I was not going to leave a review but I am tired of being judged as less than just by looking at me. From the beginning, our server was pretty bad. Did not introduce himself, did not go over features, cuts of steak, other options etc... I have been to every steak house in the city several times and I have a high understanding of the process. I won't go over his many many other short comings. Someone tell buddy (maybe red head guy) with the 5pm table on Sunday 10/29 full of black people that the girl with the big hair and glasses is a Technical Program Manager at Adobe in the Digital Experience space. I came here for a celebratory dinner tonight. We made a reservation beforehand and was seated very quickly. For a Tuesday night, it was very busy. The interior design is very unique and a little retro, I enjoyed it a lot. Service was nice and our waiter was very attentive. I thought that he could have been a little more attentive though. The food was so yummy, we got oysters and the bacon as appetizers. I LOVED the bacon. So good. For the mains, we got Filet Mignon, Scallops, and the special Halibut dish. My Halibut was extremely dry, but I was able to switch it out for the Cod and it was so much yummier and the portion is HUMONGOUS for a $60 dish, it's definitely a dish that can be shared by 2-4 people. Went on a Friday early evening recently and it seemed we made reservations while a young professional convention was in town. That was fine but made for A LOT of background noise pollution. From the outside, this place doesn't look like much, but I audibly gasped when we walked inside. The pictures of the chandeliers I had seen online don't do it justice - the ambiance is so warm and the decor is so eclectic but tastefully done! We were seated in the back room at a booth and immediately ordered a few mezcal drinks, which were delicious. For my entree I ended up ordering the special (steak frites) with voodoo sauce, and I was incredibly satisfied. The steak was full of flavor, the fries were well done, and the voodoo sauce was *chefs kiss*. It's a bit pricey, but Town Hearth is a perfect place to go for a birthday dinner, anniversary, or other special occasion. I will definitely be back! read more

Sadly, I have to give this place a low score from a visit last night. The ambiance was gorgeous. The food was very good. The experience... ouch. The server at our table, Mario, asked for our full order be placed as is customary for the kitchen. He was given a kind but serious request to space our food so we would not feel rushed. He promised to do so. While ordering, I personally ordered 2 full side dishes due to dietary needs. For some reason, he suggested I might wish to "save money" by ordering a similar appetizer dish. I've never heard of a fine restaurant making that sort of suggestion. I ordered what I wanted instead of what he "suggested", but appreciated his concerns that the meal might be beyond our budget. Cocktails and the appetizer arrived in good order. The very second the last bite of carpaccio was inhaled and the wine was newly poured, the entrées were rushed to the table. Exactly what we tried to avoid and communicated! The server carelessly popped back over and my spouse reminded him of our request. Well tough sh** for us. The meal was there! He dismissed it with a weak apology, and it was downhill from there. We sat in disbelief, and eventually started eating. Cue a manager. Nothing is quite like having to stop the meal and explain the unpleasant circumstance to a manager. Another weak apology. Normal birthday dinner celebration conversation was replaced by frustration and disappointment. The food was good, but their need to rapidly churn us out of there was enough to turn us all off. We didn't even finish everything because of the unpleasant manner in which it was served. The server (who had decided to lie low thanks to our high expectations) came back to offer dessert. We normally enjoy having something sweet, but declined as our dining experience was disappointing. The server still brought crème brûlée because we were there to "celebrate". The full bill arrived and everything we ate and drank was accounted for. The dessert we didn't ask for was comped. We couldn't help but wonder if they thought we were difficult in an effort to have concessions made. That was not the case. Four hundred dollars for a table of three is within our budget if an establishment serves great food, offers great service and is mindful of their guests and the experience. While walking towards the door, the sommelier engaged in conversation with my husband. He thought it was a good idea (knowing all that transpired) to say it looked to him like everything went fine - insinuating the meal and service were spot on. Yeah, no. It was not his place to recap the evening and how we should feel about it. Never again. All three of us work in service industries. We know it's our responsibility to put the needs of clients first. We know to not argue with them, and to make corrections with grace. We know not to judge or make assumptions regarding what they can afford. We know not to be told everything was great when the experience was less than great. We won't be going back. We won't be suggesting Town Hearth or any Brass Ram establishments to the many people we encounter looking for suggestions. It's a shame to create such a beautiful place, serve up a great meal, but miss the mark with some very unpleasant service practices. read more

