Honestly this was a second option after another restaurant had an hour and a half wait... We were able to book on Open Table quickly while en route. This was very convenient because hunger was calling! Unfortunately we were unaware of the dress code policy and had to run and buy some different shoes due to this. The restaurant accommodates you by offering a free drink or appetizer. I ordered the Strawberry Lemon Drop (off menu) which was delicious! So delicious in fact, that my honey sent his French 75 back to order this tantalizing beverage. We had charbroiled oysters with lump crab that were also very flavorful. I ordered the Cajun Omelette with lump crab and my honey ordered the Boudin Stuffed Chicken. We left very happy and satisfied. Returning is definitely on the list of "things to do". read more

Went here recently for business lunch. I absolutely loved our server Karla. We started with the Cajun devil bags which were amazing, and my friends enjoy the Boudin balls. For my entrée I have well seasoned asparagus, as well as a dozen oysters. My oysters were split have charbroiled and have spinach Madeline. my friends had the special which was a rag with crab meat and blackened shrimp. They overcooked, and fatty. We ended up sending two of them back and we're told that they've been having problems with the ribeye lately and the manager did talk about for us. My friends enjoyed the blueberry cucumber martini because it was happy hour and they said that it was getting fashion. Will be back. This is my favorite place to get oysters in Houston now that acme house is closed. read more

Arrived on a Sunday evening was craving oysters all day so I could not wait to have some. Bar was full which was understandable since it's game day so I asked for a table. I was seated and patiently waited for a server 5 minutes passed and nothing. So I inquired and was told my server would be coming soon. Perfect! She was a wonderful server by the way Alexandria. Very friendly and she checked back on me and made sure I was well taken care of. I had oysters and the fondue which were both great. The loss of stars come from the silverware that was given to me that was wrapped with dried food on it. Not sure how that is an oversight but gross. How does someone roll dirty silverware? I asked for plastic utensils after seeing that. For the type of restaurant this is, that is definitely not acceptable. Beautiful restaurant, loved the interior design and booth furniture. It's definitely a different feel from the Sugar Land location. The drinks were amazing. We both had a bourbon mule with a Texas made bourbon suggested by Mike who runs the bar. He was very helpful and friendly when he came over to verify our bourbon choice. The 4 stars instead of 5 is only because of the gumbo not having crab as mentioned in menu description & green beans were a little over cooked. Off the charts amazing meal. This place deserves so much more than 5 stars. Everything from the gumbo to the grilled oysters and deviled eggs were the absolute best I've ever tried. I was skeptical when our waiter told us that their gumbo won some award for best gumbo in Houston but after one bite I am a believer. It was so flavorful, bright and rich without that heavy texture. All of the oyster selections were spectacular also. We couldn't even get to our entree because we devoured every bite of our apps. Plus the service is wonderful. They are taking all proper precautions and safety protocols during covid. Our waiter Mason gave excellent recommendations and was very attentive. We also had the pleasure of meeting the manager Cameron when we came back for dessert because I was raving about how good everything was. This was my First time at this restaurant, and they did NOT disappoint. The wait staff was courteous, professional and willing to assist with any menu questions. Our Waiter was so sweet, and such a gentleman. I apologized for having to take an important call while he was assisting us, and he understood, was very respectful of our time. The restaurant decor made you home sick for the French Market. Great place to dine alone, with someone or even a business lunch. For the large size of the restaurant it had a very cozy feel, simply put très magnifique. We did not feel rushed.. now to the menu, I have never eaten Salmon, don't clutch your pearls LOL... but the Salmon Lafitte was simple delicious, the crawfish lemon butter sauce was creamy, not watery and the Jambalaya rice was cooked to perfection. The Bayou Port Ribeye, was tender, the gouda was not too strong, the balance of the flavors were simply perfection. The BF and I perused the menu beforehand so we had a good idea on what we wanted to order but our server John made sure to tell us all about their current specials which almost made us change our minds. We started with a dozen of oysters (Tan's Mignonette, Spinach Madeline Chargrilled, and Signature Chargrilled) and two slurricanes. The oysters were amazingly flavorful and comparable to Drago's in New Orleans. For our entrees, we ordered the Bayou Pork Ribeye and Zydeco Chicken. Both were perfectly cooked, seasoned, and sauced just right. The portions are large and well worth the cost. We saved room for dessert because we were dying to try the Big Easy Duo and OMG.. this was one of the best bread pudding and ice cream desserts I've ever had! We topped it off with two old fashioneds which had the perfect amount of bourbon and sweet (my fave). Overall, we had an amazing dinner and amazing service from John. Just had a very disappointing experience at Roux Pour in Memorial City. Spent the entire time shooing away flies and gnats . When we brought it to the attention of our server, her only response was "do you want your food to go?" She had the manager to come over to speak to us. He tried to explain that the doors had been open and that's why there were flies. I explained that there were more gnats than flies. He said he would compensate us. We were credited $15.30 on a $140.00 bill. Needless to say, we won't be patronizing this establishment EVER again!! read more

