I have mixed feelings about my experience with Wheel Works. I'm partly to blame for the whole fiasco but only partly.... The good thing I can say is that both of the guys who worked with me, Dennis and Steve were super polite and friendly. My tire went flat the weekend before Christmas and my wheel also got bent somehow, so I ended up needing tires and my wheel repaired. They said they'd look into the price of a new wheel compared to the price of having the wheel repaired. I brought the car in and it seemed like a really long time passed before they contacted the shop they send out wheels to for repairs. I ended up getting frustrated, trying to buy a wheel online and that stalled the process a bit. Long story short, I purchased the wrong wheel and then had to call them back and have them send it out for the repair, which took another week.....which seemed long to me? I don't know, maybe I'm wrong but still.... Definitely friendly service and if you only need tires at an affordable price, I'd recommend them. read more

I would give negative star if I could, and here is why. My car broke down in the midst of busy highway 280 as I was driving from Napa to San Jose on Sunday due to a major fuel leakage. My car had just gone through a water-pump replacement by Wheel Works. They failed to put the parts back in. As a result, gasoline was leaking while I was driving. I was told I was lucky my car didn't catch the fire. Here is what I had to go through because of their negligence: - Trying desperately to make the car running by turning on numerous time so that we could reach safer area. - Waiting for AAA for about a few hours while parked on a triangle shaped merge area. - Repair cost at a reliable AAA endorsed auto shop for $125, which was reimbursed by Wheel Works. - Transportation arrangement and time spent to go back to San Jose from Oakland. - Another transportation arrangement from San Jose to Oakland to pick up my car. I would never, ever trust my car with Wheel Works Campbell again. If you come here, ask lots of questions on what the shop is working on your car, because I don't wish anyone to go through what I went through. read more

Avoid Wheel Works in Campbell. They can't be trusted. My truck is only 3 years old, and has only 27K miles. The tires are the originals, and the treads are no where near being worn out. I had a nail in my front left tire, so I pulled into Wheel Works to see if they had time to repair it. The service writer looked at the tire, and let me know that they would work on it but it would be a very long wait - possibly over 2 hours. So I agreed to make an appointment to come back later that day. I showed up for my appointment, and a different service writer went out to take a look at the tire. He proceeded to point out some very tiny cracks between the rows of tread on the tire. Such cracks are not unusual, and not dangerous; the fiberglass and steel belts that are bonded under the tread are more than sufficient to compensate for small cracks in the rubber. (Cracks on the sidewall are a different story -- that would indicate that the tire is breaking down -- but the sidewalls look perfectly normal on my tires.) He told me they wouldn't work on the tire because the pressure on the tire generated by the tire changer would split the tire at one of those cracks. Seriously? Split the tire and the belts underneath? How stupid does he think his customers are? He was obviously just looking for an excuse to sell me tires that I didn't need. I simply asked for my keys and left. I went to another tire store (America's Tire in Campbell), and they not only fixed the tire in less than an hour, they did it for free! I'd give these guys 0 stars if I could... they're dishonest. read more

Took my car in for new tires and an alignment. Roy (store mgr) and Daniel (service mgr) were great - very personable and knowledgeable about their product. They took their time explaining to me (me who knows nada about cars) the ins and outs and the whys. This location has a mom and pop shop feel to it instead of a big chain retailer, so you don't feel like you're being rushed. I give this place 4 stars for their service, quick scheduling, email reminders about the service and location. I knock off a couple stars for their pricing and "coupons". They advertise $99 special for pads, but that's a lie. Not a lie that they have them, but once you are in there and show a coupon, they basically tell you, that's their "lower end" and "your breaks won't last". So, while the salesman was kind, it ended up being an additional $85 or so dollars more each. They applied "discounts" that I am still unclear of. Ended up paying $697 for front and rear breaks plus rotors. I came to work and told coworkers how much i spent, they laughed and said I should have taken it to this place near work. :-( Just shop around if you can. I couldn't and still feed kind of cheated that they bait and switch their "$99 special on break pads". Maybe don't offer "lower end" pads? Just a thought for customer satisfaction. If that's the Wheel Works way, it's a little concerning. Still appreciate the guy who helped me. Very nice and I was able to get my car in and out on a Saturday in about 2-3 hours. read more