Came back a second time and had a really nice dinner. Got to try more things. The prime rib was delicious. Glad we were able to get one since they have a limited quantity every time. I had the Black Mamba cocktail and it was so good! We also tried the crab bucatini which I didn't really like since the pasta tasted a bit undercooked. However the Tot Oscar was delicious! Town Hearth was the first Dallas steakhouse I checked out. I didn't initially realize they were a part of the restaurant group that seems to dominate Dallas. Montlake Cut, Neighborhood Services and Perfect Union Pizza are also in their family. The decor was eye-catching from the moment I stepped inside. There are chandeliers everywhere, a huge fishtank and a classic Carin the restaurant. ..the car is also listed on the menu if you'd like to purchase. Service is top notch and the waiters are knowledgeable. Steaks are cooked properly with a nice char. The Ahí Tartare is one of my go to starters. It's delicious. Give it a try. Most everything I've tried has been very good. Reservations are strongly recommended. Add Town Hearth to your list of Dallas steakhouses to try. Let me know what you think. read more

Very Noisy and it felt crowded even though we were seated. The decor is unique and feels extravagant but it lacks every where else. We were there on a Friday night. We made a reservation about 2.5 weeks in advance. I think it's a great spot but there wasn't anything particularly special that would make me want to go back. We also felt a bit rushed. At times it was so noisy we couldn't hear each other at our table. Steak was great and the mushrooms were really good too. Drinks were good too. There's just wasn't anything particularly amazing that stood out on the food or anything, I would crave having again. read more

Hard pass. Ambience: Super weird. The place is priced like a high end steakhouse but has the atmosphere of a sports bar. They blast the radio station and have TVs in the bar along with a TON of people just hanging out in the hallways and walkways. Food: Actually pretty good, a little overpriced but the burger was pretty good, bucatini was tasty and the Brussel Sprouts were solid. Service: This was the worst part. Waiter started off good enough. Ordered some apps, oysters and entrees since he explained they take your whole order at one time which is fine. The problem is they brought EVERYTHING we ordered at the exact same time. This led to a bizarre experience where things are getting cold and I'm feeling rushed to scarf things down before it gets cold. Plus at this point the waiter makes himself absolutely scarce until it was time to pay the bill. Totally ruined the experience and super tacky for a restaurant of this price point. Outstanding food and service. We enjoyed a wonderful meal with another couple on Saturday night. Short wait for our reserved table but we received great service at the bar. Town Hearth features Dave Phinney's whiskeys and my beau and I tried two different cocktails and they were both delicious. Devil's Haircut was served with a luxardo cherry, a nice finishing touch. Apps: We ordered oysters (tasty mignonette, nice selection), a slab of thick cut bacon (fabulous) and a deconstructed wedge salad (very tasty). I ordered a petit filet and my beau ordered a Delmonico steak. Both were perfectly cooked and such generous servings were took home leftovers. Sides were creamed spinach and smashed potatoes with gravy, we all enjoyed them and took the leftovers home to enjoy with our steaks. We were too full to order desserts but they looked fabulous. Interior design is stunning although the room is quite loud, making conversations with our friends a challenge. This place is perfect for date nights but I recommend sitting close together so that you can talk with each other as you enjoy your dinner. read more

