I'll start this review by saying: I LOVE their strawberry almond cake and the ginger pineapple lemonade. I've ordered from this location 4 times on DoorDash and have had issues 3 of those times. This last issue was the final straw for me, and unfortunately, I won't be ordering from them ever again. Here are the issues I've had: 1: Was given two slices of strawberry almond cake and a blondie when I ordered one slice of strawberry almond cake, chocolate cake, and a cupcake (not too big of an issue) 2: Ordered 4 items, got everything except my strawberry almond cake. Paid 4.75 to add sausage to pizza and wasn't given NEARLY enough for the price. 3: I ordered some cake the next day or so (since I didn't get my strawberry almond cake before) and everything was there, but lo and behold: my coconut cake has mold on it. Photos included. It's just entirely absolutely not okay... More attention and care should be paid to the food items y'all are sending out because at this point, it's a pattern. I can't believe it's vegan. Now I am not a vegan but I can appreciate a healthy and tasty meal. A colleague of mine had told me about this place and it's right down the road from me and I finally hit this place up- once, twice and a third time and can't wait for the fourth. Twice I had the fruit crepes and another time I had the mole chilaquiles. The mole was bomb and the mushrooms added a nice taste contrast. My lovah had the patty wrap once and the chorizo con "huevo" twice. I'm not a tofu egg fan nor a grain burger fan but he is and really enjoyed. Plus yes they have drinks. I love the pineapple mimosa and my partner loves the Michelada con tamarindo. For non alcoholic options the ginger lemonade was so refreshing. Cute little unassuming cafe!! Menu is VERY extensive and diverse, so it was hard to settle on something. I had the wet burrito per Leslie's rec, and my friend has the vegan hot dog. Don't sleep on The Grain, y'all. It took me about a year before I jumped in and now that I did I can't get out. Why did I hold off? Well, The Grain has an expansive menu covering a lot of different cuisines. And in my experience that generally leads to food being "fine" or "ok," sometimes "good." But nothing amazing, no specialty. There was a Thai restaurant near my old apartment in SF that also sold pizza and had a guy selling pre-made sushi in the back which was a complete basket full of nopes from me. So when I saw The Grain offered everything from pancakes and waffles, burritos and tacos, pizzas and burgers, hot dogs, nachos, custom bowls, smoothies, wraps and crepes and soups, even a sushi roll and more I was like, "No way this works. Too much, it's just too much." Well, it's NOT too much. I've loved everything I've had here so maybe it's not even enough. Seriously, maybe they can add more because I've had everything listed above and have never been disappointed. Not once. Well, maybe once, but that's because I tried to Postmates a waffle and it was cold when it got to me but I really shouldn't Postmates shit that needs to be eaten immediately like that so my bad. And the staff are just so friggen nice. Chatty and helpful. They're engaging when talking about their food and genuinely seem happy to be working there. Plus I'm pretty sure their cakes are made with actual magic powers because I've never had cake like theirs. I don't even like sugar but I'm like, "EIGHTEEN SLICES OF EVERY TYPE OF CAKE TO GO PLEASE." And their house made hot sauce? Delicious, but tread lightly because the keyword there is "hot." We just love it. The Grain Cafe has the best wellness shots I've ever had. They are served warm and so strong, in the best way. We also got the green veggie smoothie which was delicious. Our entrees were both really good, especially the club sandwich. The wet burrito was a huge portion and came with beans and rice on the side. Great food. Great staff. Love the happy hour. I've been living in Mid City for 7years now and been coming to Grain Cafe for atleast 4 years now. My vegan friends and I love it. A great place for vegans. Our favorites are the tacos during happy hour. Their tacos are flavorful and makes you come back for more. I love every flavor! Wow I can't believe It took me so long to try this place out! I was coming back from a day of doing some hiking and wanted to stay on my healthy tip by getting a vegan dinner to cap off the day. I placed a pickup order on my way back to the west side for the Deluxe Burger with a side salad. Upon entering the restaurant I was greeted right away by friendly employees and then of course my eyes fell upon the beautiful dessert case and I thought "well I did just hike my butt off why not E?" so I asked them to toss in two slices of cake. Any who, the food. The deluxe burger was delicious and had a really tasty sauce that added a lot of flavor to the burger. The buns were really grainy and hearty and made the carbs go down with a bit more peace of mind. Salad was a salad nothing special there. The coconut and chocolate cake were both excellent though I prefer the coconut. Never been a huge fan of vegan chocolate but they have plenty of other flavors in their dessert case. I'm not even sure if that's exactly what it's called or is Tlayudas style! It comes on a flat tortilla shell and looks like a pizza. Here is the good part omg it is so delicious. Yes, it is an enormous menu. First, I tried the Tropical Crepe with mango, strawberries, kiwi, blackberries, banana, chocolate syrup, and whipped cream.
