The first time I came here, I thought the service was really awkward and almost rude, so I was super turned off by the person at the register. However, since then, I've encountered better employees (though I wouldn't say they're necessarily friendly). I've been here a handful of times so I've finally come to the conclusion that Tiger Sugar has bland drinks :( I know the crowning compliment of an Asian dessert is "not too sweet" but if I'm getting 100% sweetness, I want my drink to be sweet! It tasted like I ordered 25% sweet. Their boba is also not sweet. It has a good chewy texture but it doesn't seem like they sweeten it while cooking, so it doesn't add much to the drink. I would say skip the boba and get any of their other toppings here. However, my pet peeve is they're ALWAYS out of some kind of topping. I like the strawberry cream mousse drink the most because of the mochi, but it really tastes like you're just drinking milk lol. The mango green tea needs way more sweetener, 100% sweetness almost tastes unsweetened. Overall, I think I've given Tiger Sugar enough chances and would recommend you check out another spot nearby for your boba fix! read more

I love this part of Ktown and was craving boba so I decided to try a new place. Since there was no line, Tiger Sugar was the way to go. Unfortunately, they had a sign on the door of 4 or 5 flavors that they did not have today. This limited the selection a lot. It was either something super sugary or not at all. I had wanted to try something new but I ended up with one of the few drinks in stock- a fan favorite of mine: mango green tea with boba. It was not great. It was pulpy with the mango, gritty with boba and not sweet enough. For $6 I would recommend trying somewhere else. read more

A new location in Little Tokyo makes a lot of sense. There's always a lot of foot traffic, especially since the end of the pandemic. Service is fast enough to keep up with the constant stream of customers, but don't count on service with a smile. The person who took our orders might have been a robot, judging from his mien. At least he was able to answer all of our question, albeit in a robotic tone. The drinks are alright. Unique in the brown sugar kind of way. I thought it was interesting to have sweetness gauged in "more sweet" or "less sweet" rather than the more typical percentage measurements. And yes, definitely shake it well before consuming, but you won't miss this instruction because everyone hammers this message into your brain. read more

This location is not super close to me but I'm glad there's one in LIttle Tokyo! I've only had Tiger Sugar once in Asia a few years ago and been craving it ever since. I wish they would open one closer to me in SGV (Pasadena/Arcadia area), but maybe that's a good thing for my waistline. The #1 signature black sugar bubble tea with cream mousse and red bean is amazing! I'll have to come back and try the matcha, or Milo or mango drink asap. I visited recently on a Sunday night and I was the only customer so my drink came out really quickly. I'm a fan of Tiger Sugar even before they got to Little Tokyo. I first tried it in Rowland Heights and fell in love. So glad to see that there is one in Little Tokyo now, which is much closer to where I live. Service was great but drinks were disappointing when compared to the Rowland Heights location (THE BEST IMO!). Black sugar milk series is way too sweet here. Kinda sad because at the other location I get everything regular (sweetness, ice, etc.) and it comes out fine. I'm usually too embarrassed to ask for things remade, but I had to make that request. The second time around I got low sweetness and it was still too much. My bf saw them put condensed milk or something in the drink so that's probably why. Kind of disappointed with Tiger Sugar. I came here on a Sunday afternoon, around 2 PM and they were already out of one of their top 5 drinks. I opted for the Lychee Boba Black Tea with regular ice and my friend ordered the Mango Green Tea with regular ice, 75% sugar. We didn't need to wait long, but when our drinks came, my friend's Mango Green Tea had no ice, and after shaking and taking a sip, tasted as if there was no sugar at all. I can't even imagine what their 0% sugar drinks taste like. My Lychee Boba Black Tea was sweet with ice, but it wasn't my favorite tea. The boba was more like white sago vs. boba, so I was kind of thrown off. If you're looking for a real tea place, Sunright Tea Studio is nearby and probably has something more legit. read more

Does Tiger Sugar allow doggos? You can take your doggos inside but there's not much seating. Tiger Sugar is a solid option for boba in the neighborhood. Their signature brown sugar boba is my go-to. They open quite late compared to other boba shops like Sunright, however. They also sometimes lack consistency when it comes to the texture of their tapioca balls. Drink is terrible compared to their other locations, did someone mess up? It basically tastes like milk. The boba texture is good but FLAVORLESS? That's so odd! Half the cup is full of ice... The flavored tea literally tastes like syrup even though we said 50%. The drink had thick syrup with every sip... Worst location... I'm honestly shocked that people even like this. It is a mango tea with toppings of sago, lychee jelly and mango bits. It is a refreshing drink but has so many toppings. Grand opening today - 6/18. First 100ish people got free drinks. Grand opening was very well run and we were in and out in around 30 minutes. We were 28th in line ( I counted LOL ) and ordered two drinks. I had the strawberry milk mochii and it was yummy. Think strawberry melona bar melted down with boba added. Tiger sugar isn't my favorite boba spot but it's def solid. read more

New boba shop in my hood! Been here twice this past month. Tried the Brown Sugar Boba Milk and Mango Green Tea. Both are very different, but tasty nevertheless. Mango Green Tea comes with jelly, unexpected but it was ok (I usually go for the traditional boba, but this drink came with jelly). I just might order the Brown Sugar Boba Milk again next time. Mini boba and some jelly slivers, there was the strawberry syrupy stuff but also the cream, all mixed together was just the best boba drink ever!!! Coming from someone who is a BIG sweet tooth, I thought it was still too sweet for my liking. We were blown away with how creative this place is. Sometimes they look like the combos aren't going to work but they're so good. Our two favorites are Strawberry Mochi Cream Mousse and Matcha Strawberry Latte. Trust me, so ridiculously good. Also, the manager(?) here is super nice. We had a child in our group that was honestly being a pain... he couldn't decide what he wanted and didn't like what he ordered. Then they remade it but he forgot to ask for boba. The matcha is batched and super watery. The strawberry puree was legit just syrup and the color of the matcha was almost brown. Legit took one sip and had to throw it away. Wouldn't recommend bc there's better matcha near by like Cafe Dulce. read more

I picked brown sugar boba with cream mousse, and the tiger stripes of brown sugar were extremely photogenic and appetizing. The milk is thick and creamy, with a very strong dairy taste. The staff told us their favorite drinks when we asked since it was our 1st time here. We ordered one of their suggestions, the Breezy, and enjoyed it. They had store made yummy chocolate chip cookies nice and warm too. They're about $5 each, but oh so good! Quiet place to relax, hang out, or get some work done. And their restroom (unisex) is clean! Not sure if we'll ever be on this neck of the woods, but I would come back if I could!

The warm fish against the cold ice cream created a great mix of textures and flavours, but once the fish is gone the ice cream itself is just ok. The taiyaki, in my humble opinion, are the winners. The Oreo taiyaki was absolutely delicious! It came out super fresh, they filled both the body AND tail with Oreo so every bite had a great ratio of chewy fish and filling. This location always fills their Taiyaki evenly which I appreciate, it's much better than the ones I've tried in Sawtelle. It's really affordable too, so definitely come try it.

There was a small line and moved pretty slowly as there was only one self check out. The staff was helpful but not overly friendly. They do allow 1 sample, which is kinda weird to me. What's the point of samples if you're limited to one? The line wasn't moving fast so the whole approach of "serving faster" seemed moot. The interior was small but definitely well decorated. The open front doors made it much hotter inside. My friend got the guava matcha cloud which was so good and unique. I got a scoop of the matcha #4 gelato with chocolate. The matcha and gelato was such a good combo. They didn't have jasmine when I went so I was a little sad. Overall, pretty solid matcha.
