Limited soybean products sold here. When I was there on a weekday noon-ish, plain fried tofu and tofu pudding offered (refrigerated & warm), some refrigerated soy bean milk, and packaged snacks. For a place which makes fresh tofu products, was disappointed soy bean milk was only available in refrigerated section (vs also offering warm). I did buy refrigerated sweeten soybean milk. Tasted fresh and flavor was decent, didn't wow. Did like that milk wasn't overly sweet. Not sure I'll be coming back due to limited items. read more

Love living so close to a place that makes fresh tofu. I've been coming here for years and their tofu pudding and soy milk never disappoint. They occasionally have taro flavored soy milk which is delicious and just the right amount of sweetness. They also sell a variety of other things such as vegetarian seasoning. Sadly it seems like their portions are getting smaller and smaller. The tofu pudding used to be filled to the top and now it's barely half full...I'll still come back to buy their fried tofu but will skip out on the tofu pudding. read more

Ugh...so sad. I keep asking myself why did I go to this place AGAIN. The Aunty is absolutely not happy every day. I realized she had same attitude as 3 years ago based on my previous review. I went there today to look for fried tofu, she literally yelled at me "no fried tofu!" I thought this is a tofu place so I asked politely again, she screamed at me "no" and went back inside. Unbelievable.... I am sure you are not going to survive with this kind of attitude. I feel bad for the person who made this place a lot of recognition by their tasty tofu. The sweet tofu dessert and soybean milk here are remarkable! They make their own products to sell so it's always super fresh! Their warm sweet tofu dessert is VERY soft and silky! It's the BEST when served cold. I appreciate that they made their own sugar-ginger syrup to go with it too. It come in a small or a large size container to-go...I got the large one for $2.50. They sell their soybean milk in gallon containers. It's all set and ready to go. Very convenient and smart. I brought an order of their fresh fried mushroom & green onions tofu as well. It was $1 for 5 pieces. I didn't get to eat it right away until an hour later so it stayed in it's plastic bag without ventilation...and unfortunately it wasn't as good as it looked when I finally got to tasted it. My favorite spot for soy milk, soy pudding and tofu. They recently come out with the taro flavor soymilk, and it is now one of my favorite soymilk flavors. The fried tofus here are delish as well. They are not cover in oil and not as greasy as some places'. The prices are pretty cheap here. It's too bad that I don't live in Milpitas anymore. We wanted to eat the hot tofu in our car and I asked for ONE small empty container to eat out of and the lady who I just paid $13 said "NO!" (heavy emphasis on the exclamation). Asked If they have the fungus with noodles inside but they said they dont make that anymore. Can someone else verify this? Before Vinh Khang, I honestly was not a fan of the whole silken tofu with ginger syrup thang....but once I discovered this joint, I became a walking advertisement for the place. The tofu desserts here are soooo fresh! They are absolutely perfect. Soft, silky and oh so delicious. It's like heaven in my mouth. The best thing about the tofu here is that they give you coconut milk to mix in the along with the syrup...droooools...... The tofu dessert is only $1.25 each and if you buy 10 you get 1 free!!! Aside form tofu dessert, they also offer up freshly made soy milk and other soy delicates. Way better than other tofu shops hands down! This place rocks!!!! P.S. I did not know this was "Number 3," as everyone in the area says its the "original" location. Regardless, the tofu here is great, especially if you are looking for something to cook for the guests. They have all types of tofu products, but just be careful, as I really do not know what types of additives they put in there. If you like simple foods, their core product (the hard tofu blocks) is great with just a bit of a pan fry and some light salt and pepper. You are also free to sautee it with whatever you want. It is best served light, if you ask my humble opinion, however. Fitness tip: Tofu is actually high in estrogen. Although not necessarily bad, it should be part of a balanced meal. Tofu products may also contain a lot of hidden fats, as that is part of what keeps it together and/or stiff. It is high in protein, however...but also higher in carbs than you think. read more

We went in, there was no one then all of a sudden 20 people behind me. We got Chinese, Vietnamese, Philipinos and a white dude like myself. I think cash only. This place looks dumpy.. inside and out. But I like it cuz it's got tofu for cheap. You get like 8 /10 pieces of fried tofu for a buck. They also have fresh soy milk... and the best--fresh soy milk that is NOT sweetened, so you dont have to be loaded up with sugar... you can add your own sugar to your taste. People aren't the friendliest. There's no seating so it's like a pick up and go place, but you want some fried tofu for cheap and some fresh soy milk, stop by here.. it's cheaper soy milk than the stuff you get at Whole Foods, and it's fresh. read more

