Came here on a weekend and was fairly crowded but not too long of a wait. You can save some time by adding yourself to the yelp waitlist but generally it's about a 10-30 min wait for weekends! Tried the Farmer in the Dell, Lean on Me, and All About the Berries. The waffles are served with the thicker liege waffles and the savory ones even come with flavored waffles (like herb, peppered, onion)! Portions are pretty large so you don't have to worry about getting hungry! The lean on me (I replaced with fried chicken) was delicious. The waffle had a subtle hint of herbs to it and and overall the sandwich got a little too messy to eat but worth it! Got the pesto potatoes as my side and just tasted like normal potatoes.. that were extra oily.. Farmer in the Dell was true comfort food. The country fried steak was smothered in gravy accompanied with eggs, kale, cheese, and a black pepper waffle. Was a good overall but the gravy was a little too much. My friends got Praise the Lard (pork belly) and Sacramento King (waffle sandwich with smoked salmon filet). Pork belly portion was just one piece, came with one egg on the waffle. Sandwich was a reasonable size for a hungry girl. Meals come with the option of pesto potatoes, fresh fruit, house salad, fries, or pork belly hash for +$2. We arrived 45 min before closing on a Saturday but LaTanya was upbeat and friendly. She offered to explain the menu since two of us hadn't dined here before. Curioisly delicious. I was in the area and craved pancakes. I looked on Yelp at a couple options and thought I'd check it out. The menu was a challenge for me and had I looked online first I would have gone elsewhere. However, I was curious enough I ordered to Chicken n Waffles. I actually don't eat fried foods outside of occasional sweet potato fries or lumpias Having fried chicken was a stretch. BUT, they were delicious. I really wanted something with syrup and the waffles were more savory than sweet, but they were good. I felt like I was eating on a Food Network show than a waffle house, but it's the Waffle Experience. This was definitely a different experience. When she brought the 2 waffles she didn't bring utensils so I kindly asked her for some . The following day we realized the waitress never brought our sides . Definitely had a craving for mimosas so we all ended up at this place to try it out. The different flavors for the mimosas was nice. Service helped out with any questions we had for food and drink, and came by pretty frequently for water refills. The place was quite busy though as it isn't really that big so just be wary traveling in during peak hours. We had gotten mango mimosas throughout and never really looked back after that. I had Jimmy's a Greek and we had split some of the extra add ons between pork belly hash and the pesto potatoes. The greek was pretty good although I feel like the heavier fare on the menu probably hits the spot a little better. I did like the sweet to light savory taste from it but it felt like a salad at the end. The additions were good. I really liked the pork belly hash, heavy as it was. Nice kick of flavor. The pesto potatoes I wanted the pesto flavor to shine through more, but ketchup worked just fine at the time. I'd say for brunch it was a good change although not high on my list for it. Can't believe I've never reviewed this spot before because I've been here many times. Located in an unassuming strip of businesses in central Elk Grove, is a gem that you must try. Each dish is packed with fresh ingredients and they use cage free eggs with their breakfasts and trust me, you can see and taste the difference. There's something for everyone here whether you're craving something sweet or savory, or if you're a carnivore or herbivore (like me). As you could probably gather by the name of this place, each item is served on a waffle and there are many different types to choose from. One thing I need to rave about is the reasonableness of their prices. The portions are large and you can eat for two here and even have a cocktail for well under 40 bucks. Elk Grove is a bit of a trek from where I live but it's well worth it when you talk about the freshness and overall quality of the food here. Service is great too and there is plenty of parking. Indoor dining has started back up but they have a darling covered patio if you prefer to eat outdoors. read more

The food was delicious. I got the Farmer In The Deli, which was a fun twist on the usual country fried steak. The olive oil and kale cut through the grease, it was lovely. I was really looking forward to trying this place since all locations throughout Sacramento have an average of a 4 star rating with a good amount of reviews. My experience today just wasn't up to par for a 4 star review but more of a "meh-okay" true, 3-star overall experience. Customer service was just okay; we weren't greeted right away and it was super confusing when we sat down for dine-in seating. There was nothing that really sparked an "oh my god this is so good" from the first bite of my food which consisted of: Farmyard Foghorn and Just a Waffle. The Just a Waffle was a real disappointment. This waffle was hard with not much of flavor - very bland, while I was expecting a soft chewy waffle fresh from the griddle. There could have been more of the the sweet syrup that was drizzled over this tough waffle. Nothing special. So then my Farmyard Foghorn arrived and again the waffle was really extra hard - like it was sitting out for a while was warm and chewy but got cold and hard? The chicken had too much of the honey glaze sauce which gave it less of a crunchy base to it. Because of the tough/hard waffle, it made the chicken less enjoyable. I think the only redeeming item on this plate was the pesto potatoes as the side, those were decently good. I will definitely try The Waffle Experience again in the future, but it won't be anytime soon. read more

