I'd rate it zero stars if it would let me. Tried to eat here today for lunch. Ordered the chicken and waffle Benedict. Seeing as how the menu said "greens" and nothing more or less describing them as part of the dish, I proactively asked the waitress if there was any pork in the item just Incase, while looking down at the Star of David hanging on my neck. She replied with no. So I ordered it. I hadn't eaten in an entire day due to working an event on the boat and dove into the meal the second it arrived. Upon first bite, I tasted something very foreign and nauseating. So I slid the waffle aside, promptly revealing the huge chunks of pork underneath. I asked to speak to a manager and the managers initial response was an excuse saying "generally collard greens are prepared with pork". Where the f*ck does it say collard greens on the menu? And furthermore, why is that the first response given to someone, as an excuse, who just ingested something against their religion for the first time in many many years? I feel extremely disrespected and still sick from this experience. Something was put in my body against my will. F*ck this place and f*ck your bullsh*t excuses. read more

Médiocre food for a premium price. 18$ for a chicken salad sandwich on a tiny croissant. Mediocre service. They wouldn't sub mixed greens for a meager fruit cup. I could buy an infinitely better bottle of wine for less than my glass. It's basically theme park food. Our server was not able to tell me or find out which wine was more to suitable for my palate. For $15 I'd like know which wine I should choose. Overall very unimpressed and actually pretty annoyed. Since it's NYE and I'm on vacation, I'm letting nothing upset me... otherwise I might have given a one star. Oh, upon arriving the host asked us how we could possibly be hungry! Why else do people go to restaurants? We are dressed to the nines in Art Deco period attire. I assure you we couldn't have been mistaken for possibly a couple that may have just eaten here. The food was mediocre and the service even lower than that. Staff not attentive and the bottomless coffee pot has to be begged for. Only ate breakfast here as we were hotel guests for the night. 2 stars as the oatmeal was decent but this could easily be a one star rating . read more

Only good thing was they were totally on top of refilling coffee. I ordered biscuits and gravy with grits. Grits weren't availAble so I got greasy potatoes that tasted old. The gravy was very salty and very thin. The biscuits were more like stale English muffins. My dish came with 2 eggs prepared however you like. When I ordered the waiter didn't ask me how I wanted the eggs. He just looked at me and said "over easy" and walked away. Fortunately that's how I would have ordered them but who tells a customer this is how you'll get them. Just get a coffee at midship marketplace and call it. read more

The food is pretty okay. I think they do a couple things really well, like the club sandwich and crab cakes. Go for a late lunch, ask for a table by a window, order a club sandwich with soup, and enjoy the view of Rainbow Harbor and downtown Long Beach. Always works for me. read more

Amazing breakfast esp if you are staying at the hotel in the ship. Attentive service and all the coffee and orange juice you could ask for clouded with the buffet. It's a great deal $15. I had had some misadventure trying to find a breakfast nook in the shoreline village in Rajnbow Lagoon, where nothing really opens til 10am. I drive back to the Queen Mary and was pleasantly surprised by the selection, freshness and service. We're staying for 3 more days and I look forward to hearty breakfasts aboard! read more

3 of us were there for the Shamrock n Roll event last Saturday and although we had eaten earlier, couldn't resist eating at the PromenadeCafe post-exploring the ship. We shared the burger which came with thick cut fries, cobb salad w blue cheese and for dessert, banana split - all were quite delicious indeed! The only issue w service was the hostess who made us wait for 10 mins although the cafe was 3/4 empty! Also loved all the old photos on the wall of the cafe - with one of the Duke&Duchess of Windsor - w a caption explaining that the couple carried 155 pieces of luggage and stashed their RollsRoyce in the cargo hold during each crossing. read more

Was here for lunch this past Saturday and quite frankly it could have been better. Dining options are few and far between and nothing is great and all the prices are high so my expectations are adjusted accordingly but this place was really lacking Saturday. Ordered ice tea and it was old, watered down and foul tasting. They had no business serving this tea and it should have never been given to guests. Was forced to switch to Diet Coke because of this. We ordered the veggie wrap and a cup of soup, the Asian chicken salad and the bbq chicken salad amongst the three of us. No complaints with the veggie wrap and soup. Both salads however really missed the mark when it came to the chicken, it tasted odd and the texture was odd as well, it was not pleasant to eat. Again, its pricey for what it is and its just kind of blase and bland. Still needs more vegetarian options and a general quality improvement. Service is good however. I hope some changes are made to the quality and menu though. read more

