I ordered two Waba bowls from the Lincoln Heights location for delivery, and when I received my order, I noticed a few issues. There was no garlic Serrano, and it looks like I didn't receive the extra meat I paid for. On top of that, I spent nearly $50, and I feel this doesn't reflect the quality of the order. I'd appreciate it if you could make this right. Thank you.

Maybe I should have checked reviews on Yelp before ordering from here via UberEats. Rookie mistake. I ordered from Waba because I recall liking them when I had them on the East Coast some years ago. Back then they had a big bottle of Waba sauce on every table and you could sauce up your food to your heart's desire. So today, I ordered the $31.99 chicken and rib eye family meal, and an order of $12.90 20-piece dumplings. I made sure to request for Waba sauce and was expecting a giant tub of sauce to arrive with my food. THEY DIDN'T GIVE ME ANY WABA SAUCE!!!! At all. None. Let me be clear that the point of eating here is the sauce. Instead, all they gave me was soy sauce packets and hot sauce packets, both of which I wasn't going to use, since I wanted... well, teriyaki. Duh. As a result, I'm eating completely unseasoned and super dry chicken, with completely unseasoned brown rice, accompanied by completely unseasoned broccoli, cabbage and dry carrots. The beef honestly tastes like flavored asian beef jerky. It's SO DRY and frankly inedible. It's the kind of dry that makes the food squeak against your teeth as you're trying to chew. Our family is trying so hard to eat this food but we all stopped after a few bites... It's just so dry! Everyone went searching for a drink and then asked, "can I not eat this anymore?" The hard part was the price: for $32 I'm not certain it was a deal in any way whatsoever. It certainly felt like 1-2 bowls worth of food. Maybe with an extra side of rice. The plus side: the dumpling skin was soft. Dumplings were a bit greasy but ended up being the only edible thing of this meal. I hate feeling like I just wasted money on food nobody wants to eat, but I do feel that's what happened tonight. I guess Waba isn't what it used to be. Most likely will pass on this in the future, especially at these prices.

The plant-based plate is so good. highly recommend.Parking is easy at this location to go all the way in the back before 7 PM and you won't have to worry about parking wait isn't long in the girl that helped me today was really nice. love the plant based plate!

I was wondering why this particular had a bad rating, but I think it's apparent this WaBa is now under new management. My experience here was great: greeted upon arrival, entirely CDC compliant, very clean and the cashier was very helpful. I got 2 combo plates and a bowl and wanted to try every single protein they offered. The cashier broke down which would be the best price combos and what to get as a side for the most value, which he didn't have to do. Food came out relatively quick especially with the amount I ordered. Plenty of sauce and utensils were provided without even asking. Food was great, cooked to perfection, and even the oranges were juicy. I hope this is the kind of quality food to expect every time.

Charged me $10 for half of avocado when the screen said 2.49 and humiliated me

I'm a regular at this Waba grill and it's always a different price. I asked the cashier why he was charging me $10 for 2 avocado and he said it was the taxes ? I know inflation is going up but $10 for avocado!!? I asked him for a refund and he was extremely rude and to top it off he gave two girls my avocado for free and said he works three jobs and doesn't want to deal with this BS!!! I was extremely humiliated mainly cuz he was speaking loudly to the two girls with the free avocado? He always rings me up and he said he doesn't remember me and said that the $2.49 for half of avocado on the menu is incorrect ? It's $10 for two half of avocado! I would love the manager to contact me to see what we can do about this ! I was extremely humiliated buy the cashier he was practically calling me stupid cuz I don't know what taxes are ? I understand what taxes are and only charged me 2 in taxes !

The best Waba in town hands down. Excellent service as always and quickly got my order

Skimped me on my salmon plate. The salmon bowl usually comes with a single filet and the plate, for quite a bit extra, is supposed to have 1.5-2 pieces of salmon...feel like I paid more than I should have for this portion!

