We decided to come here for lunch and got immediately seated. The place was full but we got lucky that we got a table. We thought that we would be sharing our table because it was pretty large for a party of 3. Surprisingly, we never had to. Daughter ordered the shakshuka which is 3 poached eggs in spicy tomato sauce, sautéed peppers and onions, finished with goat cheese and cilantro. It's also served with sour cream and toasted ciabatta bread. She liked it and thought it was extremely flavorful. It was a little spicy, which was just the way she liked it. Hubs ordered the Tuscany, which has roasted red peppers, baby spinach, chopped sausage and fresh mozzarella. He enjoyed the omelette because of the roasted red peppers and spinach. Lastly, I had cannoli pancakes, which are 3 chocolate chip pancakes topped with cannoli cream, powdered sugar and a mini cannoli. Hubs thought that this was the best entree of the three. We ordered the maple syrup and were charged extra for that. We normally wouldn't mind the extra charge because we assumed it would be a mini bottle for us to use. What we objected to was that we were given a community jug and hubs is a germaphobe. We ended up not using the jug because we didn't realize that my entree was sweet enough but we wasted money for spending it on a community jug. Pretty big breakfast restaurant with a lot of breakfast options, and some lunch. Came in on a weekday so it wasn't overly busy but the service was something to be desired. The restaurant has an open kitchen so you can see the food. Unfortunately the staff was more worried about refilling the sugar packets than getting food out to the tables. Eventually one of the waitresses rallied the servers but there was no initiative. Most of the staff looked like high school or college kids. The food is consistently good, service is good and the atmosphere is styled like all the others, welcoming and warm. I went here for Sunday brunch and got the unlimited coffee, roadhouse bacon stack, lemon blueberry pancakes, and the Nashville hot chicken wrap. I heard a lot of great reviews of the turning point but for me the food was disappointing and underwhelming. The roadhouse bacon stack tasted how it looked - some bacon between 3 lightly toasted pieces of bread. Really nothing special. The lemon blueberry pancakes had hardly any lemon flavor at all and it lacked any real flavor. The Nashville hot chicken wrap was not 'hot' or spicy at all, more like a sweet teriyaki taste.. The saving grace was the service, we had a great waiter who made sure we had everything we needed - hot sauce, refills on coffee and water. During Sunday brunch, my party of 2 took 30 mins to get seated. It seems like a long time but once you give your name to the hostess, you can walk over to Home Goods and Marshalls and they'll text you once the tables ready. Very disappointed on Monday , January 29, 2024. Waitress took our order, and with some changes and specifications. One order came of eggs came out incorrectly. Waitress took back the eggs, apologized and said they will correct it. While waiting, we noticed that the English muffin had butter on it, which was specifically said, No Butter, slightly toasted but butter and jelly on the side. She took that back and again with a smile brought back another English muffin. While all this was going on the Other customer was slowly eating her food, which at this time getting cold. The manager did come over at our request and after explaining to him the situation did comp the one meal. The menu has a good amount of options for both breakfast and lunch items. I ordered the Wilbur Skillet with sourdough bread which was good! The place with the fireplace is always warm and inviting. Since I wanted a healthy start to the New Year (been having one too many milk teas and my waistline is paying for it), I scan the menu for something light. The Mini Crossfit Kale Omelet (egg whites, kale, broccoli, mushrooms, caramelized onions with a side of three thinly sliced turkey bacon strips and one Power 7 Grain Wheat flapjack) caught my eye. My 19 year old son shutters at my "HEALTHY" choice. The words diet and health food has never been uttered when I was growing up. We always ate what we wanted but in moderation. To my surprise, everything was tasty and seasoned well. Healthier dishes can taste good. I especially enjoyed the wheat pancake with rolled oats. We had an apple from an appetizer and I sliced some onto my pancake. I have OCD so my eyes be bugging at all the dishwasher stains on the mugs, glassware, pitchers, utensils. The edge of table was sticky too. There was even syrup on one the menus. Thus the less 1-star rating. Our server, Erin, was super friendly and attentive. The waitlist was 50-75 min on a Sunday around 10:45. So I joined then my boyfriend and I arrive about an hour later. We only had to wait 5 minutes for our table but it did take 5-10 minutes for our server to come over and greet us. But he was super kind and thanked us for our patience. We first asked for new silverware because ours was a bit crusty and still dirty. Our waiter apologized immediately and brought us a new set. My boyfriend wanted the cinnamon apple French toast but instead of French toast to substitute it with waffles. Our waiter made it possible. I got the southern shrimp skillet. My boyfriend also got a small milk with a side of bacon. They had ran out of small cups but our server brought over a full large cup and only charged us for a small. My boyfriend loved his waffles. He said the walnuts really complimented the apple and cinnamon. My shrimp skillet was super filling because there is so many potatoes. There were at least 6 shrimp in my dish which I thought was a decent amount. The corn bread was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. However, there wasn't much of a corn taste. When we got the bill we realized our server did not charge us for the side of bacon either. The food was pretty good here but what really made our experience great was our waiter. The Turning Point, a Manalapan staple for so many years! I have to say we took a big hiatus from Turning Point. I guess we just got burnt out from being there too much. But .... it's game on now! With an updated menu and consistently great food, you can never go wrong with this place. The waits are what really kept us away. I say always be strategic on when you want to visit. 