This is a very small shop next to the tattoo and barbershop on harbor boulevard. I came here while my bf was getting a tattoo. They have plenty of options, but was recommended the Ubus by the artist at the shop. I decided to get a crab meat and a salmon one. The girl at the front was very nice and patient with me while I decided what I wanted. The Ubus came out pretty quick in a cute packaging with napkins and chopsticks. My favourite was the crab meat one but the salmon was also very good with some seasoning that was absorbed by the rice on the bottom making it very tasty! I would highly recommend the Ubus as a quick snack or meal.
Located in downtown Fullerton, parking could be a little bit challenging during busy times. This place is small with limited seatings, and you place your order at the counter before finding a table. We tried the five piece yubu special, which was fine, but nothing stood out. They also offer self serve ramen, cupbab, nigiri, snacks, and more but we didn't see anything on the menu that would draw us back for another visit.
Ordered through the Yelp app from here. I was having a late lunch and had dinner plans and tried a chicken teriyaki ubu and a salmon ubu. Each one was $7.19 and they were good but not filling. I would recommend this for a light snack where you leave feeling like you respected your body's wishes for not overeating or eating junk food on your lunch break. It delicious and it's just enough, but for $7.19 you could get more elsewhere, especially if you're feeling super hungry. Parking is located behind the store, but you have to walk all the way around to the front of the store to enter. There's no entrance in the back. This place also sells Asian or Korean & Japanese snacks and they have ramen stations where you can buy a pack of ramen noodles and make it right there in the store.
We ordered the 5-piece special -- fresh salmon, eel, two spicy tuna, and crab -- and everything was super fresh! Honestly one of the ubu I've tried in SoCal. We also got the bulgogi sandwich and wow... total hidden gem! So flavorful and surprisingly filling. The staff were super nice too. We opted to grab spam musubi and onigiri on the way out because of how nice they were. Can't wait to try it at home! Can't wait to come back and try the ramen self-serve bar and tteokbokki next time. Ubu Ubu is definitely a new fave spot!
Really enjoyed this small spot off Harbor blvd. The 5 for $25 Inari deal was really attractive and everything tasted so good! We shared the Eel, tuna, and buldak chicken inari, they were pretty huge. Five pieces were more than enough for 2 people to share. The eel was definitely the standout, melts in your mouth. The instant ramen selection is quite extensive. It's fun to pick out your own and use the cooker to make your own, my wife liked that a lot. There's limited seating, so it may get a little crowded, but lunchtime wasn't too bad. Will definitely come back for more!
This place was delicious! My friends and I stopped by here after going Axe throwing next door. We were all pretty hungry and were delighted to find a yummy looking restaurant within walking distance. It seems to be a new(ish) spot & family owned. The cashier was really nice and what seemed to be either the owner/ manager was very nice too. He was very smiley & accommodating. It does take a little bit for the food to come out but my friends and I were busy talking to really notice. The wait was worth it though, the food was so good! I've never had yubu before but I was pleasantly surprised with how flavorful and savory it was! I definitely recommend the eel yubu! So so good
Very pricey for pretty average yubu. $6 each meaning 2 rice pockets costs almost as much as a chipotle bowl (with guac lol). The spicy meat toppings are actually pretty spicy. But the meat quality could be better. Rice to topping ratio was disappointing especially for $6 each I expected more.
Just checked out Ubu Ubu in downtown Fullerton - a small cute shop next to the pub. The staff and owner were super nice, explaining their menu and how carefully they prepare their dishes, especially the tteokbokki. This place is perfect for sharing different dishes with friends. I got the ramyun, spicy buldak onigiri, tamago and salmon ubu. The ramyun is cooked right at the store, and goes perfectly with the ubu and onigiri!! The ubu had this nice smoky taste with a slightly sweet flavor that worked really well together. I'll definitely come back to try their tteokbokki!
Happy Soft Grand Opening! Walked in and was greeted with friendly faces. They have snacks and ice cream for sale. They have hot water dispensers for pre-packaged ramen. They have some "to-go" items to grab if you're on the run. The inside was clean, but very little seating. All of the "bombs" (as I call them) were super tasty. The spicy tuna had just enough kick, the bulgogi tasted freshly bbq'd, the lemon salmon was tart, but sweet...every bite had meat and rice in it. I can't wait to come back and try more. read more