Walked in at 10:25 pm as sign says open until 10:30. I proceed to order my food and worker says "we are actually closed for the public at 10pm and Uber eats until 10:30". What the heck are you kidding me! I stayed parked outside and they put the roller gate down and ran out at 10:29 WOW! 8/13

Some of the chicken and beef that had extra skin with bone.

The interior of the restaurant itself is very industrial and it's a super cute date spot. Parking is paid tho (as with most places in LA). We had a reservation on a Friday at 6:30 and were seated immediately. Our servers were super attentive and kind and our food came out relatively quickly as well. As for the food tho... it was a bit of a let down for us. Bing with cultured butter and honey - 4/5 If you come here, the one thing I do recommend is the Bing. The bread comes out warm and is super soft and fluffy in the inside, while having a crisp outside. I liked the touch of black pepper with the butter and honey, but it was a bit too much honey for my liking. Besides the bread itself, the dip wasn't anything special but dill delicious nonetheless. Bing with smoked fish and crème fraiche - 4/5 I think this is my favorite thing that we ordered. The smoked salmon paired well with the creaminess and slight tang of the crème fraiche, and I also loved the touch of dill. Nothing outstanding again, but the cold dip provided a nice temperature contrast w the warm bread. Mushroom crispy rice - 4/5 Loved the variety of mushrooms on the crispy rice. It had a nice umami flavor that paired well with the rice that had a nice crisp texture. It was a bit on the heavy side tho -- I wish it had a touch of lemon zest or something acidic to brighten up the dish. Bossam - 2.5/5 This was unfortunately the biggest let down of our meal. Priced at $135 I would have expected more, but it just tasted like a typical bbq pork shoulder. It was super heavy and greasy and even with the sides of lettuce, kimchi, pickled onions, and ssamjang, the fat still left a slightly unpleasant mouthfeel. The meat itself was very tender tho which I can appreciate. Also, I'm surprised this dish is called bossam, as it is not the traditional boiled pork belly. It didn't even have any sort of asian flavor besides the sides. When I read reviews online, this was by far the most hyped up dish, but we did not love it. All in all, I'm glad I tried the restaurant once but I would not personally come back. The ambiance is super nice, yet the food was unfortunately a let down.

We had the seafood pasta which was very tasty. The sauce has plenty of flavor and kick, and there is a lot of fresh seafood provided, including mussels and shrimp. Also had the lamb chops, which is one of their most popular dishes, and I can see why. The lamb was cooked perfectly, soft juicy, super easy to eat. I loved that there was chimichurri sauce provided on the side and it went well with everything, including the mashed potatoes and vegetables. This is definitely worth a revisit for any future special occasions!

Seeing the server and an Asian staff coming out from kitchen confirmed that the cooking wasn't fully American taste bud. But that is the reason why it hit me very well. Honestly, whether you have American or fusion or Asian taste bud, the taste quality is better than some average American restaurants. I tried the butter squash soup, lamp chop, and bow tie pasta with chicken. I was enjoying my soup and lamp chop a lot. The pasta was pleasant to me, but it wasn't exceptionally great compared to the lamp chop. My fiancé loved the pasta though, saying that the sauce wasn't overwhelming. It is not a cheap place to come for, but it is because the food and drinks (good white wine) have quality. The wait for the entrees was a little long, even though it wasn't that busy. I believe it was the chef spending time to make sure each dish was done well, unlike the busy restaurant where chefs only follow the restaurant's recipes to make it quick and easy. Lastly, the ambience was okay, but it was more an older fine dining/family owned style. It had some nostalgic vibe if you'd take it that way. Keep it up. I really hope it will be there forever long.

It does get pretty busy since there are only around 24-26 tables, so expect a bit of a wait during peak hours. The broth selection is extensive, making it a great spot if you're picky or want to try something different. I ordered the Dry Spicy Tomato, while my wife went with the Mushroom Broth.
