Definitely will try it with cream next time, they were already delicious without, but just out of curiosity. I am very particular about my matcha, and I loved it. They have good grade matcha here. Came on a Wednesday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. Cute little coffee shop that just recently open. I got their matcha einspanner less sweet and the lowest they can do it 50% which was fine. The coloring of the drink was light and the drink still turn out to be very sweet. I asked the cashier again if they can make it even less sweet and after taking in my drink and returning it back to me the drink became even lighter! The customers after me got similar matcha drinks and theirs looks darker not sure if it's the batch I got.. I hate to be that person but I ended up having to ask if I could get a differ drink since I did not enjoy mine. If the aunties and chu hais are hanging out here in the middle of the day on a Tuesday, you know it's legit. Viland is one of the newer Vietnamese coffee shops to grace the Westminster/Garden Grove area, and they opened right across from Da Vien so you know they came to fight! The staff are super friendly and the decor was cute and aesthetic, I would definitely come here with a work laptop to hang out for a bit whenever I'm in the area. Viland coffee: 5/5 - this drink was so good, my new obsession! Vietnamese coffee with a creme brulee top, and the coffee is good quality and STRONG. The kind of bitter that reminds me of liquor, I absolutely loved it! Pastries: 4/5 - pastries here were pretty solid and make this place stand out a bit more from places like Da Vien and Trung Nguyen Legend (they're all on the same street, so maybe we'll see a coffee war soon lol). My only complaint is that the almond croissant was a tad sweet, but real talk it was covered in powdered sugar and I still bought it so that's my bad. Parking is a little booty, so maybe bring your beater car in case an auntie decides to back out of their spot blindfolded, but otherwise I would highly recommend giving this place a try! read more

Tried this place twice, they need to step up the service, by a lot with so much competition in the area. The beignets on my first visit were good the coffee I thought the avocado coconut coffee was supposed to be blended but came out iced. It was grand opening week and packed so decided to try again after it quiet down. Second visit was on a Thursday at 4pm, I tried the pate chaud for $2.75 it was lacking flavor and size. I ordered the blended coconut coffee, waited 12 minutes for it, while there were only 2 orders ahead of me and they didn't call out the number. They expected everyone to just stand at "pick-up" to get their drink? When the couple that ordered and sat down before I even entered saw that I got my drink they got up to see that theirs was ready also without knowing. The wait for a blended drink with only 2 parties ahead of me and 5 employees behind the register was annoying. The drink came out mostly coconut very little coffee. I think their biggest competition for this drink is not Da Vien across the street but Bambi Boba and Coffee right behind them, Viland should take note from that mom and pop stop. I don't plan on picking up coffee again here, maybe their beignets. read more

