The gentleman beertending was friendly and awesome for letting me try a couple of beers. I decided on Hwy 1 IPA, it was freshly tapped today (6/17/24) and it was really good. Not too hoppy with piney notes and not too bitter. I also enjoyed the "Nose Job" IPA. My partner got a Raspberry & Blueberry cider slushy and really enjoyed it. Celebrated my wife's 50th Birthday in Morro Bay this past December. Her family planned a 4 day weekend for family gathering of which included multiple microbrew and restaurant visits in the area. While I chaperoned the husbands of the group to the Grassy Bar Oyster Company for some awesome oyster consumption, we eventually made our way here to meet up with our wives. Several members of the family had stopped by Three Stacks on a previous day and wanted us all to try out this hotdoggery. I was to sample from our family members their selections, and I was really blown away by the taste and quality not each one I tried. I decided on the Pretzel Brat with a Cider. If I wasn't so fill from all the oysters, I could've easily eating two of these bad boys. The brat was plump, juicy and really tasty. I'm not an off the shelf, mass produced brats kinda guy, but these brats I would eat on a daily basis if I could. The pretzels bun was like eating a soft warm pretzel and when all of this is dipped in the accompanying beer cheese, sheer bliss!! The staff and other customers made this place even better than their food and brews. It was such mellow, friendly, and most importantly, welcoming vibe. If you are ever in the Morro Bay/SLO area, this place is with stopping by for a quick brat snack and thirst quenching brew or cider. read more

They did such a great job converting the old aquarium into this fun spot to grab a bite and a beer. While I always enjoyed their old spot in north Morro Bay, this is a bit more fun to be right by the water. Still making good beers, always happy to see their Black IPA on their menu. It's nice that they also offer the Brewdog NA beer as a non alcoholic option. Food menu is much better here too. The dogs are good and we always order the nachos when we come here. Sometimes it can be tricky to stay warm on their patio, but its a fun spot. read more

I had a wonderful visit! The staff is lovely--friendly but not pushy. The food is very reasonably priced; we're in California, after all--our food costs have risen like crazy from already high rates. My chili was yummy and came with an unexpected side of tortilla chips. I also tried a pub pretzel with cheese sauce--such a treat! I wasn't in the mood for beer, so I had a nice glass of wine. Hands down, one of Three Stacks and a Rock Brewery best beers Moonstone Stout is currently back on draft. If you're a fan of stouts and haven't had this beer before, drop everything and go get some before it's gone. This beer is truly incredible. This stout holds a special place for me because it literally got me through the toughest parts of COVID. I remember grabbing it from their old window location, and I was so incredibly grateful that they continued to make it available to customers during such a challenging time. It was a little beacon of deliciousness during a strange period, and honestly, it felt like a hug in a glass. Massive thanks to Three Stacks for cycling this beer back for another season of goodness. Me and my buddy were with the ladies, they decided to go shopping, so me and my buddy decided to try this place out. If you don't remember, this is the old sea lion establishment. Sitting at the bar, I remember as a kid coming here and feeding the seals, now I'm having a warm delicious pretzel with a flight of beers. The atmosphere was inviting, and it's opened, didn't feel closed in. The outdoor patio was nice and the weather was amazing. If you're in Morro Bay, go try this place. Came in today 7/2/2025 and it was generally empty with 2 customers at the beer counter. Had my wife and 22 month old with us. Wife went to use the restroom and I inquired with the beer tender (pictured) about moving a small table (2 seater) with another small table (2 seater) as my friend was accompanying us and arriving shortly (4 total persons). Beertender seemed to begrudgingly reply, "yea, that's fine, I guess!?" So I proceeded to move the table and set down my daughter on the bench for the seating area we were going to be occupying and moved the tables together. At this point the same beertender came over and told me "the benches are for sitting and not standing on!" (regarding my 22 month old). I replied diplomatically, "if I take her shoes off would that be okay?". The beertender replied, "well the seats are for sitting, not horsing around or play!!". I was floored and said nothing at all. However, when my wife exited the restroom I told her about the interaction and we opted to leave. It is of my opinion that this was a very poor interaction and it could have been handled very differently. I want to add I have been visiting this brewery since there early days at there secluded inland location in Morro Bay. I have always had great beer and food here, along with good interactions with the staff and brewers. read more

We stumbled in here to get out of the cold and found a very cozy delightful place for food and beer right before sunset. We shared a Bavarian Pretzel, a Hotdog, and locally brewed beer! The countertop at the bar is decorated with thousands of pennies. Erika, the server was very friendly and cheery! I walked outside to the public landing area to view the sunset! Wow. What an awesome find. Quirky brewery that used to be an aquarium in a former life. The CDA was surprisingly excellent and hit all the right notes of pine, dark malts, and "dry" molasses. Been here many times and make it a habit to visit every time we're near. We stay in Paso Robles multiple times a year and venture over to 3 stacks every time just to have some great beer, a pretzel and some amazing views! And when we do, we make a point to going to Three Stacks for a beer paired with a dog. And sometimes desert! Can't say enough great things about this place and the great people who work there. Beer selection is top notch. Food and ambiance is up there as well. Great views of the rock. One of our favorite places to be. If you haven't been there before, treat yourself. This is a nice brewery in Morro Bay. While I miss the Morro Bay Aquarium, they did a great job transforming the Aquarium to a Brewery. We enjoyed the beer and of course the location. The only negative I would say, is that the stools are very uncomfortable . It would probably be worth it to investing padded stool chairs. The more comfortable the chair, the longer we stay, the more we buy... Please consider more comfortable seating. read more

Dropped in on Sunday to relax and recharge! Had a Marine Layer Hazy IPA, with was just the ticket on a warm day in the middle of my 11 mile walk. Service was fast and friendly, and the place was spotless! I wish they had more seating on the deck (I am sure they do, as well), but inside was nice and cool! The location is definitely bigger then the old spot with lots of room and more of a stop amd enjoy yourself vibe to it. The inside is trendy with games to play amd couches to sit on and the outside deck gives you a view of the ocean and the beautiful breeze. As always the beer is very good with a large variety of house brews and some imports to enjoy. They offer a food menu now with lots of pub style favorite to choose from like artisan hot dogs and large salty pretzels. The staff are very welcoming and know their beers like the back of their hand, so let them guide you to the right beer for your palet. An easygoing brewery, a nice pit stop as you make your way around the shops around this area. Nice view from the patio of Morro Rock. The beer is tasty, and I always appreciate the option of flights before deciding if I want a full serving of anything. Their options are really wide and I enjoyed them all! They have easy snacks, which is exactly what we were looking for, just small bites so we didn't ruin our dinner later. Definitely recommend their dog friendly patio! You order at the bar, they're quick and they're friendly. We really enjoy this Brewery. Really good beer and the service is the best. Erica is great behind the bar. Knows a lot about all the beverages that are offered and is so friendly. We didn't have food this time, but when we were here last month we had the nachos and we felt they were the best nachos we had ever had.
