Living in EG for so long, I've never been to the Waffle Experience! However when my friend randomly called me to go get breakfast, I recommended us to come try. We came shortly after they opened (on Monday). We were greeted immediately and told we could sit anywhere. Both of us ordered the Our Chicken n' Waffles. I got the side of seasoned potatoes and my friend got the pork belly hash. He also got orange juice! Our food came out shortly. The chicken was tender, but it could have been more crispy. The waffle was pretty rock solid for the both of us. The flavors were there but the texture and consistency of the food was lacking. I personally like pulp in my orange juice, but my friend was not a fan as he said there was too much. I think for the portion you get it's not worth the price. I would think you'd get more than one little waffle. We were a little confused when the tab came because there was an extra charge for using a credit card...there was no sign saying cash only either or a certain amount was required. Overall, we were pretty disappointed in the food. The service was good though as our server did come back a couple of times to check up on us. My friend just didn't want to make a big deal of our food. I would come back again if someone wanted to eat here, but it wouldn't be my first pick. read more

Today is Sunday 5/4/25. Yelp says the place is open until 2pm. Showed up at 12ish. Came with my gf. Keep in mind we are both Chinese descent. Another couple showed up after us one black and white. There's a huge party of white people seated along another white couple in the back. The receptionist finally acknowledges us after 3 minutes saying they are closed?! Refused to serve us and the couple behind us. Gave no reason why they are closed. We felt profiled and discriminated because we weren't white. Very disappointed at the Waffle experience. The experience was very poor. I was told by the hostess to anticipate a 20 to 30 minute wait after waiting 20 to 30 minutes we were informed that they were waiting for a party of 20 despitethere were several available tables, but they would not seat any of the guests who were patiently waiting to be seated. Went on a weekend around 11am so of course it's busy and there is a long wait but staff did not acknowledge customers waiting. Hostess did find time to socialize and joke in the back with other staff members though. I will say the coffee was great but the food was not anything I will be returning for any time soon. Over easy eggs were over cooked and crusty, Potatoes are xx small cubes that are very hard and roll off your plate because they're more like marbles. Also the waffles are about 2 inches, very small. I was a little hesitant to try this place. There was so much rave around pork belly and I didn't want to have too much grease. I'm so glad I agreed to gives this place a try. My parents saw it and we decided to try it together for a first time. We arrived 8am Sunday. Not crowded at all. I again thought oh no. No crowd? Why? What's wrong ? Well because it was still pretty early Sunday. The service is fantastic. Love the service. They greet you right away. They are fast and friendly. The place is cute. It is average size with a huge outside patio in the back. The kitchen is more or less open and has a breakfast bar. Bathrooms are easy to find. The decor is cute. All the rave about the pork belly and pork belly hash. It's was worth it. We ordered a couple of specials and had the pork belly hash as the side. It was yum!!! Potatoes were crispy but not dried out. The pork belly was tender and juicy. We also had waffles which were good, pork chops with country gravy and coffee. 5/5 recommend this place! The food was amazing. I had the chicken and waffles and it was delicious! I got it with the sweet waffle instead of the savory one and I loved it. I had ordered it to split with my mom and the server went ahead and split the plate for us. It was so thoughtful. Everyone in our groups enjoyed the food. We went on a Sunday morning around 9:30am and it was empty but filled up very quick by 10am. There was a long wait so I'm glad we beat the crowd! read more

What happened to the quality meal!? I called to pick up ahead of time and when i asked for my usual lean on me, the hostess said they don't serve that there any longer and i need to check their website for the elk Grove menu. Her tone was curt but i let it go and hung up and proceeded to check online. Well, their website doesn't have an elk Grove location or menu and when you Google search for their website it says location doesn't exist. I called, ordered what i could remember from memory, Chicken and waffles and farmyard foghorn. When i got there i told her about the site and she checked it herself on her phone then quickly got frustrated saying this location was bought by new owners about 5mo ago and she keeps telling them to update the site. She let me take pics of the new menu. Food: when i got the food back home there were real differences. The chicken and waffles came with only one small waffle, and my foghorn had one waffle sliced in half! It was so hard and dense the waffle was cutting into the roof of my mouth so i ended up having to use utensils. Where are the 2 fluffy flavorful waffles i knew and loved!? The two strips of bacon on my Foghorn were undercooked and I ended up having to cook them longer myself. To be honest, I never cared for waffles but I was in the neighborhood and wanted some breakfast. I went with the first place I found and gave it a chance. We got there at the right time because we were seated right away and afterwards a line of people came. I wasn't sure what I wanted to order cause EVERYTHING comes with a waffle. And yes, I'm fully aware of the name but I figured there would be alternatives. So I went with "Praise the Lard" and it was the best decision. Man, it was so incredibly delicious! It came with pork belly, egg, arugula, roasted tomatoes, ricotta cheese all on top of an herb waffle with pepper agrave syrup. It also comes with a side so I chose the potatoes. The pork belly was so tender and juicy! With the edges slightly crispy and with the syrup, it was perfection. All the flavors on the plate blended so well together and the ingredients were fresh. Came across this place because it was the nearest mimosa place close to home. We pretty much went here because of that. We got two entrees--the pork belly and the s'mores Nutella one. The pork belly itself was good. A little on the harder side but good. The plate it came with though was a weird one. I think they put syrup at the bottom of it. Making it more is a sweet dish instead of a savory. We were hoping for savory. It had greens with syrup, not one the best flavor combos. Our other entree was good! The s'mores Nutella was a good pairing of one another. I preferred this dish instead of the pork belly one. We got their guava mimosa pitcher. Their mimosas had more juice than champagne that even between the two of us we didn't get that buzz we were looking for. We came in not having breakfast at all and trying to drink this. The wait was long but the food was definitely hearty and good. However I think they made a mistake on my order. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles but I think they gave my the Farmer in the Dell which was the Chicken Fried Steak. I was hungry so honestly didn't even think about it until I noticed my plate looked exactly like my friends and they had ordered the farmer in the dell. I was wondering why I had to use a knife to cut the chicken and it was more like a breaded steak and an actually chicken piece but it was still good. Although the ambiance could use some help as a typical strip mall, fast food, looking place, my granddaughter scarfed down the waffle. My son loved his food and so did I. It was pricey for just a waffle, but they enjoyed it and it was very efficient and fast and we were on a timeline so that was helpful. The Waffle Experience is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in the Sacramento area. I've been to the Natomas location since 2016, so I assumed the same level of quality would be present at this location. Unfortunately, it's not the same. My go to has always been either We Found The Beef or Eggcellent. The overall presentation of the food was great, but what ruined the entire burger was how plain and chewy the waffle was. The waffle did not taste fresh. Every time I took a bite everything fell apart and became less of a burger and more like a salad towards the end. I'm really surprised because every time I've had this at the Natomas location the waffles are always perfect in terms of consistency. The one positive thing to this meal compared to the other location is that I was served more fries since usually it's served in a tiny jar that barely meaning the fries are much smaller cut. For desert, I went with a Smor'Tella which the Natomas location has had different variations of this dish. Again, the waffle didn't taste fresh so it was difficult to cut and overall didn't taste exactly how I would have imagined. The bananas, marshmallows, and nutella tasted great, but without the waffle it just tasted average. If you're in the Sacramento area, just stick to the Natomas location if you want great waffle experience. Maybe one day I'll come back to this location to see if their waffles have improved. read more

