I loved how the menu was laid out, with shareable for the whole table which makes it so much more fun and interactive instead of just each ordering our own thing. We ordered the monte Cristo pizza - YUM! Gouda, Canadian bacon and pineapple (being a true New Yorker I hate pineapple on pizza but I'm telling you it was just a hint, not overpowering at all) the Gouda brought so much flavor it was wonderful. We also ordered the focaccia French toast which was delicious and different. We also ordered the salmon toast - the jalapeño aioli was amazing. Me and the person I was with shared the Bellini carafe which was so yummy and great with brunch. The other 2 people shared the apple margarita which wasn't that good I wouldn't recommend. The food here is excellent. We went for brunch around 1:30 on a Saturday. The place was not very crowded but they sat us near the bar in the front. My friend was a little late but whatever. We order around 1:45 got our drinks & food & everything is really good. Around 10 to 3 the waiter comes over & tells us we have to leave by 3 however we weren't done. He brought the check & again said we had to leave & kept coming back to say we have to leave. It was really rude & I didn't appreciate being pushed out like that. Nothing like a good brunch in NYC. On last minute notice, I popped into Sotto 13 for brunch on a Sunday and was able to get a table. Surprising as the place was very busy and all tables were filled. They have a great brunch special for $35 which includes a whole pizza for two people, two breakfast dishes, a side dish and a bottle of champagne or premade carafe of mimosa. When you do the math, this is an EXCELLENT deal. We had the pizza, which was surprisingly good. You would expect mediocre pizza in a deal like this, but it was pretty good. Also had an order or French toast which was really good and a side of bacon which was standard. The champagne was your standard prosecco and did the trick. Overall this was a good meal for a great price. Atmosphere wise it's your standard NYC energized brunch crowd and the service was great. Food came in a timely manner and didn't feel rushed at all. I came with three girlfriends and we had soooo much leftover food. We left full and satisfied! Came for brunch with three friends this past Sunday. I thought it was a pretty good deal! $35 per person for a family style meal. For 4 people we got to choose two breakfast entrees, a pizza, a side and two carafes of cocktails. We chose the eggs Benedict, the french toast, the prosciutto pizza and a side of roasted potatoes. For our cocktails, we ordered the spiked lemonade and the blueberry pomegranate cocktail. When we were ordering I thought that it might be enough food but it was the perfect amount. I really enjoyed it because we were able to try a variety of different foods which is always better than just having one entree to yourself!!! The only thing I would say is that if your looking for a real boozy brunch this is not it. The carafes were large mason jars which equaled to about 1 and 1/2 drinks per person but if you're looking for good food, nice atmosphere and a cocktail or two this is the place to go We had a late reservation because I hate getting up early on my days off so the restaurant was not packed. By the time we left we were the only people in the place. They were preparing for dinner and when we were walking out I saw them making handmade pasta!! A glass ceiling and cute table arrangements contribute to this restaurant's chic vibe (not to mention the large aesthetic mason jars that the drinks come in). When you first sit down, you really do feel like you're going to have a great time. But, the terrible service, accompanied with average food, leaves you disappointed. I came for a birthday brunch, and the only option for a group brunch is the pre fixe menu, which is $39 per person (so about $50 per person after tax and tip). You get to choose 3 dishes that are portioned out among the table, which was nice, and a drink pitcher per two people. We got the margarita pizza, eggs benedict, and French toast. The pizza was nice and thin but didn't really stand out to me. The French toast was also mediocre. The eggs benedict was the best dish, although the egg less so than the actual bread, which was crispy and bursting with flavor. We also got three drink pitchers - sangria, champagne mule, and Bellinis. The sangria was especially delicious. The best part of the meal was the Nutella-stuffed bombolinis that regrettably weren't include in the pre fixe. I would've rated this spot slightly higher if it weren't for the rude and unprofessional staff. They would bring out all the food at once, not able to anticipate the fact that 20 plates cannot physically fit on a small circular table. There's a 2 hour time limit for each party, so we got there at 11 and expected to leave at 1. But, starting 12pm, the staff would come up to our table and annoyingly ask if we were done yet, clearly in a rush to clear our table. I understand that time limits are important in busy NYC joints, but to start trying to push out parties an hour before the end time is ridiculous. We brought a 3 layered birthday cake, and they charged $3 per person cutting fee (~$20 total), which was expected. However, they cut it HORIZONTALLY (instead of vertically as people normally do). This completely ruined the taste of the cake given there are different fillings in the layers. 