I stopped by TLC Austin after getting a coupon for a free order of crispy fried okra on Facebook, and it was a nice bonus to the meal. The fried okra halves were served with house made smoked black pepper ketchup and ranch dressing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has indoor and outdoor picnic style seating. There is also a bar area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were created promptly upon arrival and seated indoors. The service was friendly and efficient. For my meal, I ordered the crab and shrimp scramble, which was hearty and packed with seafood. It also came with a side of fried potatoes and toast with the most delicious jam. My friend ordered the calamari, which was 24 hour buttermilk soaked Point Judith Calamari, fried and tossed with sliced Jalapenos, Green Onions, Salt and citrus pepper seasoning. It was lightly breaded and cooked well and served with lemon aioli dipping sauce. One thing to note is that parking has changed. The garage now uses a QR code system instead of free parking, but the restaurant still offers one hour of parking validation. Overall, I had an enjoyable visit with good food and good service. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is quite a nice place to hang out in especially when it's not a rainy day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food and drinks here are also pretty good. Service is good. Our server ran the bar and nearby tables at the same time. Getting orders were slower but she did her best. I would come back to try the other food but not the boil. The boil was very average. There are better spots for the value. But all else is very good.

Went here on a VERY rainy day. The service was very friendly and welcoming, our server was also running the bar so it was a bit slower. No problem here though, we've all been there. The signature boil was about average. Decent price, but a bit blunt when it comes to flavor. Chicken fried ribeye was delicious but wayyyy too much batter. Loved the drinks, I had The Daphne and Bongos Naked. The Daphne was closer to pina colada. Pretty strong drinks, I started feeling it toward the middle of my first round. Would definitely like to try other options

The scallops melted in your mouth, and the seafood boil was well seasoned (just a tad overcooked which is the reason for 4 stars). The service was great, our server was very attentive. TLC has a lot of fun activities like arcade games, and cornhole if you come in a group. I will be back!

After 1.5 half hours of silent disco dancing at Highball, I had worked up an appetite. However, I did not want a full meal, but something to tide me over until I got home. While at Highball you could see the bright lights from TLC, which were alluring. TLC is located on S. Lamar across the street from Highball and the Alamo drafthouse. TLC appeared to have a million Christmas lights both indoors and outdoors. It is a casual restaurant with a Texas twist. You can find comfort food, fresh seafood, and 30+ beers on tap. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The furniture is picnic style, which gives off a family friendly vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]TLC has ample space. As such, it would be great for hosting large groups, families, or friends in a casual environment[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Importantly, their patio is dog-friendly and will be well suited for your fur babies.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I looked at the appetizer menu and had my heart set up on bacon-wrapped deviled eggs. Sounded so yummy and something I could eat while I drove home. However, the bartender told me they had been wiped out due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Noooooooooo!!! Say it isn't so. Yep, afraid so. Then, I trekked home without food. Once home, I wrestled up some snacks. This venue appears to be super cool. I look forward to returning and enjoying some of their menu items.

A friend convinced me we needed the bacon flight as well as mac and cheese. She was right! What a fun tasting. Truly excellent mac and cheese, to be honest much better than it looks. Easy parking in Lamar Union. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Casual setting. Good amount of indoor and outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Friendly, fast & knowledgeable staff!

Thanks to foodie influencer @austineater, we went to try this place during game day 9/6. Completely flabbergasted to find out that it's been here for six years?! Nonetheless, the food was absolute bomb. We sat at the bar and had an attentive bartender, I think his name was Darren or Garrett (sorry!). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was shocked at how many tables were available during a UT game.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This place should not be slept on and I can't figure out why it is. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They even had the sound on for the game![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will definitely be back! Oh, also, bartender gave us a $25 off coupon for our next visit!! AND they give out free salt water taffy when you pay! Love that!

Bananas Foster waffle and brisket skillet hash
    ciara m.

