemongrass and Rose. Lemongrass was better. Below average food. Complete disappointment. Menu sounds like it would be amazing, great descriptions, but nope - pretty bad. I was very impressed by this place. It's pretty expensive for what you get but it's really good. My crispy chicken sandwich was awesome. Don't miss the potato tots. Totally average. The food is unexceptional and can't say much about the service because there practically isn't any. You have to scan the QR code, place your order on your phone, PAY (default tip is 20% even though there is no waiter/waitress so keep that in mind), and then you get your food. Vietnamese tacos were all right, doused in sauce, which is usually an indication that they don't have much confidence in its taste. If you just need a place to eat something, go for it, but don't expect much, even for a brewpub. read more

Great beer. Burger was great, but fries were cold. Bartender was cool. But the service was terrible at the tables. Two teenage kids, one a boy that looked 14, probably family, nice kid but just reached over to take our empty plates and glasses every time and asked if he could take my beer that wasn't empty haha, not a big deal. The teen girl was older but definitely not as friendly, she never smiled and took five minutes to bring us a side of mustard. I wish they opened a closer one to me in Menifee, I'd eat there every week. AND! Here's the kicker, ORGANIC OPTIONS! I'll eat here forever since they have organic food. I served my family a Thanksgiving and Christmas feast with organic options from here and every single person raved about how amazing my dinner was. Order process is slow. Lined up to 1 register. Person taking your order leaves to get your non-alcoholic drinks slowing down the process. Food orders don't come out together. My wife's order came out 5 minutes before mine. Its important to know that this restaurant is inside the Altitude brewery. There's no wait staff. Once your food is dropped off you're on your own. The damn good burger was aptly named, though all its flavor is in the aioli and bacon marinade, the meat/cheese were tasty. The pulled pork was super dry but had good flavor and the fried pickles were on point. Get extra sauce. Food portions were large, so the price was pretty worth it. 40 bucks for 2 meals and 2 iced teas. Only tea and lemonade to drink. Everything else at the bar separately. read more

Family friendly gastro pub. Great local mammoth beer, and tasty high quality pub food. Burgers and fries were great, and the Chipotle aioli dipping sauce was amazing. We were there on the Friday after thanksgiving, and it was crazy busy! Half our food came really quickly, but the two salads we ordered took so long we were ready to leave before they came. When I brought this to the attention of the staff they were very responsive. They ended up comping our meal and packing up the salads for us. read more

My husband ate a cheese steak sandwich he raved about. My burger was terrific. This is a casual, order at the counter & find a seat on one of the 3 floors pub style place. They have booths, tables, & bar style counters. Walk a few steps to the Mammoth Brewing company (in the same building) & order a drink. Our server was super sweet & did a great job. I'm sure I'll be making my way back to Mammoth sometime soon; and when I do, I'll give The Eatery another shot. I don't know, maybe it was what I ordered: the Hopped House Made Potato Tots and the Shrimp Po Boy. Eatery's tots, for example, something of a deep fried mash paired with an onion dip and a spicy ketchup dip, just weren't what I'd hoped for. Believe me, I wanted them to be, really! And the Shrimp Po Boy--toted as "jumbo buttermilk fried shrimp with tomato, lettuce, and spicy remoulade on a French baguette"--sounded simply scrumptious! But it wasn't. It was dry, hard to eat. The thing is, though, that as we sat waiting for our food, taking in Mammoth's beautifully scenic outdoors, we watched others' orders travel by, and everything looks so good! We wanted to taste a little of everything! And this is my point: I need to give The Eatery another try, order something other than the Shrimp Po Boy and the Tots next time, check out first what other guests have decided upon. ...and then update. read more

