San Francisco always had organic ways of doing things. The city has always had an organic culture. From the Summer of Love with the Grateful Dead along with the flower child's to the organic art scene of San Francisco. The city is also well known for its organic startup tech culture making digital creations and tools. When it comes to drink and food San Francisco is one of the pioneers of the organic food movement creating Supermarkets such as Rainbow Grocery offering organic farm to table produce. The restaurants in San Francisco are innovators of adding farm to table ingredients to dishes which are grown locally with a farm to table approach and experience. There is one place where food is medicine and dishes are organic . It's called the Farmacy. On a Spring stroll through SOMA Pilipinas San Francisco's Filipino Cultural Heritage District I landed at the Farmacy at 1 South Park street. Inside it feels like a cafe /bar/health food store. Inside you can reenergize with some organic food. You can also refresh with a beer like their own brewed Farmacy Mule ( I hear it has a kick to it ). I got the Strips & Chips which were the Crispy chicken strips & chips. The organic chicken was moist and thick and lightly battered. It had a bit of seasoning and was tasty. It came with the daily fresh made pharmacy chips which were not salty like some in SF. They also have available the Hot Honey Mac & Cheese. The Farmacy also offers Mediterranean chopped salad with a lemon oregano vinaigrette. They also have a Chicken Smashed Burger with cheese for a limited time . This Farmacy is the place for organic flavors and to remedy your hunger and thirst in SF. Fresh food that's actually delicious. The flavors are amazing and the variety is perfect without being overwhelming. Also the soft serve is the best desert. The staff is warm and friendly. The al fresco dining tables make for getting some sun at lunchtime. read more

Ordered via Doordash. Food was very fresh. I scheduled a pickup and when I got the good, my sandwiches were still piping hot! Overall my friends and I enjoyed the bowls and sandwiches. I could have made it healthier by selecting rotisserie chicken next time. The bowl has brown rice and fresh veggies. It came with a vinegar-y sauce that you can pour in the bowl but I found that the bowl already has some drizzled because the rice was a bit "tart". Portion size was good. I would love to see other variations, maybe like a warm quinoa bowl one day. The chicken sandwich was really good. The meat was juicy and crispy and the bun seems to be a brioche-like bun. The only thing I feel it was lacking was a bit of spice. If it was a bit spicy, that would have been perfect. Also, I hope they can consider making a grilled chicken version one day. Kind and helpful cashier but beyond that the overall actual food experience is pretty poor. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and chips. Immediately the chips are cold and partly stale. They were served after we asked (which is fine) but the portion is so small you don't really have much for even when the sandwich is really really. The actual fried chicken sandwich has potential but unfortunately falls short in seasoning. There's a good batter ratio but beyond that this just felt like an upgraded version of a McChicken or even McCrispy from mcdonalds. The Farmacy is a great addition to the neighborhood. I had an Asian salad with plant based chicken. The veggies were perfectly crisp and fresh. The "chicken" was an enjoyable, unusual addition- not something I usually choose but I would have it again. I also recommend the Straus froyo. Kevin (the owner? Manager?) was very friendly and obviously excited about the business and proud of the fact that the food they serve supports small farms. I am looking forward to coming back. read more

Great fried chicken sandwich. Every ingredient seems high quality and tastes great. Similar to "Bird Box" that was briefly open nearby.

Excellent quality food- the warm veggie salad had farm-fresh, tasty carrots, zucchini, green beans, with a delicious brown rice with a great tangy crunch. A side dressing was provided but definitely not needed. My friends had the fried chicken sandwich and loved it. Best of all, the staff was 5-star- I chatted with "chef Antonio" who was humble and gracious and loves his work. And Salome, front staff, has fantastic hospitality skills. read more
