They do not take reservations or observe call-ahead seating like some of the other locations, so be prepared for a long wait on weekends. I had to leave a review after 2 bad experiences. Ome month ago, I received a coffee cup with someone else's lipstick! I gave them a second chance today because I do like the food and everyone deserves a second chance, especially before I leave a bad review. The young woman today seemed very overwhelmed. I asked for a table for two. She did not ask for my name or give me a pager. She told me to wait by the door and she would get us seated. 30 minutes later, I see other people who came after us get seated. They all had pagers. When I inquired, she remembered me and asked for name. I told her she never asked for my name nor gave me a pager like everyone else. 30 minutes of my Saturday morning is gone. Great breakfast spot in Roswell! Love that they had a gluten free and vegan option. I had the vegan tofu scramble (lots of veggies!) and the dusted potatoes. The potatoes didn't have much seasoning, needed to add a bit more to them and scramble wasn't super flavorful, but a bit of hot sauce and you're golden. Their cranberry apple butter is seriously amazing, my friend bought me a jar to take home (4.99) because I liked it so much. They have great gluten free toast, super fluffy. Everyone I was with really enjoyed their meals as well. They also have mimosas and sake bloody Mary's and they are very reasonably priced (4.99). Busy and loud and short business hours...and it's great. Staff is usually pretty friendly. I love the Piedmont Omlete. Filling with meats and cheese. As long as the biscuits are fresh they are delicious. Ask for the Rasberry sauce for a topping and enjoy. They close around 2 or 3om, so get there early because it's usually busy. Stopped by here on our road trip. We stayed the night at a friends near by. She recommended us to go to flying biscuit. My co-pilot was super excited to go so I had high expectations going to Flying biscuit. I ordered the biscuit pot pie as it looked amazing on the menu photo. I was just exhausted and hungry to read other things on the menu. Portion was enough for two people. I was able to eat half of it. It was very heavy and thick. I thought it was a thinner type of pot pie filling. I did save it for later and it was still pretty good for left overs. The service was very good and attentive. I wanted so badly to LOVE this place...but...the food was not great. The collard greens were TOOOO SPICY! I mean like any Creole chef would have been proud but they were so overly spiced they were uneatable. The chicken pot pie was SOOO under spiced that i mixed my collards in to give it some help. The staff is super friendly and I enjoyed the bright brunch atmosphere but I think this place is seriously overrated. The weirdest texture for grits I've ever had in my 23 years of living. I first visited The Flying Biscuit in July 2011 - yes, it was that long ago, yes I went twice during that trip and yes I continued to dream about my meal and look up the menu fairly regularly over the years. When my best friend announced that she was getting married in Atlanta in March, I was overjoyed to return to one of my favorite breakfast places. What I love: the food is consistent. My visits in 2011 were at the Sandy Springs location and the Roswell location was just as amazing as I remembered. The atmosphere is cute and homey and the staff were incredibly accommodating to our group of bridesmaids and friends the day following the wedding. My favorite thing on the menu is the Egg-ceptional Eggs - the bean cakes are simply to die for. I'm not the biggest fan of grits (I live in Colorado, what do you expect!?) but I always get grits here and I'm never disappointed. Although their potatoes are also amazing - get a combo of the potatoes and grits and it's simply heavenly. We wound up having a few extra friends join us late, so while waiting we ordered some of the biscuits and that apple-butter is OHMYGOD. We have a rewards program through our recylcing program, and they sent us a $5.00 of $20.00 purchase, so we decided this was our breakfast destination :) We had to wait about 15 min, no biggie, and the place was packed. We got our table, service was slow, but good. It wasnt the servers fault, more so the kitchen, but with a full house, and going at 10 on a Saturday... you would be dumb to expect anything less. I can say i was honestly skeptical about the menu, i knew it was a healthy-esq type of resturant, turkey bacon and chicken sausage, but they blew me away. We both got the Eggstravaganza ( i believe) it came with eggs, sausage, bacon, the most INCREDDIBLE french toast and bowl licking grits ive ever eaten, and if thats not enough they give you a biscuit the size of your fist with the most amazing cranberry apple butter. Heaven on earth... The bacon was crispy, the sausage was good enought for us to find out its made by oscar meyer and hunt it down in the store to try again... And the sweet tea was on par. Upon ordering I was informed that the eggs Benedict here are cooked over medium not poached, and was asked if I would like them poached. I ordered them poached since she offered....what arrived was two eggs over medium on a grainy biscuit topped with what could only be described as slop. This hollandaise attempt was basically grainy mustard.... Moving on. My S/o omelet featured raw onions, which he ate regardless. Thankfully the service was nice enough to make me an alternative meal to go as we were heading to work. Won't be back.. Wow... Hands down the best grits I've ever had! Nice and creamy with melted white cheddar cheese and a dash of white pepper. I ALWAYS order the Breakfast Bowl when we eat here. It's got turkey bacon (I always request for regular bacon cause I don't do diet), fried green tomatoes, two eggs, all surrounded with a moat of creamy grits. Always consistent whenever ordered. Tried flying biscuit while visiting my cousin near Atlanta. Definitely a bright modern look for breakfast joint which I enjoyed. However, the breakfast options aren't as extensive as one might hope, with ham not even on the menu. Nonetheless the biscuits and grits make up for it. I'm not a southerner and usually don't order grits, but these grits have made me rethink my stance. So I always love this place, but I went there this morning and got a Veggie scramble with completely uncooked onions and that wasn't scrambled and more like an omelette. Our server (Rebecca?) went about the process super strangely, comping 20% of the meal. Not asking if I wanted something different to eat and then dropped the check with my guest still having a full plate of food. We proceeded to order a couple more mimosas and every time that we ordered something she dropped the check immediately.