I don't know what happened but this place has gone down hill since the last few times Ive been here. Their customer service used to be great, now you can tell they only want money and could care less about you or your car. Took my car in because it had a nail in it, before I took it to Wheel Works I checked the tire myself and saw the nail was in the middle of the tread. (if its on or near the sidewall the tire has to be replaced) They said if its patch able it would be free, once they called me they said it would be over $100. They said the nail was on the sidewall which was a complete lie (because I checked) so I had to pay the amount for a whole new tire. Sad to say Ill be looking elsewhere for tire service. read more

Took our car in to Wheel Works on White Oak to the have a tire repaired about 2:30. They said it would be ready by 6pm (closing time). We called at 5:15pm, since we had not heard from them. They said no way it would be done by 6!!!! My wife asked if it would be done in the morning since she had a 10am appt. NO!!! They screwed up royal at our time and inconvenience. We went back and picked up our car ... still needing repair. If you give someone a time of completion, then you MUST do it ... or if you cannot, a courtesy phone call is necessary. They did neither. Never going back to this Wheel Works. BTW: We have used the one on Prospect Ave for many years with nothing but excellent, reliable service. read more

After going to another Wheel Works and going back 4 times there to try to get the squeal out of my brakes, I decided to come to this shop again. The mechanic seemed more experienced and the manager wanted to use better original pad parts to solve the noise problem. They finished ahead of schedule, did the work under warranty for the other store, and solved the noise problem, but these pads don't have as much grab as the last ones. Update: I was not happy with the pads, so after some arm twisting they changed them again for me and the noise is gone and the stopping performance is good. read more

I needed to get a few tires for my vehicle, and was looking around for places to get this done, and discovered online that I can request a quote for tires, which I did. I was able to get a price, and then once that was done able to schedule an appointment, once you do that somebody from Wheel Works will give you a call to confirm your quote and appointment which is great, I was able to ask about other items I needed to get everything completed. The day of my appointment, I was they first thing in the morning, to get everything that I wanted done, which was great because I knew it would take a few hours, but the tech that worked on my vehicle did a great job he was not only fast but very professional and making sure to take care of my vehicle. They service inside this location was great, the estimate was done in a fast manner, and they keep to that estimate within two dollars. They did not try to sell me things I did not need, but yet to make sure everything I needed to get done was done. I look forward to having my vehicle here again why tires are needed again. If you are looking for a professional shop with people that will take care of your vehicle then you need to give this place a try. Please take note, yes you might be able to find your tires cheaper, but the service and professionalism is over the top here. The only reason I am not give this place 5 stars is in the waiting area, there was no wireless, I know for me it was not that bit of a deal, but if somebody was doing this during work hours, having wifi would be a huge thing. I've been going to Wheel Works for years for oil changes, new tires, etc. and love the Los Gatos location. This time, with a giant screw in my tire, I decided to try the closer-to-me, Campbell location. Not only were they super quick to fix it, even though they were busy, they did it for FREE. Luckily they were able to just patch the hole, and it would have been only about $20, but still- great customer service and the fact they didn't charge me will make me a fan for life. I called BEFORE I showed up today at 12:25pm. I spoke to Alex on the phone and let him know I was bringing my Tesla model X in for a flat tire. He said no problem, I would leave happy and they would take care of it. Upon arrival, Alex was friendly, I waited 30 minutes, no big deal. After inspection, they determined I had a nail in the front passenger tire. I was OK with the price they quoted me for the tire replacement $332 plus tax and labor, however They did NOT have a tire in stock to put on my vehicle right then and there. They said it would take 4-5 days for the tire to arrive! LOL What a joke. Needless to say, it was a waste of my time and I did not leave happy. Immediately afterwards, I took my tesla to America's tires on Hamilton in Campbell. They replaced my tire in 40 minutes and I was good to go. If you need ANY help with tire issues for your vehicle, save yourself the time and money and do not go here. The people are very friendly but did not take care of the flat tire. Not honoring their Junk Mail. Okay here's the shimmy I went to this place because I found a junk mail coupon for a full synthetic oil change at $45 and another coupon for a free brake inspection and $25 off any brake job. Originally I just needed to do an oil change and I knew that my rotters needed to be replaced. I'm never coming here for an oil change. It turned out they don't carry full synthetic oil at this location and had to send a runner to a store to buy it. They charge me regular price and didn't honor the coupon. My car takes more that 6 quarts of oil but I always don't tell shop people to see what they do. They fill the oil up to the bottom line on my dip stick and fail to tell me this. Knowing i'll need to add more oil between now and 6 months, I checked the billing receipt before i leave to see what brand of oil they used and it wasn't listed. So I ask the second shop guy because the first guy wasn't there and he was clueless. Who knows what kind of janky mystory oil they used. Never go to a shop that charges for a brake inspection. That stuff should be free since you're doing business with them, most times if you tell the shop guy what happens when you brake they'll know exactly what the problem is without looking at your car. On the billing it says that I wasn't charged for the brake inspection but it failed to list the $25 discount for the coupon. The A-OK rating is because the brake service was cheaper than PEP Boys and the selling point was that they offered me a rental car from Enterprise. I dropped my car at 11am and picked it up at 3:30pm. I thought that was awsome to have a rental car for the four and a half hours they needed to fix my car. read more