Went for brunch a few weeks ago with my boyfriend. I got the Bananas Foster Belgian waffle and he got the brisket skillet hash. My waffle was very crispy and golden brown, and the bananas foster topping was sweet and banana-y. I just wish I had gotten a savory side to balance out the flavors. My boyfriend enjoyed his brisket skillet hash, said it was very filling and hearty, and the avocado added some freshness to an otherwise heavy dish. I've been to TLC before for dinner and enjoyed their mac and cheese and fries, always a staple.

Came here for dinner on a fun-filled cousins' day!! Visiting Austin for the first time so it was great exploring the area and easily navigating. Our service was very great in handling our large group while having the best, fun spirit! These oysters were amazing!!! I should've just ordered a whole dozen to myself as my entree

You have to get a seafood boil here!
    Nhu L.

You cannot beat $1 oysters year round. I go to TLC like 5-7 times a year. I absolutely love the oysters and seafood boils here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is very nice with the bright light and big windows.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I don't mind that it's not in a plastic bag, I think it's still flavorful laid out in the dish. Seafood is pricey so the bill adds up but I think it's worth it for all the food that you get! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great for large parties and date night![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Atomic Shrimp
    Armand D.

Great Happy Hour! Gulf oysters for $1 each all day everyday. They only ran out once when we went there. The Atomic Shrimp Cocktail is a must! Huge gulf shrimp swimming in a extremely spicy cocktail sauce. Whoa! Not for the timid. The service and the food are great!

Super delicious and affordable seafood spot. Snow crab was discounted on Wednesday (love that), and the shrimp was very fresh. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fun ambiance with outdoor seating as an addition.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Attentive service as well! Just wish the lobster was in stock.

    How are their crawfish boils?

TLC knows how to put together a crawfish boil! The crawfish were massive, clean, tasty, and impressively consistent. One of the best offerings is that they offer about 6-7 different seasonings to try out. My favorites are the Cajun and Smoked Garlic… Read more

Do they allow dogs on the patio?

Is the full menu available during brunch?

    Is it gluten free?

    Yes.

The waitress said their whole menu was gluten free but I didn't risk it on their chicken fried steak. Is it really gluten free? The batter and gravy looked too good to be true!

Streets were full of people. Anthem had a vibe. I felt the energy as soon as I waked in. The cozy booths with the U shaped seating with plush green velvet fabric. Wait staff wore Hawaiian shirts. Sitting up behind me on a ledge was the Easter Island statue. Insert (Night At The Museum) here, dumb dumb give me gum gum. Anthem was our first stop tonight. Just drinks and a dinner. I ordered the Peach Fuzzy drink. Not too sweet, refreshing, peachy, and beautiful garnish of a flower. I ordered the Yummy Fries which looked like a salad. Gorgeous presentation. Fries were actually waffle sweet potatoes. Pickled ginger, sesame seeds, furikake, aïoli and a few other wonderful ingredients. Could not get over how beautiful everything looked. Presentation outstanding. Service delightful. Had a wonderful time at Anthem. We both did use the ladies rooms before leaving. I came here last night 7/1 with my family for my birthday dinner. We had never been here before but heard good things! The view at Nido is breathtaking, the lay out is nice and the seating is comfortable, even with children. The apps and drinks are 10/10. The mains are where we encountered problems. I ordered a petite filet and I have attached the picture below. They served me a New York strip ( obviously) and tried to pass it off as a filet. I have never had a filet come cut like this and you can tell by the meat this was a strip not a fillet. They said all of their filets come pre sliced like this. So that must mean they are passing off New York strips as a filet. Which is not only unethical but so disappointing. Don't have a filet on the menu if you're going to do this. Most people probably can't tell the difference but we could, easily. Managers were nice, but would not own that this was not the right cut of meat and insisted it was in fact a filet. Yall be the judge by the photo below. The "mushrooms" on the plate were also charred to an unrecognizable point. The only other steak we ordered at medium well was served medium rare. We also ordered biscuits that never came but we were not charged for them. I will say they did comp my steak and my husbands and gave me some dessert on the house, which we sincerely appreciated. Don't come here for dinner. Drinks and apps for the view and that's it!

