This one is the best Italian restaurant I've eaten in Boston. I recommend to share the Antipasti. As a main dish, we had the tagliatelle carbonara and the eggplant and chicken parmigiana and it was delicious. Excellent restaurant... Staff was very friendly as we got there at 6 PM on a Saturday night caprese salad only had 4 small slices of fresh mozzarella but waiter brought over extra which was nice. Halibut and shrimp main course was excellent and the chef prepared one or two things for the kids that weren't necessarily on the menu which was great. Definitely need waitstaff help as food needs to be carried down the stairs and I could tell that the tables that were sitting down after us we're waiting a long time for service but you have to wait for good food :-). One bit of advice would be for the restaurant to have kids cups for water as I think it is important to promote yourself to families as well and that would make me come back to this restaurant quicker... don't get me wrong I'm not asking for crayons and the kids menu... That would be sac religious..... can we meet in the middle and get kids cups? :-) Overall a great restaurant at a very reasonable price definitely worth going to read more

I chose TreMonte for dinner after checking the menu online and seeing so many tasty-sounding choices. I had the littleneck clams as an appetizer....delish! The red sauce was light and flavorful. However, the star of the show was my entree, gemeli sausage rabe with pasta. The dish was incredible, simple, fresh and very flavorful. I assume the pasta was homemade. I washed everything down with the house red which was surprisingly good. I sat at the bar and didn't see the entire restaurant, however, what I saw was very clean and rustic-modern looking. It was a bit noisy there, but that only added to its homey feeling. The bartender, who was also my waiter, was so nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. I highly recommend this place. read more

Went to TreMonte last night and we were blown away! This is a true gem and a great addition to the plethora of great North End Restaurants. Located off the crazy busy Hanover Street, on a more subdued Salem St. we made a reservation for 5, arrived early and warmly welcomed by Reed. We elected to sit at the bar as we had time before the concert! The bartender, sorry, never heard your name, was warm and accommodating and did not rush us. After a couple drinks, complemented by wonderful homemade bread and delicious Olive Oil, I ordered the tortellini with caramelized onion and prosciutto in a cream sauce. All I can say is wow!! The sweet onions with the prosciutto were amazing... like scrape the bowl delicious! My husband ordered the pork chops. Ok can I tell you, they were amazing! Perfectly cooked and juicy, in a wonderful sauce with potatoes. Pork can be tricky, but they prepared it beautifully. Oh and did I say they portion was huge!! Two pork chops, at least 12 oz each!!! Amazing value at $22! Needless to say, we brought home one full pork chop and enjoying it for dinner tonight. From the atmosphere, to the very friendly and courteous staff, to The amazing food, I can tell you this has taken over my #1 favorite in the North End, which is not easy as I take my rankings very seriously. I recently went to TreMonte because I had a friend from out of town in. We wanted to try out a new restaurant and boy, did this place deliver! We started out with mussels for an app which were delicious, and each had our own entree. The entrees were both so delicious. We came recently based on the reviews here. I was disappointed. Best parts: the bread was excellent. Really among the best we have had. The waiter was attentive and tried to help in every way. Not so great: All of the dishes were just so so. Nothing really was beyond ordinary. We had ordered the baked haddock and shrimp. The dish came with a large portion of baked haddock and 2 small shrimp. Two of us ordered the dish and each was the same and the presentation was very blah. None of the other dishes ordered stood out. With so many choices in the north end, we won't be back. And although the atmosphere was quiet, I did not enjoy facing a large screen tv while eating. I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant little less than a month ago and since then I haven't been able to stop thinking about how amazing the food was. Hands down, the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. I had the butternut squash ravioli and it was the most delicious thing I've ever tasted. The flavors were so rich and had a clear homemade taste. I have had the yelp app for years but this is my first review ever cause I couldn't resist with how outstanding this food was (goes to say how amazing this restaurant is). Visited on a Fri night, only one other couple in the restaurant when we arrived and was kind of nervous when other restaurants in the area had a lot more people in them. Its unfortunate...this place is AMAZING! Had the butternut squash, chicken parm, meatball appetizer, and another pasta dish with red sauce. Rob greeted us nicely and within a few moments we had oven warmed bread at our table and shortly there after, the food started flowing. One of the better Italian meals we've had in quite awhile and I've dined in Italy. If in the area, dont feel like you have to go to the tourist traps--Tre Monte is as good as it gets and go support an establishment that deserves it by its excellent service and good food! read more

I have been to TreMonte 5 times and tried something different each time. My favorite is the butternut squash ravioli and penne pink. On my last visit I tried the filet mignon which was so delicious and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is great and love the two tables near the window especially in the warmer weather when they are opened up. Jenn and Nick have been my servers and they are both friendly and always have good recommendations. We will be coming to TreMonte very often to enjoy a delicious meal. read more

My husband, daughter and I went for lunch during St Anthony's Feast today & I have to say what a great meal we had. I've been to the Woburn location many times & Boston is just as good if not better. We had 2 drinks, 2 apps & shared an entree along with some side pasta for my daughter. Our bill was under $90, there was so much food we took some home & we got to sit in the front window that was open to all the festivities! We also got the amazing breeze! And the service was top notch. Our server was Rob & he couldn't do enough to make sure our time there was enjoyable. We can't wait to go back for a date night sometime soon. Service was horrible. We waited 15 minutes to be seated with a reservation and our another 30 for our order to be taken. The girl working was never even apologetic for the understaffed service and seemed bothered that she was having to wait on us. Our server barely checked in on us and was a complete ditz. We asked for balsamic with our bread and she never brought so we had to ask again when she brought another basket of bread while we waited 45 minutes for our food to come. when the food finally came, it was mediocre and definitely not worth the wait and bad service. read more