The eatery is actually located inside the mammoth Brewery. While the inside is so much fun and gives off a great atmosphere, the food this establishment services was pretty bad in my opinion. I thought with a big line and food selling out, ordering a bison burger would turn up to be a delicious meal. I asked the cashier the sizing for the burger. She said its big, but that was a bold face lie! Worth noting as well, OVERPRICED FOR NO REASON! Food: I was with a group of 7 guys and we will ordered the same burger. Everyone agreed that the taste and size was subpar. First, the bison meat was dominated by a huge brioche. So for most of your meal, your eating large bites of bread. The meat itself did not have great seasoning or flavor. Overall, the burger just had so many flaws! I actually had a couple friends decide not to finish the meal. The burger is honestly a 2 out of 5 stars, but they had decent tater tots that saved this eating establishment. I'm glad to see a separate Yelp page for this food spot in the mammoth brewery. I was dead asleep when someone woke me up to grab dinner. Honestly, I was contemplating just waiting until breakfast the next day. But thank you sweet baby Jesus for waking me up to eat here. The BBQ chicken pizza was heavenly and was 100% worth crawling out of bed for. I'm seriously so sore it hurts to right this review, but I'm munching hard on this pizza still. Very unique. Both the entrees and the dining establishment. Housed in the brand spankin' new Mammoth Brewing Co establishment, Bleu Handcrafted Foods set up this awesome gastropub-esque pairing to accompany the epicness of the Brewery. The ordering line can get a little long during peak times, but th food is brought quickly. The menu is quite a challenge to read (Mgmt: please make it bigger!) due to the small font, but there's a good balance of eats on the menu. It's not quite like a regular restaurant- most of the items are more like snacks, appetizers, or very light meals, so getting a couple items or sharing some with a friend is a good way to go. I got the Braised BBQ beef sandwich. It appears large, but wasn't as filling as I hoped. There wasn't any/much BBQ sauce, but the meat was very tender and it was a nice combo of flavors with the Blue cheese on it. Unfortunately, the meat juice soaked into the bread and it got soggy very quickly, allowing it to fall apart messily in my hands. The flavor though, was top notch! I suspect there isn't as much seating as there ideally should be, but it's a great start. I can't wait to see how this things grows! 4.5 stars for today, but you KNOW I'll be back for more at my favorite brewery. Gimme another primo entree and you'll get that 5th star :) read more

This place has the perfect blend of updated comfort food and craft beer. It's an ideal location for those cold mammoth nights or for apres ski. We ordered the buffalo chicken flatbread, chicken and griddle cakes and of course a couple of beers. I have to say the chicken and griddle cakes was one of the most memorable dishes I've had in a while. The chicken was perfectly crispy and crunchy. The griddle cakes sat on top of a sweet cranberry jam (sauce?) and were delicious, paired with the savory bacon butter. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The flatbread was good. It was very blue cheese forward, so if that's not your thing I'd suggested passing. The only serious con was that I froze my ass off. It was so cold! I've experienced this with other breweries though so next time I'll remember to bring a warmer jacket. read more

The EATery is the GASTROPUBery inside the Mammoth Brewing Company (see www.yelp.com/biz/mammoth-brewing-co-mammoth-lakes-2) that delivers no MYSTery of goodness when consuming ARTery-clogging foods like fried FRITTery flatbread with BUTTery beer sauces or richly flavored BURGery sandwiches. Other restaurants on this street tout their burgers. Although I haven't tried them, chances are they aren't as good as this one. An outstanding combination of ingredients with a beefy and caramelized patty elevated the house burger to easily the best thing I ate during my five-day vacation. Green from the kale and arugula salad, sweet from the onion jam, salty from the bacon, and smoke from the gouda contributed to the rounded flavors. The ingredients weren't evenly distributed, but that was easy for me to fix. Similarly, the bahn mi sandwich was disproportionately constructed, but also had issues where the flavors didn't blend. Too much grated carrot and a rabbit-loving amount of cilantro overtook the hoisin sauce-soaked pork belly and sparse amount of cabbage. Of the snacky appetizers, the long strands of puffy bread called "bread fries" served with a pleasantly punchy beer cheese dipping sauce was more enjoyable than the "hop tots" that were more like mashed potato balls because the grated potato attribute had broken down. The tots came with two sauces where the sour cream dip suited our soda and wine over the spicy ketchup which more likely belongs with beer. The layout and ordering process were a bit confusing with three seating areas - the bar-like seating on the first floor, the dining room like setting on the second floor with TV's, and the picnic-ish outdoor biergarten. Drinks and bar bites can be ordered at any open bar. Larger food items but not drinks are ordered at a counter on the first floor where seating location (without knowing if seating is available) and tip (without knowing the quality of service) must be determined while ordering. read more

