My wife and I dined at Vico for the first time this evening and what an amazing experience . First cannot say enough about the incredible dishes we shared from the potato croquettes appetizer ,the clams vongle and ricci pasta were unique and absolutely delicious. As for our entrees the branzino and the chicken were great ! You definitely can taste the freshness and quality! We really appreciated Chef Eric stopping by our table to see if we enjoyed our meal! Joked with him that i haven't had wax beans since I was a kid, forgot how good they were! Just wanted to thank you for amazing food and wonderful service! Our new go to! Vico is the perfect spot for date night! We were visiting friends from out of town and did a quick Yelp search to find the perfect date night restaurant. We couldn't be happier with our find. What a gem! My husband and I arrived at around 6 PM on a weeknight and the restaurant was busy, but not too busy. We were able to be seated promptly, without much of a wait. The website for the restaurant offers a very convenient option to make a reservation, which we would recommend utilizing. I can definitely see Vico becoming busier as word gets out about this new, amazing restaurant! Vico offers the most amazing cocktails. My husband was SO ecstatic by the selection of cocktails offered on the menu. He ordered both the Seiano and the San Pietro. He loved both, but commented that the San Pietro was delicious and perfect with his meal. We shared both the Ricotta Montata and the Burrata. Both were stunning and very delicious! I ordered the Agnolotti Di Funghi and my husband opted for the Fichi pizza. We shared both (because they both looked so good!) and loved everything about them. The Agnolotti Di Funghi had the most tender pasta filled with a flavorful mushroom and ricotta filling. It was absolutely to die for. My husband's Fichi pizza was sweet (but not too sweet) and was a delightful change from what we're used to when ordering pizza. We finished our meal with cappuccinos and could not have been more impressed. The restaurant was beautiful, the staff delightful, and the food amazing. When we're in town again, I hope to be able to return to sample more of the delicious menu! read more

Every time that I have tried something new from Vico, my opinion of their restaurant just goes up. I have tried several dishes from their great family catering packages and last weekend I tried their pizza. It was heads and shoulders above the pizza most locations serve nowadays. Have you ever gad cheap canned mushrooms on your pie? Not at Vico. Their mushrooms are fresh, sautéed and high quality. How about the classic deli sliced pepperoni on your pie? Not at Vico. Small diameter high quality fresh sliced pepperoni. The crust has olive oil and gad a perfect crunch and taste. On top of it all, the management, chefs and staff are just hospitality pros and they just keep trying to take the best care of you possible. Oh, by the way I had beed paying $26-$27 dollars for a 1/2 mushroom and 1/2 pepperoni pie from my old pizzeria. Vico's cost $20. Give this restaurant a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

Absolutely delicious, They had me sold with the appetizers. There was so much taste in the antipasti platter. Plus the Polpette ! Oh my god the meatballs the sauce and the bread were to die for. The cheese's on the antipasti platter were so fresh. We also ordered 3 different types of pizza and all of them were so delicious. We ordered half's so we wouldn't get too full lol. One thing is to please make sure to have room for dessert ! Make sure to try the Lemon drop dessert its pure joy in your mouth. I think the worst part was that I didn't have enough room for pasta. Second time there this evening and it was once again excellent. The potato croquets are a must. Last time I got the Rici pasta which was excellent. Nice and light but flavorful. Pasta was perfect (they make their own fresh every day). Today I got the Mezzi Rigatoni DiVongole (pasta with clams and sausage). The clams were still in their shell and delicious. The Arola was so good I had two! The rest of our group ordered two "medium" pizzas which were HUGE (and delicious). Our server was very attentive and the service overall was excellent. Chef Eric stopped by to make sure everything was ok (it was). Definitely give this a try if you want excellent italian at a reasonable price. read more