Yesterday I discovered I had a very low tire, so I came in to Wheel Works early in the morning. The man at counter was very nice and empathetic. He told me there were three people ahead of me, and he kept me informed regularly. Since I was also low in oil they did an oil change for me. Despite having to wait, I felt cared about because he kept checking in and giving me updates. And fixing the tire issue (nail) and doing the oil change was very reasonably priced. Wheel works provides a great service for a great price. I had recently purchased tires from Costco and was looking to get my alignment done. I did some research and found that wheel works had a special for a lifetime alignment on your car for only $150. I jumped on the deal and had my car serviced. They took less than an hour. When completed they went through a thorough explanation of how my alignment was. As I was driving home, I noticed how much better my car was handling. It wasn't pulling left like it originally was. I'm glad I purchased the lifetime alignment package. I have already gotten my money's worth in alignments. I've recommend this location to my friends and family. read more

I came to Wheel Works to get new tires for our Ford Focus. I called before I arrived to make sure they had the tires in stock and to make an appointment. When I got there they said they had the tires but that I have no appt. Interesting, but they were still able to get the tires all set up in a couple of hours. When I called to check on the status, whoever answered the phone wasn't very friendly, said it would be done before 5 and then hung up. But when they called me to tell me it was ready, 20 minutes later, the guy was very friendly. Of course the total was more than I wanted, but its tires, what can you do? I had just serviced my work van replacing the tie rods and ball joints with my mechanic. I brought my van to get an alignment at wheel works, what a HUGE MISTAKE. My brother swings by and pays for the service and I went and picked up my van after hours. First thing I notice was my steering wheel was at about 260 deg to the left while I was driving straight !!!! The car pulled insanely hard on the freeway. Someone flagged me down on the freeway and that's when I noticed my right front wheel was at an angle upon further investigation I come to find out the control arm bolt was left loose and hanging on my a thread. My front tires end up getting shredded from how bad the alignment was. I have my mechanic tighten the bolt down and readjust my wheel it cost me 80 bucks. I go back to wheel works, the MASTER TECH tries to tell me the sleeves are not the right sleeves and I've been driving the van wrong for 15 years !!!! Really the sleeves from factory aren't right smh I don't even argue. He does the alignment again and tells me it's still off, at this point I'm so done with them I just want my money back. I get a full refund with major attitude, I've wasted so many days trying to have them fix the problem. I had to replace my front tires and guess what... I took my car to pro alignment down the street they serviced the car in 30-40 min he said the car was misaligned so poorly it wouldn't even register !!! My van is all fixed thanks to pro alignment. This place has helped me out in a jam a few times while in town for a night on business. Once they replaced a leaking hose when I brought the car in on a Sunday afternoon - only cost $70 and got the car back in two hours on a busy day. The other time was a couple weeks ago when one of my sadly needing replacement tires got a nail in it. I ended up going with all four new tires, but they printed me up a maintenance schedule (I had just hit 180k miles) and told me everything that looked good and that needed attention - with no pressure to buy from them. Had a really awkward experience here today. Over the phone I was told my tire would be replaced under warranty. When I went to pick up my car, I was told that the pricing I was given was incorrect since I didn't have road hazard coverage. Ended up paying $140 more than I was quoted to have one tire replaced. I don't have an issue with the cost, as I didn't have road hazard coverage, but I was told told initially the tire was being covered under warranty (two different things). Just a sloppy experience overall. Been a customer here for a while, but it's time to move on to a shop that is run more professionally. read more