All of the food was absolutely amazing! We had the bone-in ribeye which melts in your mouth along with the fried 3.5 lb lobster that was service with sesame seeds and something like a spicy mayo. It seemed as if the lobster meat was never ending. For sides, we had the mac casserole and asparagus. Both were great, especially the mac casserole. We finished everything off with the 8-layer red velvet cake which was extremely moist but a bit cold. The champagne upon entry was a nice touch. The decor was upscale but vibrant. Cool aesthetic with the open hearth wood oven and the vintage car memorabilia and chandeliers The food run down: Oysters -- 4/5. Great oysters but I think it's hard to give oysters 5 stars. Not much actual prep or creativity Prime rib -- 5/5. I've never had bone on prime rib served in this way. It had a terrific Smokey taste from the wood oven. Served with a horseradish and au jus. My favorite dish by far. Really big as well. My girlfriend and I couldn't finish it. Mac and cheese caseole -- 5/5. Like the prime rib this had a wonderful Smokey note to it. Yummy! Creamed spinach--5/5. The best creamed spinach I've had. This version sticks to simple, fresh tasting ingredients vs random additives (looking at you ham laden spinach at Pappas) The Elvis--5/5. Peanut butter and banana greatness. Pro tip: valet parking is free (do tip your valet though) My one complaint about this place was that whoever manned the phone for reservations was kind of rude. I fell in love with the ambiance and décor right when I stepped in the restaurant. With chandeliers adorning the majority of the restaurant ceiling, this place is definitely a show-stopper. They also have a fish tank in the restaurant as well as a classic convertible in the restaurant. All are very nice touches for a high-end restaurant that Town Hearth boasts itself to be. I've been a couple times and I will say this is not a place you come to for a regular weeknight dinner as it costs a pretty penny. I have come for special occasions and the service does not disappoint. This is not my favorite steak house in Dallas but they definitely have good food. For appetizers, I have tried the tot poutine which was tasty. The carpaccio au Poivre was fresh and the horseradish cream that accompanied the dish was delicious. The sliced Hamachi was also very fresh and the yuzu vinaigrette had great flavors. They also had a special on their fried lobster tail appetizer which was super meaty and tasty, but at $109 each, it definitely puts a huge dent in your wallet. Their traditional sides are all pretty good, nothing too special about them. They're good for sharing with the table. I've tried the Battle Axe as it was a recommended dish and yes, it was good but was it worth $139? I don't think so. I've definitely had better steak for cheaper elsewhere. Nonetheless, it was juicy and tender but some parts of the meat were super fatty and we had to eat around a lot of it. I have also had the Berkshire Pork Chop which was decent. It came butterflied which made the pork chop super thin and reminded me more of a skirt steak rather than a meaty pork chop. Overall, this place has good food but you will need to splurge in order to truly enjoy what it has to offer. It is worth trying for a special occasion or if you have the money to drop a few hundred on a casual dinner. read more

I can't say enough about the staff. Personable, knowledgeable, and excellent at what they do. The bourbon bacon is a show stopper. A typical steakhouse with a chic decor meant to appease millennials and dazzle the boomers. They really like motorcycles and old race cars, cause theyre plastered everywhere here. I ordered the tomahawk ribeye medium rare, and it was underwhelming. Not sure why it was underwhelming but I wasn't excited while eating it. At the same time, theres no way I could have asked the waiter to improve it. It came out medium rare as I requested. I can only assume the source of the steak is legit. Maybe it was the lack of a crust on the outside or any compound butter to go on top, but I felt like something was sorely missing. Got mac and cheese with it, which was what I at least expected in terms of cheesiness and creaminess. Their salads are a little overdressed, as it came out soggier than I like. I did like the taste of the dressing itself though. I had high hopes for this place, but they didnt go above and beyond with anything I ordered. Youre better off going to Nick and Sams, unless you really want atmosphere over food experience. read more

