My husband & I went to enjoy a breakfast on a Sat. morning after checking Google reviews & seeing lots of pics of yummy items. However, when we arrived we found a very limited menu w/only 1 sweet dish (Ube French Toast) all other dishes are considered savoy breakfast items. My hubby asked to order a Mimi Pie from the menu & was told there were none made, but there might be some tomorrow, like we cared about what's avail tomorrow (2nd strike). I ordered a Cappuccino, & the Chicken & Waffles (herd buttermilk) since I was told the Orange Glaze flavor also wasn't available (3rd strike) My hubby got the Chilaquiles. I got my Cappuccino but sadly drank it all before the food ever arrived, since we waited approx. 30mins for our food (4th strike). My dish looked promising but when I bit into the chicken it was absolutely the worst fried chicken I've ever had. There was absolutely NO flavor, not even a hint of salt. It tasted like they took a piece of chicken simply dipped it in buttermilk & plain flour then fried it in rancid oil, I was not eating that! My hubby's Chilaquiles were also a total let down. It was mainly a bowl of chips with minimal toppings, 1 fried egg & hardly any sauce, I compared the dish to nachos rather than Chilaquiles (5th strike). At this point there was nothing to salvage about our visit. We both just wanted to leave, I explained to the server our opinions on the food and that we didn't want to try anything else on the menu. She informed the manager who never even came to our table, but told our server we didn't have to pay for anything. I did offer to pay for my cappuccino, but they refused. They didn't even chop up the bacon. I understand they were trying to do it quickly, but it was not good. We also got French toast as an appetizer (which they're known for) and I was not a fan. I had high hopes for this place, but it was such a disappointment. I ordered a burrito, and what I received was soggy, sad, and limp, despite the staff's assurances that it would be fine. My burrito was completely drenched in cheese with barely any other ingredients. To top it all off, they seem to love ube so much that it even found its way into my breakfast burrito. Decided late in the day to check this out and raced from our house to get there around 1:15, knowing they closed at 2:00. They graciously sat us at a table and were patient while we ordered. We shared a breakfast sandwich (sans millionaire's bacon) and a grilled avocado salad. The breakfast Sandro was absolutely yummy! My only complaint is that, as vegetarians, we had to pay the same amount as if we had the bacon. But that certainly didn't affect the flavors. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the hash browns were crispy enough, and the brioche bun actually made the sandwich. We don't often add salt to anything, but th is needed just a little something to skosh it up, which we were able to do with a little hot sauce. The grilled avocado salad was a revelation! I really would not have ever considered mixing avocado with pomegranate and apple, but we loved this salad! We usually ask for extra dressing with any salad, but this was wonderfully dressed and seasoned right off the bat. No additions needed. I'm drooling thinking about diving into one again. I also ordered a vanilla latte, which was delicious. As someone who prefers coffees in the sweet side, it wasn't as sweet as I usually like, but was sweet and creamy enough that I enjoyed it. This place looks a lot nicer on Yelp. But to be fair, most places do in photos. We came for a girls brunch on a Saturday morning. Since we were sitting outside in the sun, we asked if one of the corner umbrellas could be moved to our table. The server explained that the only working ones were taken. Ok, not a deal breaker. We went on to enjoy ourselves. Our server was attentive but also seemed to be pulled in different directions at the same time. The place was really understaffed. I ordered a cappuccino and the short-stack pancakes plain with a side of eggs. The food was pretty good, I must say. And the coffee was smooth. Even though I asked for the pancakes plain, they came with brown sugar on top. I thought that was a little odd, but it didn't really bother me. The chicken and waffle dish was a hit at our table. Everyone loved what they ordered. We did have a little problem with checking out and the bill had to be corrected several times. Again, we knew they were understaffed and doing their best. So we did not complain. Maybe they're not used to the amount of foot traffic on weekends. Anyways, I would love to return and try other menu items. read more

I don't know her name, she's white, a little older, very light blond long hair tied up in a bun behind her head/neck. She worked on 3/1/25 morning. Table wasn't ready when we got texted. I had to wait in line with people who were just putting their names down in order to speak to her. Finally I got to the front of line, showed the text that my table's ready. Nope it wasn't ready cuz she read out "you need a high chair!" I said yes, she said I'll get the table set up right now. I removed one chair for her to put a highchair there and said "I'll be right back with a high chair", then she walked back to her hostess stand n started helping other people who were just putting their names down on the waitlist. I stood there staring at her, waiting for the highchair, she helped more people. Then more people. And then more people. Then I walked closer to her hostess stand staring at her annoyed, she kept helping other people, ignoring me. Meanwhile we were carrying baby in our lap and couldn't do anything. Then I got in line again so I can speak to her, reminding her about the high chair she promised to grab 10minutes ago. She ignored me. I stood there pissed off, finally a young lady (barista?) with darker skin who were by the kitchen cashier walked around the kitchen counter up to me and asked if I needed something. I said we have been waiting for a highchair for 15 minutes. Even though she's pregnant, she immediately grabbed it for us. Then she grabbed waters for us. Then we asked her we still don't have any menus. She's like oh I'm sorry, she then quickly grabbed menus and utensils for us. I looked over to the hostess, cuz she was supposed to grab all these for us, and what's she doing? She's busy cleaning up dirty plates from tables INSTEAD OF GRABBING ANYTHING for us. We