I've been going to Wheel Works for about 25 years now. I used to live around the corner, which made it easier, but there are other places just as close that I could have patronized, but you know what they say..."if it ain't broke, don't fix it." I recently moved, and it's not longer nearly as convenient...BUT...there's really no need to go anywhere else when, regardless of who is working on any given day, you get treated with the same courtesy, respect and professionalism each and every time, so driving a little farther, wherein now it makes more sense to sit in the waiting room and wait, is a small price to pay to know that you're going to get served well... I took the time to post a Yelp review this time around, because one of the counter people took the Wheel Works standard level of excellent customer service to another dimension on my most recent visit. The counter-person who served me this time around was named Alex Terry. When I gave him my phone # to look me up in the system, he said, "Callaway? Your aren't related to Jack Callaway, are you?" I am. Jack Callaway is my son. He passed away about a year and 9 months ago. So I looked up at Alex with a bit of a pained look on my face, and said, "Yes I am. I'm his Dad." Then HE got an empathetic look on his face, stuck his hand out, and said, "I'm so sorry. My condolences to you and your family. Jack was a great guy." I asked how he knew him. "I went to Discovery Middle School and Leigh High School with him. He was just such a cool guy. I can only imagine how devastated you are, and I'm so sorry for your loss." I can't say for certain, but my first instinct tells me that most kids his age, if faced with a similar circumstance, either would not have said anything at all, or, at the very least, would probably not have handled it with such impressive and graceful aplomb. And to top that all off, I felt like both he AND Roy, the manager, made every effort to take Wheel Works standard level of excellent service and bump it up even more than usual in deference to this encounter. Alex, if you get the opportunity to see / read this, my utmost and heartfelt gratitude goes out to you for handling this encounter in such a delicate and respectful way, and I wish you all the best for your future... It took three days to fix a problem that wasn't even one of the items I brought it in to get fixed in the first place. Wow. What a headache... And one would think that the phone communication would have been on point. Nope not at all. Three times in total I was completely forgotten about. And never recieved an update on my truck at all. I will say this. There is an effort made to do right by the customer. and you can tell that juan(store Manager) really wants his customers leaving happy. however, when the ball is dropped this many times over something so minor and simple. I think making a call to a gm to receive permission to bend the rules this one time. would have been in good character. Instead here we are. dropped a star for lack of calling when vehicle was ready multiple times. dropped another star for lack of good communication skills (yours where very poor) and Finally Droppped the last star do to the fact that the quality of work was not done in a timely manner of which was promised.......... I wont grade you on cleaninlyness of the store or availability of your schedule.... Also wont grade on customer service issues and how they are handled....... so I gave you two gold stars......which to me,,,means NEEDS IMPROVEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Once again, my past experience here with the employees deserves a proper review. I had made an appointment a week prior for that following Monday that I missed due to unforeseen circumstances, I didn't call or notify them at all with the fact I couldn't make my appointment. I thought if I showed up early the next day I could get my rear tires replaced with no problem. I failed to take into account that they could possibly be fully booked up... yeah, I showed up at 10 am and was informed they were looking at a very busy day. The manager Roy, who had remembered me from previous visits, truly surprised me by remembering my name and even engaged me with conversation that drew from conversations he and I had from my last visit months ago. I felt as though I was talking with a good friend I hadn't seen in a while. He told me that they could fit me in if I could leave my car for a few hours. I was happy to hear that it was even a possibility, seeing as how I had no appointment and the fact that I was basically driving on slicks. A few hours later I got a call to pick up my car. Yeah, I'll never take my car anywhere other than this Wheel Works. Thank you Roy and thanks to the amazing staff that day! read more

I was having a slow leak problem with a boat trailer tire and wheel. I had taken the it to several tire places in the Campbell area and was told no leak could be found. I knew this wasn't actually true, but no solution was offered. My experience at Wheel Works was radically different. After telling my story, I was told that they will investigate and solve the problem, adding that they like a challenge. They did exactly that. They took the tire off the wheel, found the problem and solved it. All with no charge. After my past experiences with this, Wheel Works was a breath of fresh air. read more