I've just experienced the best tasting pizza metro Ever!!! Half Mortadella and Pistachio with with pesto and stracciatella. The Potato Croquettes with prosciutto and Parmigiano with a roasted garlic sauce were Amazing!!! Best I've ever had. The whipped ricotta with olive oil and a balsamic reduction, Delicious. I was there this Saturday for lunch with my family. The place was empty. I ordered a broccoli raab and sausage pizza and asked for added peppers and onions. The waitres said they were out of peppers but can add onions. The dough was great but the pizza had only a miniscule amount of sausage and broccoli -they were the star ingredients listed on the menu! The pizza was basically alot of cheese. Same with my kids pizza orders. Almost no vegetables on the menu-I know Italians love their veggies and this place is suppose to be 'Italian like in Italy. Vico was a great experience all around! The staff (wait staff, owner and chef) all kept checking to up on us to ensure we were enjoying everything that came out. The owner gave us a wonderful background story on his family in Italy in which the restaurants inspiration comes from. All the food was delicious! You can tell everything is homemade and very regional and authentic to Italy. Even their mozzarella is made in house! The restaurant was decorated as if you were in the southern coasts of Italy as well which I loved. everyone should check out Vico for an overall awesome experience! My wife and I went Saturday Night. Arrived 6 pm and it was relatively empty, but 5 minutes later, all filled up. Mike was a great server and the food was all over the top delicious. Vico is truly a new gem that is a totally different experience from other restaurants. Let's get to the food! For appetizers we had the potato croquettes and the burrata. The potato croquettes were the best croquettes I've ever had so savory and crispy breadcrumb and the filling was smooth and creamy. The burrata was excellent and creamy as well, it's a unique cheese to try. Then we had the eggplant pizza, the eggplant was so soft and fresh. The pizza was delicious and cooked to perfection. Now we get to the pastas WOW, we had Agnolotti di funghi (pasta filled with ricotta and mushroom) and the Girasole (pasta filled with ricotta, crab and shrimp) the pasta is so fresh and the flavor that comes from these plates was so delicious and savory, just made me happy. I felt like I was in Italy. Then Chef Eric recommended the desert, he said bomboloni, it is a donut filled with Nutella, so light and fluffy. Our new spot! The restaurant is beautifully done and I felt like I'm sitting by a costal seascape, I love it!!! Everyone was so welcoming and attentive, and Chef Eric checked in on us to see how everything was going, what a pleasure. Just checked out this new spot, and loved it! Highly recommend the margarita, super tasty and goes great with anything! Started off with the whipped ricotta and fig pizza, super fresh and delicious! The ricotta actually went well with the sweetness of the pizza. For our mains, we got the broccoli pesto gnocchi and the mortadella tortellini. Very tasty! This place is soooooo goood!!! My friend and I went after seeing the menu on Facebook group. We got two appetizers, the cheese board and the whipped ricotta. Both were so delicious, a great selection of cheeses and the whipped ricotta was amazing. We also got a mushroom pizza not pictured that was also amazing. One of my favorite courses we got. For our entrees, I got the ricotta gnocchi and my friend got the spaghetti. They were the perfect portion, not big at all which is great to sample all their courses. And the lemon mousse for dessert was exactly as delicious! Also, the chef came out to check on us and ask how we were doing which I thought was so nice and special. I have been waiting for this new spot to open and I was very pleased from start to finish. The restaurants decor makes me feel like I'm on vacation ! We started with drinks and one of the appetizers! Came in on a whim seeing if we could score a table at Chef Eric's newest restaurant and we lucked out. Front staff was super friendly and accommodating. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Food (Amalfi-region inspired) was knockout. Had the prosciutto and reggiano croquettes as an app (4 pcs), both my wife and I really enjoyed them. For the main course our daughter (7) had the "personal size" margherita and while waiting for our pie, I snuck a slice - very simple and very tasty. That's how a pie should be, IMO. We ordered the 1/2 Metro Fennel Sausage (w/ garlic honey - wicked good). Firstly, this pie could feed for people easy, so naturally we have leftovers to look forward to. Secondly, the combination of flavors was awesome, really a great pie. For dessert, believe it or not, we had the lemon mousse, which was good, but next time I'm going to try mixing the lemon in the with mousse versus how it's presented. For me, I think the tartness of the lemon needs to mix with the cream rather than layer, but that's not meant to be a knock, just a preference. All in all though, super happy we were able to get a table and experience the atmosphere and food that Chef Eric has put together, we are already looking forward to going back! read more