3. The food tasted mediocre and cocktails were bland. WARNING: If you plan on bringing a cake here, definitely don't let them cut it. They cut cake in horizontal slices!!!! Nestled on a quiet, mostly residential block, I originally assumed that Sotto 13 was just one of those teeny tiny little NYC Italian restaurants. I was surprised to find that once you go past the bar area, it's actually quite a large dining area with an impressive skylight making for dramatic ambiance! The front bar area was a bit crazy with the after work happy hour crowd on a Friday, but the back was much more peaceful. As for the food, also a hit. I shared the meatballs, the truffle mushroom pizza, and the carbonara, for which they kindly gave us the pancetta on the side. All of it tasted fresh, flavorful, and filling. The pasta menu in particular looked amazing from start to finish, and there were sooo many pastas I was dying to try! All of this was perfectly washed down with a nice, generous helping of an Aperol spritz. The waitstaff was attentive but let us hang out as happy hour turned to dinner hour as we ate and chatted. I'm definitely going to keep this in mind for future dinners, whether with small or large groups. It looks like they can accommodate all kinds, and it's a lovely date or special occasion spot at not too high a price point. Made a reservation for the Social Distanced Brunch and when I got there the manager didn't even address me for a few minutes. When I finally told him I had a reservation he pointed at a table right at the entrance that had absolutely NO space and said that was the only table he had. There was another empty table available on the sidewalk but I didn't argue. Most other tables also got waited on before we did and after we ordered our food and drinks we didn't get checked on until they wanted to clear our table. We had a 1.5 hour table and when we asked for a refill on our drinks, they made us gulp down the last few sips of our drinks before they served us again even though it was a bottomless brunch. Wonderful italian inspired cuisine. It's all set up tapas style so it's great for sharing. The front area is the bar area and they run great happy hours on wine and cocktails with a bar menu of tapas wood fired items. The dinner which we came here for was great. The wine's are on par and the riesling was spot on. The wood fired oven dishes were the highlight. A great sausage pizza that had that wood fired char, a duck egg carbonara with sausage (though i thought the duck egg could of stood out more), and a wonderful meatball dish. All had great flavor and was delish. Desserts were also nice and the tiramisu and cookies were presented in a great way. I must confess that my loneliness is killing me now Don't you know I still believe .... Wait a second, that was Britney Spears*. What I actually must confess, is that I wanted to like this place but I struggled to give it three stars. Went here for dinner with friends and liked the space and the service. Some of the food was good but there were some HUGE misses on the food front upon which I hope this place can improve. On the plus side, the fig, gorgonzola and prosciutto crostini was superb. The pizzas were all very decent...not extraordinary but solid. Veggie pizza was waaayyyy too heavy on the balsamic. Pollo pizza was good, a little spicy, which was nice. Meatball was good. We liked the crusts. However, the drinks were not good and I'm serious when I say they should have been embarrassed to serve the desserts they gave us. For drinks, we had a bourbon smash, a watermelon margarita and a mango margarita. The watermelon tasted like a Jolly Rancher. You would never know the mango had any mango in it....no flavor and the color of diluted orange juice. The Bourbon Smash sounded good (blackberries, Makers Mark, cranberry juice) but it had very little flavor and for a drink with those flavors, there should have been a robust-ness that was simply missing. The real crime here, as mentioned previously, was the desserts. We ordered a flourless chocolate thing that looked like a cross between a Kit Kat and a Hershey bar. Spiced with sea salt, it was pretty good. The tiramisu was inedible. It tasted like someone left some field greens on it. Usually you can taste liqueur or coffee or mascarpone...here, it tasted like someone made Twinkies with kale in them. I can't even describe how unappealing it was. The prize for most