We've been here a couple times and it's been a Boston tradition at this point. We always sit at the bar and was always so enthralled with the caricatures that was painted in the walls. They're the regulars that have earned a spot in the wall. We sat down and I ordered an Italian 75 from their cocktail menu. I was really impressed with the drink list as well as this cocktail. Fantastic take on the French 75! We were only here for a short while so we ordered shrimp cocktail and some oysters. Both were delicious and tasted very fresh. We sat a bit at the bar and then planned out the rest of our day. Great place!

As always excellent conversation with my nephew over a great dinner in a stunning atmosphere!

Chicken parm

This review is about private party spacing. I attended a continuing education program in their private enclosed patio space. The dinner and servers were well- organized. We had a set menu with a few options. The servers were very good. Most of us had the filet mignon- a colleague had the chicken parm which was enormous. The heat lamps were too hot when on and too cold when off- it was a temperature battle all evening. But that was just a mild distraction. The first was cooked perfectly as ordered. The servers moved around during the program without being disruptive. Good space and food options if you have a private event.

Linguine & clams in a delightful sauce!

It was a bit hit or miss at our table. My dish started out fine, but I couldn't get through it. Part of the pasta was a bit too al dente - and the other part was spot on. The rest of the table gave mixed reviews as well. Someone ordered shrimp which was fantastic - but the lady next to him hardly touched her dish. You hate to leave a poor review because the venue and the service was epic. Our server was fantastic and handled a table of 12 with professionalism. But - like some of my hometown reviews - if you are going to be charging a high price for your meals - everyone should be impressed at the table. No one even tried for dessert (0/12).

Chicken Parm Sandwich

I had an awkward lunch here recently... I came here with colleagues for lunch during the week. I ordered the chicken parm sandwich. It came served on a...hamburger bun?? A HAMBURGER BUN!! I couldn't get over how awkward this was for me as I've never had it like this before. Its always come on a sub roll at any other place I've ordered this. I gave it a shot and it tasted just as awkward as it looked; the soft & spongy hamburger bun did not hold up and is a poor vessel for a heavy piece of chicken smothered in sauce. The bun turned into a wet soggy mess. I started eating the chicken parm alone with a fork & knife, which was actually delicious and made me wish I had pasta on the side. The fries that came with the sandwich were also delicious and tasted like they came from real potatoes. There was also a small, awkward side of pickled veggies on my plate. Like why?? They certainly did not go with or compliment my meal in any way. Almost seemed like they were put there by accident. The food here seems high quality, but awkwardly put together. I think there are definitely better and less expensive options in the area!

Great drinks, great time and great service as always. Never a miss at the palm. Thank you.

7 ounce wagyu filet and lobster tail
Karen H.

Surprised by the lower reviews for this restaurant. The food was amazing, the service was impecable and the ambiance was classic Boston. I ordered a Wagyu filet with a lobster tail accompanied by creamed spinach, scalloped potatoes and fries. We had the indulgent sea food tower which was enough to share with 7 people. The food was so delicious and the steak so tender. I lost my beanie and the waiters went out of their way to find it. Would love to come back and visit.

Gigi salad, bone marrow soup
Karina Z.

Very nice atmosphere. Ordered the Gigi salad and the shrimp tasted bland and the bacon tasted off. Ordered two of these salads and they both tasted ehh. The iceberg lettuce was wilted and I could make a better salad at home. We also got the bone marrow soup! That was a 4/5. The soup was good. For the price of the salad, totally not worth it.

Crème brûlée

We've been to this restaurant several times and have had good experiences. The steak was cooked to my husband's request and the asparagus was cooked perfectly. The waiter was very helpful in crafting a gluten free dish for me. I had the Chilean Sea Bass in a tomato sauce with vegetables. The fish was very moist and with the sauce, it was very flavorful. I don't usually get dessert, but I splurged and got the vanilla crème brûlée -- yum! My husband always enjoys the affogato - just the presentation makes your mouth water. The high ceiling and columns along with the sketches of prominent actors, politicians, and comedians on the wall makes it an engaging atmosphere.

Bigger bottle than normal, woohoo!

Soon as he found out we came all the way from Hawaii, he made us feel right at home. Real good energy, super welcoming, and took care of us the whole night. The adults started with a couple Manhattans, and da buggahs had mana . Exactly how a Manhattan supposed to be. For appetizers, we went with the full Abe's Seafood Tower and the Caesar salad. I highly recommend both. My daughter and son went all in, and the homemade croutons made that Caesar salad pop. We liked the oysters so much, we ended up ordering another dozen. Sahin told us the Duxbury oysters (I think that's the ones we had) are local to the Boston region and are farmed in the upper water column above the oyster bed, which keeps them in the current and gives them that clean, briny taste. Mean, supah ono! For the main, we shared the 22 oz bone in ribeye and lobster tail. Steak was cooked proper, juicy, flavorful, just how it should be. Sahin even offered to have the steak sliced up for us, which was a nice touch. For sides, we had the au gratin potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Both were super tasty, and the Brussels sprouts had that perfect char. Ended the meal with da cookie dessert which had homemade whipped cream. Overall, real good experience. Great food, great drinks, and service that made us feel comfortable from the jump. If you staying in Boston and like seafood and steak, this spot is worth checking out. Just note, it's a typical Boston setting, everybody talk loud haha. Mahalo plenty, Sahin. It was a pleasure. I give dis place, 2 shakas and an auriiite!

