Yes! Fantastic place to take the family for a unique experience. The food is great and they have so many options for breakfast! We enjoyed the outdoor seating and the service was good.

Was looking to try a new brunch spot and came across this one! We stopped by around 11AM and were greeted and seated immediately. The aesthetic seems to be a modern country diner. Had lots of cute illustrations on the walls too! They have such a large menu so it took us awhile to decide but we ended up getting 1 California Benedict w/ English Muffin and no tomatoes - still came with tomatoes though ($17.99) and 1 Strawberry Waffle w/o Walnuts ($16). We thought the waffle would be bigger or come with 2 for the price but it still tasted very good. The strawberries were quite sour though. The benedict was super delicious, I really enjoyed the flavor and texture compared to others I've tried before. I also really enjoyed the potatoes as well as they had a nice crunch to them. Our food did take quite a bit to come out, we waited for about 40 minutes but it was worth the wait. The only thing we were a bit sad about was that they were out of alcohol so we didn't have a chance to try the mimosas but we'll definitely be back again to try more of the menu! They also offer 4% off if you pay in cash, took about $5 off our total.

We decided to celebrate Mother's Day with brunch at the Waffle Experience on Elk Grove Blvd. It's my first time dining here. The menu had quite a variety of waffle dishes, breakfast, and lunch items. I chose the Joe scramble served with scrambled 3 eggs with hamburger, spinach, mushrooms, and grilled onions with a side of potatoes, and a small slice of toast. It was different from what I expected, and the ingredients didn't seem to blend well. The potatoes tasted old and was hard, and i couldn't seem to get more than one cube at a time to stay on the fork for a decent bite. The hamburger wasn't cooked with the eggs and veggies, but instead, was a broken up hamburger patty tossed with the other ingredients, and it just didn't taste fresh. The others had the waffle combo with eggs and bacon. They enjoyed the waffles. The server was very nice, and we sat outdoors which was a nice open space with plenty of tables. I'm willing to give it a try again, but will definitely try something different.

It's been a while since I've been here. And have forgotten how good their food is . Stopped in for breakfast, and I never knew they had outdoor seating towards the back. It wasn't too busy & was quickly seated. I opted to sit in the back. It was shady & was a beautiful morning, despite it being in the 90s, but in the shade, it's really nice. I ordered the OUR CHICKEN 'N' WAFFLE. It's Hand Breaded Chicken, topped with Apple Slaw, Arugula, Bacon Bits, Ricotta And Orange Mermelade Served on Herb Waffle chicken waffle with salad. Omg! Their pesto dressing is so good!!! I even dipped my chicken and waffles in the dressing. I wanted to ask for extra dressing cause it's just really good. You can see the basil in the dressing. I love sweet and salty so the chicken and the waffle was a perfect mix and I love that it had arugula and the apple slices were perfect. Staff were super friendly. Definitely give this place a try.

They have so many options. Service and food was great! I'd definitely come back to try the other waffle dishes.

If you're in for a soggy Waffle Experience, this is the place! I have been here few years ago and remembered it being great, however on my most recent visit, the quality is total opposite of what i remember.

Came early Sunday morning. Got seated. One server, a few tables. Not even that many to be considered busy or anything because server just standing around. Service was very slow. Food to get to the table was very slow. Server never checked up on us, had empty cups most of the time. Really basic inside. Food itself wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything amazing. I thought I was going to enjoy this place more but I wasn't impressed. Probably won't come back again.

What we had: Sausage and waffles California Benedict Chicken fried steak and eggs They were all yummy and a generous portion than I remember, nothing special in comparison to other brunch place. The gravy on the chicken fried steak had a nice texture (not too thick) and tasty This place has an indoor and outdoor space. We came in on a Saturday at 1130 and the crowd was already dying down and was seated right away. We were greeted and sat by a really sweet host with pink eye lashes. She had this spunk to her that was engaging. I would have just rated this place a 3 and the extra star is for her. Will definitely come again. Must support local!