Worst than last time. My fiance and I came for our 2 year engagement anniversary where he proposed at Chill. He wanted to have dinner here at the Queen, the Observation Bar ignored us as we stood at the door way so I remember seeing they had a veggie wrap online but to our astonishment they had removed it. Now they only had a penne pasta and boring else. Not even a veggie patty. I got a salad minus the bacon and cheese and bacon and they still charged me $17. Wow really same price as the pasta with waaaaaay less?! We headed to Chill after that and they had tons of vegetarian options!! Crepes, pizza,and burgers. read more

We have had such a wonderful time at the Queen Mary! The Promenade Cafe was another bonus of of our visit. I had the Baja fish tacos, which were delicious...but my husband had the Patty melt, which was amazing! Great service, great view, great venue! read more

It's been over a year since I visited The Queen Mary, but I do remember one thing and I can't get it off my mind; coffee. This cafe has some of the best coffee I have ever had. I'm talking plain old coffee, nothing fancy or special. I honestly can't remember what I even ordered, but if it was special I would have remembered, like the coffee. Decent food, terrible service. Waited at front with no hostess for 5 minutes then waited another 10 at table before anyone even said hello. I want to attribute it to being short staffed, but after reading the reviews it sounds fairly common. I love this restaurant. Terrific views of the harbor. The service is 100% perfect and if you've read my other yelp reviews, you know that's a lofty feat to accomplish. The menu is rather simple but great, something for everyone. If I have one complaint, it's that the management has removed certain former staples from their menus. I was told said items could be found aboard at another restaurant (the Queen Mary is MASSIVE), the staff, however offered to have said item brought from one item to theirs! Who does that??? I had lunch here this past weekend, when I was on the Queen Mary for a convention. I ordered clam chowder and garlic fries. The chowder was some of the best chowder I've had, and I'm really picky about chowder. I was impressed, as, while I love clam chowder, it's usually too runny, too bland, too peppery, too something-or-other at most places. The chowder here was thick, and it actually had more taste to it than flour and cream. I didn't care much for the fries, though, but that's more of a personal preference. I could taste the garlic, but I prefer soft fries to crunchy fries, and here they were crunchy and orange, maybe a tad bit overcooked. However, a friend in our group was commenting on how wonderful they were, and he had the same fries, so it's just a matter of personal preference. The waiter was friendly, though a tad rushed, as they were expecting a large group to come in, so he was trying to get us out as fast as he could. Still, he was friendly about it, and he didn't miss a beat. Our orders were correct, he stayed on top of refills, and he didn't miss anything. read more

Terrible! I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and although arrived fast, was pretty awful. The chicken was dry and in my opinion, inedible. The waitress, whose name was Mary, left our card on a plate of all things and never came back to accept payment. We left to inform the hostess, as we had a tour to catch! The waitress was, as we found engrossed in a conversation with another servee. After cashing out, she hasn't even comped the terrible chicken. Had dinner here while staying on the Queen Mary. I ordered the club sandwich with steak fries and some ranch on the side. The sandwich was decent-nothing particularly special but nothing bad either. I did really like the fries and the ranch, the fries were crispy and the ranch tasted homemade, and they went perfectly together. The best part about the cafe was probably the view-especially since we went at night, the shore was all lit up and it was beautiful. read more

My husband and I stayed on the Queen Mary for 2 nights. We ate here both nights. The Prime Rib was mouth watering, the vegetables were made excellent, and the baked potato? Perfectly cooked! My husband had the fish and chips, he loved the fries, but was a little turned off about the spiral serving dish used and had to use a small plate instead. They served excellent portions, almost too much. The servers are not very attentive, we did have to get their attention multiple times. But overall, a very nice experience! I am so sad to see such a low review for this restaurant. I am a total foodie (very picky) and while staying aboard The Queen Mary ate here not once but THREE times! There are many food options and I feel the price is dead on, it's a vacation it's ok to splurge! The chicken quesadillas and spicy chicken wings were both satisfying appetizers. I really liked the chicken wings, not too spicy, crisp and we wanted more. The avocado bacon burger was cooked to perfection, and the steak fries were seasoned and addicting! I also recommend the Macaroni and Cheese- it comes out hot and creamy with baked cheese and bread crumbs on top. Warning it is filling. Also if you are there in the morning you must have the breakfast buffet with the bottomless coffee (eggs, sausage, bacon, cereal, pastries, potatoes, and more) the views from the tables are beautiful (night and day). Overall great food, good views, good service. I would definitely go back and recommend to all who board. read more

