This place is just... alright. I came here one evening after getting dinner with the coworkers for a treat before going home, and ordered the house boba black milk tea. The milk tea tasted just as expected but the boba was one of the soggiest I've had so that was a disappointment. I order the same drink at the Mountain View location but their boba's firmer so something must've been off. I liked their use of kiosks to order since it did help with the growing line and also since I was just too tired at the end of the night to want to interact with anyone. The pickup process was a bit confusing since they call out names while also texting you to read a confusing combination of words to confirm your order with the server. This decor is very cutesy and aesthetic but the shop doesn't provide much for passersby's to sit and enjoy it since the seating is outside, and in this case in the cold. read more

The drink itself was quite yummy and great if you have a sweet tooth and like strawberry flavored desserts/drinks/etc. but my main gripe with it is how little the quantity was, as it was a small cup. Also, depending what day and time of day you come, this place tends to get a lot of business, so you might have very long wait times if it's a busy time. known for the hidden mystery toy in the bottom of the cup (though i'm not sure if they still have it) this location does not have seating inside and when i visited, the wait was 10+ min. they also sell a lot of merch inside which makes them stand out a bit from other boba shops. drinks tried: brown sugar boba & mochi black milk tea (7/10): a bit of a heavy drink, but hits the spot if you're craving something rich and creamy. the drinkable mochi is pretty nice since it adds a new texture to the drink and the boba is pretty decent as well. jasmine milk tea (6/10): very mid compared to other jasmine milk teas ive tried. the tea was very light and watered down, though the boba was alright. i recommend going to ten ren which is in the same plaza for a better jasmine milk tea. grape tea slushie (6/10): refreshing on a hot day, but the slushy was not slushy-ing. it was just crushed up ice that wasnt blended with the tea. the jelly(?) grape chunks were a nice touch, but the drink would definitely be better if it was an actual slushy. id love to try some more of their other drinks, just maybe not the slushies. read more

We came to Ume Tea since we wanted popcorn chicken (mild spiciness) for a quick snack. We placed an order on their kiosk (on the right once you enter) at 12:28pm on a Saturday. We received our order at 1:02pm only after we approached the worker asking the status of order #133. The worker in the front went to the counter filled with completed/unfinished orders and pulled mine out . We asked if she called out #133 and she actually confessed she did not. There were 5-6 workers and yet we still had to wait 30+ minutes for our orders regardless if it was a small or large order. Everyone was frustrated. Based on recent reviews on Ume Tea, many have experienced the same poor service as me. It was inefficient and unorganized. The popcorn chicken was pretty good though -- 4 out of 5. Spicy level is manageable and chicken was juicy, crispy and flavorful. However, it's really not worth the 30 minute wait. read more

THE CUTEST BOBA STORE EVER! I loved the logo and aesthetic and all of the employees were so kind! It was a hot and busy day, the line was out the door but we still got our drinks & snacks super fast! We ordered the Oreo brûlée milk tea, boba milk tea, peach green tea with cheese top, popcorn chicken, and mini octopus. The peach green tea with cheese top is a seasonal drink but I really hope they make it permanent! It was SO GOOD. It included fresh peach pieces and it was so delicious. The cheese top was so creamy and added the perfect salty sweet balance. The snacks were perfectly seasoned and so crispy! I love how the popcorn chicken came with fried basil too. What happened to this place? This is normally my go-to spot in Cupertino Village, but the service has seriously gone down hill. We ordered on their kiosk, and literally waited over an HOUR! I only got one drink, why would it take over an hour? The quality of their drinks have always been consistent, but they seriously need to figure out how to prioritize their drink-making system. I've been to Ume several times now and it has become one of my favorite boba shops in the bay area. Something I like about them is that their drinks are not extremely sweet like a few other boba shops. Most recently, I tried the Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea which I thought was good and would order again. Since this place is on the less sweet side, I ordered it with 100% sweetness, which was actually perfect for me. I usually adjust the sugar level to 50-75% sweetness at most other boba places. Sometimes there can be a bit of line (because this place is worth it and is popular) but they also have a QR code posted on their door and you can place your order through there, which is a simple process. The wait to receive our drinks typically ends up only being around 10 minutes from the time we order. They notify us when our drinks are ready via text. The location is nice because there are plenty of great Asian restaurants for lunch or dinner in the plaza, and lots of parking. Always happy to go here as it's one of my go-to boba spots. One thing about Ume Tea that differentiates it from most other ones around the area is that they're open a bit later. So when you're looking for late night boba, Ume Tea is your spot! The only thing is that they're basically a walk-up window with no seating. I believe Ume Tea is known for their surprise milk tea that comes with a toy. The bottom 1/3 of the cup or so is a separate part and you tear open the cup to get your plushie. Like a blind box, but a cup. The concept is pretty cool and unique, but the plushie that my friend got was a little underwhelming. It was a duck with a lopsided head and crooked eyes. Orders are taken through a self-order kiosk which can be confusing if you don't know what the surprise drink is called. Other than that I think it's pretty self-explantory. My friend also wanted to customize her drink by added milk to a fresh tea and they had her order through an employee instead. I tried a Peach Green Tea with Cheese Top which came with lychee jelly. The tea was great and so was the cheese top, but I'm not a fan of crushed ice (instead of cubed). My friend who got the custom fresh tea with added milk was not a fan of her drink. I came here on a Friday night and there's a kiosk machine to order your drinks upon arrival, so there's very limited contact with the workers. I ordered the Taro & Mochi Black Tea Latte and it took 25 minutes to come out. There were a couple other parties standing around that ordered before me but there wasn't many people waiting for 25 minutes to be a reasonable wait time. Since there's no one working register, I felt that that should've made the process faster since all hands are on deck for making drinks. However, I understand that working in customer service is tough during COVID so I was still excited for my drink. Unfortunately, the name of my drink was a bit misleading as I thought it was gonna be a taro latte with black tea. It was just very bitter and bland black tea with both chunky taro and slimy mochi as toppings in every sip. The texture of the toppings were so off-putting that I really couldn't enjoy anything about the drink, I wish I ordered the Crème Brûlée Latte as my friend enjoyed hers! 5 stars for the drinks, 3.5 for the snacks. I first tried Ume Tea via DoorDash and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the drinks. My order was well packaged and accurate. We ordered the popcorn chicken and fried fish balls, both were tasty and pretty basic. The popcorn chicken was a little bit dry and not as crunchy as most other I liked my mochi drink so much that I went back 2 days later to get another one. The mochi is a soft, chewy, slightly sweet mass. It sounds weird, but it's so unique and delicious. The milk tea is a bit on the milkier side, rich and creamy. Boba is well cooked and plentiful. The creme brûlée milk tea is also great, the creme brûlée is super light and creamy. It disintegrates in your mouth and some blends into the drink making it extra rich and silky. I love both drinks but favor the mochi one since I haven't seen anything like it at other boba shops. The store is small but the staff is pleasant and works fast. You order on a touchscreen in the store or you can order via QR code. A great boba place that manages to stand out among the multitudes of boba shops in the Bay! read more

I usually order the Lychee Peach Slush with 0% sweetness, no cheese top, and less lychee jelly. My brother liked to order the Black Tea Latte with taro&mochi. There is no indoor seating or restroom. It's just a store front and you order from the kiosk. I like to order ahead and just come by to pick it up.
