    Great rooftop area

Full disclosure: I'm a Bills fan so this is review is from that perspective. This should be on every Bills fan's bucket list. This is hands down the best Bills Backer bar I've ever been to. You should come here for a game and sit in the outside rooftop area (which overlooks the ocean). What makes this place special besides the beach? Great DJ, incredible service and even a mascot shows up. On top of that they have an incredible tap selection and also Labatt. This was one of the highlights of my trip and if I'm ever in the area will always stop by on game day. If you're not a Bills fan it still has a great beer selection, great service and plenty of seating inside and out. So I would still say my review would stand being a Bills fan or not.

THE LOCAL @ PACIFIC BEACH Parking is available for street, if you're lucky you can easily snatch one on the street that Local is located in. First time coming in, there was a short line for ID checks, this is a bar that's pretty popular for the college scene. Stepping in, I loved how they had a patio outside, and both upstairs and downstairs had different music. Bathrooms were very clean, drinks were affordable, and I really like how much space there was here. No cover either! The music was good downstairs, definitely wished it was reflected both downstairs and upstairs because I liked the vibe of upstairs more but music was better downstairs. Overall, looks like a great spot to get drinks and hang out with some friends. This area does have many police cars coming by, people getting arrested or things going down, so definitely recommend being aware and careful!

The local is a two story bar on one of the main strips in PB where locals usually go out on the weekends and during the day on the weekdays Pros: I like the two floors, both providing their own unique atmosphere. The bottom floor has outdoor games like corn hole as well as tvs and a DJ. The bar is close by and will be busy when going out on a weekend night. The upstairs was a different atmosphere with more strobe lights and a new DJ. There is an outdoor patio area here too where there is a VIP section if you want to book that. I wouldn't recommend that though. Bathrooms are accessible on the first floor. Parking will be tough as the only available options are street parking or pay to park areas. There is no cover charge which is nice. Cons: lines to get in can become increasingly long as a weekend night progresses, I went on a Friday night. I ordered a beer at the bar and spent about $10 for a mango cart, so be prepared to spend money here on drinks. There is a capacity upstairs and security will close up the stairwell until people leave. So after waiting in a long line outside, there may be another long line once you get in. They try and make this away from the bar so people can drink but with an overwhelming amount of people, they will be awkwardly standing there blocking others from going to the bar. Verdict: I give this place four stars because on a weekend night, you can have loads of fun here. Bring the right crowd with you and your night will be good. However, save your money and don't buy crazy drinks here as it will be expensive. Lines and parking could be your biggest factors to not make this any better. Uber here if you can if parking is not your strong suit.

I've been here serval times for both dinner and brunch, and more recently for a San Diego FC watch party. It was well organized and a lot of fun to watch the match with fellow SDFC fans. The servers were very attentive, with a special shout out to Katie! Friendly, managing the crowd like a champ, and always with an attitude that she likes working there. Our recent time there, we got spring rolls and mini burritos, and Big Ass Nachos , perfect amount of food to split for two people who hasn't eaten all day haha. Plenty of TVs to watch the game, and since it was an official watch party, every tv was on the match including the bar upstairs. I made the mistake of misplacing my wallet that night and security and staff were very helpful in getting it back to me the next day (also perfect excuse to grab some brunch)

Such a fun place... and even more fun to watch a Bills game! We have been here a few times from Vegas, but recently got to watch a Bills game there since are a fans. Awesome energy and layout. It can't get any better watching a game, looking out onto the beach with some beer and wings. Service is always top notch and fast. The cold labatt drafts go down nice and cold and the chicken wings were awesome! Can't wait to return when in town.

Pretty good spot in PB to watch sports. Loud environment. Food was ok and service was pretty slow, but it was crowded! Perfect location in downtown PB a block from the beach.

food and drinks were amazing & not too expensive! we went for a bills game, and even with how crowded it was, service was fast & the servers were kind and helpful. I loved all of the TVs and the upstairs-downstairs options for seating. will definitely be back soon!

Great place for $3.99 tacos every day! Clayton at the bar is a legend, super amazing staff and fun atmosphere. The weekends go off!! Definitely a staple in PB!!