It's what you would expect from a restaurant that is located within a mall setting. The service was good and the food was decent. The fried green tomatoes were really tasty. The chargrilled oysters were delicious. Be wary as they are very rich (ordered the one with cheese and garlic) 1-2 were enough for me. I ordered their special of the night which was a grilled mahi-mahi that sat upon a bed of rice with some veggies. I don't remember much about it. But overall decent place to grab a meal. read more

The service was mediocre to say the least, nothing beyond the realm of excellence but also not terrible, just a little bit slow at getting refills and new silverware. We had the dozen chargrilled oysters Rockefeller style and one other flavor, and that was honestly delicious. The appetizer we had chosen was the crab fingers , and that wasn't too bad either. The chicken and sausage gumbo was amazing though, so that was a great experience, and they definitely didn't shy away from adding lots of chicken and sausage. The main entrees were the stuffed shrimp, and the pasta Rosa. They were a bit disappointing flavor wise, the stuffed shrimp came with mashed potatoes and green beans, both of which came off as a bit bland, and the mashed potatoes tasted like they came out of a high school lunch. The pasta Rosa was also a bit on the bland side unfortunately. However, the one redeeming quality from this would be the desserts. We got the bread pudding with vanilla ice cream on top. It was amazing, lovely dessert to end the night with. One word of the wise for new patrons, be aware there's a 20% mandatory service charge for the servers, so if you tip, keep that in mind that they get 20% automatically added from your tab. read more

Came here for my birthday on a Thursday and was sad that they only served brunch on the weekends, was looking forward to that and mimosas. I settled for the lunch menu - got the crawfish etoufee, bread pudding, and a cosmo. The restaurant itself was gorgeous and upscale and offered indoor and outdoor seating. The waiter was super helpful and attentive. My friend and I were one of two parties dining at the moment (came right when they opened to avoid the potential lunch crowd) and it was really nice. The etoufee was good but nothing outstanding. My drink and dessert however were both phenomenal - the cosmo was strong, the way I like it and the bread pudding was like buttery soft and decadent. Tried @therouxpour for the first time this weekend and it was a really nice experience. Staff was attentive and they had a steady flow of guests. Happy Hour was from about 10-4 on Saturday so we decided on that. We ordered the Cajun Deviled Eggs and Shrimp Tacos... washed em down with a Mexican Martini and an Old fashioned. I loved the Louisiana vibrant color theme throughout the place, even the bathrooms were nice upscale decor. We had a very nice waiter, forgot his name by super nice and attentive. It was a girls night out so he made it worth as good customer service is key whenever I dine out. We ordered cocktails which were made well, also we ordered an appetizer and full meals which were both delicious (refer to my pics). I would definitely go back for happy hour since the have an amazing huge bar area with TVs to watch a game, etc. Also, they have nice outdoor seating overlooking a courtyard. All went well and we were happy about our meals and service. Pricing is typically higher these days so not a place to dine at often but nice special occasion or for happy hour and appetizers for regular dining. read more

The shrimp itself was blackened just right and full of shrimpy flavor. The garlic bread had a perfect blend between soft and crunchy. However, the star of the dish was for sure the sauce... I just couldn't get enough of it. I even started dipping my bread and potatoes in the sauce lol. The main dish I had was the French fried egg boudin dish. The jalapeño cornbread was amazing and full of flavor; a unique spin on traditional cornbread. The egg was cooked just right and added a unique touch to this dish. And lastly, if you can't tell by now I'm a sauce person, I can't forget about the crawfish etouffee that encompassed this fish. It reminded me of the pappadeux version with its taste and Runningness. The customer service was horrible from the time we walked into the establishment. The refused to seat us because of and older gentlemen in my party was dress in business causal with the exception of sandals due to medical restrictions. They then told me I could go and purchase him some close toe shoes and at that time they serve us. I asked was it possible to just eat on the patio because my out-of-town guest wanted to try their oysters and I was told No. However, host staff wasn't dressed with full coverage and then told us this was the company police each restaurant but upon calling I was informed they didn't allow slides with tank top shirts for men. Very disappointed but have to write this realistic review. We went on a non-busy day and the wait time was minimal. We were quickly greeted at the door and seated. Once seated, we were constantly bypassed for 20+ minutes. After eventually flagging down two different waiters AFTER the 20+ minute wait, we were told over and over "I'll be right over". We continued to patiently wait. 10 more minutes pass. We finally ordered our drinks and asked for a high chair. 15 minutes later, still no drinks and no high chair, so I walk to the get the high chair myself. Other tables seated after us with equal number of guests (2-4) had their orders taken before us. Drinks arrive and NOT as we ordered. Not surprising. We ordered our food and the food came out within 10-15 minutes which is much quicker than I had expected based on the experience so far. After an experience like this, nothing tastes good at this point. There is an automatic 15% gratuity for all parties (big or small) which is understandable. Parking lot is shared with the mall so there are several spots. A sad but real-life experience. read more
