We came to The Rooftop in Beverly Hills with a party of six, and my goodness we ordered so much food. Overall, I'd give this place four stars. The ambiance is beautiful, and the service FANTASTIC. Our server was an absolute gem, I am so sad I forgot it. The Roofop is the kind of spot that feels lively but still relaxed enough to enjoy a long dinner with friends. The food was good, though I've definitely had better for the price. Nothing was bad at all, just not quite as memorable as I expected. The drinks, however, were fantastic. I'm not much of a drinker, but I ordered a martini and it was absolutely delicious and perfectly made. Also, the coffee I happened to order a latte and no joke one of the top coffees I had. Lots of nice photo spots. I would love to come during the day and try their brunch. Between the vibe, the attentive service, and the great cocktails, we had a really fun night. I'd come back again, especially for drinks and the atmosphere.
HAD AN AMAZING TIME , at this beautiful place. Came for the views and aesthetics but left knowing I'm also coming back for the good service and delicious food. The view did not disappoint, but the food and service sure did. I organized a group (6) dinner on a Saturday night based on a decent lunch experience a few years ago. My guests were disappointed and I felt embarrassed. We were seated shortly after our reservation time. But once seated, no one came to greet us or asked if we needed anything ! We waited a long time (20 minutes at least) before a waitress showed up. She looked very stressed (I saw her rushing back and forth all night so I don't blame her at all) ; she quickly answered our questions and took our order. We first ordered a few cocktails, plus the bread and a guacamole for appetizers. Only four half pieces came with the bread and there were six of us - if I were the waiter I would have asked... or just add a couple more pieces. But the disappointment wasn't just the quantity- the bread was dry and hard! And the fact that it took so long - like 20 minute, to arrive. The guacamole was great - I'd recommend it for a large group. I recommended their lobster burger to my friends and two of them ordered it. Another two got the salmon. It was another 30 minutes before the food came. But both those two dishes seemed good - my guests confirmed. A vegan friend had a hard time finding something she could eat - there was the Greek salad (which was just okay) and the steak salad with tofu instead of beef. She did not eat much. My Double Burger was a disaster - the buns were so soggy that they fell apart on me. I had to drop the burger on the plate and eat it with fork. I have not been to a high end (about $100 per person here) restaurant with such poor service! Out of curiosity I looked around and no workers were smiling... the two assistants who poured water and collected dishes didn't seem happy; our waitress seemed stressed; and when we asked for a box, they didn't offer to box the food for us - they just handed us a box and left. Based on our experience this time, I think perhaps this restaurant should be in Restaurant : Impossible, or some other restaurant rescue show. All that said, this is, after all, the Waldorf. The passage from the entrance to the restaurant is beautiful! Just make sure you find the right elevator, which is to the right of the entrance. And the walkway leading to the restaurant has spectacular reviews of Beverly Hills, hence a great photo spot. Parking is valet only and at this writing is $22 if you tell them you went to the restaurant. Overall, a mixed experience with some pleasant views that disappointing service and food quality.
I've been twice, once with work and once for a birthday. Neither times was I impressed with the food. The view is really nice though, which I think is the main selling point of the restaurant. Some of the dishes I've tried: Shrimp pad Thai: do not get. It is basically a pasta (not your typical rice noodles) served with a "pad Thai" sauce, which also was a miss. Grilled octopus: get. One of the few dishes that I made sure to order on both my visits. Octopus is hard to cook right. They did an OK job, and im a big fan of octopus. Beef burger: not bad. Only get it if you are craving a burger. Lobster burger: it's just okay.. too pricey for what it actually tastes like. Hamachi: hard to miss Sashimi: hard to miss. Fish was fresh Tuna poke bowl: not much flavor. Too much rice. Shrimp lettuce wrap: I wish it wasn't breaded shrimp and just cooked instead. Dessert: maybe the best part of the menu. Get the Dubai chocolate and key lime pie. Valet parking available and they validate (not fully, you'll pay $15-$20). They are really strict about their time limit. The same man came to tell us our time was up on both my visits. I would have understood if I saw a line of people waiting but the place wasn't even completely full.
Located on top of the Waldorf Astoria, the views are absolutely beautiful and it's must go to location even for locals. The food on the other hand was a major disappointment for me and my guests. Everything seemed to lack flavor and just didn't taste good to us. Here's what we ordered... Kumamoto oysters: This was the best thing I ate Guacamole: Came with a few taro chips and vegetables (Guac was okay, but it just didn't go well with taro chips and veggies) Grilled Octopus: rubbery, not fresh Chicken schnitzel: No flavor whatsoever Lobster burger: Bland Red Thai Coconut curry: my guest said it was fine Service was great. Our waiter was attentive. I would come here again with overseas guests because the views are stunning. I will just order drinks and go somewhere else for dinner.
Incredible experience all around. I had the lobster burger--no filler, all flavor, thick and juicy on a perfect brioche bun. The truffle fries were a dream. My daughter and mom loved their chicken shawarma in pita pockets, stuffed to the brim and shared happily. Service was warm and attentive. The view was stunning and definitely a great photo op--grab a spot by the edge for the best skyline vibes. 9/10 recommend.
We came here for a birthday dinner for our friend. The view was breathtaking, ambience was cozy and elevated. Staff was warm and caring, however we didn't get a birthday candle with our dessert (to be fair we didn't ask for it but most places offer it when they know there's a birthday, a little entitled of us but still heartbreaking). Overall great experience would come back here for a date night to get the black pepper beef stir fry or to have a dessert with tea. Either way I would dress up for nice pictures and bring a jacket (the staff provides a blanket if you don't have a jacket, but can be windy). So refreshing to go to a restaurant in LA that is not just views but also quality! This place is now a classic to me!
Came here yesterday to celebrate my birthday. It was very busy for a Thursday. We arrived early to our reservation but were told they were backed up and we'd have to wait. Understandable but disappointing they couldn't accommodate. My boyfriend and I both ordered smash burgers. Our waiter told us it included lettuce and tomato, and when the burgers came, they were nowhere to be found. When we brought up the issue, the waiter was VERY defensive and denied ever saying it. Very weird considering lettuce and tomato are very low on the list of things that would make anyone upset. Anyway, we had some back and forth - which isn't what I expect at this kind of restaurant. I've been here dozens of times and the service is hit or miss but this interaction was very, very strange. Great views, good food, but service was just ok.
I love Waldorf rooftop, its my favorite Sunday brunch place. One of the best view in the entire los angeles, Their dishes are so yummy and flavorful, The service is pretty good however they can be slow at time.
Boujee rooftop bar with a beautiful view of LA! I visited this bar on a Saturday night, so it was nice seeing all of LA's lights from the top floor. The rooftop bar was spacious with bar and table seating. It was clean and there were heaters which provided great warmth since the bar area was located outdoors. The bathrooms were also nice. I ordered the lychee raspberry cocktail and it was pretty good! It was fruity and not too strong or weak with alcohol. I wish the fruit skewer on top was fresher though. Our server was pretty friendly, but it did feel rushed since they were trying to close the bar soon when we arrived. Overall, a good experience here and I would like to come back during the day and to try their foods.