I stopped by Viland Coffee to pick up some beignets before visiting my friend's parents for the first time. I ordered a box of 12 beignets and added 3 extra for myself--thinking it would make a thoughtful and delicious little gift. When I received my order, I was shocked to find all 15 beignets stuffed into a plain paper bag. I asked the staff member about the box I had expected, and she simply said, "We don't have any boxes." I pointed to the display on the shelf that had boxes and asked if I could use one of those, but she refused, saying they were old. For whatever reason, she just wouldn't give me a box. I was really disappointed. While the beignets themselves were tasty, the presentation was completely lacking. A paper bag full of pastries looks more like restaurant leftovers than a gift. I ended up having to rush to another bakery to find something that looked presentable. The staff are friendly, the space was and the dozen of beignets pretty nice, maybe it was just a bad time for me, but the wait time is INSANE for just 1 dozen of beignets. The one thing that made my experience quite terrible was the wait. I arrived at 8:20 and didn't get my box of beignets until 9:04. I do understand that it was the morning rush so things may have gotten hectic for the staff. The first time I asked for my order was at 8:30, 10 minutes after I had ordered at the kiosk, and the kind staff told me it will be out in 2-3 minutes. Comes 30 minutes later and still no beignets. I went to ask the same person for my order again and turns out they had completely forgot about my order. Turns out they were ready already. When I heard this location opened I was really excited to try it. Came here and tried their vietmamese coffee and the matcha latte which seems to be the cafe's popular drinks according to staff member. The drinks were fine, but drinks seem to be premade and sweetness can't be adjusted which in my opinion is a bit unsettling and doesn't have the variety for everyones taste preference. Based on reading some reviews, the sweetness was adjusted for some people, so I asked to get my drink sweetness adjusted too, but when I came and asked they said they cannot adjust sweetness, so honestly I am still confused on how the store is operating as if the staff members are all over the place on what can be done and what cannot be done. Ordered some pistachio croissants, the matcha tofu pudding and the pistachio croissants was okay, croissant wasn't too crispy or flaky and a bit too soft. The other thing is I came in at 1 pm and the mini croissants were sold out already, but they close at 10 pm, seems like they need better supply inventory management. The store itself seemed clean, but staff members don't really greet or seem as welcoming. I had to repeat my order twice for them to put it in the system even after thr staff acknowledged my order, seems like they are all over the place or zoned out and this is after grand opening. Parking is awful in this plaza. There is many other local businesses here that share the parking so it can be difficult to find depending when you go. Friendly staff and nice clean place with some decor. I'd recommend only coming here to get drinks if you're in a hurry. Other than that, if you're planning to stay a while and chill with friends, then you're good to go if you order food. In my experience, my husband and I ordered food along with our drinks, but we had to wait so long just for a small sandwich, almost 30 minutes and I'm not even exaggerating. Been at busier crowds at other coffee spots but serving was so fast! Literally waited 20 mins for 4 drinks and one of them was only a tea! They were just laid out on the counter and was not getting called out because they decided they wanna give out and make drinks for the guests after us, they need to finish one's order first before making others because that's not fair. I really had high hopes for Vinland. I came in on a Saturday and ordered a coffee latte, sweet and iced. I got my coffee and left as soon. I got a few lights down and the coffee was well I should said was pretty much all milk, no sweetener and barely any ice. So disappointing. I couldn't even finish it! A 7 dollar cup of coffee and all you get is milk, a bunch of ice and no coffee. The coffee shop is very clean and decorated nicely for the holidays. It would be a nice spot to work from, but in my opinion what good does that do for anyone if the Coffee is horrible. read more

Very friendly staff, online order was ready in a timely manner on a busy day. We got: - 12 pack beignets w/ vanilla cream - beef croissant sandwich - pistachio croissant - coconut blended coffee - taro latte Everything was okay, nothing really blew me out of the water. The beignets here are a little chewier and fluffier than Lily's (which is good) but a stronger oil flavor (not so great)--maybe cooking temp isn't quite right to let that much oil soak. They did heat up well in the air fryer and the oil was less pronounced after reheating. The croissants are on the stodgy side but is on par for Vietnamese bakeries I think. The pistachio cream was very sweet, which is great if you like it sweet. The beef sandwich is pretty unique, the meat was drenched in sweet and savory sauce, my 4yo loved it. Coffee was nothing terrible but not much to write home about when the coffee game out here is crazy competitive. I'm personally more of a 3rd wave guy but don't mind drinking my desserts on special occasions, and more importantly this was supposed to be a birthday treat for the wife. Looked like a decent sized crowd when I went on a Christmas Eve morning. I think I'd get the beignets here again and maybe skip on the other things next time the fam wants beignets. read more

This place was pretty good! Their young coconut matcha latte was very unique as I have never seen any other place serve a similar item before. They have a blended version of the drink that I would love to try. The staff were very efficient at making everyone's drinks, and the cafe was very busy--bustling even! I was able to try some of the strawberry and ube matcha lattes, and, I have to say, the young coconut matcha latte was the best of them all. Came in for the Mother's Day BOGO! I ordered 4 ube matcha and requested one with no sweet but got home and realized after I took a sip of my hubby's drink and it tasted the same as mine with no sweet. I was wondering why it was kinda of sweet when I requested no sweet. They were super busy so probably didn't pay close attention to the orders. The ube matcha was good but my favorite so far is the double strawberry matcha. The tofu puddings are really good too, original, ginger and matcha but they were sold out tonite. The puddings were very creamy. I bought an almond croissant to try and it was ok, a little too greasy for me. The Beignets were good too! Much better than the beignets at Disneyland. Cafe was too small with hardly any standing room to place order or waiting room. Very nice and friendly staffs but not very flexible with order changes after you already paid.