seriously waited 32 minutes just to sit down and have menus in front of us. What is wrong with this hostess?!? What is wrong with this restaurant?!? What is wrong with processes?!? Change the way you do business!!!! Take care of customers so we can hurry and eat, and be on our way so other people on the waitlist can get their tables quickly. This hostess is inefficient, she cannot multitask, she doesn't know how to ask the line of people to wait while she takes care of those who have table ready. There should be two lines! Those with tables ready shouldn't have to get back in line again. (FYI everyone in line wanted me back to end of the line, and wait with the rest of them.) Have proper signs. One sign for waitlist, one sign for table ready! Hire a better hostesses, please! Someone who can think fast, work fast, multitask!!! This is so RIDICULOUS that I got texted at just before 11am that my table was ready, and I was finally able to sit down with my family and have menus at 11:32!!! UNACCEPTABLE! Also food came out extremely slow. Some positives: The darker skinned young lady who's pregnant was very friendly and attentive, covering others who were lacking. Got the chicken & waffles, they served me old fried chicken that tasted stale and oily, I can tell they reheated it in the microwave, the only thing edible was the waffles. The sisig burrito was awful and tasted nothing like sisig, it had chunks of bland fatty pork, cheese and avocado poorly wrapped in a flour tortilla, which tasted like oil and chemical, this is worst burrito I've ever had. Sisig does not have avocado or cheese, another review said this same thing! this thing is an embarrassment to the filipino cuisine. If you're going to continue to serve this, at least hire someone who knows how to make it. The waitress came by and asked how the food was, when I expressed my disappointment, she became rude. I asked to speak with the manager, but I don't think that person was there. There was a lady that said she's the "owner", she did not care about the poor quality of the food and is rude. This is shocking as a good business owner would have apologized and offered to make it right. That was not the case here. These 5 star reviews I'm seeing here are probably posted by their staff! This place is a joke... our first and last time here. Once we arrived, we were told 30-45mins. 35 mins later we sit and receive waters shortly after. I ask their waitress where our drinks were. She tells us she will get our waitress. Original waitress comes by to tell us that she "forgot to put the order in". No apologies, no acts of urgency... our food came out shortly after this. The bacon burrito was described to have 'crispy bacon' in it. As you can see from my photo that bacon was the opposite of crisp... I leave the other half to the trash. My partner ordered the Sisig burrito which was cold and not all that flavorful. Finally I see someone behind the counter at the espresso machine. A completely different staff member approached us with our check, asking if we needed anything. Is this a joke? You can tell no one communicates here at all. This is now the third person I spoke to about our extremely delayed order. I made a planned stop at Toast, coming back from LA - had it in my Yelp brunch collection. It was too late for brunch food and I was craving a big hamburger. This smashed burger hit all the notes. I requested a table flooded by sunlight, by one of the floor to ceiling windows. The perfect setting for a late winter afternoon lunch. The service was fast and friendly. While I was enjoying the sun I read about the founders of the restaurant and I felt great eating there, supporting the business. This Tustin location is their second one. It has indoor and large outdoor seating areas, it's open, airy, bright, and easily accessible, just a few blocks south of the 55 fwy. Review is for Takeout Only: I've picked up breakfast burritos from this location a few times now, and initially I wanted to disregard the slow service because the food is actually tasty. Although considering this has continued to happen every single time I order, I think it's safe to say it's not a fluke. Ordered 2 breakfast burritos for takeout through the phone, and two times now upon arrival the servers have no receipt of my order. I ended up having to replace my order upon arrival and wait longer. Normally I wouldn't care about this, but each time this has happened the wait staff specifically let me know that my order would be ready ASAP, and that I can sit outside to wait as they will bring the food out to me. After waiting a while, I checked in on my food to see if it was ready - which it wasn't. No problem here. Went back outside to wait, but after a while I went inside again to check if it was finally ready. The same bag that was sitting on the counter the first time I checked in on my food was handed to me (and the food wasn't hot anymore. Aghhhh. I ended up sitting and waiting there for over 45 minutes!! Toast, pls create a more organized takeout system. Breakfast is such an easy simple meal to prepare, I usually don't eat it out. I decided to take my son here for a random breakfast date the menu is small like super small. He got the burrito I got a simple egg plate with bacon and toast. My eggs were not edible they tasted fake and strange. The bacon was crisper and burnt past being edible or ever palatable . Mm-mmm, that didn't happen because I ate the whole thing, not even touching the breakfast burrito at the end and taking it home. Food okay, restroom situation is horrific. There's a full women's restroom with multiple stalls but no men's restroom, just a single any-gender restroom. When I got there the single was locked and I waited for 20 minutes thinking maybe somebody was having a situation and I didn't want to rush them. Eventually I asked a staff member if there was another restroom somewhere for men and they said the lock on the single regularly gets jammed. They pried it open and nobody was even inside. No apology despite them knowing I just waited 20 minutes as my food got cold for no reason. I don't understand how a restaurant this large doesn't have better restroom accommodations for men. And if you know the ONLY source for men to use a restroom has regular issues with the door why wouldn't you post something on the door or say something when you see a guy just standing there for 20 minutes?