There's no way the Rooftop would be less than five stars and five star service! My boyfriend and I went twice in 2024 and both experiences were like night and day because, we went once during a summer's day and once during a winter's night. Reservations are easily available through Opentable and parking is exclusively valet. Take the elevator to the top and go nuts looking at that view! Walk by that pool and Cabana...and get seated with a lovely view. For our daytime meal, he got a keto style salmon salad and I enjoyed my exquisite Benedict. Coffee and drinks were amazing, as was the service. For our nighttime double date, we noshed on some Guacamole with plantains before our meals. He had the Chicken Katsu as I got the Chicken Shwarma - served in pita breads presented like tacos! They were a bit dry, but I still enjoyed them. Last were sorbets which are amazing and don't disappoint! Try to make room for these before you go. And I know, I'll be back again!
This is actually my favorite place in Los Angeles as being somewhat of a native and being a sucker for a view and good food the two don't generally go together. It is the place that I can't wait to take out of town or family and friends. I do admire its view and the way that you can see so many different sides of Los Angeles. It makes me feel like I'm in heaven in heaven with the view and the food. I generally get the lobster burger, which is so juicy and flavorful and something different than I've ever had as I am a big fan of seafood my daughter elected for the mini burgers, which were so cute they were on this kids plate. LA is known for its weather and it's nice to be able to take in the ambience with excellent weather. There is a feeling that I felt back in the paparazzi days of Los Angeles and I get that feeling on that rooftop. Their hotel itself a huge masterpiece. I'd love to give this place 4 or 5 stars, but I'm docking two stars solely for the prices. In short, the food is good, the drinks are good, the view can't be beat, but the prices are ASTRONOMICAL. I live in San Francisco and am used to steep prices, but even still I was blown away by how overpriced everything was here. The cocktails are $26. Each. For that price, they should be nothing short of phenomenal. I got the strawberry mezcal punch, which was pretty good but overall definitely could have been more flavorful. I can't stress enough how shocked I was by these prices. Not even the Top of the Rock restaurant in NYC could compete with these drink prices. Typically a "pricey" cocktail in a major city will run you between $12-18, so paying DOUBLE that is nothing short of robbery. The food was good, quite good actually, but again, I cannot justify the prices. $30 for a Caesar salad? Really? $27 for chips and guacamole? I truly see no reason for these unreal markups, which have got to be around 500% or more. As far as the atmosphere goes, we sat the bar because we were told there weren't any tables available, even though there were at least 4 that remained vacant throughout our meal. The two guys working at the bar were nice, but I overheard some less than professional conversation (I heard one of them say something to the effect of "so, is that a 7?" Pretty sure they were rating women from 1-10). Besides that, the view is absolutely phenomenal. Valet is $20. Super pricey. In short: you're paying for the view, and oh boy are you going to pay. read more