My FAVORITE place to eat in Mammoth! It's directly connected to the brewery so you can drink & eat great food for the night. We stopped here while waiting for our reservation for another restaurant to kill some time and ended up just loving the place. We liked it so much we came back for lunch the next day. :D - Food - House Tater Tots: These are circular shaped rather than the typical log. Either way SO good and delicious. Comes with a side of ketchup and tartare sauce. Definitely a must try. Pulled Pork Poutine Fries: the BEST dish at this place. The fries are perfectly salty and crispy. With the pulled pork / gravy combo.. is just to die for. Oh and the plate is HUGE. This is probably enough for 2 people really. Oxtail: In all the photos, you can't really see the oxtail because it's hidden under a massive pile of fried eggs and tater tots. The fried egg was absolutely delicious and savory. I don't know what sauce they used but it was just good.. I didn't care too much for the oxtail but my bf said he loved it :). Pork Belly Plate: Comes with a side of mac salad, pickled carrot slaw and sticky rice. Honestly I was thinking of J&J Hawaiian BBQ while eating this cause of the sides. Went here while on a road trip. The menu had a bunch of stuff that sounded good, but I was pretty disappointed with what we got. The place was packed when we went. You order up front and seat yourself and there is a bar to get beer. It was spacious and had that gastropub feel down. We got the naan tacos and the carne asade fries with an added egg on top. It was a ton of food, which was cool, but I didn't really like anything. I took three bites of one of the tacos and knew I wasn't gonna get through them. They were bland and the chicken was cut in big strips and the sauce was blah. Something about it really didn't rub me the right way. I admit I was feeling a little queasy at the time, but I wouldn't have liked them either way. The Asada Fries were massive. It had a ton of stuff on it and kind of like nachos with fries instead of chips. The ingredients by them selves weren't bad, but none of it seemed to go together. Conceptually they should have, but with the asada being cut in big chunks and cheese sauce and on one section of the giant waffle fries, you kind of had to eat each part by itself. You couldn't get a bite with all the ingredients. I also wasn't a fan of the beer cheese on it, maybe it was just off that day, but it was chalky and bland. First, this place is inside Mammoth Brewing company yet it is not the brewery making food. The Eatery is food prepared by a talented team and you will not be disappointed. We ordered: Korean Steak Sando, Philly Cheesesteak the burger and the start of the show, chicken leg with corn pancakes with raspberries. All the food was tasty and very flavorful. The best items we had were the chicken pancakes and the Korean Sando. Could this be the best secret food spot in Mammoth? I wish I could give this restaurant a better score, but I just can't justify it. This is NOT a reflection on their staff, but instead of how the restaurant system is designed. We waited for our outdoor table, and that didn't take long. When seated, I asked if we order online and put in our table number or if we order through the server. Our server said, "either way is fine," so we ordered our meals. She looked at us blankly, not writing anything down. I then said, "Maybe we should just order it online?" and we're answered in the affirmative. (All to minimize contact and ensure the order is correct after the blank stare.) An hour passed, no drinks came, and no food came out. I noticed someone else was seated, ordered, fed, paid and left before we had so much as a glass of water on the table. (We never got that far.). I flagged down a server and asked what our meal status was, and they insisted we didn't order. Checked my bank, and money had been taken, showing the business name. The server said she'd retake our order, and the kitchen said "no" because the grill had already been cleaned and oil in the fryer changed. Me, the quintessential smart ass said, "Well, then the food should taste better, and by the way, isn't the grill supposed to be cleaned anyhow?" They apologized and offered a refund. I ordered food, paid for the food and tip and didn't get it... why the hell should I even WANT a refund or even feel entitled to getting a refund? Suddenly, our server said, "Oh! There's your order! It was in the to go counter!". She happily handed us our order like she did something wonderful and looked at the order ticket and said, "This came out a long time ago, like an hour ago." I remarked, "It's cold now - it's been sitting there for over 45 minutes." My partner said, "Screw this, we'll just take it home and reheat it." The bartender sweetly packed our drinks for us, and our server thought taking the food home and reheating it was brilliant. We took the burnt burger and bbq pizza home, and I reheated it. My partner took a bite and spat it out exclaiming, "This chicken is totally raw! I can't eat this." The rootbeer was fantastic, anyhow. Never again will we darken their halls. read more

It's a short walk from the village and is a welcomed change from the slew of overpriced and under-delivered restaurants in the area. The food was good, and well priced. The Ambiance could use a little work, a bit bright in general and the emphasis on "Merch" in the downstairs area can be off-putting. We opted for the upstairs seating area which was a tad more hospitable. My buddy, who's name is most definitely not DOUG was not a fan of the business model of ordering at a counter and having some Rando server drop food off at your table later. overall a good experience however. We were visiting Mammoth this weekend and decided to try this restaurant. As soon as you drive by you notice social distancing of the outdoor tables, table had shades to help if it's sunny. The staff was super nice and cleaned every table after each customer. Food & Beer was AMAZING . We will definitely be returning! We ordered the burger and the pulled pork sandwich! We've been dining in Mammoth for over 40 years. This place was new to us so we decided to try it. Friendly counter staff helped the fact that they were out of three of the options I was excited to try. We ordered the brisket burger and the chop salad. Also got an order of the waffle fries. All of it was delicious and we needed a to go box for the salad it was so huge. Great flavors, served promptly. Waffle fries were absolutely delicious especially with the Aoli sauce on the side.