Service was a little slow but food came out pretty quickly. Sac downtown brunch quality so no need to drive down there to have brunch with your friends when you can have that here! Not too much seating as we thought it would be more spacious but it's nice. Worth a try

I cannot believe I have not written a review for here!! The Waffle Experience is near our home. We have had many different menu options from here over the years. Depending on your taste buds, their waffle can be on the sweet dessert side or more on the regular meal scale. We've enjoyed their salads, BLT sandwiches, fruits, pork belly, chicken fried steak and eggs, and much more!! The service has always been awesome!! The owner comes around from time to time. Matter of fact, I ran into him at Costco while shopping, he was very cheerful and said hello!! Overall, it has always been a nice treat for us!!

Everybody loved their food! Mine was the angus burger, I ordered it medium rare but it came out a little more rare than I wanted to. But I was still able to finish it. Seasoned potatoes were really good, well seasoned, some have crispy skin, which I loved. My company enjoyed their orders as well. I saw how well the eggs were cooked on their benedicts! The yolk was oozing. Service was great! Staff were attentive and quick. Some of their prices were okay but I find the straberry waffle a little pricey. Looks like half waffle with strawberry for $15!! But I would still come back. They have other menus that are worth coming back for.

Do they offer bottomless mimosa specials?

Mimosa carafe and you get full bottle of champagne which serves 4-5 people. I think it's $32

Are they offering outdoor seating with new guidelines for the county?

Yes, they have outdoor seating. It is available anytime the weather is good. Keep in mind, it gets VERY hot out there, so either get there early or avoid it on hot days.

Are you able to make reservations?

Yes just not on weekends. Yelp waitlist works great!

The staff is super attentive and ready to fill your cups or take away any finished dishes. Tonight I had the plum salad. Sounded a little on the wild side but it was amazing! So sweet and refreshing I ate every bit of it! Loved it! For my entree I picked the braised short ribs .. it was so tender! I was put off by the blue cheese mash beneath it a bit but it's ok because the short rib was so delicious. For dessert I had the berry crumb cobbler. The cobbler came with a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top. It was great! The berries were sweet and the crumb top was so buttery. Everything flowed deliciously. My husband had the filet mignon.. he said it was made medium rare just as he asked. And of course the crème brûlée is the reason why he keeps coming back lol My go to for fine dining in Elk Grove! I made a reservation inquiry for my birthday at exactly 5:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, for a party…read moreof two. I was told the earliest available reservation was 7:45 PM. I then asked if there was any chance of being seated sooner as a walk-in, and Aubrey told me they had room for two at a table in the bar area. I specifically asked whether it was an actual table where we could comfortably order food, because I did not want to be stuck at some tiny corner setup where only one plate could fit. I also made it clear that it was my birthday and that I wanted something a little more formal and comfortable. I was told it would be in the front by the bar, not shoved in a corner, though it could be a little crowded if people were in the waiting area. When we arrived, the first issue was parking. For a first-time guest, parking was unnecessarily difficult to figure out, especially during a rainstorm. Since the restaurant is set up like a small house, it was not obvious where to park, and there was no clear sign letting us know there was parking around the back. Once we walked in, I immediately saw the table that had been described to us. It was right near the bar against the wall, and it was much smaller and more awkward than I had been led to believe. My girlfriend was wearing a dress, and because it was such a high table, it made it uncomfortable for her to sit naturally and comfortably. As soon as we sat down, I looked at the table and asked if we were really going to be able to order multiple items and eat comfortably there. I was told they would "pace it" and "make it work." That should have been the warning sign right there. We started with two ice waters, and even that nearly filled the table. They brought a pitcher and poured the water into the glasses. I asked for a separate cup of ice, and because there was so little room on the table, I had to ask the waiter to take the glass back and pour it for me so I would not spill everything. That is how cramped this setup was. We ordered the chicken breast special and a half dozen oysters. First came the garlic bread, and now we had bread, butter, two waters, silverware everywhere, and barely any room left. Then the oysters arrived, and everything had to be shifted around just to make it fit. At that point, the table had bread, oysters, hot sauce, waters, and multiple pieces of silverware for each guest, and it felt like one wrong move would send a glass to the floor. After we finished the oysters and bread, they cleared the table and brought out our entrée. We ordered the shareable chicken breast after I specifically asked whether it would be enough food for both of us. The waiter said it should be. In reality, it was about four small pieces of chicken once cut, three asparagus spears, and two very small scoops of mashed potatoes. For the price, it was honestly disappointing. I cannot remember the last time I paid that much at a nicer restaurant and still left hungry. What made it worse was that they knew it was my birthday and did absolutely nothing to acknowledge it. No small dessert, no candle, no gesture, nothing. Ironically, the only people who made the night feel special were another couple who had apparently been dining there for years. They overheard us mention it was my birthday and kindly bought us two sparkling wines. That was thoughtful, but it also added even more clutter to an already ridiculously tiny table. The service overall was underwhelming. We were barely checked on, and the whole experience felt awkward. The hostess kept staring at us throughout the meal, and at one point, she rolled her eyes when she went to take the Tabasco sauce, and we told her we still needed it for the chicken. For the prices Boulevard Bistro charges, I expected much better service, better communication, and a much more comfortable dining experience. Instead, the whole night felt misleading, cramped, and disappointing. I will not be coming back.