Made reservations for the 24th for 8 people for my husband's birthday dinner. I requested the large round table few days before. On the day of, I had to modify the number of guests several times, including when we got there. Without any problems, they made all the modifications needed. Although we ended up with more people than expected, not only did they make all the accommodations, they were incredibly pleasant and respectful. We ordered bunch of appetizers and dishes which everyone absolutely loved! Turned out that we had 3 birthdays within the week in our group. They brought over yummy desserts with candles for all three. That delicious chocolate mousse was incredible! Thank you to the staff and management of Rooftop. Brunch at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills?! Yes please!!! When you walk into the hotel it is stunning. You are escorted to an elevator and taken all the way to the top! When you get to the top you are met with a breathtaking view of LA. The view itself is worth the visit. We came here for brunch and tried a few dishes on the menu and my favorite was the wagyu beef! The red sauce that they pair with it is spicy and reminded me of a Nigerian inspired dish. We also had the smoked salmon and the chicken. Everything was very clean and I thought everyone was dressed for the occasion! I will definitely be back. read more

The view was one of a kind, and the food was surprisingly good. It is a great place to people watch - we got our fix of (small) celebrity sightings. Whether you are a local or a visitor, dining at the Rooftop by JG Restaurant at the Waldorf Astoria is a not-to-be missed outstanding culinary experience. With sweeping 360-degree views of Downtown, Beverly Hills, Century City, West LA, Bel Air and Holmby Hills and more, it is simply a fantastic place to dine. I grew up in Westwood and drove down Wilshire Boulevard thousands of times and to see it from above is so special, too. The views from this restaurant show the intricate tapestry of Los Angeles architecture from small to mega-sized homes as well as sleek high-rise buildings and hotels. Love it! The weather was balmy today after a rainstorm and the cloud-filled sky was gorgeous. Meanwhile, we thought that the food is creative, flavorful and absolutely delicious. This was my third visit to this restaurant and today we split a great hamburger with tasty and crispy fries along with a pear and frisée salad that was the perfect compliment to the burger. My husband had the salmon dish which he thoroughly enjoyed. We finished up with a plate of three different cookies which we also split. On our last visit, we had the Cobb Salad that was great, too. The service was attentive and excellent! We definitely appreciated their friendly and professional demeanor. The tables are well-spaced so you can truly enjoy interacting with your friends or family. We prefer al fresco dining these days and this was perfect! This is definitely my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. Highly recommended! read more

