What an excellent place to eat and hang out. The Henry is a fantastic place. I got the burger and fries and shared a goat cheese salad. The food was exceptionally fresh. I really mean it. We had high quality greens in the salad, there wasn't a wilted leaf there. The burger had excellent meat, cooked to order with a great bun. The venue is totally accommodating to working or hanging out for long periods of time. There's large tables for working. There's also free WiFi that you can use for 2 hours at a time. I've dined at many of the "finer" restaurants in the Phoenix area, and I've been suitably impressed by most. It has, however, been a long time since a restaurant really blew me away. The Henry did so. It was on Open Table's list of the top 100 restaurants in the US (based on Open Table reviews). Five restaurants in Ariona made the list, but we hadn't heard of The Henry. I decided to take my Beau for a nice birthday dinner and have a look. The Frontage is attractive, and the dining area, kitchen and bar all share a very large, open, airy space. It was a bit louder than we prefer, but we enjoyed the open area, rustic dacor and overall vibe. We started with the braised short rib pot stickers. They were nicely steamed with a crispy bottom, and teeming with flavor. My entrée was the Caramelized Sea Scallops with brussels leaf, parsnip crème fraiche, mushroom preserve and toasted pine nut gremolata. The scallops were perfectly cooked with a nice crust, and the combination of flavors was frankly amazing. We could have enjoyed the accoutrement as a side dish of its own, and it perfectly accented the flavor of the scallops. Her entrée was the Braised Short Rib with bourbon caramel, roasted mushroom, fourme d'ambert and smashed potatoes. The meat was slow roasted, tender and flavorful, again with the perfect accoutrement. I especially liked the whole roasted cloves of garlic in the potatoes. We enjoyed a side dish of Crispy Sweet Potatoes in a sweetish sauce with walnuts. Dessert was the Warm Croissant Bread Pudding with toasted pecan, caramel ice cream and whiskey raisins. It was light and delicate, with lots of fruit and a great combination of flavors. This was a meal to be eaten slowly and savored. The combination of subtle flavors in every dish was a joy to experience. Alex, our server, took the time to explain the dishes in detail and provided truly excellent service. If you haven't tried The Henry, you are missing out on one of the best dining experiences in the Phoenix area. We will be returning often. read more

First time trying out a Fox restaurant since moving to the valley and this place did not disappoint! Their Korean Prime Skirt Steak is so flavorful and paired so well with fried rice. The gin and tonic cocktail had the right level of citrusy notes and was also one of the best g&t I've had. Quite unrelatedly, being as weird and picky as I am, I dislike having a non-working candle on a dining table and asked our server to replace it, but she never did (it was not lit when we were seated). I usually don't like to do the whole "brunch" thing mostly because I hate waiting long lines and to me I feel like most places I'm better off making the food at home. However that was not the case with the Henry. I was blown away with how good the quality was for my rancheros breakfast bowl. That green sauce was something special I tell ya! The strawberry French toast was also phenomenal and liked the toasted coconut touch on it. Sangria was 10/10 Reservations are recommended unless you are lucky like me who got seated right away after someone cancelled their reservation last minute. Wanted to give this more stars. However the service was so bad I cannot justify it. We brought friends here from out of town for lunch. How it started: The waitress brought the wrong wine. A white instead of a Cabernet ( very different colors !) On getting the correct wine she pours it on my husbands phone. She apologized but never got a napkin or cleaned it up! We had to mop the wine from the table. I ordered egg instead of avocado on my salad. No egg- all avocado! Then after she was told the mishap with the egg she brought over one egg and charged $3 extra! Additionally three of us were served first without our friend. Bad. We've been to The Henry many times and never once have we been disappointed. Upon arrival you'll find the atmosphere to be fun and lively. The decor is fantastic and the staff is always friendly and upbeat. The wide variety of cocktails is excellent and they have a great wine list. Always order the short rib potstickers. They are beyond delicious!!! We love the fish tacos for lunch and the short rib or Korean steak for dinner--superb! The Henry is fantastic for a date night, girls lunch or dinner with friends. I came here from a strong recommendation from a co worker to check out this place for breakfast. We came in around 9:30 and they told us the wait was going to be 20 minutes even though we could see empty tables everywhere! So we sat at the bar to get served right away. I quickly understood why our wait was going to be long, because by 10 am there was a line out the door to get into the place!! So make sure to make a reservation or come early! Had a strange experience (for the Henry) out on the patio yesterday for an 11:15 ressy. The waitress was being very social with a table without making sure the other tables were fully served - asking for refills, explaining menu, closing checks out, making sure the customer is satisfied, etc. If the party is waiting 10-15 minutes to close out a check while the waiter or waitress is socializing, it is just not acceptable. I am all for waiters or waitresses interacting with customers for those who are diligent and have covered their tables. There was a certain negative energy from this wait staff. Honestly it was just an overall blah/strange experience. Maybe that waitress was having an off day but at least show some urgency for an expensive brunch. read more

Nope, I can pay for a bigger portion and better food and better service somewhere else. Hour and a half waited for our food. They said is right next to the big open doors and every time they open we froze. There was no way to let her waitress know because she never came back for an hour and 40 minutes just to give us our food and then leave never got refills on anything . I had a flag her down so I can pay the bill. I'm not exaggerating these portions were way too tiny for the amount we paid. Over all the table bill was over $600 and not worth it read more

I absolutely do not recommend this place. We had a work event on the patio reserved with food and drinks. The event started at 6:30 and it was for around 100 people, which they obviously knew how many people were coming. By 7:10, nearly all of the food was out and the serving trays were empty. We asked if there would be more food coming out and the very rude sever said yes that they would be refilling all of the food before the event ended. At 7:45, the trays were still empty and they started bringing out the desserts, so I said to my coworker "oh I don't think they're going to bring more food" not in a condescending way and the server snapped at me and said "THEY WILL BE BRINGING MORE FOOD". Moral of the story, they never brought more food out which is FINE but why was I lied to and spoken to so poorly???? Lack of class and respect from this place. Would be negative stars if I could. We flew in from out of town and went straight to a the Henry to eat before our Air BnB was ready. We were undressed as we came straight from the airport. This place is more upscale. I recommend a reservation. This place was packed. They stated it was a 20 min wait but we ended up only waiting half that. The food was not only visually appealing but tasted great! They have an open kitchen concept so you can see all the work of the back of the house staff. The manager came to our table to make sure our visit was going well. Drinks were fantastic as well! The Henry is always consistent, unique, and surprising. This is probably the best Caesar salad I've ever eaten in my life. The scallops were made perfectly seared just right to order. Love this establishment! Great menu with not an overwhelming amount of options but just enough to cater to all tastes. I love the lobster tagliatelle pasta, braised short rib, and Korean prime skirt steak. Was not disappointed with my choices! The portions aren't huge but filling enough for me and was still able to save some for leftovers. I couldn't pass on the truffle fries either. Hayley our server 2 of the times I have been here is wonderful and sweet. She had recommendations for our table. Love the coffee shop area up front to wait at. They do honor reservations. read more

We've been to The H COUNTLESS times since my original review 9 (!) years ago. I've brought so many out of state friends/family visiting here to dine. We moved into the area a few years ago and were so pumped it was now only a bike ride away vs. a half hour drive. Man, it's just not the same anymore.