Ubu Ubu is located right in Downtown Fullerton. The storefront is pretty unassuming, but I loved the concept where it's essentially taking after the instant ramen section of convenience stores in Korea. Essentially, you can pick your instant ramen pack and make it yourself using the ramen machine (for the buldak where you drain the water after, the workers will drain it for you. There were also a lot of fun Korean canned drinks as well and other small bites (ubu where it's tofu skin with a topping and rice and onigiri). Workers were also extremely nice! read more

Today was their first official day they are open and the staff is really nice and explained the soft opening is 25% entire menu for the entire month. I would classify this somewhere between a sit down restaurant and a convenience store cause most of the stuff are already made before hand to accommodate the fast pace of life and easy to grab a go. I didn't take a picture of the ubu display because it was already near end of day so there won't be too much waste but I was still able to order from the full menu. I got these ubu: crab meat with chimichurri sauce, creamy spicy tuna, eel, bulgogi, and sukiyaki beef. I also got a fishcake kimbob. The food overall was good quality being that a few of the items I chose which was on display so I can't determine what time of day the ubu or kimbob may have been made. Some of them hold out flavor wise better than others. The imitation crab meat with chimichurri sauce was pretty good. The bulgogi and sukiyaki were our favorites overall and the kimbob was ok so definitely. Will definitely come back to take advantage of the soft opening deal since it's cheaper than the other place I've tried and this is closer to home. Soft opening so there's a little discount going. Overall the food was good, there was one customer in the business besides me and my friend and we waited a little over 30 minutes for this. I frankly am not sure what took so long as they had all the ingredients and were just putting them on top but it was like a lot longer of a wait than expected. The creamy tuna was my personal favorite the only thing is these little things are served cold and it's extremely messy to eat because no plates are offered so you're just eating out of this tray. They also give you the cheapest chopsticks ever so there's just wood specks falling off as your eating. The service was nice though. Besides that they do run out of the sandwiches and onigiris and some kimbap they offer so be sure to arrive in a timely manner. Once again it is soft opening so i'm assuming they are getting used to pace and all - we will give them another try. read more
The inari's are delicious and perfect for a little snack. It's located in downtown fullerton, along with a bunch of coffee shops so I enjoy coming here as a little study break sometimes. They used to have a ramen making station with a large selection of ramen & kimbap, but it was gone the last I came. I was told they switched ownership recently so they no longer have that. I believe they also have a 15% student discount but I'm not sure if that has changed as well. read more

Despite the # of stars, the service was still great. The # of stars is for how long we had to wait for our order. I think it took about 20 mins for 3 pieces and then another 10 mins for our tteokbokki and spam/tamago musubi. (They did warn us they had to make more musubis though) We ordered more musubis to take home and we waited more than 20 mins though so if you can preorder, def do that Friends said the spicy tuna was a little fishy though so probably wouldn't recommend but we really liked the spicy chicken (buldak) one! It was a pretty good amount of protein but i wish it had just a little bit more. I've tried multiple different stores and I'm not sure if I'd come back to this one for their inari but would definitely come back for their musubi. Would want to try their onigiri too! read more

I came here for lunch because I thought they had kimbap, but they don't have it anymore lol. Instead of kimbap, they sell yubus. It's also one of those places where you can pick a pack of instant ramen and cook it there. It's pretty cool tbh and places like this where you cook instant ramen and eat there are trendy now. I think it's because those videos where people eat at Korean convenience stores are going viral haha. At first, I was only going to try the yubus. They were really good - I'm glad they had these instead of kimbap. I had the crab meat ubu, the creamy spicy tuna ubu, and the fresh salmon ubu. The fish was very fresh and delicious. And they pile the fish on so much too. I liked all three so much that I can't choose a favorite. The prices are a little higher than at Atoyubu, and they have less variety. But I think that Ubu Ubu yubus are just as good if not better. If anything, I like the sashimi ones better than at Atoyubu because Ubu Ubu gives you more fish. Also there's much less of a wait. I couldn't resist also trying an instant ramen too. I picked out a Cream Carbonara Buldak ramen with a raw egg as a topping. The lady working there was so nice and helped me use the machine to cook my ramen. She gave me advice on how to best cook the carbonara and even drained the water for me. The cream carbonara Buldak ramen was very yummy. It was spicy and creamy and the raw egg made it even creamier. I will say that all the ramen packets are $7 here, which I think is high because you can go to Hmart or any store and buy the same thing for like $1-2. I don't think eating it in the store really added much. Sure, you can add toppings but you have to pay extra for the toppings too hahaha. It was fun though, so maybe that's the appeal? And they did give me a free drink on the house so maybe it was kinda worth it. I lowkey might pay for it again though hahaha it really was fun. And the yubus are really good. read more