The windows are super tinted to keep the heat out so it looks weird from the outside, but the staff is super friendly and the food is delicious. So happy we tried Vico tonight! It's so nice to find a place with a menu that is just a little different from the rest. The restaurant is very pretty inside and the bar area looked inviting. The menu is very much like one you would find in Italy. They recommend that each person order an app, a pasta and an entree. While we did not order that much (and still had plenty to eat), a person with a very large appetite might want to follow their advice. Our party of 4 started with a half metro polpette pizza and a bottle of wine. The wine list had many affordable options which is always a pleasant surprise. The pizza was delicious, with a thin crispy crust. 2 of us ordered the grouper entree that was served with risotto that contained tomatoes and mussels - yummmmm. The other 2 members of our party ordered pasta dishes as their entree; one had a special that had roasted chicken, garlic and eggplant in it which he really enjoyed. The other ordered the absolutely outstanding squid ink pasta dish. For dessert, we had what tasted like caramel flan; it was a nice ending to our meal, but we all wished that they had some sorbet or gelato on the dessert menu. Atmosphere is amazing. This is our 3rd time here since we do feel this place has potential. Took 10 minutes for a server to come to us. Only 2 servers, 1 bar tender and 1 hostess with 1 bus girl. A bit short staffed in my opinion. Gnocchi was a bit bland plus was expecting something puffier and softer. Buratta was on the money. Ordered Pork Chop Parm but was brought Pork Chop Milanese even though it wasn't on the menu. Server said it was on his computer so that what he assumed I ordered. It wasn't bad at all. Pork Chop cooked well but needed some shredded Parmigiano cheese and balsamic vinegar to give it some pizzazz. Without it, I was looking for some more tomatoes and lettuce to wake it up. Our 2nd glasses of wine were brought at the end of our main course and that took 15 mts. We decided to cancel the wine but were brought them anyway. He did mention they were on the house, however they did show up on the bill. After mentioning that, the server did take the glasses off the bill. Affagado was good although the espresso should be poured on the ice cream in front of us. Pistachio Tiramasu was good and tasty. We did notice servers leaving the restaurant and going next door and coming back with items like coffee and ice cream. I assume the restaurant next door and this one are owned by the same people. To us, this is unprofessional and unsanitary to do in front of clientele. Overall, since we dine out alot, it may be awhile before we return to give it another shot. read more

Before I say anything I'm a nobody. When I walked into this place, I was surprised of how empty it was since me and my S/O were worried that we couldn't get a table. As we were sat down to our table, I didn't think much of it. I took a peek at the menu and chose what we wanted with the best hospitality from the restaurant which surprised me heavily since finding good hospitality is hard to come by in long island establishments. While sitting down and waiting for my food I was looking around at the interior design made me feel as If I was in Italy. I loved the table set up, the flowers, and the paintings it gave me a feeling of reminiscing. Once I received my appetizer I was stunned. The meatballs caught me off guard. One small bite with the sauce, the meat, the seasoning oh my god you can easily tell the chef's blood, sweat and tears of training he put into this small dish it was if I was there to witness his dedication and love for food. I had to try the bread next. Not only was the bread great with the sauce but the bread itself was amazing. The bread had the right amount crunchy and softness the flavor reminded me of a time that I had no worries in life. This dish was finished by me and my S/O so quickly we barely had enough to share. The server came by to check up on us and we were informed that the owners and chef carefully chose ingredients to maximize flavor and authenticity. I've never was so happy and surprised to be told this information. Which made me look around the restaurant again with a confused look on my face and I told myself "Why is this place empty?". As soon as I thought that I had received my entree. I ordered a Gnocchi Sorrentina with the bomb bowl and my S/O ordered the Ravioli Caprese. One bite one small damn bite made me want to come back another day to eat it again and try other menu items. As I ate the gnocchi, I felt like I was in Amalfi in a date at a small restaurant staring at the sea wondering if I will ever get used to this view. I snapped back to reality saddened that I'm in New York. My S/O ravioli's as I ate it, I felt as if I was taking a gondola ride around Venice with my friend and her telling me about every building that we passed by. I snapped back to reality (again I hated that I was in New York and not Italy), and I had the chef greet my table and I couldn't find the words to gather to say that I loved every bite of my food and instead I sounded like an idiot trying to impress a random stranger. I had my S/O explain what I was trying to say instead. After the chef left, we finished our Dinner then the server came and told us to try the pizzas next (the best hospitality I have ever received so far). I paid and left hoping to come back again on a Wednesday Night. This place was wonderful. From the decor to the food, every detail was beautifully done. The cocktails are unique, mine was the San pietro, it had tequila, I think strawberry, and aloe which was combined really well. It was refreshing and flavorful. For dinner, we had the burrata and polpette appetizers, both were fresh, delicious, and portioned perfectly. Next, we had the octopus, ricci di fortuna, and the articiocco pizza and again everything was fresh, well portioned, and flavorful. Every food item was freshly made, deliciously flavored, and gave us a feeling of home. If food can be heartwarming, this restaurant has nailed it. The service was also fantastic, we were checked on by our tag team waiters that were very friendly and helpful and we were paid a visit from the chef who is delightful and fun to talk to. If you're in the mood for fresh, flavorful italian food get down to this place immediately.
