I just hate when you spend your money some where and they don't deliver value. I ordered a bubble tea with extra boba- there was barely any added. I also ordered 2 crab and cheese rolls and the sauce included wasn't even enough for half a roll. Those rolls are literally $2.19 for one. Disappointed once again. I've been here at least five times since it opened, but I can't stop coming back! Usually I don't like Asian-fusion places since I hate the artificial taste, but Tin Drum is probably the only Asian-fusion place I will consistently return to. My favorite dishes at Tin Drum (so far) is the pad thai and the green curry. My least favorite dish is the chow mein - I thought it was too salty. The fried chicken as a protein can be a hit or miss depending on what type of entree you choose - it does not go well with the chow mein, but pairs well with the other noodle or rice dishes. The cheese rolls are sooooo good - I could definitely eat four in one sitting!! The only down side is that you have to order them individually - I wish you could order them in a set. The Tokyo fries are nothing noteworthy - it's literally just crinkle fries with sesame seeds sprinkled on top with a side of spicy mayo. I think the fries would taste better if they had a light drizzle of some kind of unagi sauce to elevate it - otherwise, it isn't worth ordering. read more

I just visited this location for the first time. I have been going to the Briarcliff / N Druid Hills location. I have to start my review of the Church Street location by saying WOW! First of all, this location is WAY different than the other location. First the look is completely different, and second, the menu is also different. I ordered the Ban Mi sandwich and the Tokyo fries. The Ban My sandwich was so good! The portion is just right and the taste is so on point! I was not excited about the crinkle fries as they didn't have a memorable flavor like the sandwich had. In addition they don't fit the cuisine in my opinion. This was our first time having Tin Drum in probably five or six years. We weren't in love with the menu options back then but had it on occasion. The current menu options sound more appetizing. I ordered the chicken lettuce wraps and Cantonese chili long beans, and husband decided to try the panang curry with fried chicken for a little something different. He didn't really care for the eggplant in the curry and said he's enjoyed more flavorful panang elsewhere. I didn't care for the amount of oil in the long beans. Very well seasoned but I had to drain the oil off of them. I have a family member who is from Chongqing, which isn't a Cantonese municipality, but some of her cooking styles are similar. She uses less oil than these beans had when we have her traditional hot pot dishes! The same with the lettuce wraps. They were flavorful but the filling was just so oily. I ordered a fruit tea with added blueberries and popping boba only to find that half the drink was ice. $4 for a cup of ice essentially. Additionally the sandwich was dry, dipping sauce for fries wasn't even full halfway for the amount of fries present. Only good thing perhaps were the fries themselves. Very overrated. The reviews were way too nice. It was such a let down. The place itself is nice. But the quality of food just isn't there. The fried chicken in the ramen bowl was the only half decent thing. We also had the sweet sesame chicken stir fry and the chicken was incredibly dry and crunchy. The sauce didn't have much flavor to it. We also had the panang curry chicken and didn't have the flavor of all ingredients expected. Didn't taste much of any basil which is a main ingredient to the dish. The chicken used was the precooked and flavored chicken breast chunks you can get from walmart. Completely disappointing. The 3 little pot stickers were nothing to rave about. This is a great stop for a light lunch. The sliders are fantastic and quite filling. I had the mango slider and want to head back for more. The cup of soup and slider was more than enough for a quick light lunch. If you have kids perfect stop as ther is plenty of choices for the little ones. The New DECATUR location has plenty of parking this is huge for COD resident. The staff was fantastic we had a issue with our order and the MANAGER immediately handled. The manager turned a negative into a positive experience and had earned a new loyal supporter of this eatery. We left this place full happy and in love with the new Decatur location. Can't want to make my way through their menu. if you are the type that orders the same thing at a restaurant START with the SLIDERS. You will be hooked. read more

The Dunwoody and Buckhead locations seem to be great. However, I don't think they can fix this place without a complete resources overhaul.
