Sunomono

5/5 STARS - First-time customer and absolutely impressed! I decided to try Andy's Tokyo Sushi for the first time through DoorDash, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, flavor, and freshness of everything I ordered. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced with generous portions. I ordered the Zig Zag Hand Roll (Soft Shell Crab), Sunomono Salad, Miso Soup, Sake Nigiri, and a 49er Roll. The miso soup was perfectly balanced and comforting, just as expected. The Sunomono salad was huge! My photo doesn't do it justice! Easily enough for multiple meals. The Zig Zag Hand Roll was phenomenal -- honestly better than Mikuni! The 49er Roll was bursting with flavor, and the touch of lemon on top was perfect. The Sake Nigiri was incredibly fresh with a thick, beautiful cut of salmon. Everything exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be ordering from here again soon!

This is my second time here. Both times were great experiences. This place is nice for any occasion and the staff is friendly. I'm not saying it's upscale but with a cute outside setting that's small and intimate and cute lighting inside this place seems like it comes alive at night! I love these kind of vibes that make you feel like you're somewhere else at night

This is the best sushi you can find anywhere in California, let alone right here in Folsom! From the appetizers to the rolls we were beyond satisfied with everything we got. Will be back over and over!!

Was craving sushi...little did we know how yummy the food would be. The staff was efficient and food was fresh. It's a small little establishment but makes up for the flavors and freshness. We will be back!!!

Sweet mango roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Crunch Roll

I went here with my kid for lunch around noon and were seated right away. The older lady who took our order was very kind and gave my kid a training clip for the chopsticks. We ordered sweet mango roll, spicy tuna roll & crunch roll. The food came out pretty fast. What I like about their sushi is that the rice layer wasn't too thick and the filling portion was good. The ingredients tasted fresh and the portion for each roll was good. - Sweet mango roll: our favorite! It was on a sweet side due to the mango & sweet sauce but it had everything in a roll: unagi, shrimp tempura & crab meat! Delicious combo - Spicy tuna roll: good solid spicy tuna roll - Crunch roll: since my kid's favorite is shrimp tempura roll, this was the closest that they have plus additional tempura crunch on top. This extra crunchy roll was good. By the end of our meal, the kind lady gave my son a small coloring book for finishing the sushi. This made my kid's day and he's now asking to go there all the

Great food and great service! It's a cute setting with lots of food options. I've gone here twice and appreciate that there's a kids menu. I feel like the portions are really good too and I get to enjoy my meal without feeling rushed.

Great tofu sushi and agedashi! We've ordered from them several times and they're the best option in the area for plant-based sushi dishes.

The interior is focused and intimate, utilizing wood booths and panel walls creating a serene space that is almost ritualistic in a peaceful and unwinding way. The waitress was very Kind to us and the chef was prompt. On top of our orders, the chef brought out carved fruit for our kids twice! Before and after our meals. We thought this was such a great gesture and make the kiddos happy and feel special. The food was great! Love that they have a protein section using no rice to skip the carbs. Their toro was fantastic, and the chef even placed 24k gold flakes on top when he presented the dish. This was a great experience and we cannot wait to return and enjoy another wonderful experience! Highly recommend!

Since it wasn't very busy when we arrived, we were seated right away. The dining room is fairly large, with a mix of tables, booths, and counter seating. Each table has a tablet for electronic ordering, but we decided to go old-fashioned and order through our server. We started with a large hot sake and six pieces of gyoza, asking our server to hold the entrées until we finished. The sake hit the spot and paired nicely with the gyoza. The gyoza tasted good but was just a bit harder than we'd like. For the main meal, I ordered a bento box with nigiri sushi and tempura, while the others chose a salmon teriyaki bento box and a Spicy Yellowtail Roll. My nigiri tasted fresh and nicely prepared. I also tried a piece of the Spicy Yellowtail Roll and found it to have a nice flavor profile. The salmon teriyaki was clean and sweet, with a natural salmon flavor, and was tender and juicy. The portions were generous, making for a satisfying meal, and everyone enjoyed their food, although my companions thought the tempura was a bit too oily. Despite the slightly firm gyoza and oily tempura, the good sake, generous portions, and relaxed atmosphere made for a very enjoyable lunch. The highlight for me was sipping the remaining sake and enjoying the nigiri.

People need a Good Sushi restaurant around this area! We were seated immediately a little after 5, but the place filled up within 15 minutes. The sushi, sashimi and cooked food were all better than expected. I been to a lot of AYCE places and normally fish slices are super thin, it's not the case here. Sashimi were fresh, good sizes, nigiri's were not trimmed down, so many options! I love the option to add Amaebi, Fresh Osyters, Uni, and Blue Fin at a decent price. The Garlic seasoned nigiri all were delicious. I don't think I ate anything bad tonight. The deserts can be a bit bigger than sushi size. But they do allow you to order as much as you can eat. Leo our waiter was Wonderful and was on top of it. The dishes didn't take too long, it was typical for a busy night. I will definitely come back for more!