We went out for girls night here and had a good time! I felt…read morethat they were pretty handicap accessible, had big portions, with a good wine and beer list. The noise was a bit loud and the decor seemed a little dated. Overall the pros outweigh these, the service was solid, and we had a fun! 1. Parking Parking lot with 2 handicap spots. Also easy walkway from the handicap spots into the restaurant. Easy to pull into from the street if coming from 99. I would suggest not trying to back out to the street when leaving however and instead we went through the parking lot, made a left at the ally and from there make a turn from the stop sign at Main Street. 2. Menu: Every thing we ordered was delicious. They had a large wine and beer menu. The blonde beer was ice cold and light for a summer drink. The house red was pretty mellow and very full bodied. The Sauvignon Blanc wasn't too sweet and had a hint of vanilla. The portion sizes of the meals were huge. None of could finish our plates! The bread is extra at 6 dollars, but worth it mainly due to the garlic/chive butter with it. We also ordered the fried zucchini as an appetizer - it was hot and crispy. The zucchini and breading were not soggy at all, and the breading stuck perfectly (these are common issues I've had at other places with fried zucchini) The ribeye was cooked perfectly and was incredibly tender. My friend pointed out that this was a very large piece a bit on the thinner side- they may have pounded it out to tenderize it is our guess. The farmer special was our favorite. It was a braised short rib and you could order it with pasta however we did it with the polenta. It was so very tender and savory. Came with a lot of polenta and it was very cheesy with Parmesan. The linguine and clams had both shelled and unshelled clams. I felt that there could have been more meat for the clam to pasta ratio. It was full of garlic and the cream sauce was zesty. 3. Atmosphere: It's a decent sized building, with a nice big bar in the front a smaller room to the left and a larger room in the back. There was plenty of seating for if you needed to wait. The walkways were wide and it was easy to move around, so no issues using a walker here and I would guess a wheelchair should be fine. The backroom had big booth seats, and would probably be good for large groups and families. The decor seemed a little dated and there was a jukebox in the smaller room, which although we were seated in the back was very loud and at the beginning of our experience it was hard to hear each other and was distracting. During this time the music kept switching songs every 10 to 30 seconds. I inquired why, and every Tuesday night they do "Music Bingo". So that could be a plus for some people, who want a more laid back atmosphere and enjoy a community game! The people in the front of the restaurant seemed to really enjoy it! However I would say if you are planning a quiet evening out or a first time date, you may want to come any other night but Tuesday. 4. Service: All our food and drinks come out in an appropriate time. Drinks were cold and food was hot! Our server made sure we had everything we needed and the manager even come by to check on us. I do love the brick building and how it's on old Elk Grove. We will be back!

