We also tried a couple of the pie bites (cherry and blueberry), and both were disappointing. The fillings tasted dried out, and the crust was the only thing that stood out. So my daughter treated me to this pie bakery. Immaculately clean interior. The girl at the cashier is super sweet and super cute. The pie itself is ok. Almost $10 per slice ? I get it, the overhead cost, ingredients, and labor. But for it to be that kind of price point, it should be great? Was swanning around in Brentwood earlier today. Saw Winston Pies. I like pie so I went in to see the pies. They had all sorts of wondrous looking pies. Since I almost always have apple pie, I had a slice of apple pie. It was very good. Unlike many food places in Brentwood, there are chairs and tables in Winston Pies. Wish I could give Winston Pies an extra star for having places to sit and eat. A lonely spot in Brentwood. Very beautification inspired. With a swing in the inside that doesn't swing and has legs. The pie spot has limited options and on the higher end. Was it worth it, not as much but what am I going to get is key lime pie when the craving hits. The customer service was great and the young lady provided great suggestions ! This is basically our go-to place for a NICE dessert! It's pricey at $60+ for a whole pie, but depending on the flavor, it is well worth it. I think my personal favorite is their seasonal Pumpkin Pie. I am not a fan of pumpkin pie and theirs is pretty much the only one I can eat that tastes amazing! The crispy crust and not too sweet pumpkin filling is perfection. Recently, we tried their Mother's Day Pie, which was a roasted strawberry with mascarpone. It kind of reminded me of a strawberry shortcake. The crust was kind of crumbly/soft compared to their usual crust. The filling tasted okay -- it was kind of gummy/gooey (not in a good way). We've also tried their Berry Crumble (good for a vegan option) and Pecan Pie (kind of sweet). I wish they had more seasonal flavors with fresh fruit. Stopped by Winston Pies to try some of their coffee and pies, which they sell by the slice or whole. I sampled a slice of their apple pie and their chocolate cowgirl. Apple pie ($9.25) - The crust could have have been more flakier (i.e. used more butter). The apples had a decent amount of sweetness, unfortunately the pie was served cold and taste wise found the pie to be just OK. Chocolate Cowgirl ($9.25) - This seemed more like a chocolate brownie served on top of a soft pie crust. It was pricy! Cappuccino ($5.25) - One of the worst cappuccinos I have had. It seemed extremely watered down and wasn't rich nor smooth. Overall, I was disappointed with the slow service and how long it took to get a cappuccino. This was a good stop! I came in for pie day to grab a mini-pie for me and my partner. I tried the mixed berry crumble and the key lime. The key lime is one of the best that I've ever had -- not too tart and the crust was crumbly and tasty. I was quite disappointed by the mixed berry crumble. The crumble on top was too sweet for me and there wasn't a ton of filling. It was too crispy and I just wasn't a fan - and I usually love berry pie. The staff members here were great! Had my pies ready to go and so friendly to work with. Parking is tough here depending on the time of day so come prepared to drive around for a while. read more

WEnt to Winstons pies in Palm Desert for the first time and the dissapointment was overwhelming! We spent $164.00 on 2 full pies and 3 mini pies plus tip as the girl who helped us did her best. However, when we got them home all mini pies were dry and actually burned in some areas we could not even cut them with a fork. Now I am left with a full Apple pie that looks just the same, burnt and dry! Not even sure what the strawberry pie will be like. But to pay this kind of money to have overbaked pies is terrible. I called numerous times to the shop to bring this to the managers attention, but every time you press the #2 to get the shop it hangs up on you. So this is my option to tell this pie store the isssues. Obviously, they dont want customers to call for any reason, so we will not try to do so again. Winston's Pies is an amazing dessert shop! A favorite of my family. We have tried many of their pie flavors and they have all been exceptional. Favorites would be the Carolina Classic Cherry Pie and the Chocolate Cowgirl. Also, my sister tried the pecan and said that it was probably the best that she's ever had. Dear Brianna, I've been coming to your shop since you opened here in Brentwood, but I really would like for you to know that your employees do not care for your customers. We came Sunday evening 8pm as my family was visiting in town. I