I really enjoyed the cote de beouf and it was a great steak to share for two and even three people. It was so tender and flavorful. I really also enjoyed the thick cut bacon, super smoky and sweet but not too sweet. Y'all! Have you been to Town Hearth!? This place is phenomenal. There is nothing sub par or even average about this restaurant. From the decor, to the service, to the food, cocktails, wine, staff, uniforms, cleanliness, everything was perfect. I have not been this impressed with a restaurant in many years. There doesn't seem to be single a menu item which is less than stellar. The deep thought and time put into the recipes and plating is obvious. The menu items which include crab have huge amounts of crab, you won't be disappointed. Our server Tim was impeccable. His greeting, menu explanation and drink suggestions, banter, timing, bussing... really every aspect was perfect. Wow, I am thoroughly impressed. The food and ambiance is great. The vibe is great, it's eclectic but it's loud. We like to go there for a celebratory meal. I will say that the last couple of attempts to eat there, we had reservations and still ended up with quite the wait (30-45 minutes) which is my cut off for going somewhere else. So while I can't say how long I would have waited on those nights, there are other great steak joints in the area with much better reputations and far better customer service. Shout out to Al Biernats for saving us 2 times and nick and Sam's the other. My experience with Town Hearth, once you get seated is that the staff and menu are great, but at the point in which you plan to drop $200 or more per person on dinner, you'd expect the establishment to plan as much as the patrons do when trying to have a special night. read more

So a couple of my friends/fellow board members chose this place from a list that one of their friends gave them as places to eat while in Dallas. We all literally just got off the plane, checked in, and then caught an Uber to Town Hearth. Town Hearth is located in a retail corridor and seems to be hidden. Once we got there, the outside looked like any other restaurant. But that all changes when you open the doors. Seeing inside the restaurant is part of the experience. At first, it can be a little overwhelming, with all the decor, especially the chandeliers (I think we were told that there were close to 80 in the building). Then there is a huge fish tank, with a submarine and all sizes of fish. And then there are the walls with race pictures and decor! At our table, we had steaks, fish, and lots of side dishes. And all of it was amazing!!!! The service was outstanding! The experience and meal added to the great company and conversation for the night. read more

We had been warned that they try to rush you through service and unfortunately, that was the case. It felt like from the second we sat down, our waiter wanted us to leave. This place is great for a special occasion, if you splurge you won't regret it... the inside is awesome, we got a drink at the bar while we waited for our table and you can hangout by the submarine so we didn't mind. 2 of us split these & it was plenty: - iceberg wedge salad with Russian dressing which was good but there was way too much dressing, I should have asked for a balsamic, but it was nice they split it into 2 plates for us! - 8oz mignon medium rare which was very good but a little too rare for us - wood roasted lobster for $135 and it was so so so so good. We were celebrating a birthday so we went all out and it was the best lobster I've ever had Our waiter Ben was really great, and to top it off we got a complimentary chocolate cake. So I was stood up for a Friday night at a neighborhood bar..... I decided to take myself out to for a drink and app before heading home to block the person on all communication tools. I drive by Town Hearth and remember it's on my list to try. From the valet to the bartenders to the regulars to the food I was not disappointed. Drinks: I sat at the bar because it was a Friday night at 7pm. Each bartender introduced themselves and asked about my food allergies. I ordered the "Life Gives you Lemons" to cheer myself up. It was completely refreshing. I finished with the "Jus Mezzin' Round" and loved every drop. Craft drinks were perfect and the bartenders were attentive. Food: The fried brussels were delicious and I loved the honey mustard glaze. I would have licked the plate LOL. The star was the Hot Buttered Crab Bucatini. Nothing like fresh pasta and a well made sauce. I asked for bread to soak up the sauce. Atmosphere: It got busier by the minute. We always meant to return but then the pandemic hit and eating out go much more difficult. Well we were finally able to return and it was spectacular! I wasn't sure if the food would stack up to the phenomenal decor but it actually surpassed it. We will definitely be back. It was probably one of the top 10 meals we have ever had.