Not always the best, but still good. Fresh tofu products (soy milk, fried, fresh and pudding) made fresh everyday! Tofu pudding, daufu fa, is a great substitute for ice cream since it's healthier with a lot less surgar, but full of carbs. Typically eaten with ginger syrup, coconut milk or both. If you don't like ginger, ask for the syrup without ginger. Fried tofu also a really inexpensive snack, mix some soysauce, red vinegar and some sriracha to dip with the tofu. There's banh mi and other vietnamese dishes available too including sweets and wrapped items like the spring rolls. It's a great place to try out something new since these kinds of vegetarian vietnamese foods aren't well known to foreigners. Cash only. My aunt is the owner of this place and she's really nice. I'm honestly not giving this a good word just because she's my aunt. Really try out this kind of food. I don't expect everyone to like this kind of food. read more

This place makes fresh warm silken tofu (dow fu fa) in two sizes with a container of warm ginger syrup on the side. I like to get my dessert fix here. This dessert is smooth as silk and not high in fat or calories. Reminds me of my mom when she made this fresh. Inexpensive , small for $ 1.75 and large for $ 2.75. Any leftover warms up nicely in the microwave the next day. Had the fried tofu, plain - 6 for a buck and with onions and mushrooms, five for a buck. Liked the plain one better and to use it for stir fry vegetables. Hole in a wall place that serve products that are tasty and inexpensive. read more

YUMMY!! This place is known for the tofu. No duh. its in the name. But they have much more than only tofu. For tofu, the sell just huge "bricks" (they really are bricksized) of unfried tofu that you can cook yourself. Then, they have smaller pieces of tofu they fry up, some with veggies in them, some without. They have a vegie "bi". Which is salty and sweet, one of my favorite things here, that is shredded carrots, other veggies and tofu. Really good with rice. They also sell these long stick like that are wrapped in crunchy tofu skin. The stuff here also isn't too pricy. The thing i always get when I come here though is the tofu. Its in the fridge, and its REALLY smooth and silky, and then when you get home, you can pour the liquid sugar and coconut milk they give you all over it. kinda like an asian flan. They also sell this hot, which is w/o coconut milk, and the tofu is slightly thicker. You can also get tons of cooked dishes here, like sticky rice, or a rice cake like thing with shredded shrimp all over it. etc. Mainly different Vietnamese dishes you would find at any store like this one, ex. lee's etc. They have pearl tea here as well, and tons of packaged food, like beef jerky. Recommended by a friend a few months ago, I finally had the chance to try out this place. I loveee tofu so I was excited to see all the different options. I got the mushroom fried tofu: $1 for 5 pieces, score! (Regular fried tofu is $1 for 6 pieces!) I also got a hot tofu pudding with syrup, my fav tofu dessert of all time. It was DELICIOUS! It's in a sketchy plaza, is super bare bones inside, and has little else to offer than tofu, but you don't need anything else. This is the tofu of dreams. My mom doesn't go anywhere else because it's so good- also helps that we live five minutes away. The owners are really nice, and even remember my mom as a frequent customer. She can call in to tell them if she wants a specific order and they'll have it ready by the time we park haphazardly among the bad asian drivers. read more

No bi chay - boo! However, I appreciate the military style of get it done attitude these ladies possess. One woman chopping an unending supply of onions and one lady in the front - bagging and taking money. Got the mushroom/onion tofu - 5 pieces for one dollar. I asked for bi chay and she proceeded to grab the vegetarian noodle stir fry - I went ahead and bought it but wished I didn't. It was just boiled noodles tossed in oil and some pieces of cabbage and carrot! The tofu itself was tasty but I think next time I will get the pieces of fried plain tofu - perfect for spring rolls and other veggie stir fries. I totally am not with the consensus of enjoying the sweet tofu dish with ginger syrup - it's usually a Mommy and Me type of dessert, I'll save that when she comes to visit! read more

Being Vietnamese and growing up as a moderate-to-conservative Buddhist, I'm a vegetarian 2 times a month. My main staple for those days is always tofu. I've had different kinds of tofu in the past, but my favorite would definitely be fried tofu with green onion in it. Not only is it my go-to tofu to eat, it's also a regular staple of any Vietnamese tofu shop. Therefore, it will also be my standard in rating this establishment. It's 4 pieces for $1.00, which is okay. However, it wasn't fried well enough, some pieces were missing onion bits or mushroom bits or both, AND it was served cold. It was hard for me to finish just based on the fact it was cold (and if you're thinking that I should bring it home to heat up, I bought these during my lunch break and didn't have enough time to go home). Anyway, guess I'll just stick to Hung Vuong tofu in San Jose next time. read more
