Since I usually crave Thai food and indulge in said craving about once per week, I'm no stranger to Tom Yum Thai and can't believe I haven't reviewed it earlier. I have never actually eaten in here, but always get take out, so I can't comment much about the service besides the fact that it's usually ready very quickly and the decor and environment are nice. I've tried the Tom Kha Gai which is coconut mushroom soup, and found it to have a delicious sweet flavor and very refreshing. For entree, I usually get pad thai, which I realize isn't exactly going out on a limb, but it is tasty and never disappoints. The "Amazing" chicken, which is rice with chicken, broccoli and peanut sauce, is another winner for peanut sauce fans! What are you waiting for? Give it a shot!! read more

If you're looking for good sushi in Dunedin!!! I have only ordered sushi from here... A lot of people pass up this place because it's hidden behind umbertos next to the middle school. But don't judge this book by the cover- inside you'll find a genuine staff, a zen atmosphere and delicious food! Plus they have amazing lunch specials!! I've had Pisces (at both locations), and blue sake. Tom Yum is so much better price wise and with fish quality. I have ordered food here at least once a week for 2+years! Excellent good. Amazing tofu very crispy. The drunken noodle has delicious basil flavor. The wonton soup is delicious.

Regular customer go there at least 2 times a month. the food is very good and there very sweet. It's tasty compares to other ones I went. I really recommend this little place you'll love it for sure. The food was excellent. I had the red curry, which was phenomenal. Wife had pad seew and enjoyed it. But I think she enjoyed the kids dinner even more, which was the sweet & sour with chicken. The flavor of all the dishes was just what I was looking for. The staff was very friendly and attentive. All the employees and even the owner made us feel welcomed. My only complaint is that they don't have a location in Orlando! I would definitely be a regular if I lived in the area. read more

This place makes me actually consider moving to Dunedin. This is, hands down, the BEST sushi I have EVER had in my life. Unfortunately, I live in Hernando county, in Brooksville......needless to say there are but 2 sushi options near me and neither of them even come close to Tom Yum Thai. I've been eating here pretty much since they opened and I have never had a bad meal in this place. Granted, I like some dishes better than others, but if you like good, tasty, "home cooked" Thai Food, then this is your place. The owner is a wonderful woman and her mom does most of the cooking. And let's not forget that they have some of the best sushi in the Tampa Bay area! If you go during lunch time, you can have one of their wonderful Bento boxes with a combination of great sushi and Thai food. They only serve this during lunch though. This is not the original restaurant. I have flown for an airline flying 2-3 times a month to Thailand for over 35 years and this was the worst Thai food I have ever eaten in. Several years ago prior to current owners it was noteworthy. Now it is a disgrace to Thai food. I love Thai food. The rice must have been made 1 week ago. The two slivers small pieces of beef. The only evil jungle prince was the owners lack of authenticity. Horrible! The rice is an extra $2.00 for an extra for a teaspoon. We went elsewhere after spending $60.00. NEVER AGAIN! read more

I love coming here for lunch. The bento boxes are perfect. I love the Pad Thai and the Panang bentos. The bento boxes come with sushi, salad and soup. This would not be my first stop for Thai food, but I did enjoy the sushi. We ordered a few rolls, some soup and red curry chicken. I didn't like the chicken in the curry or the soup it tasted microwaved, you know that weird flavor that chicken gets after being heated up in the microwave, yeah that. I would possibly try a vegetarian curry next time, because the flavors of the sauce were good. We did like the sushi, which worries me a little since the chicken tasted microwaved, but hey I'm still kicking so it must have been fine :) Our service was great, which you don't always find in Thai restaurants! Awful. Sushi was gross, edamame was overcooked and came with a worm, and the server never even apologized or said sorry or even let us know if she'd be back with a replacement. I can understand mistakes and a rogue worm in the edamame, but the disregard of customers and the complete lack of communication (no comment whatsoever when the errors were brought to the server's attention. She just grabbed the plates and left without a word) left an even worse taste in our mouths than the bad sushi. Maybe the Thai is better, but I'm not willing to find out. I ordered sushi takeout from this place so I can only comment on that portion of the menu. I thought the sushi was the best I had come across since moving into the area and believe me I've tried many places. The rolls were fairly large and fresh. Though some I cared for more than others they were all worth trying. I'm looking forward to stopping in for lunch as I've noticed they have many great thai/sushi lunch specials. I have stopped back in and was pleasantly surprised at how good their Chicken Coconut Soup is. We arrived at the restaurant at 255pm. we were told the dinner menu already began even though we were seated before 3pm. My daughter ordered Chicken Ba-Mee which was horrible, the broth tasted like dishwater and the chicken tasted gamey and not fresh. I ordered Chicken and mixed vegetables. My chicken tasted terrible like my daughter's. my son ordered Pad-Thai which was average. My daughter's entree was removed from the bill but our bill still totaled over $40. The atmosphere was subpar and the bathrooms were dirty. We would never go there again. Go to Thai Town it is soon much better and of a higher quality. read more

First clue should have been the burning candles placed all over the restaurant. I should have turned around, walked out, but I had seen this place on a list of best restaurants in Dunedin in Delco....and so I wanted to try it and my pride wouldn't let me tell my party "Hey, never mind, lets go some place else..." It's a small restaurant, not the cleanest, but I'm willing to overlook that for great sushi. I ordered the pad thai as did the other wife in the party. My pad thai was just ok, but the shrimp were scary. I have no idea what was wrong with those shrimp, but I ate one and placed the rest on the outside of the rim. My husband ordered sushi. Now most of the time my husband can put away the sushi and he is never full when it comes to sushi...this sushi, he couldn't finish. I tried 3 of the 4 rolls, it was mediocre at best. There was something just off about it and I prefer to not even think about at this point. The other husband in the group got the pineapple-everything-but-the-kitchen-sink fried rice and they said that was great. I didn't try it. As for appetizers, the crab rangoons were definitely not what I was expecting, they had curry in them. They weren't bad, just not something I would want to go back for. And the spring rolls were heavily fried....so they tasted like anything heavily fried. This place is not good for kids. The other couple couldn't order milk for their kid and I guess juice wasn't available, so the kid got hot tea....it's just not a great place for kids ....and did I mention there are candles burning all over the restaurant???? Yeah, I thought I did. They got $120 from us and that will be all. I'd love to give it 2 stars, but no, I just can not do it. read more

Pretty good spot in dunedin for those vegetarians and vegans out there. I can eat at serendipity cafe only so many times. Got the lunch special: a simple salad with tasty honey mustard dressing and soup with lots of fresh veggies plus sweet n sour tofu with more fresh veggies and jasmine rice for $8. I'd come back next time I'm in town! One comment to mgmt would be to cut the veggies into smaller pieces. read more
