The food is pretty so-so but if you want to reduce your environmental impact and eat less meat but don't really want to give up the dishes, this is a solid choice. Huge menu and you don't have to think about what to avoid with meat because none of it is, and it's not any more expensive. Portions are good. We were pretty full with 5 dishes between 5 people. As of October 2021 they were using disposable containers and plates but metal utensils, hopefully they will go back to real plates soon. read more

It's not easy finding good,100% vegan restaurants in this part of the Peninsula, so -- while on a recent business trip to Mountain View -- I was very happy to find Veggie Garden about a mile away from my hotel. By the time I arrived at my hotel and got settled into my room last Sunday, it was already 8:30pm. Fortunately, Veggie Garden is open until 9:30pm on Sundays so I made the hike down El Camino Real and was seated immediately after I walked in the door. I ordered a Tsingtao beer (bottles only, no draft), homemade VG dumplings with chili sauce, and very garlicky noodles for the main course. Everything arrived within about 10 minutes -- freshly cooked and piping hot. Perfect. Flavors and textures for both the dumplings and the noodles were excellent. It was a ton of food, but I was famished from my trip so I ate it all. :-) Service was good throughout. I was so impressed by Veggie Garden that I walked the mile down El Camino Real from my hotel on Monday evening too -- only to discover that the restaurant is closed on Mondays. :-( I ended up at Napoletana Pizzeria that evening -- which was quite good -- but that's another story. read more

This place of business needs to train their employees on how to better treat their paying customers. I placed my order thru Uber eats & when I went to pick up my order the two girls working there treated me like I was trying to steal the order! I told the two Asian girls working there my name and that still did not satisfy them. They demanded to see the order on my phone and were very rude about it. However I was surprised that they served all of our dishes in to-go boxes even though we were dining in. Haven't tried the food yet. This is more about service. The one server was rude. Although she took my order Togo order she wouldn't hand anything to me directly. I was standing right in the front waiting for my food after I ordered and when it was ready she left it on the table to my right and just walked away and just said" here." I asked if it was mine because I was bit confused that it was my order she confirmed. I then went on to ask for Chilli oil and she placed one prefilled in front of me on a bill plate, I asked for a second one and she said I can use the ones for the table (for the sit down customers) but I wanted a to go container so I can add it freshly. She took a while to grab the next container and it was empty so I could fill it up on my own even though they had prefilled ones. This time I'm standing closer to where she placed the first one and instead of handing it directly to me she tries to put it in front of me. I put my hand out so she couldn't move past my hand and she kept trying. So she put it in my hand. I left after that. I ordered the wonton soup and the shrimp fried rice and they only give you 4 tiny wonton for the entire soup the rest is spinache veggies and carrots. Given there isn't a vegetarian restaurant that charges you 9 bucks for a lunch special, it's a good deal. Unfortunately, this place gave off a vibe of being a to go restaurant only with one front staff and many takeout carriers going in and out. All 3 were great. The noodles in the chow mein were the right amount of chewy/firm, and the black pepper chicken had a nice crunch to the outside. It wasn't soggy like some saucy dishes can get. It's in fusion style 2) the size of the restaurant is small very family oriented style 3) Service was good, people was friendly, and food served with in 10 min of order 4) Price was reasonable. Average cost person is about 15 to $20..... my first visit I spend around $75... and I am not average. Note: I just like to try all sort of food on the menu. 5) good place for all sort of dinning except romantic or business dinner because it can be noisy. I give a 4 stars because it deserve it. My dad doesn't like it that much, it's ok. My son likes the food here. I like how they serve the brown rice in a ball it's pretty good, but can be dry sometimes, the portions of food counter balance the rice deficit. The food though vegan is heavy on carbs and calories, but that does not take away from the delicious flavors of tofu, nuts, eggplants and gluten meats. The black pepper "chicken" chow mein was delicious and came with a nice amount of vegetables. It tasted nothing like chicken in my opinion, but it was still lovely. We tried the Gobi Manchurian (I was convinced by all the yelp reviews) and also ordered the orange peel chicken. The two dishes looked pretty much identical. Fried things drenched in thick, sweet, sticky sauce. It was far too heavy for my taste. There was too thick of a fried layer and too little of the item inside (cauliflower/"chicken"). I wouldn't order either of them again. Total came out to about $40 after tax and tip. I was disappointed with the food, but I accept that's mostly because we had an unfortunate order. I placed an order for take out on Super Bowl Sunday, so I cannot really comment on the service, although the staff did seem friendly and responsive. The chowmein I enjoyed although it did taste better the next day! The noodles were thick and very different from what I'm used to eating - so I enjoyed that a lot. This place is so good! My Taiwanese grandma approves of the food AND the price. Service is really fast. Been here multiple times and you won't wait more than 20 mins for your food. It took FIVE mins for 3 dishes of takeout (dry braised string beans, Mongolian beef, garlic eggplant). Shoutout to the main guy host for being awesome and attentive even on the phone. The vegetables are fresh, and sauce isn't too salty. Spice levels are good. You won't get that bloated-but-empty feeling in your stomach that you get from greasy Chinese food. I came to the restaurant to order some food to go today 6/6/23 around 12pm and I noticed the young skinny asian server girl wearing a sweater being rude to delivery drivers who were doing their jobs picking up and labeling orders. I felt bad for the delivery ladies and wanted to say something but I did not get the chance to. The server looked very annoyed and almost did not want to help the delivery people complete their orders. When she was taking my order she seemed annoyed as well and it ruined my experience at this restaurant. People need to be kind to other people and this server shouldn't look down on the delivery people. At least have some decent respect to other people? I won't be coming back here due to this horrible experience from this rude server. I can't stand people like this who think they are better than others. read more
