    Branzino

Had an excellent dinner. Started with lots of sharing: Mediterranean octopus, halibut ceviche, mushroom agnolotti, and the star - broiled scallop in the shell. For entree I had oak roasted branzino and several others all had olive oil poached northern halibut. Everything quite good. Desserts we tried were coconut cream pie and banana basque cheesecake. Server was charming but had some mixups and very late food deliveries; however, atmosphere trumped that and it was very good night for multiple birthdays celebration.

WHAT A VIEW!!!! This place is a dream! We sat outside (in my opinion best seats) there were overhead heaters to help if it's chilly. The oysters chefs selection was perfect! The garlic noodles were my favorite!! I loved enjoying my delicious food with an amazing view!

Waterbar delivered!! Our whole fish was absolutely delicious. Tons of flavor. One of the best meals we had while visiting San Francisco. Amazing views of the bay bridge. Our waiter was very nice and had a ton of great recommendations for food and drinks. Definitely recommend checking out this place. They are delivering some of the freshest seafood in SF.

A solid four star dining experience. Not great to be a five and not terrible enough to be a three. The views and the staff are what saves it from three star territory for me. I highly recommend reservations. I made reservations two weeks in advance-visiting from out of town-and saw people being turned away or told it would be a long wait. Even though I had 5pm reservations and I checked in at 4:50, I wasn't seated until 5:05. I got a seat near the window so I could see the waterfront and all the passing dogs! I love dogs! But the down side of the window were all the flies that were on it. At least six flies that I had to keep waving away from my food and face. The food was fine. Nothing great at all. The salmon was good and the filet mignon was good but way overcooked even for a medium. The sauces were really good though! They do have their sauces dialed in on their appetizers and sides. I had the ricotta and artichoke app and cauliflower side.

We decided to dine outdoors for the first time, and the experience was nothing short of delightful as we had Stefon as our server. He was exceptional and made my visiting family feel special and well taken care of. The warm weather and stunning views made for a memorable evening. Waterbar is a go-to destination for my out-of-town family and friends, thanks to its exceptional food and impeccable service. The view of the Bay Bridge is simply irresistible, making it a must-visit for special occasions or romantic dates. If you're traveling from the East Bay, the ferry ride to the ferry building is only a 10-minute walk. However, parking across the street is available, but unfortunately, their valet service is no longer available.

I saw this place in a TikTok review and decided to come here for dinner with my wife. People definitely come here for the atmosphere and the beautiful view. We had an outdoor table, and even though it was a little chilly, the heaters kept us warm. The food wasn't anything particularly special, though. I'd definitely come back for a glass of wine and dessert.

Visited on a Saturday for happy hour that starts at 2:30pm. Waited 25 minutes to be seated outside. It was worth it for the view of the Bay Bridge. Ordered 2 dozen oysters at $1.55 each. Note to self, 1.5 dozen is enough for 2. Oysters came out relatively fast after ordering. A bit annoying to pick out tiny shell pieces. No happy hour drinks except for M-F.

Waterbar is beautifully set on the water in San Francisco waterfront area. We were there for the oysters. Wow so many good varieties. All were fresh and perfect! I'm from east coast so it's nice to get some west coast oysters. We had 3 dozen We also had the grilled octopus over hummus. Delicious Highly recommend the Waterbar for great seafood, beautiful atmosphere and lively view!

We recently celebrated a Birthday and had a perfect view of the Water front. We had showed up on time for our reservation and were greeted by friendly Hostess and Servers. The Oysters and Cauliflower were our starters and a few Adult beverages. We had a Glass of House Chard and a Short Straw which was a Strawberry whiskey libation. We also ordered Milk bread and a side order of Garlic noodles. I had ordered the Miso Black Cod and Wifey ordered the Halibut. The older kiddo ordered the Filet Mignon and everything was portioned and tasted great. Our Server Marco was on point and made sure we had everything we needed. He even offered up a Tres Leche Bday dessert which was complimentary. A nice view and great ambiance made it the perfect Birthday venue for a celebration dinner. The Food was also the star of the experience.

I had really high hopes for this place :( We didn't have reservations and they were able to accommodate us for 2 people. We ordered and unfortunately they forgot about us. It was about 1:30 min later until we said something about not getting our food and another 1:30 min later until they said that the order didn't go through and gave us milk bread as an apology. The milk bread lacked in flavor and was hard in texture. The octopus was very delicious to me I was head over heels. The inside is obviously beautifully decorated with amazing view of the bridge. I would rate higher but the service was just so poor I don't know how a high class place like this doesn't check up on tables or notice that we've been unattended to for 2 hours.

How fun! Okay, disclaimer I've only been during happy hour and all my friends have only been during happy hour, but it's a HAPPY HOUR indeed. Lovely views. Great decor. Very relaxing, yet fun place. Service is warm and hospitable. Wonderful all around! $1.55 oysters, cheapest in town?? And a lovely selection of wine. Try the stag's head Sauvignon Blanc if you haven't yet. Great pairing. Happy Hour: everyday 2:30-5:00pm. Go, you deserve it.

We celebrated a birthday here and could not have been more happy with their food and service. We enjoyed octopus, salmon, whole branzino - all were paired beautifully with sides on the plate and the flavors were delicious. The restaurant is beautiful without being stuffy and we had the best time! Will definitely return!