Very delicious and great customer service. This is a small place that is tidy and has ramen, chips, drinks, and frozen items displayed. I ordered 5 Inari (bulgogi, eel, salmon, spicy tuna, and crab) and they were all super good! Our favorites were the eel and bulgogi. I also ordered a teriyaki chicken onigiri and a buldak bowl. All items are well seasoned, nicely textured, and filling. I also got a Calpico to drink which I can truly appreciate with any meal. The order was ready in a span of 5-10mins. A cute spot for a quick meal or a grab & go snack. It's located in downtown Fullerton so parking can be tricky during peak hours but there are a few lots behind the store. We picked up a roll of bulgogi kimbap, an egg sandwich, and ordered two ubus: salmon & creamy tuna. The kimbap was decent (7/10), didn't wow me & was a little pricier imo; the egg sando was dry (5/10), but both ubus were delicious (9/10). Went here for the first time and tried their pork teriyaki ubu. It was a delicious little pocket of teriyaki pork, rice, ginger, and onion wrapped in tofu skin. All together it was a great mix of sweet and savory from the teriyaki and tangy from the ginger. It was a bit expensive for the lil pocket at $5.99 for one, plus tax adding to $6.45. But the flavors were delicious and they had many other options and flavors. My friend has gone previously and said she really enjoyed their "cupbabs." Would love to come to try some of their other products. They had a variety of Korean conscience store snacks, drinks, and ramen packs you could make in store and add toppings as well as premade food like the ubu, onigiri, and spam musubi. U-bu U-bu: So good they named it twice. The Teriyaki Ubu was so good, I'm convinced it's the reason the chicken crossed the road--to get into my mouth. Perfectly tender with a sauce so addictive, I considered asking for an IV drip. Then came the Creamy Tuna Ubu. I had my doubts, but it was like a sushi roll got cozy in a cloud. as a CSUF student, i've been to ubu ubu a few times now. it's super close to CSUF & fullerton college located in downtown fullerton and serves the most delicious ubus! the seasoning on the rice is so, so delicious and they torch the tofu pocket which gives it this extra yummy taste. their salmon is super fresh too and not fishy at all! i've also had their budalk chicken onigiri which was yummy as well but more on the sweeter side on mondays/tuesdays they do buy 1 get 1 free on their musubis and onigiri i believe which is a great deal! ubus are a little on the pricier side ($5.99) compared to other places like yabuya but it's worth every penny to me and i'll continue to be a returning customer read more