insulting dessert was the mini-cannoli. The filling wasn't awful. However, the waiter said everything was made in- house and if they made the shells in-house, then they clearly fried the dough in the deep fryer at the end of the day because those shells tasted like the shells they serve salads in at Taco Bell. Seriously...every flavor of anything fried was in the shell. They even smelled like Taco Bell. You could not taste the filling unless you scooped it out separately. So if you don't drink and you like pizza, and you like a cute and hip looking place, you're in luck. If you want a cocktail and dessert, keep looking until the place finds its feet with those items. So I found this place via yelp for my birthday girls brunch. I strongly recommend reservations. I had a group of 11 and were able to fit at the biggest table under the skylight. Soft music playing so that you are able to have conversations with everyone at the table and I loved the sky light above with the lamp arrangement that looks like white balloons to me :) Now my focus was to come and have boozy brunch. BUT in order to partake - you need everyone in your party to commit to same brunch package . $29 gives you a half liter (approx 3 glasses) or $39 is for bottomless. The rest of the package depends on the amount of people in your group. YMy group had choice of 3 pizzas, 3 brunch plates and 2 sides. If you want anything extra it is "a la carte". We chose things based on being fair to meat eaters, someone who didn't eat seafood, people who didn't eat pork and vegetarians. Since this is a family style type of dining for Boozey brunch- it could have been complicated but ended up being perfect since we had to order 1-2 a la carte items. I had a great experience. Service was friendly and food and drink came at a good pace. I will say that the top 3 fave dishes were the French Toast ( OMG) , the mushroom pizza and the steak/egg hash. The crab scramble was ok- not as memorable as I would have thought. If I still meat, then I would have tried my old fave eggs Benedict here . My friend had reserved a large table for her birthday dinner last weekend. Starting this off with stating on how amazing the service was for our dining experience for a group of nine. We were seated in the brightly lit dining hall area with a window-paned roof that looks up into the sky. It was pretty empty for a Saturday night but also probably attributing that to the Kentucky Derby race was going on and Sotto is tv-less. Another thing I wanted to make note of before I break down everything I sampled, bring back unlimited booze brunch! Never actually got to try it here but that was the main reason why I initially remember bookmarking this place. Now I believe they do carafes of brunch cocktails with a limit of one per two guests. Lame. I guess it really takes only one drunk asshole to ruin a great deal that they had before. The cocktails: I mostly sampled an array of different things people at our table ordered. Their wine is delicious too! But I knew it was going to be a long night and wine makes me sleepy. Favorite was definitely the Fig Old Fashioned with smooth amber old scout bourbon, fig, maple syrup, and a booze soaked real cherry on top. So sweet, strong, and decadent. The strawberry chamomile margarita my friend ordered was as well one of the better margaritas I've tried in a long time. Gin cocktails were okay but a little herbaceous. Definitely go with the bourbon, margs, or wine. Appetizers served after fresh focaccia bread came out with rosemary olive oil: We split among a group of us their wood-fired meatballs with ricotta, pomodoro, and toasted pine nuts. Incredibly delicious and the pine nuts accent it well but $11 you are paying about $4 a meatball (only three per serving). Yellowfin tuna tartare with green olives, capers, chili oil, and toast. This was so fresh with just a hint of heat. I could eat five plates of tuna tartare. Simply stunning. The entree I ordered was carbonara with duck pancetta, cured egg yolk, pecornio and parmigiano. Really enjoyed the al dente bucatini noodles (expected linguini but this was better). Portion was decently sized for a medium fancy restaurant which was pleasing. Not enough duck, but great on flavor. Hard to flag down our waiter for some more parmigiano to be added, lending to my food growing cold. I still really enjoyed this dish though. I tried the meat sauce of one of my friend's grandma's fettuccine in bolognese sauce and noted made with some extra love. The sauce was surprisingly a bit sweet and could imagine an entire bowl would go down quick. Also tried a piece of someone's butcher's cut piedmontese beef with salsa verde. OH MY GOD. Melt in your mouth tender, well seasoned, amazing cut of beef. But also marked up with a $33 price tag. Bottom line, the place isn't cheap but they make a great cocktail and have excellent wines. Food is fairly expensive if you don't order a