We walked over from our home because we live so close but parking is super easy because there is a big parking lot, however, you will have to pay for it after 15 minutes of being there. Have been coming here for years and was very disappointed for the first time! Not only did I receive bad service, the funnel cake quality was terrible. The cake was a little burnt and hard as a rock. On top of that, they said that they ran out of whip cream and bananas. FYI, whip cream is definitely essential for funnel cakes. But I get it, we run out of items. So I requested extra ice cream instead and they bluntly said no. They only offered syrup. Once I got our cake, I noticed that they forgot to give bananas. I went back in and they said that they don't have any. They tried hiding that. What is really triggering is that they could've let us know that they don't have the items before we paid. Pleasantly surprised at the funnel cakes here! That's mostly because this place always has a line and so i figure they would sacrifice some quality for quantity, but honestly i really enjoyed the method here! While in line, you can see the menu above the workers. Choose what you want so when they get to you, you can hit the ground running. I had the funnel sundae (maybe they called it a Fundae? if not, they should). It's basically a funnel cake with 2 scoops of ice cream (your choice of maybe 8 flavors or so) and then they can top it with whipped cream and some berry toppings (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry+banana). They put powdered sugar on them as well (though that's a given with funnel cakes). I had mine with some strawberry and blueberry with vanilla and chocolate ice cream. The funnel cake itself is nice and soft (not overly fried) and doughy! It takes up about your standard paper plate size-wise, so it's enough for 2 (maybe even 3) people to share. I really enjoyed the combo of the blueberry compote with the vanilla ice cream and the funnel cake as the base. The chocolate ice cream didn't go quite as well. Note that this place does sell other things too... brownies, cookies, churros, etc. I did try one of the churros, and can't say i really cared for it. This is definitely a generational spot this has been here before me and most likely after me. I decided to bring my niece here for her first ever funnel cake but it's been a pretty long time since I've been here last since we live in LA. It was still popular with the line out the door but I have to say the prices are not the same it's $17.50 for a funnel cake sundae and that's absolutely outrageous. We could say it's inflation but I believe it's that price because of there brand name. You can go to the county fair get one twice the size, more variety of toppings and better ice cream for cheaper just doesn't sit right with me especially with more funnel cake competition open near us now when we didn't have that option previously. Me and my niece shared one with whip cream powdered sugar, no topping she got vanilla ice cream and butter pecan ice cream for myself. It tastes just like a typical funnel cake, I could get from Santa Monica pier and I should've asked what brand ice cream because for that price they need to be serving thriftys, Ben N Jerry's or Häagen-Dazs. Anytime you see an abundance of teenagers working in any establishment , you can already make the assumption of how your experience is going to go without being a fortune teller. Unfortunately, from not listening to my gut, I wasted not only money but time. Every single person in there looked absolutely miserable and like they hated the fact they were put on the schedule that day, like they're doing YOU the favor by serving you, which is pretty weird from the start. They move at their own paces walking slowly back and fourth bumping into one another while trying to figure out what order is what. I stood and watched as they forgot my order for 15+ minutes, then when I ask what's taking so long, they literally reply with nothing, turn around and proceed to walk away. Funnel cake sundae was mediocre and not worth $12+ by any means. The funnel cake itself was subpar, like a poorly done church carnival at best. Topping was from a 5 Gallon bucket bought at Smart and Final, you can taste the freshness and quality in each bite of strawberry. Ice cream melted almost instantaneously and was just bad all around, even for basic vanilla. Churros we're horrible as well, not really sure how you can mess that one up but boy they sure didn't miss the chance here. Vanilla latte was really the only thing even close to being worth getting, however not worth the visit alone. If you want really bad and unfriendly service at a high price, sure why not. If you want a decent sweet treat close to the water, I'd just walk next door to the ice cream place and save myself the frustration. read more

I love this place! Didn't know about it until last week while I was staying at Shoreline Marina. The location is very convenient....was only a 10 minute walk from my slip. I was planning on the Funnel Cake sundae but it looked huge! So I opted for the churro sundae and that was the perfect size and a bit more my liking price-wise because I was eating it alone. The ice cream was one of the best parts in addition to the freshly fried churro and the fruit toppings. I had cherry and strawberries which I definitely recommend if you're a cherry fan. But the good thing here is that the churro is way bigger than Cold Stone's small portions. Ice Cream Funnel Cake (10/10): Has to be the best one I've had and first time I've ever tried it with ice cream. To me it was better than Knott's, Six Flags, etc. Maybe because you get more of a portion than those places. Ok, we were at the Aquarium with the kids and looking for a tasty afternoon snack. Found Funnel House in Yelp and all I could think was "Funnel Cake?
