Tiny pies is hands down our favorite place for pie in Austin. We go back again and again and they never disappoint. What we love most is their seasonal menus. They switch things up often and always have great options around the holidays. You can go in for Easter, Thanksgiving, or Christmas and know there will be something new to try, not just the same menu year-round. Everything is consistently high quality and genuinely delicious. There are times I think about a pie from a past season and wish I could get it again, but then their current seasonal menu comes out and immediately reminds me why we keep going back. The shop is small but the pies are on display so you can see exactly what you are buying. The young lady serving us was quick and efficient. They have a wide variety of pies. We ordered 7 different flavors (coconut cream, banana cream, chocolate cream, key lime, lemon meringue, strawberry rhubarb and blueberry). The banana cream pie was tasteless. Did not taste like banana at all. The only reason we knew the coconut cream was coconut was because it had flakes of coconut otherwise it was pretty tasteless as well. The others were all mediocre except the strawberry rhubarb. It was the best of them all. The rhubarb was very tart and the pie itself wasn't overly sweet. This small little business on Burnet Rd is tucked into a 200 ft.² space. As the name implies, they sell tiny pies. There's not much to see here, no big display cases of numerous baked goods, just 2 or 3 very small glass cases. I tried 2 variations of their pecan pies which sold for $11 and change. I paid by credit card which was followed by the obligatory tip screen which put it over $12. They do have some flaky breakfast items and other pie variations. They also sell some prepackaged Amy's ice cream for about $10. My first thought was that they are limiting their business by only making small bite-size pies and not full-size ones. Sometimes I crave pie but I don't need a whole pie, Tiny Pies is the answer. They are very good. The staff is super helpful and answered all my questions. The chocolate cream was very good, the mocha toffee pie was kind of the same flavor as chocolate I wanted more of the coffee flavor. The sugar cookie crunch is what you a expect identical taste to a sugar cookie it was great. The only issue I had was how crunchy the toppings were...like WAY too crunchy. I have to give it 3 stars for the price. I brought these to a family gathering and shared amongst others. I will say the pies are pretty pricey (for 6 it's like $32 and for $12 it's $70). I have always wanted to give this place a try, so when a friend and I decided to get some dessert, we agreed to swing by Tiny Pies! We went to their Burnet Rd location, about an hour before closing. A small parking lot and space, it was a cute little pie shop. We each ordered 2 flavors. I chose chocolate cream pie and their cherry one. The pie crust was delicious, which is the most important part of a great pie. Buttery and golden, flaky without crumbling. I loved the cupcake-sized versions that are perfect for dessert without having any leftover! Each tiny pie was about $5 or so. They have plenty of flavors on their menu, plus seasonal flavors, and savory options, too, if you want to get dinner. My only complaint was that, since the place is so small, there wasn't anywhere to sit and eat the pies. I'm assuming they're really just meant for takeout/pickup, but it would be nice to be able to sit and eat your treats. Overall, I'd definitely visit again to pick up some sweet treats! read more

This is a review for a delivery order with UberEats: a friend ordered these for my birthday and I was thoroughly disappointed. I mostly blame the Uber driver but I also think Tiny Pies packaged these terribly. They arrived completely flipped over and/or smashed - see the picture with this review to know what I mean! The pie crust was either hard and too thick or soggy. I got none of the buttery flakiness I crave from pie crust. We ended up scraping out the fillings and throwing away all the pie crusts. The fillings were ok - the lemon raspberry and strawberry cream were nice, but the pecan, cherry, berry balsamic were all pretty basic. There was barely any filling in the strawberry rhubarb, maybe because it had all leaked through the crust so I can't comment on that filling. Maybe these are better in person but I would recommend no one order these as a gift, delivery, or takeout. read more

Bourbon Chess was good, not too sweet, I had Chess pies before that were way too sweet, and this one wasn't. Not pictured we also had the pie freeze with Pecan pie mixed it. My first holiday in Austin and I wanted to find some great pies. I came across Tiny Pies here on Yelp and they seemed pretty legit. I found the ability to order my pies online quite easy and picking them up was just as easy. Because I haven't even tried any of their "tiny" pies, we were looking for full size pies for Thanksgiving and went with a traditional Pecan and Apple pie. Again, quite easy to order online and just as easy to pick up. I picked a date/time for the pick up and when I went to get my pies, it might have taken five minutes. The pies are packed in a nice box and well protected when traveling with them. When the moment of truth came and tried them... nothing short of amazing! From the crust to the filling, you can taste they use only the best and freshest ingredients. It sounds corny I'm sure, but they taste like someone made each pie as if that was the only pie they were making. I really wouldn't be able to decide which pie was better because both were amazing and we will definitely be back for more to try some other flavors. One downside is the price. I completely understand they are hand made but at $30+ per pie, it's a bit exorbitant and more of a luxury, something we will indulge in once in awhile but not regularly. I actually cook/bake a bit and know what it takes to make something like this and I just can't understand the $30 price for something that costs less than $5 to make. I thought I had posted the review but realized i haven't, so we got there take n bake pie for thanksgiving, instructions was supposed to be inside the box but it wasn't so mailed them and got the instructions but they hadn't mentioned, if the pie has to be thawed before baking or if it's freezer to oven, so mailed them back 1-2days before thanksgiving but got a reply after couple of days past thanksgiving! Pie looked really pretty, artistic and well made by looking at it and my son was excited to try but he was very disappointed:( After I baked it, I dint cut it until it came to room temperature as my kiddo wanted that perfect rectangle shape but the base of pie crust was so thin it wasn't holding up the filling and the filling was bit watery so it was soggy and mess, so I have to shape it to a rectangle for him:( The day it was baked, edges tasted good, buttery and crispy and crumbs tasted good too, but the filling tasted so cinnamony, it was like too much cinnamon, we use and eat spices at home regularly, but this was like a slap on The face, attached the picture below and actually you can see cinnamon in it, it's like a cinnamon syrup or something, tried eating with lots of ice cream and whipped cream but still couldn't eat it, stored in air tight containers but still the edges had gone soft and crumb was sticky the next day and it was a total disaster. I was a big fan of Tiny Pies. I buy them frequently when I need to serve dessert at a party. This time the pies were not up to par. The pecan had almost no filling - just pecans and crust. The raspberry and peach cheesecake pies were not like cheesecake and not tasty. One woman at the party didn't finish hers because of the taste and texture. For the price, I wasn't impressed. I hope the next time I go things will be improved and if not, sadly, I'll have to find another go- to dessert place. read more
