Poke bowl - a little too much sauce for my liking.
    Darlene M.

The mall is not the place to find good food. And as much as I'd like to say they have a good poke place, my statement still holds true. Uncle Shark's is just another copycat poke place trying to jump on the latest trend. My mom-in-law tried this place and got a 2-for-1 special. She gave us the free bowl so I was able to sample the poke bowl without visiting the establishment. Some of the ingredients are too common and not usually in poke bowls - like corn. Also, it was drenched in the mayo sesame sauce which took away from the overall experience. I love raw fish and poke. But because it has a lot of mercury, I am very picky about the quality of the fish. Who knows what quality fish they serve here? I'm a little leary of places like this for that reason. I don't usually give lower reviews, but I'm not impressed by this place or their food.

Went here to try out Thai milk tea. They were out of boba but the cashier was very nice and they are only around $5-6! Tasted great. Didn't try the poke bowls yet but they seem pretty well priced compared to other places I've seen.

    2. Shrimp and Salmon Mango Green Tea

I got their Shrimp and Salmon poke with everything on it and spicy Mayo on top. It was a good portion for $9.50. The entire meal was pretty good. Even though they put a whole lot of sauce, it was surprisingly good. I also got their mango green tea. The tea was not very sweet and the boba was cooked perfectly. The only thing is that it's $6 for a plain tea boba.

If you're from the Fairfield/Vallejo area, then you know there's little to no places to get a really good poke bowl. Uncle Sharkii is by no means the top contender when it comes to poke bowls, but for the area, I would say it's not bad and will certainly get the job done and satisfy those poke cravings! Their prices are super affordable too, significantly less expensive than most poke places in the bay! However, the quality of their ingredients and fish especially, don't seem to be the best. It would be nice if they also had more protein and sauce options since I believe they only have a few sauces. I've also never had their drinks before, but being that they're all pretty much made from powders/syrups that you can see clearly from the cash register, you could tell that they wouldn't be good or worth the money. All in all, a decent place to get your quick poke fix, but don't expect the most fresh or amazing quality fish. This chain is mostly in malls and now in Walmarts, so you can't really expect much!

I will never go back again. Extremely overpriced and under quality-the dish I paid for was just a big glob of mush. It's a bummer too because a real poke bar would be exciting. Very small portions that are extremely sub quality. This was my experience and I will gladly never go back. Prepare to spend $6.00 on their tea.

This is what I ordered!!! Isn't it amazing!!! Big thumbs up to Uncle Shakii!!! Love it!!!

I had AMAZING experience with this poke bar!!! The fish was very fresh and I ordered spicy tuna!!! It's like paying the minimum for the world class sushi!!! Love the customer service!!! They are super friendly and detailed oriented! You can tell how much they care through the food they prepared. Overall, 5 star!! I hope I can share photos with you. They are so beautifully made!! It's way beyond just Poke bowl!! Highly recommend!!!

Quality is always 5/5!!! I got the tofu shrimp bowl at this location And a taro milk tea and it definitely did not disappoint. This location has pineapple and strawberry soft serve like the ones in Hawaii!! Even if I don't feel like a poke bowl, I'll definitely come here for the soft serves!!!! Thank you for having different things at different locations uncle sharkii!!!

There is something special about this place. First time I was passing by Fairfield I made a stop at Solano town center and discovered the Uncle Sharkii. The poke bowl I ordered was so delicious that I couldn't leave without ordering another one to go. At first, I thought it was just because I was hungry, but here we go again and now I specifically made a detour to visit the poke bar again. It is just like the first time, 10 out of 10. It is probably the best poke I have tried.

Already loved Ayemi's for the food, but tonight they earned 5 stars for the customer service too!…read more I ordered through DoorDash and was missing the TWO sushi rolls I was most excited about. Rather than assume who was at fault, I called the restaurant to see if my driver had possibly left a bag behind. Neil, who is part owner, immediately looked into it. Within 5 minutes, he reviewed their camera footage and confirmed my driver had been handed THREE bags but I only received one. Mystery solved. Definitely a DoorDash driver issue, NOT Ayemi's. But here's what really got me: even though it wasn't their mistake, Neil offered to REMAKE my missing rolls and PERSONALLY deliver them to me. And I live far enough away that DoorDash charges me a long-distance fee! I declined because DoorDash had already refunded the missing items, and I wasn't about to double dip or make Neil drive all that way for something that wasn't his fault. But THAT is customer service. As for the food: Ayemi's has become one of my go-to spots. Their sushi rolls are JUMBO for the price of regular rolls, ingredients are fresh, everything is tasty, and my son loves their poke bowls. Is it fancy, elevated luxury sushi? No. Is it fresh, generous, affordable, and consistently satisfying? YES. Great value, lots of options, and now I know there are genuinely good people behind the business too. Thanks, Neil!

I walked in expecting sushi…read more What I didn't expect was to discover what might be the best shrimp tempura roll yet. Like many sushi regulars, I've gotten used to the quiet arithmetic of ordering: one roll usually isn't enough, so you order two, sometimes three, and suddenly what began as a casual meal turns into a financial decision. Then I noticed something interesting on the menu: a jumbo-sized shrimp tempura roll. Curiosity won. Ayemi's jumbo portion is roughly twice the size of a typical roll, yet priced around what many places charge for a regular one. Naturally, I had to try it. The first bite had everything you want from good tempura sushi. The shrimp was crisp and light, not greasy. The rice was soft and balanced. But there was also something else...a subtle flavor running through the roll that I couldn't quite identify. Not overpowering, just a pleasant note that made each bite feel a little more intriguing than the last. Perhaps a touch of fusion. Perhaps a house seasoning. Perhaps just careful attention to balance. Whatever it was, I was hooked. The textures layered beautifully: warm tempura crunch, cool rice, and that mysterious flavor that kept me going back for another bite. And another bite. And another bite... And here's the rare part: the jumbo roll was actually enough. For once, I didn't feel the need to order a second roll just to feel satisfied. The pricing was so fair that it left room to do something I always appreciate being able to do: tip the gracious hosts generously. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming. It was as if they welcomed me into their home and seated me at their family dining table to break bread with them. While I was enjoying the meal, the restaurant slowly began to fill. Then it filled some more. Soon the room had that lively buzz of a place locals clearly know about. That's always a good sign. Great food has a way of revealing itself in real time. By the time I finished my meal, the place was packed. And honestly, I wasn't surprised. When a restaurant serves food this good at prices this fair, word gets around.

The place was pretty busy with tables mostly occupied. We were ordering to go and the wait was about 10 minutes or so. We both got the poke bowl and these are the steps. 1. Select a base - Sushi rice, Brown rice or Spring mix salad. 2. Select 2 flavors. There are about 12 options of Ahi, Salmon and Shrimp. It was my first time and I always like to go with their recommendations, which is Furikake Bomb Ahi and Salmon Bomb. Great names because they were bombs! 3. Select Loaded Options aka toppings! I like that you pick a style which includes a set of toppings, instead of selecting the toppings individually. I bet that saves a lot of time. We both got the Delilah's Style which has seaweed salad, cucumbers, surimi crab, wonton chips, edamame, mangoes, massago, furikake and unagi sauce. If you like it spicy, I would get the Tropical Style with spicy mayo. Ahi and Salmon were fresh with mild (but tasty) seasoning that's not too much that you can still taste the fish. I absolutely love the wonton chips. This is not the typical wonton chips. Incredibly crunchy and thicker pieces. The toppings are vibrant, fresh and delicious! The portions are generous. I couldn't finish it in one sitting. Next time I go back I want to try the sushi wrap and musubis. This is a hidden gem in Davis.
