We impulsively ordered takeout from The Melt after seeing the great reviews and hearing about it from friends. Overall this place was really good and can definitely see myself craving it again. I got a double chocolate shake, malted, and it was amazing!! For my meal I got their mac and cheese and it was so flavorful creamy and cheesy, and the breadcrumbs were so good. I also added bacon which make it killer. My partner got the melt burger which he devoured. We also got a side of the garlic fries which were good, but I think we want to eat in next time so it's nice and crispy. I also love that they include huge pickles, this is an essential. I feel like The Melt is hyped up. I remember hearing about one of the locations in Saratoga opening up and I wanted to try it out but didn't get a chance to dine-in until recently at their Santa Clara location. I like to think of myself as a sandwich connoisseur since one of my first jobs was at Togo's (which is primarily a Westcoast-based sandwich chain). Not the fanciest place by any means but I feel like I have a general idea or two of what a good sando should entail. Ok, now back to regular programming. For a sandwich, burger, and salad-based joint, there's ample seating inside and they even have dining tables outside too! I decided to order the, "Italian Job", which essentially is a cheese sandwich with mushrooms along with a side of parmesan garlic fries from the self-service kiosk. The sandwich is kind of a ripoff ($9) since it's something I think anyone could make very easily at home. I didn't find that it was to die for and I don't think it's worth coming back a second time around. The garlic fries were also unnecessarily oily with way too many greasy pieces of garlic adorned throughout. I struggled to eat those fries which is unusual since I'm a french fry girl. Was recently in the area and decided to stop by for lunch. You can either order at the counter or you can also order on your own. I went with the latter, and received a text when my order was ready at the counter. We tried their three cheese classic, garlic Parmesan fries, classic chicken sandwich, and a strawberry milkshake. Everything was delicious, with the exception of the fries. I was unfortunately not a fan. Although the table we sat at needed some cleaning, I really have no complaints. I'm so sad. My absolute favorite chocolate milkshakes come from the Melt. I had work today at 2pm and stopped in to grab a milkshake since I work on this Saturday. I even splurged and got fries. Ordered food to enjoy by the pool and realized that the fries I ordered for the kids' burgers weren't in the bag. I called to let them know for a refund as we didn't want to drive back for some fries. The man who was on the other end of the phone was very pleasant to speak with and told me that he was going to refund the fries, which I was totally fine with. I was craving something cheesy, so my partner and I came to this location of The Melt the other day. We came for lunch on a weekday and had no trouble finding parking. They have kiosks you can order from inside, as well as restrooms and plenty of seating. I decided to get the Mac Daddy while my partner got an Original MeltBurger, and our order came out fairly quickly. The outside of my sandwich was crispy, and the mac and cheese inside was solid. I'm not the biggest fan of bacon, but it tasted really good together with everything else. My partner's burger was nice and juicy as well. It stood out to me as we were parking so I checked out their menu and signed up for their Rewards program. As we walked into this hip, clean, well lit and plenty of seating establishment we were greeted by Clark who told us we could choose anywhere to sit. I think you can order at the counter but we chose to order at the kiosk. The menu is extensive and each item is pretty eye catching that it makes you wanna come back and try other items. We ordered the Patty Melt with an Egg, the Double Patty Mushroom Swiss Burger, Baked Mac and Cheese and the kids Mac and Cheese. We also had their oreo shake and tried their Alameda Craft sodas. It was my second time ever coming here and both times were great! My friend and I ordered through the kiosk, but once it came to paying, the screen notified us that there were technical difficulties. It was no problem and we decided to order at the counter instead. The cashier, Ash, was more than happy to assist us. We ordered our food and were on our way. After our meal, Ash walked up to our table informing us that we might have gotten charged twice--once for the kiosk and the other for the counter. He was attentive enough to remember our order and realize that we got an extra charge. He had us check our account to confirm if we did so that he can immediately refund us. After showing him that we did get charged twice, he immediately explained that he was going to start the refund and that it'll take 5-7 days to complete. Once he completed the transaction and returned, he told us to give it a week and if the money still doesn't hit our account, to email customer service.