One day, on my way home from work, I bought a few UBUs for my kids, and since then, they often call me to bring some home after work. The kids love them, and I enjoy eating them too. UBU is large in size and very tasty, so for someone like me, two are enough to make a satisfying lunch. My kids particularly love the creamy salmon UBU and bulgogi UBU, while I prefer the eel UBU. This review is purely for their soft opening, and I sincerely hope that if I do get to visit again in the future, it will have improved! Came here at the recommendation of a friend. The good was that the food was mostly solid in serving side. Price wasn't unreasonable, but with their soft opening discount of 25% off the total purchase, i feel like it was fairly reasonable. Despite the friendly service and staff, I was a bit ticked off by how long everything took. I swear we waited over 30 minutes to get a single order of yubu. I saw everybody else that came after us get their orders but ours seemed to take forever. Then I went up to the counter to double check on our order, and I think the girl who took it misread the receipt and thought we had ordered like 3 other yubus. It was even more annoying because I knew that specific one was ready and out for a while before we went up to ask at the counter, so I left with a bitter taste in my mouth. I think it would have helped if they at least apologized for the wait before we went up to say something. And honestly I don't understand why it took so long for them to complete the orders between two people. Secondly, it was impossible to find a decent spot to wait for our order with other people getting in line to order and wait around for their orders. I wish that was more clearly marked so we stay out of the way. The entire establishment layout is very long and narrow, so I know it's not easy, but it felt a bit chaotic. Like I said, it would have been helpful if there was at least signage or something to tell us "line up here" or "wait here to pick up" Anyway, I think it's fun to just stop by for a quick snack or meal on the go, just for the vibes. Finally, I visited the trending Yubu restaurant. The Lemon Yubu is refreshing and zesty, while the Spicy Chicken Yubu is flavorful without being too spicy--perfect for kids. The Bulgogi Yubu and Sukiyaki Yubu are sweet and delicious, ideal for children, and the Eel Yubu was tasty without being too rich. Since I'm on a diet, I opted for the Keto Kimbap, which was light and satisfying. This is a restaurant the whole family can enjoy. We also tried the Hangang Ramen. It's easy to cook and comes in a mild version for kids, while adults can enjoy the spicier option. We all had a great time. For dessert, we had the Pangpare Ice Cream, which I highly recommend. TL;DR Delicious crafted tofu skin rice balls, kimbap, and sweet/savory sandos with bonus mini convenience store area for ramen and drinks. We were looking for a quick lunch when we came by this place. They have yubu, kimbap, tonkatsu sandwich, as well as various Korean ramen packets that you can cook directly on the bowl which they call Hangang Ramen. I've seen this on the Korean variety show, so I was pretty excited to try this. Between two people, we got the ramen, kimbap, and two yubus. All of them were pretty fresh, and I loved that you can get a fresh ramen under 3 min. I also recommend the salmon yubu if you like poke. The place just opened so everything was super clean and nice, and the cashier was super friendly and helpful when I asked her about how to use the ramen machine. There's also a side section that has chips, ice cream and drink, kinda like a convenience store so if you are looking for a quick place to get lunch, I recommend this place! I'd come again. read more

The employees were kind and helpful. My husband messed up making his instant noodles and they were gracious and gave him a new bowl. I liked the chicken teriyaki but I LOVED the tofu skin itself. Great flavor and texture! The seaweed salad was a nice addition too. I wanted to try the kimbap as well, but there are no labels that tell you what time the kimbap was made, so it's hard to tell how fresh they are. I'll probably steer clear of those for now but will definitely be back to try more yubu! read more

Delicious! I didn't want to have to go all the way to Ktown or Irvine for 유부초밥(yubuchobap) so I'm glad this place opened up in Fullerton. I tried the salmon, spicy pork, & eel. The owner was super nice and friendly, and offered us some free drinks! The location is a bit hidden, but it's really close to the public parking lot so check it out. My friend and I checked out this spot to catch up, and I'd say the ambiance was like walking into a clean and trendy Korean convenience store! Each yubu is $6, about the size of a tennis ball, and has that slightly sweet marinade that's characteristic of Korean cuisine. The bed of rice underneath the meat was soft and hearty, and I'd say the meat:rice ratio was 40 meat:60 rice. 4 yubus took ~15 minutes to come out, so make sure to visit when your schedule is leisurely/unhurried. I'd say this spot is worth visiting at least once for a date or a hangout bc of its pleasantly unique vibes :) The store had an instant ramen bar where you can pick from a variety of different Korean ramens (like buldak) and then boil your own pot of noodles. This place also offered various ice creams, drinks, and chips that reminded me of the spreads I saw in Korea's actual convenience stores. The owner was very sweet and gave us canned Korean pear drinks on the house, explaining that this business had only been up for a month and that he was still taking feedback on food prices while still striving to maintain high ingredient quality. read more

Great takeout spot not only do they have the inari bombs they also have various Asian insta Ramen and hot water stations to make them there as well. Service was great , we went during their soft opening and they gave us a free gift which was a tube of aloe gel for your skin! Inari were great!