I honestly don't understand the hype. The restaurant should really change its name because they don't know how to make waffles . I came here with my husband and son. We walked in and was not greeted , the lady that took our name did not smile or anything . Not great. At all. 1. The tables are awful. They need a good, thorough washing, not another wipe down. 2. The placement of the tables. Sitting along the window you are squeezed into a too-tight space where your chair is smashed up against the person behind you. Like heads touching unless you lean forward into your sticky table. Gross. 3. Speaking of gross - our server was kind but her blouse was covered in per hair that fell around her as she walked, and her apron was FILTHY. We were there before 9 am and there's no way that amount of filth on the apron was from today. 4. The ordering. I KNOW using a QR code ordering system helps establishments cut costs on wait staff, but I really hate it. Here's why: - I do not like being forced to select a tip amount before I have exchanged 10 words with my server. I don't carry cash to pay later. I shouldn't have to. - I do not like paying a "convenience fee" for ordering this way. - I do not like an additional "debit card" fee. So here's the thing. Went to TWE today for a graduation lunch! The staff was super friendly and a delight. Our server greeted us right away, brought out drinks and checked to see if we had any questions about the menu. Went here for Mother's Day. We ordered food and waited for 45 minutes, and they came back and stated that they were out of the food we ordered. We then waited an additional 15 minutes, and the order was incorrect, some waffles were still chewy, some food was cold, and some waffles were so hard. To top it off, they served my mother last on Mother's Day. We have come on other days when it's not packed, and they are fine, but I would not come back anymore. When we spoke to the server, they said that the cook was new and that they were a small business and were very busy. People were waiting so long they started to leave before receiving their food. You can help them out with their "busy" days by not coming here and making them less busy. Do not come here if you have a special occasion (or any occasion for that matter). The first time I tried it here, it was with my daughter on a Sunday morning. I ordered the chicken'n waffles at the time. I'm normally not a fan of breakfast food so it was a bit odd for me to eat it. Being on keto on and off days has made me self conscious with what I'm Eating if I decide to go back to carbs. I'm not a fan of white meat of the chicken because I do rely on fat for fat burning but if you like this sort of thing then it's I guess a great thing. My second visit was with my college friends. This time I ordered we found the beef. Basically a burger cooked medium rare and sandwiched with herb waffles. The beef was grass fed so that was plus and it had the right amount of fat needed. They cut the capacity in half for indoor to seating, I presume it's to comply with the social distancing. Our waiter was nice, we waited awhile for our food. Presentation 10/10 Taste 8/10 Waffles 3/10 Service 8/10 I really thought the Waffles were gonna be out of this world but my Waffles were hard, I like em fluffy. I don't think I had had a waffle in a long time. I looked up waffle near me. The Waffle Experience came up and it was within walking distance. I was pointed to a table and told the menu was on a scan code taped to the table. I asked the waitress, "Do you just have an old fashioned waffle, egg and bacon combo?" She replied, "Sure! We have The Old Fashioned Waffle Combo!" "Sounds great! A large OJ please." I replied. There were four tables with seven customers being served. Within minutes my food arrived. I cut into my waffle thinking it would light and springy; Lisa Douglas's hot cakes on Green Acres were lighter than these two little waffles. As the hot cakes, I mean the waffles cooled down, they became hard like a roofing shingles. I'm not kidding. Waffles are supposed to be light and airy not like doughy lumps. I ordered a second waffle thinking it was old batter but it was the same. I didn't say anything. The waitress was nice and the place clean. You can see the cooks preparing the food and they seem to care. I swear, if their restaurant fails, they can shingle houses with their waffles...