Really expensive. Just ok. Service was very slow - all in all about 2.5 hours for dinner. Starters - little gem salad, fine. Octopus, not great - first bite was good and thereafter overcooked and just ok. The sea bass was great, specially the cabbage. The branzino - tons of bones - we didn't eat it. The short rib - pretty good. Cheesecake with banana - no bueno. All in all a very expensive dinner - just ok

When we got there there was a line outside, and it was probably a 30-40 minute wait. We ordered the 24-Piece Oyster Bar Mix ($92), 6-Piece Grilled Oysters with the Chipotle Bourbon seasoning ($26), and a bowl of Clam Chowder ($23). Everything came out pretty quickly so we didn't go hungry for much longer after we ordered. The day that we went, the oysters that were available and were included in our mix were the Hog Island Sweetwater, Hog Island Highwater, Hog Island Atlantic, and Hog Island Kumamoto. As soon as our server pointed out which oysters were which, however, I forgot what he said immediately so I could not tell you which ones I liked the most. You can definitely taste the difference between them though and they were all great, but my favorite one was a little bit sweeter I think, and it was one of the bigger shelled ones. Thew grilled oysters were amazing as well. The shells were even larger than the raw oysters, and there was a lot of flavor to them. The clam chowder was definitely more brothy than ones I've had in other places, and not as thick and creamy. It was still good though and there was a ton of clams and other ingredients inside. Definitely worth a try if you're visiting the pier. It's definitely on the pricier side but you are getting what you paid for. I do wish that they automatically offered the supposedly complimentary bread to each table as they sat down. Our waitress took a considerable amount of time to even come greet us. At greeting she already wanted us to order our food along with our beverages. It felt rushed after not being acknowledged. Once our main courses came we were never checked on until she brought the check. No water refills or anything until the check came and I had to ask. My friend started with the Hartford style clam chowder and it was the blandest chowder either of us had ever had. It honestly tasted like it came from a can. We did get this comped off, which was appreciated. The lobster roll my friend had was mostly all bread and mediocre tasting. Not worth the money at all. I had the squid ink spaghetti and it was completely flavorless other than the occasional burst of spice. It was spice without actual flavor though. I've never had a squid ink pasta dish that tasted like nothing. This was the most bland meal I've ever had at any restaurant.

I had the clam chowder twice, and it was just perfect--creamy, with lots of clams and potatoes. And then there is the **Boudin sourdough bread**, with that wonderful, distinctive "sour" flavor that seems to be missing from so many sourdough breads these days. One evening, we shared the **Mixed Seafood Grill**, which was amazing: wild-caught shrimp and three kinds of fresh fish--black cod, halibut, and salmon--served with salad and fresh vegetables. We started with the organic beet salad, with both red and gold beets. On another visit, I had the **Dungeness crab cake appetizer with a bowl of clam chowder**, which made a delicious and surprisingly hearty dinner. I was lucky enough to have **Tom as our waiter twice**, and he won my heart with a small act of kindness. At the end of dinner, I asked if he could wrap up my two remaining pieces of sourdough bread. When I opened the package later, I discovered he had tucked in a few extra pieces for me. I brought them home and was able to enjoy a little taste of San Francisco for several more days. Thank you, Tom! I also love that Scoma's hasn't tried to turn itself into another sleek, modern restaurant. The **old-school, vintage 1960s-1970s atmosphere** is part of its charm: waiters in white jackets, dark wood paneling, brown leather or vinyl seating, brass details, warm amber-glass lighting, wrought-iron dividers, and crisp white tablecloths. Walking into Scoma's feels a little like stepping back in time. For me, it was even more special because it brought back memories of **California days with my family when I was growing up**. Wonderful seafood, warm hospitality, sourdough that actually tastes sour, and an atmosphere with a real sense of history. There is a reason we came back three times.

We got the Dungeness crab for two! Highly recommend. As an avid seafood boil connoisseur, I read…read moreone whole Dungeness crab and rolled my eyes that this was enough for two people. But it was! We were both very full with garlic noodles left over. The crab we opted to get the peppercorn style crab. The light battered fry on the crab gives so much flavor! The garlic noodle texture was closer to knife cut noodles compared to other places that use spaghetti noodles. I also used the fried garlic and peppercorn from the crab as a garnish onto the garlic noodles. It was a proud big back moment for me. The restaurant filled up pretty quickly after we got there at 5:45 on a Sunday night. Lots of birthday celebrations and larger groups. Who would not wanna celebrate with crab?

Today we came here with a party of 28, and we had 3 tables upstairs. Our waiter, Alan, took care of us all evening. He was patient and accommodating. By the time we finished dinner, it was almost closing time, but Alan didn't seem to mind taking a few family photos for us. We ordered the Crab dinner for 10 for each table, and each dish came out quickly. We enjoyed every dish, especially the crabs. You get 3 crabs (2 butter, and 1 peppercorn). The sea bass was also a standout, with its buttery texture. The garlic noodles are always a favorite. The meal ended with fried bananas and ice cream. The upstairs wasn't very crowded, so we felt like we had the place to ourselves. PPQ is an excellent choice for larger parties and events.