wanted to introduce them to your lovely pies (yes they are still great) but instead we left the shop neglected. The shop was empty, and still it took a long time until anyone one of the three employees acknowledged us. The pies were shoved in carelessly as if the staff just wanted us to leave. I've always passed by this pie shop and never had the time to actually try it. I was so happy to finally purchase some mini pie bites to go. We ordered the cherry pie bites, dark chocolate, and blueberry. Everything was delicious and decadent, and the inside felt very inviting / homey. Delicious bakery! My partner and I had a craving for some amazing dessert and stumbled upon this gem of a place. As soon as we walked in, we both commented on how cozy and welcoming the place felt. While it's not a huge place, there is plenty of seating for anyone who rather sit and enjoy their dessert rather than leaving which is exactly what we decided to do. I ordered the apple pie while my partner ordered the chocolate pie. The apple pie slice I reviewed was amazing and we asked for a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side which just packed the plate with more flavor! My partners chocolate pie was so delicious! It tasted like a smooth brownie. The consistency with the scoop of ice cream just made the dessert even better. The staff was super nice and attentive. I'm not even a pie fan but this place sure converted me. They had bite size pies, slice pies, mini pies, and full on pies. So many choices and they even have seasonal pies. Oh and they have a few gluten-free options as well. We came in on a late night and some items were out but for the most part they had most in stock. I ended up getting a bite size Carolina Class Cherry Pie which was delicious and such a fun size. And I also got their mini size of their popular Harvest Apple Pie with some ice cream. The crust on this pie is to die for and the apple pie filling was oh so good. Oh, and they also offer Mcconnell's vanilla ice cream. Both went together perfectly and was amazing! The staff member on the other side of the glass explained what each pie was and we ended up going for: WINTER BERRY CRUMBLE. - MINI - $12 This 5 inch mini pie apparently serves 2-3. It was so tart. I may have not listened well...she did say blackberries and cranberries. This choice was bad. The oat crumbles were good but I rec getting this a la mode (+$3) cuz I didn't. Over priced and overwhelming. COOKIES 'N CREAM - SLICE - $8.50 Housemade Oreo crust and cookie in a light creamy filling. Okay this one was really good! So silky and yummy! For all those cookies n cream fans out there. So I totally did not expect my total before tip would come out to be like $24....for 2 pies!?! I had to ask to double check but it all checks out. You can get more bang for your buck at many other places in LA, including a multitude of great Southern restaurants and dare I say even what you can buy at Costco. The service was what you would expect at dessert shop. The cashiers were kind. The shop was cute and very close to UCLA area. Key Lime Pie: It was good and fresh. I wish it was more limey and sour. The crust was a bit too crumbly in my opinion. The texture was on the starchy side but still very creamy. The pie was about the size of my toddler's hand. I would rate this a 7/10 as it's a bit over priced for the size. Apple Pie: We ate this the next day so not sure how it would taste fresh. We air-fried it the next day. The apples were crisp and tart but, hoped had more apples instead of the sticky sauce part. Not sure if it was worth $10 a slice. Like last time, I went for the mixed berry. This offering was with an oat meal crumble (previously, it was with a cobbler topping). We also had their cookie dough favorite that came with a chocolate chip crust. Both pies were ordered a la mode. Then a slice of southern pecan pie to go. What can I say that I have not said before? My friend and I recently tried Winston Pies. I got a slice of the seasonal cookies and cream and she got some kind of chocolate pie. Hers was pretty good but very rich, and mine was pretty good. I didn't find either pies to be something I'd come back for - they were more expensive than I would have imagined at $8.50/slice and a whopping $59/whole pie. We also got vanilla ice cream on the side, which I think I enjoyed more than the pie. If they lowered their prices and the crust was softer and flakier, I might reconsider. Not a bad place to go (especially if you're a pie lover - I do like chocolate and berry pies quite a bit but would say that I would go for a chocolate mousse or chocolate cake option if given the choice), but just wasn't necessarily for me. read more