This is a fair review…read more Mimi's is definitely a cozy spot with excellent staff, but quality can be hit or miss. I've been dining at Mimi's Cafe for many years, and while it still holds a lot of cozy charm, it's definitely a mixed bag now vs. 15-20 yrs ago. It was 5 stars back then. The Positives... *Friendly Staff: The service here is consistently warm, welcoming, and accommodating. *Cozy Ambience: The restaurant provides a great, comfortable atmosphere that is particularly relaxing and ideal for older adults. Tbh I have an old soul with some social anxiety. So Mimi's became an instant fav in my 20s for the ambience alone. *Great Brunch Selections: The menu offers a fantastic variety that is perfect for breakfast or brunch. It's truly all about the brunch at Mimi's! I don't think they could ever mess up a pancake, waffle, or French toast. *The muffins: Their muffins are unbeatable! So delicious and fresh. The Downsides... *Bland Flavors: Certain classic menu items have become a bit bland and lack the rich, robust taste they had 15 to 20 years ago. *High Price Point: For the quality you receive, the prices feels a bit too high. Plus they have done away with the free bread and carrot cake baskets. Although I believe they may still give you free bread, but you'll have to ask. *Timing Affects Quality: The timing of your order matters immensely. If you order a breakfast item during evening hours, parts of it might arrive tasting old, hard, and reheated. Recommendation:It remains a wonderful place for breakfast and brunch.

Trio: Chips were terribly stale, artichoke dip looked old, old, old and tasted old too. Quesadilla lacked flavor. The wings were just okay. French pot roast- Over sauces so you can't taste anything else. Half Chicken- was so old and zero flavor. I was surprised they were not embarrassed to serve us that meal. The soda was completely FLAT. We tipped the server his 20%, not his fault the food was horrid. We will never return. They might be great at just breakfast, I don't know. Scrambled eggs were good too. My husband got the chorizo burrito with tater tots on the side. He liked the burrito but said it did have little kick to it. The tots were fried to perfection and not oily. My brother ordered the "Dad's Mash Up," all kinds of stuff (breakfast meats and cheese) served on top of tots and covered in gravy. I let our server know it was my brother's birthday, and after we were finishing up our meals, they brought him a complimentary small plate of the strawberry French toast! It took a while for the water to arrive. * Later, we requested a water refill, which she acknowledged, but it appeared to be forgotten. The refill only came when we were getting ready to leave, at which point she apologized. Although it was a Sunday brunch service, the restaurant did not seem busy enough to fully explain the level of disorganization. Food: Breakfast is available all day. I recommend the Eggs Benedict (weekends only), which comes in several varieties: A. Bacon, spinach, and tomato Benedict B. Traditional ham Benedict C. Cali Benedict with avocado, tomatoes, and arugula D. Smoked Salmon Benedict The Club Sandwich also comes with a generous portion size. A nice convenience is that the restaurant allows split bills, and guests can pay individually through the Toast app.

It's a great deal and made it easy to justify trying one of their signature comfort-food plates. Here's what I got: 4pc Broaster Chicken The Broaster chicken dinner was the standout and easily my favorite part of the dinner. The four-piece meal is regularly priced at $19.99 and comes with a choice of side, plus garlic toast or cornbread, along with a salad. The chicken arrived golden, crispy, and exactly how broasted chicken should be--moist inside with a crunchy exterior that tasted fresh, not greasy. I chose the mashed potatoes as my side and they were creamy with chunks of potato whipped within. They were topped with country gravy, turning these spuds into full-on comfort food. The cornbread was a large, satisfying portion; the whipped butter and honey on top rounded it out nicely and made it feel like a classic diner treat. Vegetable and Salad The vegetable side was the one miss on the plate. The zucchini, broccoli, squash and carrots seemed to be steamed and were noticeably overcooked and sitting in water, which made them soggy. The side salad, on the other hand, was solid. I opted for blue cheese dressing, which tasted like it was made in-house and added a lot of flavor. There were a few pieces of lettuce with brown edges that I just removed, but overall the salad was fresh enough and a nice way to start the meal. Service was friendly from the moment we walked in. We were greeted right away, offered a choice of a booth or table, and seated quickly, even though it was senior night and the discount window can draw a crowd. The interior looks and feels like a classic diner: red accents, country-style decor on the walls, a TV with the news playing, and a front counter where you pay as you leave. Near the entrance there's a pie case showing off their desserts--in particular, an apple pie that looked very tempting and is on my list to try next time. Overall, Original Mike's Diner delivers satisfying diner food, warm service, and a straightforward, old-school atmosphere, with the Broaster chicken and sides carrying the experience. The overcooked veggies keep it from being a perfect visit, but the generous senior discount and friendly staff make this an easy 4-star spot I'm happy to return to--especially on Thursday nights. Simply Wonderful!!