Given the choice, however, I now prefer the modern, polished, almost clubby feel of this location in the Seaport. The restaurant isn't particularly large, but it's a beautifully designed space. For larger groups, they have a few round tables that work especially well, including one that perfectly accommodated our party of seven. You can always count on a great dining experience at any of Chef Jamie Mammano's restaurants. His commitment to the highest quality chow, attentive service, fine wines, and an elegant atmosphere has made him one of Boston's most respected restaurateurs. Our meal here was spectacular. The cocktails were perfectly crafted, and it's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. Standout starters included the Wagyu Beef Dumplings, Tuna Tartare, and the Dry-Aged Bolognese Lumache. For entrées, we shared several different cuts of steak, all expertly prepared and presented sliced for the table. The Beef Wellington is also fantastic here. The sides are uniformly excellent, but don't miss the Char-Roasted Heirloom Carrots with Honey and the Yukon Gold Potatoes. Desserts are equally impressive. Highly recommend both the Milk & Cookies and the Bananas Foster. I'd like to especially thank our waitress, who provided exceptional service and helped make the evening truly special. We were celebrating my son's graduation, and her warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail enhanced what was already a memorable occasion. I also appreciated the excellent service from their new sommelier. Mooo continues to set the standard for the modern Boston steakhouse experience. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The reservation process was easy and a group of 5 was easily accommodated on the day and time requested. We arrived together after a short walk from the office. Bonus points to Moooo for not only having complimentary coat check, but also safe bag storage knowing much of their clientele on a weeknight is in transit from the office to home. Please people, don't forget to tip the coat check girls, it is only the right thing to do. Seated at our table the restaurant was initially fairly empty, but filled up nicely while we are already enjoying cocktails, wine, and appetizers. The long bar followed by tables of various sizes filled the restaurant, but it never was too loud and there was plenty of space between tables that you did not feel like you were sitting on top of each other or listening to their conversation more then the person across from your own table. Like most fine dining experiences, the complimentary rolls were served warm and lathered in melted butter. Sinful!. We ordered several appetizers for the table to share including tuna tartare which was very tasty and recommended. I also recommend the Japanese wagyu beef dumplings which were both delicate and savory. Lastly, the calamari was crispy and hot with the right amount of heat from the lemon and herb aioli. To accompany the entrees we ordered the broccolini, Yukon gold potatoes and the highly recommended tater tots. The only issue we had was with the tots which we collectively thought were both slightly over cooked and tasted "different". Said another way, I have never had a tater tot that didn't leave me wanting to eat them one after another until they were all gone, but this one was more than enough and more than 3/4 of the serving was left for the bus-person. Three of us ordered the 8oz Omaha filet which were cooked to perfection and delicious. Why is there not a 12 oz offering like most steak houses? Literally mine looked like it was 4 oz on the large, stark white plate when served. Thankfully being cooked to a perfect medium rare and accompanies by a bordelaise sauce which is also a rarity to find offered, was a treat. The prime New York sirloin and prime ribeye were equally cooked perfectly and delicious. We passed on dessert or after dinner drinks, but certainly enjoyed our visit. I have eaten at the Beacon Hill location previously, but this was my first experience in the seaport, but it won't be my last.

The steaks were expertly prepared, the sides were very good, and the service was professional, attentive, and polished from start to finish. The wine list was also thoughtfully curated, with plenty of excellent choices. Unfortunately, the ambiance did not match the quality of the food or the prices. We measured the noise level throughout dinner at approximately 76-81 dB, making conversation difficult without raising our voices. For a restaurant where steaks range from around $76 to over $200 for Wagyu, I expected a more refined, relaxed atmosphere. I was also surprised by how casually many guests were dressed. I have no objection to casual attire in general, but at this price point I was expecting more of a special-occasion dining experience. Instead, many diners were wearing Bermuda shorts, T-shirts, and sneakers, which made the atmosphere feel more like a busy upscale neighborhood restaurant than a luxury steakhouse. If you're looking for outstanding food and excellent service, Mooo delivers. If you're looking for a quiet, elegant fine-dining experience where you can enjoy a conversation over dinner, you may be disappointed.

Our waiter was great when it came to knowing the menu, fan favorite, and getting an understanding of what we liked so he could help make some recommendations whenever we had questions. We started with the caviar dip which, unfortunately, was a bit of a let down, especially for the price. It's about $32 and the crème fraiche completely overpowers any amount of caviar they include with the dip. I was honestly a bit disappointed in this one. Additionally, they serve the dip with bags of their house chips, but there's nowhere near enough chips to finish off the dip, so much of ours ended up wasted. For my meal, I ordered the grilled rainbow trout, and that was great. It comes with a delicious glaze and grilled lime you can squeeze into the trout. Also, unexpected, but the fennel and celery herb salad that comes on the side of the dish is truly incredible! We finished off the evening with their pistachio tiramisu, and that was also incredible! It's loaded with pistachio cream and comes covered in a toffee topping, which was a great way to end the meal. Overall, this place is cool and the food was overall good. However, considering the price point, I'd say there are better places to eat around Boston.