The first thing that stood out was the beautiful ambiance. The restaurant offers both stunning indoor and outdoor seating, making it perfect for any occasion. Since we planned to bring our dog, we called ahead to confirm outdoor seating availability. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and promptly guided to the outdoor patio. Before we even had a chance to ask, the staff brought a bowl of water for our dog, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Another touch that made the evening special was that the staff acknowledged our son's birthday upon arrival and presented him with a birthday card signed by team members. It was a simple but incredibly sweet gesture that made him feel celebrated. For drinks, my husband ordered the Swedish Fish Punch, while I enjoyed the Family Business German Pilsner. For appetizers, we shared the Burrata and a salad that is no longer on the menu. The salad featured cashew butter and was absolutely delicious. Both appetizers were beautifully prepared, flavorful, and generously portioned for the three of us. For the main course, we decided to share two dishes. I wanted to try a vegetarian option, and our server was extremely helpful, offering several menu items that could be modified. I chose the Mafaldine pasta, and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. It was rich, flavorful, and unlike any pasta dish I've had before. Every bite was outstanding. My son ordered the salmon, which was equally delicious and perfectly cooked. Both dishes were satisfying and filling. Since we wanted to save room for dessert, sharing the entrees turned out to be the perfect decision. We ordered the Pistachio Crème Brûlée and Sticky Toffee Pudding, and the restaurant also surprised our son with a complimentary birthday cake complete with a candle. All three desserts were exceptional and a perfect ending to the meal. Eberly is definitely a high-end dining destination and an excellent choice for special occasions, celebrations, or gatherings with family and friends. The indoor and outdoor spaces are beautiful and spacious, the service is attentive and thoughtful, and every dish felt carefully crafted with unique flavors and attention to detail. What impressed me most was that every aspect of the experience--from the hospitality to the food and special touches--felt intentional and genuine. We left feeling celebrated, well-fed, and already looking forward to our next visit.

The turkey avocado sandwich (my husband enjoyed it) and the hot chicken sandwich was so good ( a little spicy but very well seasoned! My 9 yr old daughter had the chicken fingers kids meal (not pictured). She enjoyed it but the portions for the kids meal are a bit small so keep that in mind. All in all, we will definitely be back to try new items!

Pro tip: Check for daily happy hour times! Sunday HH is between 5 & 7!! On a Sunday!! A fun…read moresurprise. Dish Society is a solid spot to gather with a group at any time throughout the week. With a point system to accrue benefits over time, and at each visit, and impressive happy hour specials for both food and drinks, it's hard not to visit more than once. Every member of service either greeted us, or supported our needs with a smile. Calvin, especially, made sure every step of our experience from walking in through ordering was special. While we didn't indulge in the beverages, we enjoyed the $10 burger special which also came with fries! We paired this with a side of a $6 Caesar Salad (really tasty and thrown together with thinly sliced cabbage, roasted chickpeas, and popcorn chicken). Next time, I'd really love to try the truffle mac and cheese (which was also on HH). We weren't aware of the upcharge for swapping out the slice of American for Cheddar (+$1.50), which would've been nice to know ahead of time, since we both got burgers and wondered about the swap...but lesson learned. Also, BIG lesson learned...the parking validation is for only two hours! We were having such a lovely time at Dish Society, but exceeded the 2 hrs (by an extra hour) and got charged a significant amount for parking. Next time, we will certainly park on the street. We tried reasoning with the parking attendant and they wanted no business in understanding we were patrons of the restaurant. It was certainly an unexpected shock, and didn't leave the best final touch of our evening (specifically in that parking garage). It's unfortunate that we got penalized for enjoying our time at dinner.
