    Guerdy's Guedrys Gumbo Dinner
    Millie C.

Our fourth time here and it did not disappoint yet again. Raymond was our server and he was great at asking the right questions to then give us his recommendations based on our answers. His service was top notch! Ambiance is always cool. Our food was EXCELLENT once again!

The delicious shrimp poboy with equally delicious red beans and rice.
    Anthony S.

Still love the place, the vibe is still outstanding as is the food. Sat at the bar today and the BT was very pleasant and provided amazing service. I started with an ice cold beer which was well appreciated on a day where temps hit 100 degrees. For sustenance I ordered a shrimp poboy, with remoulade instead of tartar sauce, with a cup of red beans and rice on the side. Both were delicious and quite filling. Also was impressed that the owner actually comes out and talks to his customers. He even recognized me, and I hadn't seen him since he owned The French Quarter way back in the day. lol I highly recommend this restaurant, hell I drove all the way from the other side of town just to eat there.

    Delicious catfish

Four for dinner the other evening. They don't have a huge menu, but the selections are unusual (catfish, frog legs) and they are done so nicely. And the prices are not crazy, considering the quality of the food. I tried the catfish for the first time. It comes fish-fry style with more fries than I could possibly eat. The fish was perfectly breaded and fried, really enjoyed it. They have some nice pasta dishes which a couple of our guests ordered and really enjoyed. The service was good - our waitress got us our drinks and checked on us while we were having our entrees. The ambiance is a bit odd - kind of dark, velvet-backed seating, etc. I suppose to emulate the opulence of the French Quarter. Just be aware that it is not brightly lit. Great quality food at non-extortion prices. We will return regularly.

Colorful southern restaurant with kind, warm, friendly staff. The catfish was succulent, savory, lightly battered and perfectly crisped golden. Hand cut fries were also cooked to perfection and covered in fresh herbs. Local wine offerings and an incredibly creative menu made it tough to choose!

    Drunken Angel

Hands down the best pasta I've ever had, no exaggeration. The drunken angel is creamy, savory and absolutely mouth watering. I'm still craving it. All the dishes we tried were so good. Our start of the charbroiled oysters was an amazing choice. They were perfectly flavored and served warm. The hush puppies were crispy but not dry, with a lil spice to them. My parents loved both their dishes as well! Highly recommend trying them if you make a visit to Tuscan! We were sat outside due to how busy it was (was still beautiful) but if you want inside come at an odd time of day or make a reservation. Our server was amazing too, very informative and attentive! Let us know all the specials and was very kind and warm!

The eclectic decor was the best thing about this place. My guy and I tried Guedry's Gumbo and added shrimp. We love gumbo normally, but this wasn't anything special. It was very peppery, heavy on the rice vs protein, and very unmemorable. The hush puppies it came with were really nicely cooked and had a good crisp to them. I enjoyed the gumbo only when dipping the hush puppies in them. For dessert, we tried the Pickle Berry Pie since we had never heard of anything like that before. Every bite was a punch of flavor and not in a good way. There was just too much going on and it became overwhelming after the 2nd or 3rd bite. Interesting to try, but I would not get it again nor recommend. This was the most expensive gumbo I've ever had and it was probably the least satisfying. Thankfully, I was not too hungry because I do not have high hopes for their other dishes.

We've been maybe three times now on various Tucson visits & had a wonderful dinner this time. Great server, Raymond, knowledgeable & around when needed. Cute interior, fun cocktails. Happy hour 3pm-6pm. We got the roasted oysters but were disappointed in them. They were not like roasted oyster we had in NO. They had some kind of a spicy creamy sauce which just overtook the oysters. Just this cream of mushroom soup-like quality, barely taste the texture of the oysters. (Go with the raw). I had the rainbow trout which was perfection, very very good. Husband had the gumbo with shrimp & hush puppies & he loved his meal--excellent! I swapped him a hush puppy for one of my potato wedges, and they were one of the best I've had. Chopped jalapeño bits & very crispy exterior.

This was our first time at your restaurant. The food was off the chain. My wife ordered the dish with pasta, shrimp, and crawfish. I ordered the Gumbo with crawfish tails, and hush puppies. And our server was very courteous and helpful. Sorry I forgot his name. And the restaurant is decorated very nicely. We were just passing through Tucson, but if we do travel there in the future we'll definitely come back again.

This is hands down our favorite restaurant in Tucson. Loved the vibe and the service was great. We had the salmon and the shrimp and grits. Both dishes had amazing flavors and kept you wanting more. We would eat here every night if possible. A must when in the area! Love it!