pasta dish or pizza but it is cooked quite excellently and worth its value. They brought out tiramisu in the end for the birthday girl and complimentary donuts with warm chocolate sauce for the rest of the gang. I had a birthday brunch for 12 people here, and it was a fantastic experience. I really like how all entrees are to share, so guests can try a little bit of each dish. It was also bottomless, the sangria and mimosas were delicious. Service was excellent. Shoutout to Rich the events manager for being communicative and helpful in all the planning. Also thing I would perhaps suggest is to have a cake option on the menu- they currently don't, so I brought my own cake (but there is no cake cutting fee). I'm giving this place 3 stars more for the atmosphere and lighting, which I absolutely loved, more than the service or food, both of which were just okay. I came here with a group of 5 other friends for Saturday morning brunch. I had made the reservation earlier in the week and was able to snag a spot at 11. Some of my friends were running late, but after 2/3 of the group arrived, they went ahead and sat us in this cozy little booth at the opposite end of the restaurant, near the skylight. Our server did not do a good job of explaining the concept of social brunch to us. At the end of her explanation, none of us realized it was all-you-can-eat, and we were all super confused as to why it cost $35. Hence we opted to order a la carte instead after clarifying with our server that it was possible to order separate dishes from the social brunch menu too. I got the pulled chicken hash because it was the item with the most meat, but I didn't enjoy all that much. The chicken meat tasted dry, and I wasn't a huge fan of the sweet sauce they coated it in; it tasted like bbq sauce which I don't like. My friends who got the eggs benedict said it was amazing though. And I tried a bite of another friend's butcher's scramble which was pretty much a huge pile of soft scrambled eggs in this tomato-based sauce, and that was pretty tasty as well. I guess I just ordered the wrong thing. Just watch out - the portions for the items from the social brunch menu are pretty small. After finishing our meal, we were all not quite full, so we split a prosciutto pizza afterwards. It came with 6 slices which was perfect for the 6 of us, so we all snagged a slice and happily munched on that. Unfortunately the pizza wasn't the greatest either, but at least it filled us with some much needed meat and carbs! The restaurant let us sit around for a while even after we finished our meal without rushing us, which I thought was nice. This place was decadent. Delicious! I came with a party of 6 and we ordered the gnocchi, shroom pizza, spicy Italian pizza, Brussels sprouts, pork chop, steak, and other pasta dish. We also ordered several drinks and dessert. The pork chop had so much flavor and it was juicy and tender. The gnocchi was chefs kiss; the sauce was incredible. Brussels sprouts were phenomenal with the bacon in them. Shroom pizza was my favorite dish that night. The naughty lady drink (I think? It was pink and lemony) was really good. Holy "ladies that lunch"/"Carrie - the early year's"! There were a lot of well-coiffed and heeled sundressed 20-something gals when i met a friend here for brunch after a comparison of the menu via text. Everything looked super delicious! When I arrived walking down 13th, I felt a little Midwestern bumpkin-ish (think I might have stood across the street on my phone at first, lest I have to go in by myself.) I'd wistfully look at the bottom of my glass as I drank the last sip of it, set it to the side and continue my convo, reach over for the glass and our server had magically filled it. I'm really neither a mimosa nor a bloody Mary fan so this is my new brunch bevy. Friend had a bloody & seemed happy with it but it was a little smaller than I'm used to. Just absolutely beautiful and inventive with the funky back room that is perfect for brunch. It also has outdoor seating on a very attractive block in the West Village with brownstones. The happy hour specials are amazing two-for-one drinks, and we're not talking cheap well drinks. The drinks included on the happy hour are inventive specialty cocktails. The happy hour special is a solid 4.5 stars hands-down. The food is hit or miss. I tried everything from the cheese platters, to the pizzas, to the meatballs, to the crostini, to the salads. Honestly everything was good, not great. Particularly love coming here in the summer when they have their sotto 13 drink, which comes with a little slice of watermelon as garnish. The hemmingway is always a great call as well. Would say that the snacks are good, but not as great of a deal as the drinks. Have tried almost all of the apps over the more than a handful of times I've come in, and though they're all delicious I would def have snack beforehand and come for the drinks.