10am on Father's Day might not be a great idea, so we got there at 830am and for a party of 2 were seated right away. Mike was our server and he was amazing. As busy as he was, he made sure we had everything we needed and more. I always love the Tropical Crunch Waffle and hubby adores their Avocado Artisan Toast and he adds scrambled eggs on top! Yum! But there are so many favorites over the years, i can go on and on. I don't think I've ever has a bad meal there since they opened. So if you haven't been to Turning Point, give it a shot. Ask for Mike and enjoy your meal! And they have locations all over New Jersey. If you're looking for an eggcelent breakfast/brunch location, you should definitely try Turning Point! My friend and I met there at 9 AM on a Sunday morning, and there was plenty of parking in the plaza. The restaurant itself was very inviting with rustic decor, and the tables were appropriately spaced far apart. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and although there were already a good amount of people in the restaurant, we were seated immediately. I ordered the avocado smash benny (eggs benedict with smashed avocado) and my friend got the make your own omelet with feta cheese, spinach, and mushrooms. The eggs in the avocado smash benny were poached to perfection and the avocado and tomato tasted very fresh. However, the potatoes were a little cold and, unfortunately, not as crispy as I would have liked. They kindly accommodated my request for no bacon and overall, the food looked tasty and the portion size was sufficient. The poached eggs definitely stood out in this dish, with their eggcitingly round and cute appearance! My friend's omelet was pretty big and had the same potatoes. She said it was delicious and finished the omelet in one sitting. I would definitely come back again because of the extensive menu, and I wouldn't get bored of this restaurant because of the wide variety of choices. This is a breakfast place. If you come here, You should order breakfast food. Don't do what I did and order from the limited selection of lunch offerings. This restaurant is in a similar class to First Watch and Le Peep where it's a higher end brunch place where there's generally a wait for a table, but once you're sat down, the service is pretty quick. This restaurant does do a good job by having a Yelp waitlist, though you should expect to wait for some length of time once you arrive at the restaurant and check in. Breakfast-wise, this place has everything you would expect, eggs, pancakes, avacado toast, and the like. They also have some lunch entrees, which based on the turnkey Cuban sandwich I ordered, I don't recommend. To me, the bread seemed borderline stale, barely toasted, and overall lacking in flavor. But as I said, think of this as a breakfast place. If you plan on going in to order breakfast food, you'll be fine. read more

Wow! This place is undeniably amazing. First and foremost, there's plenty of parking, which I love. The place is decorated super cute and has a traditional colonial feel to it. I came in on a Sunday at 9:30AM and got lucky enough to be seated right away (SCORE!). As far as the food, everything was not only delicious, but also beautifully presented. I had the clam chowder along with avocado toast, and both tasted so good! My friend really enjoyed her meal too, which had perfectly poached eggs that looked fantastic. I took some to go food and even after the half hour drive home, my boyfriend still really enjoyed his meal. I love this place and everything about it from the decor, to the food, to the service. Taking a star off, this establishment has gotten comfortable. They no longer serve bread with their salads. Cutting corners. So they stopped serving bread with their salads. And why shouldn't they. You can't get a seat here without waiting whether they serve the bread or not. This place has a consistent crowd because of their reputation of great quality food and ingredients. But seriously I cannot think of one other place that doesn't serve bread with their salad. Even Saladworks and Panera offer bread with their salad. Boo Turning Point. How much money are you saving here??? I enjoy eating here, but I'm starting to see changes. Small things. No more fruit cup with your meal. No more bread with salads. My Martha's Vineyard salad used to come with big chunks of mango. Now they dice the mango into tiny squares. So small I really don't taste them. But I can see them in there. But the flavor of these tiny squares gets lost in the salad with the larger strawberries and blueberries. Plus the soups aren't as super delicious as they used to be. Make no mistake, this is still one of the better brunch places in the area. But now it's 4 stars, not 5 stars. And it's a shame. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. They do not take reservations but they do "hold a table" for you if you call and have one held for a specific time. The waitress was great, very attentive and polite. The food was delicious. I had the pancake flight and my companion had gotten the big easy benedict bowl. The restaurant seems to be popular as it was crowded ( Saturday brunch) but the food came out in a timely manner and was still warm at serving. Tucked away next to Wegmans I recommend this place for breakfast because of the location and the polite staff. I called ahead and was able to make a reservation on a Sunday morning. We were seated as soon as we arrived. Ordered the shrimp omelette and this would have been perfection had the shrimp been seasoned and not watery which caused my omelette to be watery (perhaps they defrost and add).