Wait long enough for your order, and you might become one of the ship's ghosts! Every dining experience in this restaurant has lasted 90 minutes to over 3 hours. Wait staff are inattentive, forget the basics of their job ("What would you like to drink with your order?"), and provide a very limited menu that differs completely to what is posted at the door. Portions over the last year continue to shrink while the prices keep going up. The dozen visits in the last year have all been dreadful, and shows no signs of improvement. The last visit included freezing cold fries, and very dry toast on the club sandwich. Did you want a drink? Better sneak a bottle of water in a backpack. Why did I keep coming back? Short on time to go across the harbor, and desperately trying to be polite (which wasn't reciprocated). Don't call to complain, or email, because you won't get a response. The Queen Mary's in-service reputation was one of class and elegance to all people traveling on board. Here, you feel like a stow-away waiting for a bowl of cold, rancid porridge in the ship's brig. Maybe banging a steel cup along the bars of your cell will get you faster service in the Promenade Cafe... If you are visiting the ship to take any of the tours, take the bus to the Pike for your lunch or dinner. Even with the time on the bus, you'll still get served faster than you would in the Promenade Cafe. read more

I do not recemend this resteraunt. They Kept us waiting 25 minutes to be seated, served us the wrong food and it had hair in it, and they served us moldy food. It is over priced for what you get. Here is the story of my interaction here. We were there on Saturday 28, 2012, We arived at the resteraunt at 10:30am, and we were looking for breakfast. There was a sign that said please wait to be seated. So we waited to be seated for 10 minutes before the hostess walked up to the podium and asked us how many. we told her 5 and she said alright. I asked, "Do we need reservations?" She said, "No, you dont need reservations. Let me check on a table for you." And walked away. The resteraunt was not busy by any meaning of the word. There were probably 30 tables with only 5 of them filled. 15 minutes later she returned and said, "this way please." So we were seated, and a bus boy came and took our breakfast order, and gave us menus. There was no breakfast on the menu, so my sister asked, "Do you have a breakfast menu?" the bus boy said, "No we stopped serving breakfast at 11:00am and it is 10 after." My sister said," No, we were waiting to be seated for 25 minutes to be seated. Can I speak with your manager?" The manager came over an apoligized say," I am sorry but we stopped serving breakfast at 11:00am and it is 20 after now. the kitchen has changed to lunch." So we orderd from the lunch menu. my sister order fruit with her meal and my brother ordered no tomatoes on his club because he is alergic. my sister got her food and the fruit was moldy and my brother got his club but there was tomatoes. so we sent the club and fruit back and they brought us them new food. when my brother got his food there was a big black hair on one of his sandwiches. we called the waiter over and he tried to replace the sandwich again but my brother said dont bother he had lost his appetite. the waiter tood it off our bill. we got the bill and for five sandwiches the bill was over 100$ and they werent that good. we paid the bill. no tip. we wont go back even though we stay there every year. read more

Had dinner here today- horrible experience. Service was EXTREMELY slow. It took 20 minutes for someone to come after we were seated to bring us water- 20 minutes!! My drink needed a refill- it took a waiter 25 minutes to notice it and to refill my drink- believe me, I times it!! THAT'S AWEFUL!!! Don't get me wrong- I understand if the place is packed and super busy- but it wasn't!! There were several empty tables and the service was unacceptable!!!! Got meals here included with a romance package a while ago, but what I can remember most was the wonderful service & view. I remember my omelets was great, extra mushrooms, the sausage were great, & we thought we just got the entrees w our package but our server told us we could also get anything from the buffet if we liked, BONUS! I'm more about QUALITY than quantity & I don't know what people are complaining about to be honest, we had a wonderful window seat with a great view, my partner had the Huevos Rancheros & he said it was wonderful & he's from Mexico so he knows. We had a tall, thin young male waiter & he was wonderful checked on us a few times, as well the bus gentleman also asked us how everything was & if we needed anything. What great service! We went pretty early since we had slept on the Queen overnight, so it wasn't crowded. One of the best breakfasts I've had, good food (not the best in the whole world, but good, much better than Dennys, cocos, better than Mission Inn food-wise & etc) prices are reasonable if you add the meal deal with your room package & the service was ABOVE & BEYOND! When you eat at tourist attraction restaurants, you shouldn't have expectations of having one of the best meals you've ever eaten. First off, you're probably pissed that getting into the attraction was a rip-off and then when you see the menu prices you get a sinking feeling in your wallet. So, you've probably got a chip on your shoulder when they bring you and your party their food. With lowered expectations, my wife and I had an early lunch yesterday. My wife had the chicken pot pie, I had the meat loaf. The pot pie was tastey, the sauce very rich with abundant breast meat. The pie crust looked like it would be flakey, but it was a bit 'tough' like it got microwaved. My meat loaf was tastey, with a nice wine glaze. The meat loaf was bacon-wrapped, which I thought was a nice touch. The broccoli was fresh, and mashed potatoes--well they were mashed and buttery. $50 for a lunch for 2 at a place like this is what I'd expect. Also, our server, I think his name was Dando, was friendly, attentive and kept the coffee and iced tea coming. I gave him close to a 20% tip. The view was wonderful. read more