I've been here a handful of times, mostly during football season, and while it's a touchdown when it comes to the atmosphere, there are definitely some things that could use a little more protection. This place is a Buffalo Bills bar, so expect it to be rowdy on Sundays, especially when the game kicks off at 10 AM. If you want to get in for a big game, be prepared for a long drive down the field aka there's usually a line that stretches out the door and around the corner. You don't want to show up 15 minutes before kickoff or you'll be penalized with a spot on the bench aka waiting outside until the second quarter. The energy is high, though with Buffalo swag being raffled away and a beer chugging contest. As for the food? It's just meh. Not a game-changer, but it'll fill you up. As for drinks, there's your Labatt Blue along with some local San Diego beers to choose from However, the bathrooms need some serious attention. When it's packed, there just aren't enough to handle the crowd..it's like a fumble waiting to happen. The two floors and patios are cool, and there are high-top tables sprinkled around but if you're planning to sit and eat, good luck. When it's packed it's mostly standing room only. On non-game days, though, this place is a ghost town. The energy is gone and so are the drink specials. To sum it up..If you're a Bills fan and you're here for the games, it's a great place to catch the action. If you're coming in off-season or looking for a more relaxed vibe. Could be better, but it's not a total loss.

Bad Serivce rude bouncers. Was mistreated by the bouncers when checking upon arrival.

You have to be within 7 days of your requested reservation date so as soon as I was closer I set up a reservation through Open Table. They do require a deposit which was fine because it made sure that we had the lanes needed for our party. I actually ended up calling the Tavern and Bowl to see if they had any earlier reservations and they told me if the person who requested an earlier time didn't pay the deposit I'd get the time slot. I am so lucky because these people didn't pay their deposit and we got the time and the lane. Cute thing, you can actually have kids come too, my niece who is 5 got to come along and they had a little device for her so she can push the ball, she ended up beating me. Everyone was so kind and service was so smooth and efficient, we got to bring donuts for our party and my husband and I ordered the carnitas nachos, they were delicious. Seriously such a great time, obviously this is before the Padres season so we lucked out on parking but this is a great place to host birthday parties. Thank you again for letting us have such a great time!

Captain's Log, Stardate 21483…read more This past Sunday, I charted a course to Nicky Rottens in Coronado, a delightful establishment located at the end of Orange Avenue. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by an uplifting open-air environment, truly a breath of fresh air that felt like stepping onto the observation deck of the USS Enterprise. The amazing views of the bay were nothing short of spectacular, bringing a serene beauty that rivals the finest star systems. Over the years, my wife, her girlfriend, and I have become frequent travelers to this culinary haven, beaming back for nearly 15 years--a testament to its enduring allure. The selection of IPAs and mixed drinks is impressive, catering to even the most discerning palates in the galaxy. The choices are vast enough to satisfy anyone embarking on this flavor exploration, whether you prefer a refreshing drink to toast a successful mission or something bolder, like a phaser on stun! The menu features a delightful array of options, including fresh salads, tantalizing finger foods, and, of course, their famed burgers. My wife's enthusiasm for the offerings has always been infectious, and during this visit, she and her girlfriend were on a culinary adventure of their own, indulging in the flavors that have made Nicky Rottens a local favorite. The burgers are truly out of this world--juicy, flavorful, and expertly crafted to ensure a warp-speed experience with every bite. You'll find that each dish is prepared with precision, as if overseen by a skilled chef with the abilities of a Vulcan and the passion of a true culinary Starfleet officer. In conclusion, Nicky Rottens is a prime destination for anyone seeking a vibrant atmosphere, stunning views, and a solid meal. I can confidently say that if you ever find yourself in Coronado, this establishment is a must-visit. After all, it's just one small step for man, and one giant leap into deliciousness! Aside from that, they're generic normal tasting tater tots. For the burger, I liked the bun and other ingredients, but thought the savoriness of the meat was just okay. Also, can't say I'm a huge fan of the tiny lettuce whenever I see it. Overall, this joint is not bad, but I can think of very little about it that stands out. I don't feel that it fully leans into being a sports bar or dive bar or even as a burger joint. It's just.....a bar.
