THIS TGE WORST CREW IVE SEEN SINCE IVE BEN COMING IM HERE
    Chef L.

I'm in hospitality, I'm a chef first but I've been front of the house about 4-5yrs, There's 2 people working and only 2tables sat, NO WAY MY SERVICE SHOULD BE THIS BAD! It's FREEZING SO MY FOOD GOT COLD INSTANTLY! Half the diner was closed. It took the waitress to see me not eating to realize I didn't have a steak knife. But I didn't know you could eat eat a steak with plastic utensils kuz my ass was struggling! The cook on the phone with her gf talkin bout how Waffle House want her to do what they want her to do so she gon do wtf she wanna do., I ate the cold food and got the hell out of there. It's sad wen a customer has to call for jelly and service . You can't sit for a nice meal without no bullshit. I'll just go on the westbank. In conclusion I have finished my meal, and the place is now packed because the only have 3 tables available and no bar! I just want to cash out and leave but lex hasn't done my ticket yet 0/0 COMPLETE TRASH!

Waffle and a side of bacon.

This Waffle House is easily accessible on the north side of the I-10 and easy to get off and back on the 10 and on your way. The parking lot is a bit on the small side, but its not like its a huge restaurant anyways. On my most recent visit, there were no other customers. It was about 8pm on a Friday night, and 3 people working. They were all about giving each other a hard time and not really working. This is your typical old school diner, do not expect locally sourced organic food. Cheap food is what they are all about! Don't get me wrong, I eat here, and would eat more regularly at the chain if I weren't currently trying to watch what I eat. This location is clean, decent customer service. Get a couple of waffles and sides of bacon. Or whatever other greasy goodness you want. Hashbrowns smothered and covered, or however you like it. This is best eaten after a few drinks. Just don't let your food get cold. It will not increase the taste or how appetizing (or not) the food is.

Got our meals 15 min after ordering but still have zero of the 5 beverages we ordered. I actually never got the water I ordered!

Sat down today 8-7-22 and ordered after a few minutes. Then waited 15 min (in which time the kitchen staff just argued over nothing) for most of our meals to come all except a waffle. Still no drinks. I got a OJ, one of the three beverages I ordered after I was almost done eating my meal. Once I finished my meal and the OJ, my coffee came. I finished the coffee before the waffle came. I'm still waiting on the water I ordered. I love my Gentilly neighbor!

This is what we ordered. It was excellent

The building is a dump. Old and needs remodeling since WWll. The service is excellent, and the food is delicious. Highly recommend.

My charred bacon. Ordinarily I would have asked for a new order of bacon, but I didn't want to wait another 20 minutes.

For starters, I was pretty sure our waitress Alisha was a mute until she asked my husband if he wanted anything to drink. When my husband and I walked in, no one greeted us even though there was only one other customer there. We asked if we could sit in the booth and she nodded. Then she walked over with our flatware and straws and hovered while we looked over the menu. This was our first ever visit to a Waffle House, so we needed a moment but she just hovered, not saying a word. We both ordered the waffle with bacon on the side, and hubby ordered the hash browns with cheese. I ordered coffee, and hubby ordered water. Hubby's water arrived pretty quickly. The cream for my coffee and the syrup followed shortly thereafter. Then there was a wait. A long wait. Again, there was only one other customer in the place. Eventually our waffles arrived. Then, after we had time to finish all but about 4 bites (and we were taking our time in the hopes that our sides would arrive before we finished the waffles) the bacon arrived. Hubby's was a little overdone and mine was charred (see photo). Ordinarily I would have asked for a new order of bacon, but I didn't want to wait another 20 minutes. Then, after we had finished the last of our waffles and hubby's bacon, the hash browns with cheese (which turned out to be a slice of American cheese) and my coffee arrived. All the while, Alisha didn't make another peep except to see how everything was after we finished everything. This includes the time spent checking us out when we paid. The $2.00 tip we left for her was far too generous. I sincerely hope that this is not indicative of a normal Waffle House experience.

Just your standard Waffle House- nothing new here folks

Before we went, I read these reviews and I was so looking forward to dining there for breakfast. I love breakfast and sometimes even enjoy it at night. But this? Oh no my friend. All of you who think you're eating omelettes? That's not just eggs that's got something mixed in with it that makes it super thick.. And believe me when I tell you, it does not look healthy. I ordered a hamburger and fries and a side of onion rings to share with my friend because she loves them. Everything was so greasy, not seasoned. The french fries didn't even have salt and pepper. Everything was so gross, the beef patty on my hamburger was disgusting. This past week we visited and we could both tell right away things were different. The inside of the restaurant was filthy and I mean filthy. You could see the floor under the bar and in the kitchen hadn't been cleaned in months. The fryers hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. Everything just looked dirty and like no effort is put into cleaning and maintenance. We decided to eat anyway which was a mistake. We love their burgers that are cooked and steamed old school. We both ordered one. My wife ordered hers with bacon, which they charge over 3 bucks for. We both ordered our burger dressed with all the fixings. When my wife's burger came out it had no bacon and no fixings. I told the waiter and he said he would handled it. He never did as he started doing other orders. My burger had no flavor and it looked like the person that made it didn't care , which goes along with the restaurant cleanness. One thing that really turned us off was the was other guest were treated by staff. The "cook" was completely pissed off and had a horrible attitude. A group came in looking for a table and there wasn't room. He yelled at them that there wasn't room. They stood in the entrance area for a few moments and then he yelled at them that they needed to get out of the restaurant and wait outside. He told them this isn't a restroom so don't wait in line. The attitude and distain in his voice was overwhelming. A few minutes later a couple came in and found 2 seats at the bar. They decided to order food to go and was talking to the waiter. One of the 2 people ordering was standing behind the empty bar seat while they ordered. The cook yelled at this person that they needed to sit down. Both customers were stunned. The waiter told the cook they were making an order to go and the cook could be heard muttering under his breath. This little guy was nothing but attitude and seemed extremely pissed off the there. Maybe instead of being the restaurant traffic cop and total smart ass he should concentrate on getting orders straight since ours was screwed up and never fixed. Whatever charm this place had is gone along with the any effort to keep it up to clean standards.

My only minor critique--and this is purely personal preference--would be that I would have preferred the shrimp tails removed. It certainly didn't take away from the meal, though. In fact, it led to one of the funniest moments of the trip when I squeezed a tail to remove it and accidentally launched it across the table toward one of my buddies.