This place has phenomenal views and the Hotel is stunning. I was so excited to check it out for drinks after we had dinner at a restaurant in Hollywood. I ordered a Rose aperol spritz and my husband got an old fashioned. At $26 a drink my expectation is that my drink will be excellent... my reality was a mediocre cocktail. My husband didn't even finish his old fashioned... that has never happened before. The disappointment on our servers face when we said we were only doing drinks was unmistakable. We didn't see him again until we tried to get the bill. I have never felt so unwelcome ... I would have ordered more drinks but the mood was destroyed. Will never come back here... read more
THE MOST IMPRESSIVE ROOFTOP I'VE EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE!! This review is mainly for the view & service. I did not try any of the food, but my friend had the Tuna Tartare by recommendation from the server & she said she really enjoyed it. I will start off again, by reiterating that this is the most spectacular rooftop view I've ever seen & I have been to a handful of rooftops ranging from LA, NYC, to Brussels. As soon as I walked out of the elevator & turned left, my jaw dropped in awe.. It's the most stunning view of Los Angeles from Beverly Hills to the Hollywood Sign & beyond. Plenty of opportunities for some wonderful IG worthy pictures! I was there on a Saturday afternoon & it was already starting to get quite busy. Luckily, I made a reservation a few weeks in advance for a table for 3 by the bar. It was a hot summer day with the sun shining directly on top of us, but our table was under the umbrellas & we were quite impressed with how cool it was even with a occasional breeze that came through. It was honestly the perfect Saturday afternoon spent. The service was good, I was completely blown away but it was understandably busy. The drinks were on the pricey side, but considering the location & that it is on top of the Waldorf Astoria, it makes senses why. They also have a Brunch menu & All Day menu with a full menu to choose from. There is only valet parking at this hotel, but was quite surprised that it is only $15 if you are visiting the rooftop bar. Getting to the hotel can be a little tricky, it is right behind the Beverly Hills Hilton, but not directly connected & it is hard to see, just look for the gold "WA" logo. I can't believe it's taken to so long to hear about this rooftop bar, but I am definitely looking forward to coming back again. read more

Reservation requires a credit card as $50 will be charged for a no show since seats are limited due to social distancing. Stayed at the Waldorf Astoria last night and came here for breakfast this morning. The menu had great options. I ordered fresh squeezed orange juice and avocado toast. It took a little while to get our drinks and we didn't have silverware when our food was brought out, but our serve remedied that quickly. My husband ordered eggs Benedict and the fried potatoes that came with it were sooo good. Wish we lived closer so I could come here more often. It's a great location with views of Beverly Hills all around. read more

Came here for breakfast 3x during my stay at the Waldorf Astoria. Ordered their La Colombe latte and cappucino with almond milk, and loved how smooth they both were. Also tried their eggs benedict with salmon, avo toast with salmon, and scrambled eggs with caviar. I loved how toasted the muffin was in the benny. The potatoes were perfectly crisped. The avo toast was a huge portion, and it was so creamy and delish. The scramble with caviar was also divine. Service is excellent - super attentive. The waiter even asked how we enjoyed our food (named the exact dish) from the prior day. Ambiance is absolutely stunning. Tried one of their cocktails, the rose aperol spritz, which was fantastic as well. read more

