First, get rid of the pregnant girl who works the front. Her attitude is horrible and not welcoming at all. In town visiting, and I had an appt in Alpharetta, so I slid in here because I couldn't leave Atl without getting my "southern scramble" fix. I arrived at 2 pm. I knew they closed at 3, but since I knew what I wanted, I figured I could get in and out by 3. Greeted when I first walked in by a young lady sitting at a front table wiping down menus. She asked if I was there for a pick up. I say no dine in. That was when the pregnant girl got up from the table and walked over towards me, grabbed a menu, and walked away. I guess I was supposed to know to follow. By the time I got over to the table, she was already gone, didn't say one word to me. I waited about 10 mins before the waitress came over. When she did, she was pretty nice. I quickly ordered. Food came out about 15/20 mins later. It was still good. The greens were a little salty but still edible. Overall, I'll still make it point to stop at FB when in town, but probably not this location.

Outdoor tables aren't the cleanest but y'know, it's outside. The patio is spacious and good if you want to bring your pup. The restaurant inside has bright colors, tables nicely spaced, and great Motown tunes in the background. The menu has lots of options for the discerning diner. Chicken & waffles 6 ways- I had the traditional. Breading was done with a great chicken/breading ratio and was a little bland as was the waffle. It would've been more flavorful with real maple syrup. The Three Amigos breakfast tacos with potatoes were excellent! Chocked full of savory goodness, the tacos had to be eaten with fork and knife instead of picking it up. Super delish. If you want to save a little money and not get such a huge portion, check the menu board inside (not pictured) for less expensive, smaller breakfast bowls. The service was attentive and good.

Fast service, sweet servers, quick & delicious food, colorful walls & good location! Always love having brunch here. The portions are pretty reasonable for the price too!

My husband and I decided to go to breakfast at the Flying Biscuit location in Roswell Friday. We were seated immediately upon entering the restaurant and Cesar was our waiter. He was great, we were able to order our food quickly, it came out in less than 20 minutes and everything was delish! The biscuits are sooooo good! The restaurant is right off of the highway and it wasn't super crowded inside which we liked.

I want to love this restaurant, location, menu, etc. Unfortunately they don't pay close attention to their customer. I had the Piedmont omelet and ai asked for it to be cooked soft. It came out brown and extremely dry. The biscuit looked great, but had the texture of a crouton and crumbled into many pieces when I tried to butter it. Attention to customer's request, folks!

This place is just right for a cute date or a quick one lol. The atmosphere was light and friendly and the service was quick and attentive. The food matched the service and I almost felt that they knew what I wanted before I did lol Anywho, great place, great food. Would recommend 10/10

FBC is an Atlanta staple that started in the early 1990's and has at least 11 locations in Georgia. The original location being the Candler Park is known for their funky and eclectic vibe and decor. Of course don't let their hippie vibe fool you...they're serious about the quality of good food and great service. At this Roswell location, a special shout out to Sue our gracious hostess and waiter...not only is she a great ambassador for the brand...by bringing us samples of a couple of her favorite items but she is very knowledge about every item on the menu! Thanks Sue! For those who don't know they're known for their famous melt in your mouth biscuits, creamy grits and out of this world chicken sausage gravy! Another not often mentioned is their bold but never bitter coffee that is super good...they serve lunch but not had a chance to try that out but if its as good as their breakfast menu...I'm sold.

Ordered a chicken chorizo grits bowl & the Georgia peaches and cream biscuit .. I ordered this on doordash. Everything was delicious, I couldn't even finish my grits bowl in the same setting because I was so full. I will say that the chorizo bowl was a little spicy and I didn't know it would be upon ordering , but it was still delicious. They gave a nice portion size as well.

I stopped by for a late breakfast on a Saturday & it was PACKED. I ordered to-go when I arrived because when I tried to call, no one picked up. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and everything seemed to be clean for the short time I was there. It wasn't a long wait for my food. Food was good as usual.

Unfortunately, our excitement quickly faded before we were even seated. When I walked into the restaurant, I was completely ignored by a young blonde employee named Claudia who was standing behind the counter in the waiting area. She looked directly at me and continued what she was doing without so much as a greeting or an acknowledgment. A simple, "Good morning, someone will be right with you," would have gone a long way. Since no one else was in the lobby and I noticed a clipboard on the counter, I politely asked if there was a waitlist. Claudia responded with an attitude that she "wasn't the hostess." I calmly asked where the hostess was, and she simply replied that she was clearing tables. There was no offer to help, no explanation of the process, and no attempt to assist me. She continued interacting with other staff members while I stood there feeling like an inconvenience. Thankfully, another employee who appeared to be a waiter noticed me. He immediately picked up the same clipboard that had been sitting on the counter, took my name and phone number with a cheerful attitude, and let me know it would be about a 15-minute wait. His professionalism completely contrasted with the poor customer service I had just experienced. Once seated, our waiter was personable, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was also very good. I ordered the Chicken Sausage Scramble with hash browns, and it was delicious. My friend ordered the Catfish and Grits and thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well. The food and our waiter helped redeem the experience, but first impressions matter. Management should ensure that every employee understands that providing basic courtesy and hospitality is everyone's responsibility, not just the hostess's. Even if greeting guests or managing the waitlist wasn't Claudia's primary role, there was no excuse for being dismissive or rude to someone walking through your front door. Alpharetta has no shortage of excellent brunch spots with both great food and outstanding customer service. Sadly, because of the way I was treated before I was even seated, I won't be returning to The Southern Porch. I also won't feel comfortable recommending it to friends or family. It's disappointing because the kitchen and our waiter did their jobs well, but one employee's attitude overshadowed what could have been an otherwise enjoyable brunch.

While I know many come for the food, I personally make the 25-minute drive for one thing: the Sweet Potato Cheesecake. Or at least, I used to. Lately, it seems like something has changed in the process. The cheesecake hasn't been setting properly, and the cream cheese isn't fully blended into the sweet potato, leaving noticeable chunks. The flavor, once rich and decadent, has also diminished, making me question if it's still worth the trip. That said, I've heard the rest of the food is still solid, so if you're craving Southern comfort food, it may still be worth checking out. When I arrived, I grabbed a piece of chicken and it was already cold, so I decided to wait for them to bring out a fresh batch. Same thing with the chicken livers: cold and not refreshed the entire time we were eating. Near the end of the meal, I finally asked if they were planning to put out fresh chicken. I explained that I tried it when I got there (about 30 minutes earlier) and it was cold, and nothing had been replaced. The staff member said she could start working on some, so I waited. About 12 to 15 minutes later, they did bring out fresh chicken and fresh chicken livers, and honestly, when it's fresh it's actually pretty good. The mashed potatoes were another issue. They had a thick, crusty layer on top, and it looked like they dumped the old, dried-out potatoes from the previous pan over the fresh batch. I had to scrape off the crusty topping just to get to the fresh potatoes underneath. Overall, the food itself isn't terrible. The bigger problem is the way it's being handled. It felt like they were more focused on cutting costs and stretching old food than keeping the buffet fresh and consistent. My advice: if something you want looks like it's been sitting out too long, say something early before you sit down. If you wait, you may never see fresh food brought out.