Not fancy, not trying to be trendy... just home-style food prepared with care and ready when hunger hits. The teriyaki chicken bowl was delicious with a savory sauce that wasn't overly heavy or too sweet, but honestly the standout for me was the Filipino food menu. The lechon, chicken adobo, and pancit really make this place feel extra special and local. The food has that comforting homemade feeling that reminds you why smaller family style spots are usually the hidden gems. And of course... I couldn't leave without getting the halo-halo. I went with the avocado version because honestly... green dessert for the green T-Rex just made sense. Instant happiness. This is the kind of place that may not look fancy on the outside, but the food brings that comforting home-cooked feeling that keeps people loyal. Rex tip: Perfect stop before or after shopping at the outlets when you want something filling without a long sit-down wait. 5 ROARS from Focusaurus Rex

After hearing about Teriyaki Station ATBP, I knew I had to take my Mom and sister here to try them out. While they have the classics, such as adobo, lumpia and pansit, I was pleasantly surprised to see some not so common menu items such as kare kare, crispy pata, and silog meals (served up until 3PM). I was hoping to try their kare kare, as it's one of my favorite Filipino dishes but sadly it's only offered on Fridays and Saturdays. We went ahead and ordered a pork adobo ricebowl, tapsilog, lumpia, sago't gulaman, and lechon kawali. Everything we ordered was tasty and came out hot and quick. We particularly liked the flavor and tenderness of the pork adobo and the lumpia was very crispy. I also love that they have a vinegar dispenser on the side for all your sawsawan needs which goes great with the meat dishes. Will definitely be back to try more dishes, especially their kare kare and dessert options.

Taste is subjective, and what one person finds delicious, another may not. However, there are certain universal aspects of dining, such as customer service, cleanliness, communication, and overall hospitality, that every restaurant should strive to deliver. My reviews reflect the complete experience, not just what's on the plate. We decided to try Hasu Teriyaki & Sushi in Folsom for the first time and brought the kids along. Unfortunately, the experience got off to a rough start. When we walked in, there were several open tables, but no one greeted us or explained whether we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. A female employee saw us but didn't provide any direction, so we picked a table ourselves. After waiting for a bit with no acknowledgment, I had to get up and grab menus on my own. We spent about eight minutes deciding what to order (never easy with kids), but still no one came by. After another several minutes, I finally walked the few feet to the register and asked, "Are we supposed to order here or at the table?" The response was simply, "Yes, order here." After placing my order, I was immediately prompted to add a tip before receiving any service, which is something I personally find frustrating. Then I grabbed our cups to fill our drinks myself, only to find the ice machine was out of ice. At that point, it felt like we were striking out on every opportunity for a good first impression. It appears there's only one employee handling both the register and the dining area, which may explain some of the confusion. If that's the system, it would really help to have a sign letting customers know to seat themselves and order at the counter. There are only about seven tables inside, but without any guidance, the dining experience is confusing for first-time visitors. Once the food arrived, it was presented nicely. I ordered the Rainbow Roll and Dragon Roll, and visually they looked great. Unfortunately, I found the flavors to be underwhelming. The sushi was very mild, and even the wasabi had almost no heat. I added far more wasabi than I normally would, yet it barely had any kick. For someone who really enjoys sushi, the overall flavor just didn't stand out. The kids' non-raw rolls were also just average. To her credit, the employee did check on us twice after the food arrived, and she was friendly. I think she recognized that I was frustrated after spending roughly 15 minutes in the restaurant without any acknowledgment or explanation of how ordering worked. Overall, the experience wasn't terrible, but it wasn't one that makes me eager to return. Between the confusing service, lackluster first impression, and sushi that was simply average, I'd probably look elsewhere next time.

We came in on a Tuesday night and there was still a crowd, but we were seated within about 15 minutes. The prices have definitely gone up in the 10ish years I've been coming, so it's probably more a rare treat than an occasional visit. Everything was super fresh and came out quick enough. The serving size for some of the dishes have diminished, for example, the Musolino Pasta. Considering the base is upon noodles, I'm surprised they're putting less into that rather than their fish. The sushi rolls and sashimi dishes we picked still had a lot of fish pieces and very very fresh. Just that one big ding on a non-sushi based dish and of course the prices. Aside from that, I still love coming here and the Fair Oaks location is still near and dear to my heart.