I would give 3.5stars if I could, and here is why: The first time I tried them it was on my birthday on 8/5/20, outdoor seating, not busy, service and food were great. The second time I visited was a couple of months ago on a Sunday. We called ahead to make a reservation but they said they weren't taking any and only had a 15 minute wait. So, we headed over and upon arrival we're told the wait time would be close to an hour! We live close, at the most 10 minutes had gone by from the time we called. While waiting to put our name down; their phone rang and another employee passed by and told the hostess NOT TO ANSWER because they were busy anyway! We ended up ordering to go. The food would have been good fresh...but because of the steam and 10 min drive home, it made the waffles kind of stale. The third time, I tried to go before wine tasting. I again, called ahead in the hopes they'd changed their reservation protocol. Was told they don't take reservations but that the wait time was short. I explained exactly what happened the previous time and was told they'd personally seat me and my friend at the bar if that were the case. We ended up opting on a different choice for brunch. All in all (mostly based on my FIRST experience there) this restaurant is a decent brunch spot, just wish the customer service were better and that they would allow for reservations, especially with how impacted restaurants currently are anyway. read more

What an experience! Nothing but positive things to say about this place...if you haven't experienced The Waffles here then you're missing out. I'll start off with the decor and ambience here, very welcoming place with TVs in several places (more on this in a bit) - it's also very clean and presentable with both and indoor and outdoor setting. The TV thing is cool - they actually have live footage of the kitchen area where you can watch the chefs plate the food and you can take turns guessing if that plate being done is yours or not. For this first (and not the last) trip here I decided to go with the Chicken and Waffles. Wow. First off, I asked for all the sauces on the side and it came just how I asked. The food was delicious, the chicken wasn't dry at all and the waffles - with the marmalade they give - bomb.com. They were not too soft, soggy or too overcooked, the waffles were just right. Don't let my pictures fool you, the food was plentiful and I left feeling like I got my moneys worth - though maybe some items were overpriced I felt like the money I spent was justified. I actually ended up using the "Join the Waitlist" feature on yelp for the first time for this location and I have to say, it was awesome. I took me about 10/15 minutes to arrive and I only had to wait another 5 minutes. The feature also tells me how many parties are ahead of me, what time you have to check in with the host by, and how much longer it might be to be seated. Once you arrive, you check in with the host. A 3% charge to your bill will occur if you pay with your credit card. There is a Sacramento Credit Union (no fees if you use any credit union debit card) a few shops down to your left if you want to avoid the charge and pay cash. read more

Been hearing great things about this place in Natomas, but never got to try it. So glad they decided to open one in Elk Grove. I finally tried this place today and I was disappointed! I ordered the chicken and waffles and my friend order a strawberry salad with grilled chicken. The fried chicken was perfect! Tender and so juicy. The apple bacon additions made it sweet and savory. I couldn't be more happy to have both worlds in one bite. The balsamic vinegrette was delicious and paired well with the strawberries. We found a hidden waffle in the salad which made it even better. The service was great and the decor is very cute. This brunch place is pretty pricey though. Our two plates cost about $40. Other than that, I have no complaints! read more

Waffle much? This place incorporates a waffle into each dish. My eggs Benedict was placed atop a waffle instead of the standard English muffin. Now bear in mind, if you want a waffle that is light and fluffy and is not specifically gluten free, then These are Not the Waffles You Are Looking For. Why do you ask? Because they use a dough base as opposed to a batter base. Think of a pretzel type of consistency. The gluten free option provides you with a lighter consistency due to the lack of wheat flour. What did I order? I ordered my usual breakfast go to, Benedict Arnold with pork belly hash, and a Johnny Appleseed. Benedict Arnold was tasty and I could even taste a hint of lemon! Yum! Pork belly hash was pretty good as well, very savory and not so much pork belly and didn't seem overly greasy. Johnny Appleseed is definitely a dessert item, talk about sweet! Whipped cream was fluffy and creamy. I ordered the coffee, which is by Liberty Coffee Roasting company. It is not overtly bitter, if you are a coffee aficionado, you know what I mean. It was the perfect compliment to my Benedict Arnold. Service wise, these guys are Bomb Dot Com! Our server was on top of everything! She informed us of the status of our food every 5-10 minutes and refilled my bottomless cup of coffee. Since it is the Halloween season, the place is decorated as such and they even offered a candy treat at the end of our meal via pumpkin bucket! Plates were removed from our table quite promptly after asking if we were done with the dish. These guys are clean too. I watched as our server cleaned a spill almost as soon as it was made. I absolutely love coming to this place. The entrees are a great mix of flavors for sweet and savory-not something I'm usually into. During my first visit, I brought my niece and nephew. It was super busy on a Sunday around the typical brunch time. We were seated after a good 30 minutes or so. The staff were trying to accommodate since we had a bigger party. The place is nice and neat, has TVs set up so you can watch them prep your meals. We were already waiting for about 35min till the server mentioned our food was on its way.
