The pastrami sandwich is best without the spread and pickles. The steak sandwich was terrible...a thin slice of steak overstuffed with lettuce and onions. The chili fries was given with cheese that was not even melted plus the amount of chili was overwhelmed by the unmelted cheese and fries, the onion rings were excellent. read more

It was ok. Waiting for an hour in the drive thru. Was exited about the pastrami melt. Received a pastrami with no melt. Sandwiches were a good size but not hot. Fries and onion rings were huge. IMO. Not worth the hype. Vegas has such great food to offer. It was just ok. Maybe I would have liked the melt but don't think I will go back to find out anytime soon. read more

Finally tried The Hat...the traffic people were really nice and the building gives a very retro vibe...the line was only 45 minutes in the drive-thru...the reviews were mixed so I was pretty excited to finally try it...in the end I have to admit I was so disappointed...not because it was bad but because it was just OK and that's why I gave it four stars...let me break it down...the Orange Bang is basically a melted creamsicle which just was not for me, the pink lemonade was missing the flavor of lemonade...the fries were good although very thick (but they warm up nicely in the air fryer the next day)...the onion rings were AMAZING so very crunchy and perfectly cooked...needed to try the chili but knew I couldn't eat it all with the fries so I just ordered a side and I was not impressed at all not sure if it was the bottom of the pot or what because it tasted burnt and bitter...now to what I had been craving ever since hearing The Hat was going to open....The Pastrami Dip...I'm not one to like soggy bread so I did not order it "dipped" but in the end I'm not sure it mattered. Although you get a lot of meat I didn't realize how shaved the meat was going to be. Every bite I took it was like half the sandwich would fall out. You couldn't taste any of the mustard or pickles which was disappointing since I like both. The bun was beyond soaked and lumped together that in the end I ate it open faced and although the meat was good the shaved meat was just difficult to eat...this is just my personal take and although I had high hopes for this place I don't see going back anytime soon read more

It's been 18 years since I moved to Las Vegas from Azusa, CA. I went to The Hat in Glendora with my high school friends and this place is just as good as I remembered it. The chili is beefy, the pastrami has excellent flavor. Prices are reasonable for portion sizes. I ordered chili cheese fries, pastrami dip, and double chili cheese burger. I was very very disappointed. We order a pastrami dip and it was soggy and too messy. The presentation was not good. They did not take there time to make the sandwich it was very sloppy. There was a lot of hype with the opening in Las Vegas. I've never been to the Hat and went on Saturday. It was very underwhelming. The pastrami was shaved way too thin and wasn't very good. I first have to give kudos to David the manager in charge today. I went there to get the delicious dipped pastrami which I have eaten in California. I ordered the pastrami, chili cheese fries and a drink. I was excited to try this wonderful treat at home and savor this scrumptious meal. I returned home and part of my order was missing. I drove 30 minutes again to get there. On the trip there, I was wondering how I would be compensated for my time and milage. When I arrived, I promptly ask to speak to a manager. The first manager accused me of leaving the food there and acted like it was my fault. I told him the server NEVER gave me the chili cheese fries. Then he said he would give me the fries. I told him my pastrami was now cold. He insisted it was still my fault. He said he could return my funds or get another meal. I then asked for the owners phone number, he said he wasn't going to give it to me. We discussed him giving me corporate's number which he didn't give it to me either, I told him I needed to speak to someone else. He went away and brought back David to talk to me. What a difference it was talking to David. He was apologetic, professional and courteous. He asked me for my order number and how I paid for my meal. David reimbursed my meal and provided me with fresh one. I am impressed with the corporation hiring a person of David's caliber who knows how to treat customers. The food was good, but the customer service was excellent. I hope that when David returns to California, they will continue to have people of his expertise working there! read more

Garbage!! I'm thinking they coming with some change the pastrami game...I asked the lady can I get my s*** well done, she like it comes well done, it was heated up deli meat, never hit a real grill . The Hat World Famous Pastrami restaurant is a Joke. "World Famous" is typical, meaningless, Las Vegas exageration. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY, the child of Eastern European Ashkenazi Jewish immigrants where Kosher Jewish Delicatessen sandwitches ~ Pastrami, Corned Beef, Brisket, Tongue, .... was Jewish soul food. I knew the location of the closest Jewish Deli to every bus stop and subway station in Brooklyn & Manhatten, where I needed to go. My Bar Mitzvah was catered by a Kosher Deli owned by a family my mother knew growing up when she was still living in the Soviet Union before emigrating to the US. I know pastrami sandwitches. Kosher delicatessen is prepared by steaming, a meat preparation method not common to European or American cuisine. I went to The Hat and spent time watching them make their "World Famous" pastrami sandwitches. The sandwitches were mass prepared before being ordered. I watched them heat the pastrami not by steaming, but rather by dipping in boiling water ~ Juk. They automatically slavered every bread with lots of mustard. Furthermore, the sandwitches had a minimal amount of pastrami compaired to a Kosher Deli pastrami sandwitch, which is typically a quarter pound or more of pastrami, no cheese, and no butter. I could not believe the long lines of people and of cars waiting to get one of their overpriced Hat "World Famous" Pastrami Sandwiches. Obviously, these people have no idea what a real pastrami sandwich should be. They obviously never ate a pastrami sandwich at the former Kosher style Carnegie Deli at the former Mirage Casino or the former Katz's Deli. I missed this restaurant when we moved to Las Vegas. Now, I have one very close. The food is awesome and always good. You get lots of fries and plenty of food. There's nothing like it. The people are gracious and very efficient. The Hat is a beautiful place to dine, and take-out is fast with a friendy staff. In other words, this place rocks. I am thrilled that it is here in Vegas, now. Real food. read more
