Again, another place that is super close and convenient. However, they've burned my bagel numerous times and tried to cover it up with massive amounts of cream cheese. The few times they managed to crisp it just right, they still gave me WAY too much cream cheese. Okay, so I decided the next time I came I'd tell them to go easy on the cream cheese. Got my bagel...no difference. I now have to tell them to just leave it off the bagel and give me a side of the cream cheese instead. I've come at different times...in the morning when it's crazy busy, in the middle of the afternoon when it's dead, on the weekends when kids are screaming and coughing in your face, etc...and they never seem to have a good system going for their line. There is an "express" line, and a normal one, I think. No one knows which one to get into. Some people cut the lines altogether and just march up to the counter and order. It's just weird and a bit of a cluster****. They're not the best bagels in the world, but they're good. I enjoy the cheese bagels, toasted, with just a little cream cheese. read more

Was so excited to find that they had pumpkin bagels and pumpkin cream cheese when I was here the other day (in October). But it wasn't as tasty as I've had at other places. Decent though, and friendly service, good location, nice ambiance. I would probably come back (nice that they are right next to Coffee Bean) but would get some other bagel with plain cream cheese. No curbside pickup. We're 10 months into the pandemic. It's not hard to bring orders out to a car, especially when orders are paid for in advance. This has always been a poorly managed location. Figure it out. We will be purchasing bagels on Goldbelly or elsewhere until these issues are fixed. read more

The men behind the counter served the man in line behind me, when I tried to ask for bagels. When I asked politely why I was being overlooked, two of the servers turned away from me. Bagels are good, but service sucks. If you're going to tell us "We'll bring it out to you." Then that's what we'll expect. Waited 15 minutes to get some toasted bagels that they never brought out. Finally went in to check, and they've been sitting on the counter. When we got them, the cashier said we didn't say "for here" even though we'd stated "2 are for here with our coffee" twice, AND he repeated it with the order. This place has it all. Ok bagels, rude staff, crying kids who are hungry, and a mob of angry customers. I live around the corner, so have visited this place a few times. Its always the same. Never waited less than 20 min to get my bagel. Want to call ahead? Go for it, they'll take your order...but you still have to wait in the 10 min line, and only then will they start making it. So...what's the point of calling ahead. Here right now. JUST got my everything bagel, not toasted, with cream cheese exactly 22 min after ordering it. Fine restaurants serve up main courses quicker! I have overheard 6 customers complain of the wait and 2 others who demanded to speak with the manager, who brushed them off as if they were annoying him. If you want to try the experience of coming here from the comfort of your own home, just grab some bamboo shoots and jam them under your fingernails. It won't quite be as painful as getting a bagel from Western Bagel, but it's about as close as you can get. read more

I love western bagel, I've been getting it since I was a kid but this location has horrible service. We just moved to studio city, my boyfriend and I order the same thing every single time, four bagels, all the same. Every time we come to this location they get the order wrong. It's a bagel. It's not rocket science. Apparently, that is not the case for the people that work at Western Bagel. Not only have I had my order incorrectly made on multiple occasions, but I have also been over charged or shorted bagels when I have purchased a dozen. The customer service is almost as great as their bagel preparing abilities. Today, for example, I was running erronds and called in a bagel that I was going to pick up. I was told it would be ready in five minutes. When I arrived at Western Bagel, my order wasn't ready. I told them I would wiat for a couple of minutes while I made it. They asked for my name that I placed the order in, yeah they couldn't even find my order. So they said they would make it while I waited. Okay. I re-gave them my order... the girl behind the counter told me "oh I just sold the last blueberry bagel to that guy" as she pointed to a guy walking out the door. GGGGGRRRR. One suggestion for the people that work there... you need a new system of how you make your orders. Have one person on the register / grabbing the bagels for people who order a dozen and then have a couple of people in line on the back counter prepping orders. A must when I visit LA is to stop at Studio City Western Bagel. This chic city cafe offered me a parking spot in front and a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. As I entered the store I found the same sincere and friendly personnel as last time. Love coming back and being greeted with such kindness by people who clearly love their work. The bagels not only smell but also look great and taste amazing. That's the only hard part- What bagel to choose ? Well I figured that out, order my fav salt bagel and a few mixed dozens to go. Stephanie the Manager packaged the bagels up that we're fresh right out of the oven and ready to take on the plane. This cafe is decorated with artistic murals and nostalgic history including the company starting in 1947 from New York and moving to California. The person that takes your order is the person That actually cooks it and it takes 45 min to get a bagel or a coffee because it's a bottleneck !!! I went here on a Saturday afternoon when I had a craving for bagels. My girlfriend was telling me how much she enjoyes eating the bagels here so I thought why not give it a try? When we showed up, the service was amazing and the people really helped us determine what we wanted to order. After we placed the order, the food came very fast. When I'm really hungry and in a rush to work, I'll end up at Western Bagel. I really like this location as it's close and the service is great. I ended up in the wrong line and the girl behind the counter was so sweet about it. Additionally, they are always really fast about preparing my meal. man, wake and bake and western bagel go together like peas and carrots. my friends and i are ALL about this place. they have bagels galore...lots of pastries...coffee...homemade cream cheese that is soooo good...and those super cute little apple juices in the bottles that look like apples! yesssss! i always get one of two things... a a plain bagel, toasted, with eggs, cheese and ketchup...OR...a plain toasted bagel with strawberry cream cheese. oh hell yea. the prices are right, the service is fast and friendly... it's located right on ventura blvd and coldwater canyon, with a cute patio in the front...so people watching is always a good time. just try something from this place, anything, i guarantee you'll love it. read more