Oyster po-boy and hush puppies. Delicious!
    Marion R.

I haven't been here in years, but we went there today for lunch, and it was so good! The oyster po-boy and hush puppies were perfect. My husband loved his Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the side salad. I had a bite too and it was crazy spicy, but yum! Love the decor-very New Orleans! Made me want to go on a trip. The service was really good too-our server kept that Diet Coke coming.

    Trout.... So tasty!
    Carolyn M.

Tasty food and great service! Loved the dark decor upon entering! Ample seating both in and out.... And busy! As a frequent solo traveler, I'm used to getting seated at the bar. And usually the service is ok. But here, the service was outstanding. I strolled in after a hike thirsty and hungry. This bartender was diligent in keeping that sparkling water flowing. She's a gem. Dinner was trout and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked. Sides were great, too. 10/10. I'll definitely be back and will be sharing this spot with my coworkers.

This was our first time at The Parish, but definitely not the last. We are fans of New Orleans style cooking so when we saw the Seafood Boil we had to try it. (Available on Tuesdays beginning at 4:00pm). What a delicious meal. We started off with the Oysters on the half shell. They were meaty and seasoned perfectly. Sorry for the poor photo. The decor is like walking into a French Quarter cafe without it being overdone. The booth we sat in was comfortable. Our server was Laura. She is a beautiful person inside and out. She was very attentive and knowledgeable. You can tell she likes likes her job and is interested in her customers having the best dining experience available. They have a good wine list, beers and a full bar. We strongly recommend The Parish. Maybe we'll see you there. We're going back for the fried Catfish.

Shrimp and grits (one of the best meals I've ever eaten)
    Chelsea J.

Still a 10/10. The service is the best, the food is incredible. I tried the mussels for the first time and they were fresh, bursting with flavor, and the portion size was huge. I also got my favorite meal there, shrimp and grits, and learned you can split it between 2 plates and each person gets a full size of collards. There are very few tables so make a reservation because they're almost always booked up.

The Parish Burger (demolished it), and cornbread. I ate it all. That all I have to say. Drinks are great. . You will not be disappointed.

I may have never tasted anything more delicious. I took home more than enough for a fabulous lunch. The hub wasn't as thrilled. He's not that much of a seafood guy, enjoying ribs or steak previously, but he decided on the fish and chips for this outing. He's used to cod for battered fish and noted that hoki didn't hold together well, breaking into small pieces, some with breading and some without. The fish and the coating were under seasoned and bland. He wasn't happy with the fries, either. He expected regular fries as our server specified, but received shoestrings, some of which were overly crisp but the ones under the fish were soggy. He did praise the cole slaw. Although neither of us could finish our meal, we did order dessert. We shared the pecan caramel cheesecake and it was ridiculously delicious: smooth, tangy, and not too sweet. Just perfect. We managed to finish it and mentioned to the manager/owner? how good it was. He laughed and said no judging if we licked the plate. The ambiance of the dining room is elegance, almost vintage, and feels special. The restaurant was very busy, which I am thrilled to see, but quite noisy. We were so lucky to grab a parking space in the small front lot, because I have limited mobility. I would love a rail on either side of the small ramp because it is a little steep.

Very knowledgeable about the menu, and really helped guide us through the choices and the process (sauces, spice levels, where they apply, and details about specific dishes). Pacing was great, too. Took the wine order first, placed our appetizer first, and just a very pleasant, helpful, personable server. Will probably try the Korean wings next time, but we really love the regular chicken wings as they are. Pretty darn crispy to start with and tender and delicious. I had the fish and chips, which was excellent, with plenty of tartar sauce, and malt vinegar and the whole deal. I substituted onion rings for the Cajun fries and I was really glad I did. A little small and a little thick on the batter but still delicious and that batter stayed right on the onion rings. The breading didn't slip off at all. My wife had the Twin Lobster Rolls and they were excellent. And really quite a good value at $32 for two of them. I mean these days it's like almost $30 for one of them. But more importantly, they tasted really good and the roll was excellent. True New England style. Now, we would've been perfectly happy to stop there, but as much as as a surprise as the chicken wings were, the bigger surprise was the dessert - fried cornbread on top of ice cream inside a mason jar with some caramel syrup. It was absolutely delicious. I was not expecting that. It completed a really excellent dining experience and we will definitely return to the angry crab shack again when in Casa Grande. With that level of service and really good food, it's a no-brainer.