"Simply OUTSTANDING FOOD - Service - view"!!! So delicious and great view - top notch service. We did prix fixe dinner - and it was OUCH expensive - but delicious - and they double charged us on my credit card. Oy, I'm sure they'll fix it. BUT - everything about the mess was great. We would love to give them more stars but unfortunately they fell short for us. We were celebrating our one year wedding anniversary and my wife always wanted to come here. We finally made it. The view is outstanding, the food is to die for BUT it took us almost 45 minutes to receive our appetizers. I had to walk over and ask our server and she stated they lost our ticket. If it were not for a kind person named Aram Dhillon who was sitting next to us. A complete stranger who over heard my frustration and my disappointment and for whatever reason he called upon a manager to make it happen. I don't know what else we could have done. Aram, you are a complete gentleman, a person with morals and true human being. As far as the restaurant. Maybe work on your service as checking on your guest more frequently? In all honesty, we have eaten at many restaurants and mind you, this is BH. We should NOT be having another guest reach out to have proper service. I met up with a small group of friends for dinner here. We had reservation for a table of 6. The restaurant is limiting parties to no more than 6 people at a table, which was a bit of a bummer because we wanted a bigger party. However, with the social distancing enforced, it was understandable. My friends are from out of state, where they don't have many restaurants with a beautiful rooftop view. They definitely enjoyed the ambience. This is more of a great place for lounging with friends and enjoying some cocktails. The food here is just decent. I enjoyed the salmon with mushroom, the octopus, and the burrata with bread. The food was good, but not spectacular, especially for the price. The service was excellent though! I was surprised how quickly the food was brought out to the table. I would probably only come back for the amazing view and to lounge with friends. read more

Beautiful Rooftop restaurant located Beverly Hills at the Waldorf Astoria. No reservation? No problem they still have great outdoor seating with an amazing view. Customer service is average, the food is average and overpriced you're really paying for the ambience, I tried one of the appetizers like the fries & caviar just for the experience they were good, the cocktails overpriced $26 for a cocktail and it wasn't even memorable this is definitely a place to go if friends or family are in town I'd possibly come back just for drinks though. read more
I came here for a drink and fell in love. I could come every day. For a year. And sit at the bar. And be so happy. And I am not a tourist. But anyways, even if the price tag is prohibitive for a meal, at least make it for a drink. ($20-25) which granted is a little more than your typical LA drink, but its worth it for the spectacular view, service, delicious drink. We came here (The Rooftop by JG) for Sunday Bunch and was very impressed!!!! The view, food and service was top notch! I had the CRISPY FRENCH FRIES & CAVIAR, and LOBSTER BURGER. Both was very tasty and filling. For drinks we had the WATERMELON MOJITO and STRAWBERRY MEZCAL PUNCH which put us on our backs...lol!!! The view was to die for...definitely recommended for having good time with food, drinks, and friends! My go to spot when I come back to LA. read more

You can! There's bar seating but it may take some time to grab a spot depending upon how busy. It's not impossible but I recommend a reservation

Yes. I have seen many nice tight dresses, and men with jeans and hats. Enjoy the views and the great drinks.

I haven't been there for dinner but there is no minimum $/person for brunch.

We brought our dogs, although we were guests of the hotel--not sure if policy differs for non-guests.

Yes, they are open on Sundays for outdoor dining.
How are they operating during COVID?
Based on my visit, they had great safety protocols. Social distance was enforced, masks were required to enter, staff were wearing masks and face shields, tables were sanitized, and of course it being outdoor helps.

I would not recommend this location in the evening for a 90 year old , it can get windy and cold
Is a reservation needed for a table of 2 on a Tuesday night?
Reservations technically aren't needed any day as they do take walk-in people, but it is better to be safe than sorry. The crowds aren't very predictable on any day and I definitely always make reservations
Can I order food other then appetizers at the bar/lounge area?
Yes.. we ate dinner at the lounge area since they didn't have a table!
